This area has become a disgusting mess thanks to the feral pigs who can't wait 10 minutes to get the to next town to take a dump. Archiving for health and safety reasons.
Two of us spent quite a while searching at and around GZ without any luck. Given the string of DNFs, it would be worth the CO checking on whether it is still there (and perhaps considering relocating it away from what seems to have become a fairly unpleasant toileting area).
Traveling to bendigo I stoped by this cache. Had a look around for a few minutes, but came up with nothing. With time of the essance I decided to give up and move on.
Awesome cache! Not actually an ammo box anymore, it's now a thermos. Dropped off a trackable!
With 4 days off over the Easter weekend, I suggested to the geowife a roadtrip to Adelaide. Our first destination was Boadertown for the night. A 6.5 hour drive took 9.5 due to a few car accidents either side of Ararat, but we pulled into the caravan park and rested up ready to do the rest of the trip the net day.
We spent the next day caching along the way trying to do more of my 0-1000 challenge. I already had 0-530kms. This was the next in the series of caches id planned out. A great sized little container and a great look at the railway. Left a TB for the next finder.

We soon found this nice sized cache once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and for the interesting information on the cache page. Greetings from Zimbabwe
TFTC. We left Dimboola this morning in the direction of Murray Bridge caching as we went. We stopped as many times as we could, but sometimes a bit difficult stopping the Motorhome with a car in tow. We had a good day and only got as far as Tintinara. .
Greta bit of history attached to this area. Found it just as a car load of muggles pulled up.

Had so much fun looking for this cache - off the main drag and off the tracks - can see why geokids need to be looked out for !! Such a great sized cache - really enjoyed looking for it - despite the pokey bits from the grasses nearby!!

Another good reason to stop and stretch the legs and then find this one.
Why do people have treat the country side as a local dumping ground.
One of the plaques have been removed but a bit of info to read.
Thanks Beaker TFTC.

Find No. 2492. Found at 6.19pm.
We were in Mount Barker, South Australia, for the week, for our Annual holidays to follow the Tour Down Under Bicycle Race.
Today is our last day, watching the race in McLarenvale and Willunga. When the race finished we headed for home back through Mount Barker which we have grown to love so much.
Now on the highway, we stopped off out of Mount Barker for a cache and here we are out of Tintinara to grab another. This was out last cache find for the journey home. A rather long trip ahead of us back to central Victoria
Took a while to find this one, guess the heat and travelling was getting to us. Nice to find a large size container though.

Out and about on a road trip to Adelaide, I was particularly targeting Wherigo and letterbox caches but there are a lot of other interesting caches to be found, this being one of them.
A quick stop here as I was in a new LGA.
Cache was eventually found after walking in a few circles
**Thanks to -Beaker- for placing this cache.**

Out for the day with 2 goals in mind, collect a new LGA and attend the events in coonalpyn and kaniva. A successful day with 42 caches found and 1 DNF. What a weird spot and yes it does look like a desert. No hot coffee in the cache unfortunately though TFTC
Found! And almost stepped on a big brown snake on the way back Arh!! Swapped one dinosaur for a triceratops. Thanks for the cache.. and 're education about wearing boots lol
Our 6 month sojourn to the far parts of Australia is now coming to an end as we leave Adelaide this morning and make the dash home to Victoria. Not a bad day for traveling, but always a good day for caching.
Making good time, even with a pit stop for a cuppa and to change drivers. It’s been years since we’ve driven this road, and the number of large trucks has really increased.
A short walk into the scrub and then we were able to sign the log.

We're currently on a road trip from Hobart to Adelaide. This cache was found as we travelled from overnight accommodation in Padthaway, to Murray Bridge.
This cache had two things going for it:
* It's just down the road from the "town" (dunno if you can really call it that) of Coombe, which holds a special significance for the Nataliec1234 clan.
* It was at a convenient time in our trip to stop and stretch the legs a bit.
As promised, the site was awash with litter (does no-one ever empty the bins?), so we stashed a little to dispose of ourselves when we next stopped.
The cache itself was a easy find, right at the posted coordinates. Was quickly located, log signed, swaps made, then replaced.

Found during a trip to Adelaide with Pacman, Jacko83, SedgewickDave, Tritonz and Homburg for a caching trip adventure that would include many hikes, kayaking and getting some tricky D/T's.
The trip was well planned with months of preparation; solving puzzles, planning the best road routes, caches to find and kayaking to do. We had a great time and the SA cachers are commended for their caches.
Thanks for the cache

After find what I thought was the cache I found the real one. Quick one on the way home to geelong
Found on our way home from our whirlwind roadtrip to Adelaide with wozzle68 for his birthday.
We had actually tried this one a year ago, but had forgotten to log the DNF.
Not sure how we missed it back then as it was an easy find today.

On our way home from Mount Barker after visiting Mum (hevwalker) for the week.
Still have that geo bug so caching our way home.
Took longer than needed on this one.
Was looking in the wrong place.
Then we spotted it.

Very exciting. Thought we would break up our trip to Melbourne by finding this. Cool hiding spot.
Found eventually. Had given up but geohubby persisted and was rewarded in an area I had already searched ad beo g te most likely according to my GPS. Tftc
Saw this one on the way home and thought we'd better stop in. Awesome cache, took me a while but once the GPS settled it was a nice easy one. Cheers for the cache
A nice place to stop and stretch the legs and a great spot for a cache.

Number #2 on our road trip down the South East coast. I thought I had it within about 30 seconds of looking, but it turned out to be some random truck part . With a bit more trekking through the black boys I found the container. TFTC
Driving back to Adelaide after repairing my car in Melbourne, post animal incident three weeks ago. Being time poor I wasn't in a position to get many caches, so I opted to go after the older ones. This was my first for the trip (I wanted to hit the SA border before dark), and I managed to get there with enough light to navigate around. Took a while as my GPSr was bouncing all over the place, but eventually it settled and I found the nice large container. Didn't take trackable. Thanks for placing this cache to break up my journey and TFTC Beaker!
I turned a bit around in circles before finding. I dropped a TB, oh, there’s only a tag and chain left but I brought it from Europe and I hope someone will keep it traveling.

Me and the Ridgeo-pup are continuing the road trip after the ALEX17 Mega and now heading from Horsham to Adelaide today.
I needed to chuckayewey to get this one, but all good as you can see for miles down the long flat highway here. I was just thinking I would like to get a photo of the flowering xanthorrhoeas and this cache gave me that opportunity. Good sized cache is in good condition in a fantastic location. Thanks for the cache Beaker

Time to stretch the legs - & scratch the legs as we headed the long way to the cache! A quick find here once we made our way to GZ.
After 4 great days of exploring Adelaide and surrounds, it was time to set off home- a lazy 600km with the geo-kids neisha07 & boo09 in the back.
As we left, the rain was consistent but light so we made sure to nab the cache at the entrance to our caravan park that we had not yet had time to do, also ensuring we had at least 1 SA cache to help with our 2 states in a day challenge that had been signed last year but not yet qualified for.
A quick find was made while muggle Dad checked us out and off we went.
It rained heavily for the next 2 hours with only small spurts of decent weather to stop off. As we headed closer to home the weather began to behave much more and we made it home about 4.30pm, just in time for the kids Little Aths that evening!
A great trip away that went far too quick. We will back to explore more of Adelaide and surrounds sometime soon hopefully! TFTC!

I can certainly see why they named it the 90-mile desert. Sparse scrub and paddocks would have once been covered in limestone. They certainly seem to do quite well today although it has been a good winter in many parts.
GZ was quickly found although it does appear to be in a very unsavoury spot and it is clear that this wayside stop could use toilet facilities.
Dropped a trackable since the container was so spacious.

We are traveling to Adelaide and I asked my mum if we could get this app and she said yes. So I downloaded it and when we were driving down the free way, lucky us, there was ONE, geocache. So we stopped on the other side of the road. After skirting the area and dodging the toilet paper. We walked around near the railway track and I bounced on the old broken mattress for about 10 seconds. Then we walked around the spiky bushes, and I jumped into one, on purpose. But then we found it in a nice neat place in the bush. Don't worry, we put it back in the same spot. It was fun. It also gave us something to do while travelling.
Thanks
Thanks
Heading back to Melbourne after a short visit to Adelaide, time to stop and stretch the legs. Crazy weather, strong west wind blowing and raining at the rest stop. A muggle parked behind me just after I arrived, i got out of the car and took shelter from the rain but not from the wind. Muggle looked like they had settled in for a longer break. GPS showing cache was only 25 meters into the low scrub, switch the torch on and headed off to find a well camouflaged hide.
Some muggle is now probably telling a story of some person walking into the darkness with a torch at 1am on a very cold wet and windy night in the middle of the Australian out back.
Thanks team Beaker for the cache and the experience.

Thanks for the cache and sharing the history of the area. Quick find on our drive to Adelaide.
#12305. Day 34, and we are on our way home from Adelaide, heading to Horsham for the night. Picked up the odd few along the way and a few more once we reached town. A perfect Autumn day apart from a lot of smoke from burning off.
Good to stop here for a break and search for a good sized container. Might be a good idea to change the cache description seeing that it is NOT an ammo can any more. How did that happen?
Interesting to read about the stock not coping on the poor soil. A similar situation to the coastal land around Robe but with different trace elements it seems.
Took a while to locate the cache. Dropped in a large TB to continue its travels.
Thanks -Beaker-

Boom and we have started the new year with a bang, first find for the parents a great introduction to geocaching! Thank you. Left a bug
Seems the desert is living up to its name today. Harrowang and I (Ava) are travelling from Mt Barker to Nhill and the first leg of our journey home to NE Victoria. I loved the large container with all its goodies inside. I took an eraser to add to my collection and left a dinosaur and some beads. TFTC -Beaker-
Sure is hot in the desert today, 33 degrees, apart from in the a/c geoCruiser! Making our way to the SA/Victoria border with Ava from Beavar. SL at 12.43pm Took: eraser & Chinese ball Left: dinosaur, beads & windmill PT Loved the large size and shape of the cache container #4337 TFTC -Beaker-

Thanks -Beaker- for placing and maintaining this cache.
needed a break from the wheel going over to the anglesea mega in Victoria even got teased over at the mega for missing the path tag that tomboy picked up.
The ammo box seems to have long gone, but the replacement is still up to the task .
TNLNSL.
Nice to see a couple of the plaques are still here [^], but we have our doubts about the surveillance cameras [:o)].
Thanks Beaker.
Now time to head north through the dunes [^].

It was dark by the time we reached this cache, but we had time for one more quick and easy drive by before we called it quits for the day. That was a mistake, we spent a long time searching high and low before geoturtle37 finally came up with the goods. Now ll we had to do was get to Gawler before the bistro shut at our stopover for the night. We took a TB and dropped off another. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Classic cache found on our way back from Mt Gambier. Left three TBs and four path tags. Great spot to stop. TFTC a beauty!!
A bit of a search requiring me to return to the car and get my trusty geo poking stick. Found it very quickly then. Great cache.

GoodLook really wanted that pretty shiny thing and so CPwanderer joined us for a road trip to St Arnaud
After a short stop in Kaniva, Mrs muff1 joined us too
We had heaps of fun with Harry exploring the bush tracks and giving CP a few heart attacks
GoodLook learned a new skill and became quite proficient at locking in Harry's 4WD hubs [^]
Today was a driving day with only 13 caches found and lots of great companionship on the journey made the driving easy
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
This cache has taunted me since I started caching as for a variety of reasons I have never been able to stop and find it
Today, I decided enough was enough and temporarily disabled or not, I was stopping!
It helped that there was a couple at the plaque who looked very much like geocachers
Turns out they weren't ... they were actually gnome nappers who had stolen their daughter's gnome and were taking it on a trip taking photos as they went and then posting the pthotos on the gnome's FB page.
Seemed to me they'd be brilliant geocachers [^]
After explanations from each side as to why we were all at the same plaque, we headed into GZ to look for this cache.
I'd rung the person who replaced it some years ago and was advised it was a snaplock container.
What was eventually found was not a snap lock container but it was a nice size container!
Cache and contents were all in great condition and my GPSr had me at 1m at the cache.
Sp pleased to have finally found this one and I even got a toot from the train driver as I took photos as he passed.
