Think this cache has had a wonderful run at being just shy of 6 years old !!! It looks like it has been muggled again and I wont be able to get to checking any time soon so in the intrests of opening up the area for a local cacher I am sadly archiving this cache - thank you to all those that have found this cache ( and those that looked and couldnt find it !!!!
The hint was so specific, and we found the reamains of a hide under a few rocks, so I'm sure this one has gone. Such a shame as it is a very interesting location.
Thanks anyway niteowlnz

Too many muggles at the lookout further down the road. This one was much quieter. Quick find. TFTC
A quick hop skip and jump over the hot surfaces and quick log. The KibblewhiteKid did the swap while we signed the log. TFTC!
Staying in Momorangi Bay for the week and our first day there we werent allowed in the water Good thing we had planned to do some caching anyway. Accompanied by [red] Ariestiger [/red], [blue] Ben1998 [/blue] & his Mum. Kid Muggles: Luca & Jade and now new cachers ([green]Grant + Wendy007[/green]) Takes alot longer when you have more people This was our third stop of a long day. The boys jumped out of the car so they could find it first but they were at the wrong rock...LOL. Picked up the TB. Thanks for the cache
Sadly, it looks like this one has gone walkabout. W waited till all muggles had departed then had a good look round the wider area, including down hill, but to no avail. Would love to be proved wrong on this. Enjoyed the view though.
After biding our time outlasting muggles it wasn't to be. Applied the hint but still no luck today.
Hey, woof... JC Cache Dawg here...
Im loading all my finds from my Alpha Males (aka GenCuster) logs, where he deigned to remember that I was with him... As if he could forget...15:45

Found with Hinemoana and gencuster while in and around the north of the south island.

15:45 An interesting observation point. Voyager of the Seas was in. Quite a large cruise ship, dwarfing the (welcome to NZ) log piles. Or are they Cords? I liked the sanctuary across the 'varsity campus. JC Cache Dawg sniffed the breeze. Cheers, GC.

This cache was found as part of my epic as move down south to Christchurch from Auckland - A drive that involved around 3,000km, 350 caches, 14 days, and a bit of a detour through East Cape, Gisbourne, Napier/Hastings, some back roads in the Wairarapa, Cape Pallisier and Nelson/Tasman as well as every CANZ cache along the way that I was still missing. (Hence my excuse for the not as interesting log as I usually try to make mine.) But thanks to every awesome amazing as cacher that placed caches along these roads, you made my trip awesome, and very cache happy!
Decided to take the scienic more pretty coastal route to Nelson along the coast, and collected up this cache along the way.

Nice day in the sun after a view hard days of rain. Picton locals, and 1st geocache for the family. Opened the eyes to the possibilities of fun in our backyard, as well as the many times we had passed this place as muggles and not even know it.
Worthy of a favourite. Great to see a cache with a really interesting back ground...so much better than the 40 along Thompsons Track in Canterbury where there is no reason for any of them to be there.
Definitely worth a stop. We liked the landscaping, and all the information on the panels. Also liked the walk to the cache site plus the views in both directions. Great stuff. Thanks.
Awesome view of the wood wharf. Great piece of history too. Two favourites in a row, we might run out while going around the sounds.
Lovely sunny day - very welcome after all the rain. Great view of the University's resting place Youngest son, Shaun, found this
Cool site for a 'University'. Although nearby bench was occupied by a lunching muggle, he didn't pay us any attention and we could log this cache. Dropped GPS TB.
Interesting history for us North Islanders. Located cache quickly but need to warn next cachers about dog droppings in close proximity!
Short stop on our way to Christchurch, excellent weather for a cache. Found this Cache with Kockers.

Well I never knew about this "university" and worked in the meat industry a long time. Lovely viewing spot we hadn't visited before, and beautifully planted in the natives. Dropped off TB that I've had for far too long. Apologies to the owner, but due to circumstances beyond my control.
Interesting to learn about "Picton University" and to watch all the activity going on in the bay. TFTC
Found together with Lenka from SpeedyGT during our trip around New Zealand, TFTC!

Found quickly on our short visit to the South Island. Thanks for the cache niteowlnz.
Stopped here for an interesting view over the old "Picton University." We're on our way to pick up our own Degree. Quite busy at the carpark but less so at GZ and we quickly had the cache found and signed. Thanks.

Cache was out in the open. We cleaned it up and dried it out. The inside of the container was wet. We replaced it in the hide specified in the hint. Thanks for helping us understand the origins of Picton University. Quick drop and retrieve for TB "Violet Dana" who was recently living in Canada. However, we did leave a photo card of cache in the Cypress Hills from Saskatchewan Canada.

Found it after a while, but not where it was supposed to be. Nice place for a rest with a good view of log storage.
Second find of the day, on my journey from Picton to Nelson. This one had me searching for about five minutes... but I wasn't disturbed, so it was all good!
Thanks for the cache, niteowlnz

Found eventually but we think there has been a little cache creep going on here as ours were out about 3 - 4 m. Good views from the lookout TFTC.

It was nice to come back to this area and overlook the site of the old "Picton University" Drawp spent a couple of years as "dean" of the establishment over its last couple of years of operation in 1981-2. His office was probably one of the best in Picton at the time with unrestricted views back across to Picton. The Picton ferrys could be seen turning in the harbour prior to backing into the berth. On the other side in Shakespeare Bay the old Edwin Fox hulk lay near the far shore slowly decaying away or being pirated with chainsaws for the jarah timber. The ship was once used by the works for coal storage and was then moored on the Picton side. The Picton works was replaced by the Riverlands plant at 15 Valley south of Blenheim with all the Picton operations transferred to the new site over two successive years. Sadly this new modern meat works was closed down some years later in June 2002. So much for a little history thanks for bringing us back to visit a vastly different outlook from the hill.
The cache has crept a little and is now N 2m from the plaque.

Nice spot and a quick find using the hint. It was about here that I started feeling some pain in my finger and noticed that it had swollen up to about 1.5x after getting pricked by a thorn at an earlier cache. Ah well, time and finds don't wait for no man, or something like that, so on we went on our 24hr non-stop mission... TFTC!!!
