My daughters and I met up with a great group of friends for a fun weekend of caching and hiking. The weather was a bit iffy and we got a bit of a shower at times but it was a really great weekend. This cache was found on an enjoyable walk. We got a lift with bfJ to the starting as our car was a little low and glad we did as it was a bit bumpy. then the walk was pretty tough going for me in parts, I was a bit co vid unfit and not feeling 100% but the views were def worth the effort. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
I was out on the trail today with Mighty Minions, Banj5150, eemiaj, lee737, Samuel737 and Oliver737. Our primary goal was the Fortress virtual which was to be Team737's 5000th find, but they suggested we should do this one along the way so I was happy for the chance, having heard great stories about the views.
After parking near the listed coordinates, I headed off down the trail and quickly found WP1. It was slightly damp inside but the laminated information was fine. Then it was back to the cars for the drive along the somewhat potholed road to the start of the walking track. There was one spot at the top of a rise that might be a bit problematic for low-clearance 2WDs, but after we returned from our walk there was one of those in the car park so perhaps not.
At WP2 we stopped to admire the views but, like the previous finders, couldn't locate the container. Fortunately lee737 had the coordinates for WP3 so, after pausing for photos and some refreshments, we headed on.
At WP3, I started searching on one side of the big rock only to have Mighty Minions immediately spot it on the other side. The container here has a large split in the side, letting plenty of water in, but the lamination is standing up okay. With the coordinates decoded, it was then off along the ups and downs to GZ for some more stunning views.
I followed my GPSr out to where it was pointing while the others watched on, searching at first in one spot until retreating a couple of metres to where I quickly spotted the container. Unfortunately it too had taken on a fair bit of water and the logbook was pretty damp although still signable. Although I couldn't see any obvious cracks, the container is looking crazed and brittle.
Many thanks for this enjoyable tour along the ridge and for bringing me to this amazing scenery.

After our note posted yesterday and a little help from the last to find (Thank you!), we went back to the trail today to search for WP3 and GZ. Both found easily. WP3 container is cracked open and was full of dead baby spiders! Spiders cleared out now but cache could do with a new container or at least some duct tape. GZ is in good condition although log book is damp I think from condensation. I'd love to know if WP2 still exists as I feel we kind of cheated a little by not being able to find it despite the search.
What a stunning walk which we really enjoyed. It would be quite exposed on hot sunny days and even today we got a little pink. Amazing views and certainly walls galore! I really love this side of the Blue Mountains. The wildflowers at this time of year add to the scenery. Thanks for taking us to such a wonderful walk @pjmpjm that without this multi we may have missed. Picked up a NASA space TB that's been waiting patiently for a year to move on! Oh, and there was a lizard in the GZ cache! (See photo).

We're confident we reached the clue location of WP2. Searched all over and also similar areas within a 10 m radius all around. No luck. We noted the last finds were just over a year ago now and both had asked for help to get WP3 coords after not finding WP2. Thanks for taking us to an amazing location. Sad we couldn't complete the full cache and would love to know if it is still out there!

This milestone turned into a beauty.
We'd been planning our 4000th find out here for a couple of years, but for a different cache, which, with a weather forecast of a rainy weekend (especially today) seemed unwise to risk with my son. So WALLS GALORE! was promoted from support act to the main event, and didn't disappoint in the slightest.
We had found WP1 last year, so parked and made our way to WP2, in deteriorating wind and temperatures. WP2 is a gorgeous spot, and would be a great spot to sit and take in the views for hours. We were too busy though - we had a container to find, and could not find it. There was a SPOR at our GZ - only home to a dead scorpion, no coords. I did a pretty exhaustive radius search, even in some spots a little exposed, and came up with nothing. It was getting really quite cool, and we made the decision to send off some PAFs for help with coords to WP3, and kept searching with no luck. Eventually, dejectedly we headed back towards the main track, figuring we'd have to go that way anyway.
In the meantime our messages had found sympathetic ears, and we were off with some coords (thanks guys!). WP3 was a quick find, the container being pretty battered now and no longer waterproof, the laminating still holding up OK.
The walk to GZ was simply awesome, with views of Flat Top, of course the walls, and Lockleys Pylon, which we walked to a few years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and agree with and quote Team Webguy in saying its a "definite Mountains Classic cache!!".
As we walked the weather actually improved, and turned into a beautiful morning for a 10km walk with my boy - cool, cloudy and not a drop of rain (maybe a couple). The walk was pretty flat (especially for the Blue Mountains!), with some undulations, but very easy terrain. GZ gave us a few shaky minutes before the GPS settled, and the original cache was found at 2-3m, in great condition. We left a new TB of ours to start its journey.
We checked out the views at the end of the track, and could have dropped down into the canyon for sure, but decided a return trip would be great anyway, and next time we'll bring the DSLR and a wide angle lens.
Thanks of course to banksia777 for placing, and pjmpjm for keeping it going.

Came down here in hopes to get the close by virtual Fortress but the deteriorating weather told us to do this one. We had found WP1 last year on a trip to Leura, but we decided not to as we were with my grandparents. Anyways, when we got to WP2 my eye caught glimpse of a small SPOR corresponding nicely to the hint, But all we did was dug up a scorpions grave...
After about 10 minutes of intense searching we decided to do some PAF's as we were starting to get a tad risky with looking. We eventually gave up and just told ourself, WP3 will only be further along the track. So we walked away from WP2 and got a couple of messages giving us some hints towards WP3 from a few cachers (thanks!).
When we got to WP3 we made a quick find and headed off to the Final Coords of the GZ. When we arrived at GZ we made a decently quick and easy find!!! Had an AWESOME time doing this cache, and has definitely earned an FP from me

Quite an easy find in the finish (the coords were spot on by our reckoning). The multi provided a great adventure with some spectacular scenery. Picked a glorious day to finally go to GZ - which we had calculated some time ago. Cache is in good condition. Signed and replaced. TFTC
We started our trip with the car and grabbed the WP2 coordinate. But we were stopped on our way at the cache “Mt. Hay Roadside” by a road closure. We parked the car and walked to WP2 and enjoy the view. Then we went to WP3 (windy area). At GZ quick found.
After signed it we went to the cache “Fortress”. We didn’t expect to go up there. It was a long day with 20km done in 7hr.
Thanks for the journey. We really enjoyed this walk and all the view are amazing. +1FP

Got the coordinates for waypoints 1,2 and 3 sometime ago and finally had the opportunity to walk to WP4 and cache today. Loved it all. Great walks.
Started.... we are planning a walk to Fortress at some point..... this one is tucked into the GPS for safe keeping. WP1 found today, in good shape, excellent coordinates.
Grabbed the WPs around doing the Fortress canyon, all still in ok condition. Some great little side tracks to other walks completed too. Found the cache a little further up than I had anticipated which meant it was pretty well torch light at GZ. TFTC!!!!
We started this cache two years ago on our previous visit to Australia. That time we found stations 1 & 2. This time we were able to find 3 and the final. Great views but the wind blew a gale.
A great experience.

I stated on this cache about 2 years ago, but doesn't manage to get to wp2 until i was on the way out from a trip through fortress canyon. My fellow canyoners were muggles.
After working out where wp3 was, i was to tired to go back in that direction to finish.
Today i had organised a trip through fortress canyon, this time with only geocachers, so i could find the last two way points.
Found on the way out from a cold but enjoyable trip.
Thanks for the cache.

I completed this multi cache with noodles and delloro on our way back from the canyon,a fun multi and the views are really quite amazing,I noticed a split in the container at WP3 but content is fine.
Thank you pjmpjm for the cache

Nice to finally get this one done. Picked up the final on our way out of Fortress Canyon today. Not sure what I enjoyed more - the view or the fact that I was beginning to be able to feel my feet again!

Found with Team Canary on a trip out to capture the new Fortress Virtual Cache
We picked up the first way point and went from there. Some great views along the way and lots of walls. An easy find with more great views. We completed the signing duties and re hid.

Wow what a trek. 3 wp's and finally gz. Great views but wouldn't want to do it summer! Fantastic clues and would not have come out here if not for gz. Found with h0pelessly l0st.

Came to WP1 in between finding "Mt. Hay Roadside" and "Mt. Hay Glimpses". Found the container and stored the coords for WP2. Hmmm, a little bit too far to go today, given I only have a short window left for caching this morning. Pity...all those unloved days up for grabs....

Reperio at 1500.
Having started this one a while ago, I had located WP1, but didn't have time to venture to WP2...so had to leave it for another time. Today I was passing by on the way to the 'Fun At Fortress' canyoning event, so I stopped by for a visit to WP1, as well as finding the nearby traditional cache. As I met up with the rest of the gang at the carpark for the event, they happened to mentioned that we would be passing by a WP or two...so if I wanted to find this cache...now would be the time to save having to make a return trip. With The Rats also needing to find this one...we sat down with the final information at lunch, and worked out where GZ was. Fortunately for us...it was located on our way back to the car. Once we made the short trek to GZ, we were greeted by some very nice views to enjoy. Great to have this one on the found list...for without attending the canyoning event...it would have stayed unfound for a while longer.
Gratias pjmpjm.

This cache was an added bonus to our day of canyoning. I grabbed the 1st WP on the way to the event and then as luck would have it we detoured via the other waypoints as headed for the canyon.
While at the end of the canyon we decoded the last wp clue and realised we'd be passing by GZ soon. After climbing up from the creek we all stopped to enjoy the views from GZ and add our names to the log.
Thanks

Revisited today following a canyoning event, which was fantastic. Today the weather was clear and the views were awesome. Great to see it all!
Stopped by WP1 on my way to a walk nearby. Container was in place but slightly damp. Dried everything out. Laminated WP2 will be easily readable even if WP1 is completely wet. There's a fire trail suitable for walking about 100 metres beyond (north of) WP1.
Wow, what an amazing cache experience!
Did not expect this one to take so long, but the trails were pretty tough and rocky.
Found WP1 after a short search and then we were off to WP2... A long walk! After making it and finding the WP, spent some time admiring the absolutely stunning beautiful views before proceeding.
Track got steeper, narrower and harder going towards WP3 but made it without too much trouble. Container is a bit cracked, might need some duct tape or similar.
Then it was on for young and old in the push for GZ, which was almost completely overgrown at many parts and a really tough last bit. Similar to Camp 4 to Everest perhaps?
Finally found GZ in sprinkling rain and paused for a bit with limited visibility before making the hike back.
Great day out and fantastic views that few get to see. Thanks for the cache, a favourite from me!

I was so looking forward to this but I think I will need to come back on a clear day and do it again. This morning was wet and misty but it was the only chance I had to do this cache.
I saw some of the walls at WP2 but no views were available at the other waypoints. No complaints though as I thoroughly enjoyed the walk.
Thanks pjmpjm. The cache is in good shape. Found at 10:07 am.

I've known about this cache for a long time as it is very close to the canyon. Problem was previous trips into the canyon with muggles meant no cache for me. Today was different. Altaire and I decided on a nice trip into Fortress Creek canyon. Wpt 1 was found easily, especially when you can park right near it. Not much effort required here. We then drove to the Fortress carpark, heaved our packs onto our backs and headed to Wpt 2. This had outstanding views over the valley below. Quite a large wpt container too. Lady Altaire spied a rather large black snake on the way in but i never saw a thing but this didn't matter as today was to be the day of the animals. After enjoying the views at wpt 2 I replaced the container then got such a fright when I saw a furless tail moving. What is that? My first thought was a baby snake. Then I saw a leg in the air trapped behind the container. Oh no, hope I didn't just squash something. Not really knowing what to do, I moved the container to find a rather frightened mouse cowering at the back. Not squished to my relief. Now what... we replaced the container again but the mouse hadn't moved and again I thought I may have squashed it or hurt it or even entrapped it. so again we removed the container and there it was, still scared witless. We gave it an escape route and it ran for its life. Satisfied, we replaced the container. Having worked out where wpt 3 was we could now continue on to the canyon. the day was still cloudy so the heat was still at bay. Wpt 3 was soon found and whilst trying to shoo away the numerous flies, I deciphered wpt 4. That would have to wait as we were now off to do the canyon, which I'd done numerous times before. Once again the cool water and slot like sections did not disappoint, and an exhilarating 6m jump was fun. After enjoying the canyon and a lunch at the end of Fortress Creek which spills over the cliff face we made our way up the exit track. The day was now very hot and I sure felt the weight on my back and the steepness of that track. We headed for GZ which had absolutely no shade to rest in but the views were superb even though I was finding it difficult to enjoy them at that point in time. It was just so hot with the sun beating down. With the caching business complete, my thoughts were of a long cold drink, so off along the sunburnt track back to the car. Awesome cache with every wpt well placed and showcasing some great views.
Went out last Sunday with bisygisy - a trip that we had been planning for several weeks, and finally found a date we both were available.
After meeting at WP1 on the overcast morning with rain forecast we decided we'd give it a go anyway.
The trail gate shut being shut resulted in a few kilometres of extra walking and the rain between WP3, GZ and back to the fire trail we definitely earnt the terrain and difficulty rating.
Unfortunately the mist and fog prevented us from seeing the walls except at WP1.
Thanks pimpim for maintaining an excellent Banksia777 cache!
Definitely an area I'll return to just for the view.

It was time again for another milestone. I had met joegleeson_25 at the Spring Bluies event and afterwards I thought I'd ask him if he'd like to come out with me to do this cache. At the time I didn't realise it was going to be my 800th find. I had to resist yesterday when at the Warragamba event and not do any of the new caches on offer. For that matter I still had caches down there to find anyway. Reading the weather forecast the previous night I was wondering if it was a good idea to proceed with this trip. We decided we would give it a go since it was only overcast when we started at 8.50am. Off we drove to Fortress Ridge but found closed gates at the Mt Hay gates. Rain jackets were decided upon. We ended up doing an additional 3.5km walk to Fortress Ridge. Which made for a long tiring walk with the rain once we went past WP3. WP1 was found by my accomplice. WP2 I managed to find quite easily. At this point the views were still visible. My accomplice found WP3 but it was quite obvious where it would be. During this stage the rain had made the track quite wet and our trousers and shoes had become saturated. At GZ the mist had really set in and visibility was zero. We stopped briefly to have lunch but the rain got heavier. For two thirds of the trip back we had constant rain but by the time we reached the main fire trails the rain had subsided. It was great to be on the main track again as our clothes quickly dried and was much easier to walk. Didn't mind finding the multi-cache in the rain. This all added to the whole adventure. I think in the end we ended up walking much more than we intended. We estimated a total of 14 km at least. Thanks oegleeson_25 for coming along and thanks pjmpjm for allowing these great caches to be still available for all of us newbies to continue having great experiences.

#400 ... and a Banksia777/pjmpjm cache to remember.
A late moment ask of All Strung Out whether the WALLS GALORE! multi would appeal (sitting on #399 something special did beckon!).
A pickup at Leura on a glorious Springtime Bluies morning, with the cicadas already in full song early, it was off to WP1 ... and a relatively easy find with the dive bombing songsters.
On to WP2, and what can one say of a vista as grand as can be viewed here, but that it is an awesome location that leaves a GeoCacher humbled, indeed.
(An aside...the Jonnosan GCA virtual cache, Dr Dark's Cave, was nearby, and a detour in the WALLS quest was quickly decided to pursue this 'historic' location ... with great appreciation!)
Backtracking and on to WP3 down a rough firetrail, and onward across soft sand and river pebbles (on the ridge?!). This WP soon in hand, despite the hordes of pesky flies, but a grand view of Flat Top, and on to the prize of the cache over a kilometre away on a now then very warm Spring sunny afternoon.
Some rough stone and rock tested old ankles/knees, and an undulating track over the heath took us to a rocky outcrop ... to a view of 'near' distant Walls, and a Cache with years of logs within.
Marvellous, and a joy, with the sun shining/the wind wipping in gusts/and with weary legs... the Log was with due reverence signed.
My deep appreciation to Greg (of All Strung Out) for the company on what was a memorable #400 day.
For the late Banksia777, simply Thank You for a Cache that can bring folk to a location that leaves one humbled within the vistas; and to pjmpjm for maintaining the Cache.

Accompanied whitemushroom on this one for his 400 Milestone! Good choice of cache!!!
Started off on a warm spring day, not sure how many Kms we walked but with the detour to Darks Cave, I think it be around 8 Kms.
With walls everywhere it is not hard to see why Banksia777 named it thus, and had the 'shroom taking numerous photos along the way.
A great little adventure, highly recommended to all!
Thanks for maintaining this cache Pjmpjm.

What a great cache! We have been out before, but not for a few years so we had forgotten what fantastic views are to had from various locations on the ridge. It was a magic day - spring flowers were out , the day was clear and sunny and while at GZ having our lunch a wedge-tailed eagle was riding the thermals in the valley below. Definately a favourite point from us.
Replaced John's old WP1 container with a large one, that should be completely waterproof. However, the laminated coords for WP2 were only very slightly damp. New container will allow TBs and GCs to be dropped here.
This was a great fun walk. I'm sure there were some spectacular views out there, but all I got today were tantalizing glimpses through the mist. It wasn't really raining, but I was soaked through to the skin long before I got to WP2 from all the water on the vegetation that lined the overgrown paths. All the coords were spot on for the way-points and the final so they were all nice speedy finds. Didn't see a single muggle either for the entire walk which makes a change. TFTC x
Finally, success! I returned with Toriaz today to complete this multi. We had a slight detour at the beginning. Okay, it was a big one. Some coordinates may have been entered incorrectly, and we may have driven to the end of Mount Hay Road, and we may have done another cache out there and two trigs as well, but hay! hay!, we made it back eventually!
There was nothing ever difficult about this cache. It was just several kilometres walk through some of the most brilliant landscape in the mountains. We'd had blue skies in the morning but by the time we were heading towards waypoint three the clouds were rolling over and we had periods of very light precipitation. We actually managed to finish the cache and get back to the car before any serious weather set in, and that wasn't until we were heading back down the mountain.
All the waypoints were easy to find and designed to take us to different views along the way, although by the end of this multi the views were endless, living up to the name of the cache. The landscape rolled like grassy hills, sloping down to the sheer cliffs of the Grose in gentle undulations. Deep chasms knifed through the valleys, and the high walls of the Grose were softened by needles of water that dissolved into spray. The Grose is one of those places where you are confronted with a vast, numinous space that reduces your existence to a flickering moment.
When we returned to the car and drove back to the highway and the rain started we returned to something mundane; something profane. Some argue that the Romantics invented the modern relationship with nature. But I can't help feeling that ordinary folk like us didn't need the poets to tell us that places like the Grose are somewhere special inside of us. As promised, a favourite from me. Thanks

I came out here last Sunday to do this cache with my children. We found WP1 & WP2 easily, but somehow I misentered the coordinates for WP3 into my GPS & thought we had to go out to Mt Hay to continue. I didn't think the children were up to that last weekend, so came back with bikerbuddy today ready for a long walk. He trusted I'd entered the coordinates correctly & didn't think to check them until we parked at Mt Hay & were about to follow the arrow over a cliff. Yep, I stuffed up badly, but that stuff up led to us doing the other great cache in the area, so it was really serendipity .
Anyway, Hay Hay It's ... logged, we re-entered the correct coordinates for WP3 & headed out on the right track. Easy find for that one & onto to GZ, past some of the most spectacular scenery I've ever seen.
It's obvious from the overgrown track that not many people come out this way, but more people should venture out this way to see the stunning walls & valleys. The cache itself was an easy find for bikerbuddy at GZ. After signing & replacing, we walked the rest of the way & sat for a time just looking out.
Thanks to banksia777 for creating such a great cache & to pjmpjm for adopting this one & keeping it going. This one is high on my recommended caches list .
Sorry Jonno, after this one & Mt Hay earlier in the day, we weren't up to your suggested detour. Maybe another time .

Finally getting around to doing this cache. Did the first two waypoints with the family this afternoon. Can't wait to get back and finish it. I already know I'm going to give it a favourite. I mean, look at where I'm standing in this picture!
We're on our way to finding this one-two down and two to go!The whole family enjoyed the start of it...and the views!!!! Unbelievable!!! Will be back to finish it soon.
Wow! Loved everything about this cache. Thanks banksia777 for placing the cache and for pjmpjm for maintaining it and bringing us on this amazing adventure. Loved each of the different waypoint finds....nearly didn't find the first one because it was so obvious. At the second waypoint we met some other walkers and we explained all about geocaching and they were so excited to find out about it and looked at us like we were special aliens that they wanted to touch. Think we've hooked some other muggles into becoming geocachers. The walk was superb on a beautiful summer's day - no rain, sun shining, but not too hot. The views were amazing and we stopped and had one picnic at waypoint 2 and the other just past gz. Rolls and a cup of tea tasted equisite at the end of the walk. A favourite from me. Picked up TB to drop off somewhere more accessible.
WOW! What a magnificent experience!
For me this is what Geocaching is all about!
I grew up in the Blue Mountains, yet this is the first time that I have walked Fortress Ridge. Geocaching was probably the only reason why Wackydo and Myself would have come out this way. I have been out to Mt. Hay a few times before, but it was all new for Wackydo! I can now say that this walk today was a lifetime experience I wont forget.
Today was one of those Summer days where the weather was perfect, with a few clouds and a slight breeze. Great for a hike. The views are just magnificent!! I'll say it again. The views are just magnificent!
Last month we had made a stop at Evans Lookout after spending a weekend at another part of this magnificent Country. We were standing at Evans Lookout, gazing across at what we now know is "Walls Galore", and saying, "wouldn't exploring over there be fun". Who would've known?
Anyway, We were having a short break at WP2, admiring the majestic view when as we were contemplating what was required for WP3, we heard some voices coming over the ridge. Muggles??!! Bugger!! We still had WP2 in our hands and were absolutely amazed that on a working weekday, we could be Muggled all the way out here!! We welcomed an Elderly Couple who were from Canberra following a listed Bushwalk that they were exploring. We struck up a conversation and at the end were able to introduce them to the wondeful world of Caching! They seemed amazed and excited about the concept.
All in all, finding the Cache when we arrived at GZ was only a small part of the experience that "Walls Galore" has to offer. It's definately a place that I will be coming back to. Thanks for taking this Cache over Pjmpjm. It is truly magnificent!!

Having done a few (all?) of the Banksia777/pjmpjm caches I knew I was in for a bit of a trek and some great views. This certainly didn't disappoint ,
I was a little late starting than I'd planned but fortunately had no issues finding wp1 and the road was good enough for my 2wd to get all the way to the locked gate at the start of fortress ridge fire trail. In fact the worst bit of the road was from wp1 to the start of the national park, I guess the national park section has been very recently graded so now would be a good time to visit.
Wp2 was an easy find with really great views. Unfortunately I didn't follow instructions too well and took the wrong turnoff on the way to wp3. After trekking along a pretty steep track I came across what looked like a very clumsily hidden geocache but was (according to a conveniently placed bit of paper) in fact the remains of a 1940's family campground. There was some aweaome caves and a beautiful waterfall and my GPSr kept dropping hints that if I kept going I would get to WP3 but eventually the path was taking me along a very narrow ledge with some very big drops off the side and I figured that sort of terrain would have been well and truelly called out if that was were I was meant to go, so I turned back the way I came. It was a great little side journey though so I have lefty note in wp2 with coordinates of where the turnoff is if anyone else wants the same diversion.
The unexpected side trip took about an hour so it was very much the heat of the day by the time I was on the proper route to wp3. I didn't stay too long at that point, just got the instructions and moved on. The laminated sheet has 'bled' a little but fortunately the critical info is perfectly legible.
The final waypoint was just awesome. I swapped a polish banknote for some novelty glasses. Once I'd eaten lunch and admired the view a lot, it was time to head home. On the way I picked up some blue rock climbing boots and a yellow chalk bag which I assume had dropped off unnoticed from someone's backpack. I left these back near the locked gate in case the owner ever comes back to look for them.
Once again, thanks to Banksia777 and pjmpjm for a great day out!

This geocache is one of the most memorable that I've ever undertaken.
(Mrs. pjmpjm accompanied me on most of the sections.)
I feel honoured to be asked to look after it.
Thanks, Banksia777!

Found WP1 but road was closed about 2 kms along from it. Noticed no entries since Jan so decided not to chance it and walk all the way. Rocks around WP1 were a bit slippery so take care.
Did Mt Hay cache this morning in the rain and no views... this cache makes up for it all... Walls walls and more walls! A great walk in the area, all on tracks with some stops on the way. All the way to final GZ I was hoping I had the right co-ords, as it would not be fun to have to go back to check... All was well and the cache was found... wandered on out to the end/top and the views are stunning. Camped the night at the spot 100m past the trail head on Mt Hay Rd...nice large flat clearing.
Another 6.5 kms of walking around Fortress Ridge today and we finally achieved CIH! What an adventure! Mrs. pjmpjm accompanied me all the way and took lots of photos of magnificent 'walls' and other alpine features.
Our first stop was WP3 (had found the first two waypoints previously) and the little container was right where it was supposed to be. Views were great but the container had a bit of water in it. No harm done because the info was laminated, but it's hard to see how this could have happened. The cache container was in good shape and well protected. Anyhow, we easily dried everything out in the sunshine and brisk wind.
Then off to the final GZ. This was another somewhat strenuous trek, but always in view of wonderful mountainous panoramas. Cache was found nearly exactly at the expected coordinates, and this time the cache container and contents were dry and well. TNLNSL.
I'll upload some photos but they won't do justice to the views. From some points we had 360 degree panoramas.
All in all, this geocache adventure rates in my top ten. It was hard work at times but well worth it. Many thanks to banksia777 for yet another good one!

Had a great walk in the Mt. Hay area this afternoon -- 2.5km return -- out to WP2 to retrieve the WP3 details. And the 'wall' views at the end were worth every metre! Coordinates proved to be accurate and the little WP2 container was safe and sound. Onwards to WP3 . . .
Found WP1 just as the cold rain began to change to snow! My wife also rang my iPhone at this point and reported, "It's snowing on Sublime Point!"
Since the winter afternoon was moving on, I decided to leave the rest of this promising adventure for another weekend. Even here at the beginning of Mt. Hay Road there are nice views to the north. Last year we took the son and grandson (from Queensland) to Mt. Hay and beyond, but didn't attempt this multi. Am looking forward to another trip there soon.
(Contents of WP1 container were damp but of course this didn't damage anything. I dried the laminated coordinates off with my shirt-tail and left everything concealed and dry again.)

Great view! Griz4b & I took Matt on his first find. Nice view at the end and along the way. Long pants would have been nice...
Lovely cache, out for the day with the boys! Griz4b, Peter_McC, and Snelo72.
We recommend arriving at the cache before noon, for the best views...
TFTC, it is well worth the effort!

Having had this cache on our to do list for quite some time now and with the weather up here in the mountains perfect it was time to have a go it this corker of a cache.
WP1 was found easily and the required info obtained. We found our way to WP2 nice and easy and stopped here a while to take in the views and get the odd photo or two. After getting the required info it was off to WP3 or so we thought, but, some silly bugger entered the wrong number by mistake, fortunately we wrote co-ords on a piece of paper as well and our error was soon corrected. After finding WP3 we soon had the required numbers for GZ and after a gentle stroll we were our destination. After doing the cache thing we continued on to the end of the track to further soak up the vista of this marvellous part of the mountains.
This cache was a most enjoyable cache one and would be one of our favourite Blue Mountains caches.
Took geocoin and will move it on shortly.

Our 2500th cache and what an amazing one to do as a milestone! We started this one yesterday whilst heading out to Mt Hay but ran out of time. Judging by the previous logs we thought it would be a good cache to do to mark our 2500th find so headed back today and we weren't disappointed - wow!!! We stopped at WP2 for our lunch admiring the incredible views, then enjoyed a very pleasant walk to the other WP's / cache. The terrain was just what we needed; nothing too long, too short or too arduous yet a really good stretch of legs and the views along the way were spectacular!
Took a couple of geocoins, left a TB & a geocoin.
Thanks for taking us here!

WOW!
What a great afternoon out, what great views, vvhat a grat adventure.
GREAT!
Thankfully after all that walking the finds were quite simple.
Left: Geocoin. (More people need to come here.)
Took: Hot Wheels Car and Step Counter. (My eight and seven year old did really well with the walk!)

Thanks for this Geocache. It was a great walk - wouldn't have done it without the hope of a Geocache. Even my husband, who founds geocaching normally a waste of time, was really enjoying himself. Maybe he is now addicted too? Let"s see
Did this as a half day walk with GeoDad and GeoAunt. Usually come out this ridge in summer to do fortress canyon but geocaching is a good excuse for a winter visit. Truly spectacular area.
TFTC and adventure.
Took: TB (my first!)
Left: jelly beans, clapper and yo yo.

What a series of views, you just forget about the WPs...
Wonderful cache, highly recommended, as you are even rewarded once you would not find it.
In TB
Out DVD (both did not fit, so I took the DVD to move to a cache in Sydney)

This place is absolutly stunning. I have never ever imagined such a nice place in blue mountains. Amazing weather helped to make all the views magic but I guess even in rain this place is worth a visit. The whole walk was around 10k but even the youngest geo kid loved it to the very end. Nothing too difficult but still every moment had something new and exciting to show.
Banksja777 - I don't know how to express my gratidue for showing us all the places. I love your caches
Kids took a bunch of items: compas, calculator and PS2 game,
left: pedometer, key ring with neck strap and old polish 100zl note from times when there was still comunism there.
The trip would have been perfect if not that one of my friends lost her purse. I think it was around WP2 but I cannot be sure. We looked around but it was getting late and dark and we had to head back to the car. Please, if you find it, let me know! She had all documents there...
It was large brown leather purse (stuffed with money ) with driving license and other documents and cards.
Thanks again for the hide. We enjoyed every minute of the walk. I think it is one of the best caches in Blue Mountains.

Now see, I have driven past this walking track car park too many times, yeah, yeah, I'll get around to walking and seeing what there is to see one day. Then this cache got put out, yeah, yeah, I'll get around to doing it one day.
Today was out lucky day, this cache has got to be a Blue Mountains Classic cache, in fact, thats what I am going to call it from now on, if anyone asks, it's a definite Mountains Classic cache!! It may even be a winner of the "BBOTBM" award for 2008, but, since we are only a month into 2008, we shall have to see.
Rain was forecast for today, that never happened, instead it got hotter than I would have liked for a cache of this length. So, with the whole family in tow, we visited WP2 and enjoyed the many lizards that scarpered out of our way as we walked along the easy trail. There were alos some pools of water alive with almost frogs, and some tiny frogs.
The views from WP1 are stupendous! And I was surprised that GZ had a squatter living there, he's still there too, a very fat mouse of some kind. WP2 plotted, decided where it was, and the ladies kindly decided to bow out for the rest of the cache adventure. We parted ways at the fork in the road.
With the boy for company, we plodded on to WP3, sat in what shade we could to plot in the location of GZ, not much shade on this walk, it's pretty exposed, so slip slop and slap. More walking with amazing scenery to keep your breath away, or, was it the fact I am very unfit these days? I don't know, probably both.
So anyways, we arrived at GZ, hmm, don't see many places we could hide a cache here, maybe over there? Nope, hmm, we retrieved the pooch from the backpack and well, hmmm, better not say. After discovering the error of our ways, we continued along our winding path to a new GZ. Ahh, found it, disposed of the pooch thoughtfully.
Quite full too. So we relieved it of the unactivated geocoin, and put in a new PS2 game. Walked a bit further to arrive at the view to beat all views. Took the odd pic and then wandered back along the track to the car. Hmm, that took a bit longer than expected, but was well worth the sunburn in the odd spot I missed, stupid spray on sunscrean.
A cache not to be missed, though, not on a hot sunny day!!

This walk is as outstanding as it is easy. We were familiar with all parts of this particular journey as a result of many other previous walks and canyon trips in the area. Nevertheless we were glad to be reminded once again just how spectacularly scenic is this part of the mountains. Fantastic outlooks to all parts – into the Grose, across towards Mt Banks, Mt Hay over yonder, waterfall tumbling out of Arethusa. Go see!
It’s such a non-demanding stroll as well – all on track with very little in the way of ups & downs. Simple navigation – very difficult to go wrong. It makes for a delightful half day ramble with views that have to be seen to be believed – especially on such a cloudless blue winter’s day. Not to be done in adverse weather though as things could then become rather tiresome.
We saw three or four other groups along the way but there were no problems locating the WPs & cache. Enjoyed the WPs in all their aspects – you’ll see what we mean. We took nothing but left an unactivated coin. Thanks banksia777. An excellent cache!

What better way could you spend a sunny winter day than bushwalking in a location with spectacular views (I know there are better ways but we are not allowed to scare the kiddies).
After collecting the required information from the first waypoint we set off on a newly graded road, yippee. The grader stopped at the gate and the road returned to its normal goat track status but regardless we drove on and reached the parking area.
After shouldering packs full of supplies we set off up the hill, the icy wind was blowing from the south turning any exposed skin blue, so this put any other activities we had planed for the day on hold.
Reaching the second waypoint we completed the required task without getting frost bite and set off for the next waypoint passing another couple heading out. Seems everybody was heading out along the tracks today as we past a few groups walking. Reached the third waypoint and only got frost bite on one small toe but we pushed on courageously to the cache location. We managed to retrieve the cache in between groups of walkers who seem to be infesting the area today and would hate to have to do the cache during canyoning session.

After collecting the required information from the first waypoint we set off on a newly graded road, yippee. The grader stopped at the gate and the road returned to its normal goat track status but regardless we drove on and reached the parking area.

Had the day off today, and what do you know a new cache popped up in the mountains.
Convinced geo wife to come out on a little walk (hee hee). With of course brilliant views with every step.
Really well set out multi, with equally interesting waypoints, which gave you the chance to sit down and take in the beautiful settings.
Been coming to these parts for years now, mainly for the awesome canyons, good to see a cache in these remote areas.
