Nice scenic drive in from the south for a quick find in a nice quiet spot. TFTH
Found it!
Stopped and had my work lunch break here and made the find.
Log dry but full.
Thanks doog!

Found at about 10.55 this morning on the way to a scout camp at Wee Jasper. Very peaceful here today and loved the gentle slurp of the river flow over the rocks at the bridge. My GPS-r had me going around in circles a bit, but I was able to make the find after a minute or two. The log sheet was quite damp but I was able to imprint my mark on the paper anyway,
We love feature location caches and this was a classic.
Now onto Wee Jay
Many thanks doog293

I was out with the Scouts at Wee Jasper this weekend and we decided to detour on our way home for a Scouts Own here, so of course I took the opportunity to grab the cache.
I made a nice quick find however the log is damp. A corner of the container has a small hole so I returned it with that protected a little. TFTC

I tried over thinking this one and walked up and down the bridge a few times then thought where would I put it if I was hiding the cache(and of course used the clue) and soon had the cache in hand.TFTC TNLN
A quick stop on the way to Wee Jasper for a night's camping. Interesting bridge & a nice stop.

"Oh why not go this way home? More caches to be found!" i muttered to myself, when i accidentally missed the road to canberra turn off. (I blame the family of 4 sheep that were just standing on the road, not moving until i was honking at them, nearby!)
This is a cool bridge, with very nice views of the murrumbidgee. It looks rather full at the moment!

What a great old bridge, glade we came here to have a look.
Cache was an easy find.

Out on a Wee Jasper run with Agent Basil and Batgirl & Co.
We found this one fairly quickly, although the indicated GZ seemed a little off. The hint definitely helps. (That and the fact that I wanted to get out of the chilly wind blowing off the lake!)

This one hadn't been in the gps but Garmin to Garmin wireless transfer is a great feature. Alright AB - if you'd like to grab this one we can now go get it. (Although I think dopplefrog found this one first also).
Nice bridge, I think the terrain rating may be a tad over-rated and coords slightly out. Nice set of wombat poos sitting on the trail to trap the unweary. Doppelfrog made the find which was in favour as it proves he knows the size of caches that aren't 1 Litre in size!
Found on our way to Wee Jasper for a camping weekend. Marvellous bridge and lots of water. TFTC.
Quick detour on the way to our camping destination was well worth it, very pretty in the morning mist and a quick find. Miss Stormcatcher took some quick photos and we were on our way again.
Found while visiting Wee Jasper caves, which were not open UNFORTUNATELY. But we got this cache. TNLN Thanks euco Silky seekers
This one was a pretty easy find but I was frightened by the terrain.
I almost fell over and was extremely careful not to go plunging into the river.

Found cache relatively easy on the last day of the year. Took a numer of pictures of this magnificent structure and the beautiful surrounding area. Coming from Scotland, the 35 degree temperature was getting very close to my endurance threshold.

The old "Bidgee" is looking sensational, but flowing to high for most around these parts right now.
Nice place for doing a spot of fishing, and a nice hide, many thanks.

Cache was placed above top water level so should not be affected by the current height of Burrinjuck Dam waters.
Not so tame today. Unfortunately this cache may be unavailable. The dam is close to full and the water has been up at the side pillars of the bridge. I looked at all the piles of rocks and all had been underwater at some stage. I could not find the bottle.

I thought this was going to be a DNF when we found it on the way back from our initial search area. Bu I found it in the end with the geoson on our trip from Canberra to Yass and then back to the ACT via Mountain Creek Road.
I think there is a lot more water here than there has been for a long time , and certainly HEAPS more than in Jul in RuskiTreck's photo. I'll load up my photos soon, but the water level is looking great. Too bad there is not a nice picnic area around here. TNLN TFTC.

Found with Little Red Shoes - 1st of 2 finds for the day. Decided to grab this one on the way to Hume sawmill.
A couple of engineers from VIC checking out the bridge construction nearby - what a hobby! Though, as a layperson, have to say the bridge is fairly impressive - as would be the river at full capacity (something unlikely to be seen in our lifetime)
After scrambling and poking about at 'GZ' indicated by GPS and coming up empty handed, reluctantly decided to mark this one up as a DNF. As we returned to geomobile decided to check out opposite side of bridge and actual hide located pretty quickly. Later determined GPS consistently 9m out for the day!

Scrambled around GZ (at least according to our GPSr) for quite some time and came up empty handed - the clue didn't help either. A bit dissapointed we made our way back to the car, and suddenly: "Hey this might fit the bill", and indeed a short while later we could sign our name in the log.

Thanks, found on the way to Wee Jasper. On the way back in the afternoon there was a drunk guy walking along the top of the bridge!
Nice location.. Found in the wet. Wow very slippery after 2" of rain..!!! Had fun thanks..
First for the day. After a early finish from work I decided to take a country drive to pick up a few caches.

Took a trip to Wee Jasper, collecting caches along the way. This was 9 of 15 for what was a very enjoyable day out in the country. TFTC
Disgustingly hot. Weed ridden spot and rubbish was everywhere. Makes you proud to be an Aussie! No luck in finding this cache. The clue was spotted but a good search failed to find the treasure. Magnificent bridge and the view of the river was lovely. Watch not only for snakes but broken and hidden barbed wire.
What a goat track this one turned out to be.. In the rain it was really muddy and slippery and parts of the track collapsed underfoot but cache found and signed in the end.
Worth the stop to admire the bridge and views..

While out for a drive to Wee Jasper took the opportunity to get this cache and have a swim. Dentoz was there as well but had found this cache a few months ago. Nice spot and bridge. thanks

found after a bit of searching and logged visit Thanks for another excellent hide.
The start of our road trip for the day, with Fitzy1965 and Tealby, and a great location to boot, the river certainly looks like its has grown with the recent rain.. great view of bridge and surrounding hills..
nice container too.
thanks
nice container too.

Beware that top step - it can be slippery with wet soles! Otherwise a straightforward start to my road trip with mtrax & Fitzy. I've not been out this way before, so thanks for the excuse to visit new territory.
Find of 20 finds on a run towards Tumut with Fitzy. Quick and easy, and the view across and up the hills on the otherside of the river are great.
Thanks for a neat hide to start our day.

1436 - The first cache on a run through Wee Jasper Forest and the Tumut region with Sol - a nice Sunday Drive really !
After the drive out from Canberra this morning it was nice to get out and stretch the legs - and find a cache ! Thats one solid bridge alright - enjoyed the scramble around it for a few minutes, as well as the well prepared container and log.
A quick sign and we were on our way...

This one had me scratching my head for a while with the grandmother roo today. Got to what i thought was gz and the gps decided it play up next to a bridge . Had to ring a friend but the phone lost connection. Was about to go as getting dark and I spotted something, thankgod for clues Signed the log and moved on TFTC
The river looked beautiful today. It was a perfect day to be caching on the way home from caving.
There were sheep dotting the steep hillside and and ducks all over the water. It was quite picturesque.

Found on way home from cub camp , way back in April last year (with Jemmalong and family), was only our 3rd or 4th find I think and now realise that we never logged it. Always boosts your cache numbers when you realise that you didnt log a find!
2 of 11. Driving home from a quick Wee Jasper caving trip, stopped by to have a look. Bethany found lots of melons growing on the flat below, not sure what type of if edible. We signed the log, went for a walk to the river and then into Yass for a feed.
Thanks Jemmalong for the invite to Wee J, a good excuse to go caching and caving in the one day.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache,
best wishes,

After a great cub camp and caving we found this one just before Polliwogs Also from our cub pack.
We have often thought of stopping here to go down the river but are usually very tired after camping and caving the cache gave us extra incentive.

#460....lovely day for a drive and a cache. Saw a person meditating on the middle sand bank of the river, looked very peaceful. So, we found cache and signed log quickly, TNLNSL, TFTC
#400 - what a wonderful cache to hit a milestone find. This bridge is awesome, and it would be fantastic to see the Murrumbidgee flow at full strength below it. As with others, the cache coord's are slightly out, but the clue provided the appropriate information to find the right place. Found at 2034HRS as the light started to fail. TFTC
I was looking for a cache on this road to give me a reason for a small break in the drive. I was on a circumnavigation of the ACT, having left Canberra the previous afternoon, driven to Cooma, then through to Talbingo for the night. Continuing on this morning I had turned off at Tumut and taken this more interesting route to Yass and back home.
The Bidgee may have been tame, but not so the local cache guardians. Because of some light rain drifting through the area I had put my rain jacket on, but even when the raindrops faded to nothing I had the hood up and was swatting those darn flies that were clambering all over me. My search was quick and clean using Wandering Aussie's coordinates. TNLNSL, TFTC.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 153 of a 6 month trip Wandering Australia. GPS took me to one side of the bridge, spent 10 minutes searching, then went for the hint. Another 10 minutes searching, but nothing there matched the hint, so I returned under the bridge, passing something matching the hint on the way back to the car.
SWMBO wasn't ready to continue driving, so I pulled out the iPaq and read some logs, especially the one by albida33. It all made sense then, so back over the stile and I finally made an easy find. I think the coords should be updated to something like S35°00.281' E148°50.894'.
I have to ask, why a micro? I could probably have hidden a 20 litre crate near here. I had a 1 litre rectangular cliplock in the kit (ready to go as WanAus 55) and it fitted where the cache was. A 1.5 Kg Milo tin wouldn't quite fit in the same space but would be easy enough to hide nearby. There are places where micros and nanos are the only choice, but I don't think this was one.
My find No 964, TNLNSL.

After a pleasant drive around the valley from Murrumbateman I was happy to see this old classic bridge. I even had the company of another tourist admiring the sight for a bit. I have to say I had all sorts of trouble getting a decent GPS hit on this one, I used two, and they never pointed to the correct side of the bridge. Anyway, with a last ditch effort I found the sneaky hide. Exactly as described as it turned out. Thanks.

Those "paddy-melon" things are heaps odd.
Found this one with Deevos (who made the find), Team Lavender and Hawk and Woo on a caving weekend after a long caching drought.
Yet again, I wouldn't recommend anyone do this with thongs on.
Thanks for the cache. Really great views of the mountains to what I believe to be the north east-ish.

Got this one on the way home from the Gone Bush Event with The Rats. Check out those Melons!
Climbed all over and around this magnificent structure, before admitting defeat and continuing on our journey... Loved the location and the bridge - will return (this time with the full cache description and hint!).
This is a great bridge, and lots of camel melons kept the geokids very amused. TFTC from team Socks.
Found on the bike under a setting sun!, love this bridge, have been over it countless times. Great cache location!.

Nice spot, very slippery here today as every thing wet and muddy. SL, thank you for the cache.
Found 3:00pm.
This is an area I like to cruise through often. A great spot to stop for a swim, except I'd come just after the rains and there was plenty of murky water coming down.
A quick find, in an odd bottle. What was originally in this bottle?
I planted a micro cache here the same week this one was planted, but left it there to see how well it would survive. The cache, if you can call it that, is still there, but the contents (just a small piece of paper with the cache name) didn't. It was one of 3 I planted in the area, and none of their contents survived either, but I've figured out now how to make them work. I'll replant and list them soon.

Wonderful bridge in a wonderful location. Was here about a year ago thinking there should be a cache here! Also, surprisingly, out in this remote location, no finds in some time, and I ran into winglen at GZ! After finding the cache, I walked over the bridge and took a few photos! Once on the bridge, I heard an occasional splash from below. That’s when I noticed numerous large fish just busking in the shallows. I recon I could have picked them up! TNLN, thanks Euco.
On my way to Tumut, so with a potential FTF at Wee Jasper I decided to try this route. Very interesting drive and a magnificent old bridge. To my surprise there was another cacher (I recognised the car and the Geocaching sticker ) Tankengine and I had a good chat while I logged.
The poor Murrumbidgee in is a sad state however. The politics of water is appalling: upstream in Canberra ACTEW and the Stanhope government congratulate themselves on helping out Canberra by taking water out of the Bidgee to supplement Cotter River supplies, so that Canberrans can fill their pools, water features and three bathrooms. Downstream the orchards and other food crops of the Bidgee and Murray catchments will wither, or have gone unplanted - vines, stone fruits etc. when will we learn?
Anyway, I enjoyed the cache thanks Euco. Nice spot.

547. Saw this one on the weekend and was going to do it yesterday after doing a run to Jindabyne.
I decided against that so headed out in bright sunshine to see if I could claim a FTF. I'd never driven out this way before and was enjoying the scenery until the descent started in the valley. The entire length and breadth of the valley was secreted by thick white fog. When I finally made it to the river I couldn't even see the other side.
Quickly made the find while slip sliding on the wet grass.
TFTC and for showing me the bridge.

Wouldn't that be the way. we got a data dump yesterday and uploaded it into the GPSr and the PocketPC. After visiting Wombat I decided to drive back to Canberra on this road as it is one of the places where I have always seen wombats. I told the wife about the bridge and how empty the dam is. We then continued on and found a wombat shortly after the intersection to Wee Japser. We are now home and notice that this cache was enable on the same day unfortunately it was not in our records, Oh well it will be one for next time./
