I searched for about 30 min, checked every tree and branches, allowed for tree growth etc. Found one perfect hiding place given the hints and title, but it was empty.
Spent 20 minutes searching. Had a pretty good lock on a couple of trees but even spread my search wider with no luck.
No dramas here, a clever hide. The log is a bit damp but could still be signed - CBR945. Thanks for the cache.
Today’s adventures out and about around the Arboretum and surrounds on a blustery ️ winter’s day.
All logs in good condition unless otherwise noted.

A weekend in Canberra before the whole state turns to poo with COVID lockdowns. We visited the Arboretum and the Botanic Gardens and did 3 Ad Labs and quite a few trads (though missed a few as well) - was cool and rainy but the kids were generally happy.
Off the track and found the right tree. If this is still the original cache well done on keeping in play - nicely constructed.

My first time exploring the cork oaks today on a chilly June afternoon
Well it had me looking around for a while but spotted something out of place. Well hidden and constructed cache. Worth a fav point

What an adventure. Found it, and had a great time.
The robot clicked disapprovingly, gurgled briefly inside its cubical interior and extruded a pony glass of brownish liquid. "Sir, you will undoubtedly end up in a drunkard's grave, dead of hepatic cirrhosis," it informed me virtuously as it returned my ID card. I glared as I pushed the glass across the table.
He heard the loud impact before he ever saw the result. It had been so loud that it had actually made him jump back in his seat. As soon as he recovered from the surprise, he saw the crack in the windshield. It seemed to be an analogy of the current condition of his life.
She asked the question even though she didn't really want to hear the answer. It was a no-win situation since she already knew. If he told the truth, she'd get confirmation of her worst fears. If he lied, she'd know that he wasn't who she thought he was which would be almost as bad. Yet she asked the question anyway and waited for his answer.
Spending time at national parks can be an exciting adventure, but this wasn't the type of excitement she was hoping to experience. As she contemplated the situation she found herself in, she knew she'd gotten herself in a little more than she bargained for. It wasn't often that she found herself in a tree staring down at a pack of wolves that were looking to make her their next meal.
Decided to take the bikes to the arboretum on a beautiful sunny morning. Having never been to this area it was so lovely to find all the caches and see lots of others also taking advantage of a beautiful day. Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches!
Today I targeted the traditional caches around Glenloch Interchange and the Cork Oak forest for a nice morning walk before the forecast thunderstorms rolled in. This cache was very cunningly camouflaged - great idea! Luckily good coordinates made for a straightforward find at GZ. Thanks, winglen.
I feel pretty proud I found this one so quickly as the hide was really cool. Great idea. Tftc
I really like this one. FAV! It is just so simple and so complex at the same time. There were some interesting looking mushrooms nearby too. We spotted it immediately and loved it. Log signed and replaced. TFTC Winglen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Out for a stroll with my 3 year old and thought it was about time I picked up a cache or two. It's been awhile and nice to be back. TFTC #177
I would have to say this find was one of my favourites today.
We did spend a bit of time at this hide, not looking at the cache, but being fascinated by the mushrooms.
Thank you

Found on a lovely walk around the cork plantation on a misty wet and windy day. It was not too bad though. Enjoyed the walk immensely and liked your cache too. Very clever. TFTC winglen
Found this one on a smokey morning. The GPS was not spot on but the trees kept it moving. A nice camouflage.
I was in the area for the Secret Santa event so took the opportunity to collect a couple of extra smileys. Thanks to the hint, this was a quick find. TFTC winglen.
Awesome hide! Gps was about 25m out, but we kept looking around as we continued our walk. It was more chance than skill that we found it!

Enjoyed the stroll through the cork forest. Saw lots of parakeets. Took a bit of looking for but great cache! TFTC
Wow, my favorite cache so far! Phone had me going all over the place and no fork timber to be seen. Spotted after a walk uphill to try and get better reception. TFTC!!!
Walked straight past this at first but then noticed something which didn’t look quite right and found the hide!
Today’s highlights included and a Parliamentary flash mob, more caching and a walk around the lake while the dragon boats raced, the spectacular aboretum, then back to the event to collect a few trackables, a cold at lunch, meeting cachers all over the place, relaxing dinner with friends, a cork forest, crunching numbers for a milestone ... and why do I feel so tired? Oh and still raving about the glorious weather this weekend
Dropping a FAVE point for a clever creation

A walk in this beautiful forest to do some pre-mega maintenance on our cache. Had forgotten how absolutely delightful this forest is, and the lovely dappled light. New log sheet and we installed new natural camo to get the hide back as intended.
This was another little group of caches that I could stop and grab relatively easily while on the way to work.. I have actually parked here before, long ago, but had to leave straight away. Six months later I finally return!
Great camo on this one, its right there in front of you but not too easy to spot.

Went for a walk in the cork wood sunday evening. Always a lovely place. Got some geocaches as I went!

After a rare night out without the kids and a sleep in, fitzy_1965 & I did a bit of Christmas shopping then a bit of caching.
I've never been here before....well to this part of the arboretum....thankfully fitzy_1965 was in a good mood and let me pick up the ones along the way that he already had.

The geowife and I raced out here in order to try my luck at an FTF of another nearby cache. I was only halfway here by the time it was found so I took it easy and on the walk over decided to come and find this cache. We actually found this cache to be harder than expected. We most definitely had a case of cache blindness. We looked in the trees all around gz until eventually I spotted it. It was basically in plain sight and we were amazed at how we had missed it. Good camo I guess although its location doesn't necessarily match the description so perhaps it's moved or changed. Still, it tricked us for a while. TFTC
Nice walk through the cork oaks today with a nice breeze blowing .
Not been in this part before so
Did all 5 caches in here .
Thanks to winglen.

Spotted pretty quickly by 12fieldtrip. We were unprepared with swaps forthe geokids, who took a liking to the pretty thing inside. TFTC!
F(H)ound it! #2760 @ 4:25 PM
Out for a walk with Lethal Porpoise and the 3 geohounds. We got sidetracked from doing the cork plantation to have a go at a couple inside the Glenloch Interchange. And then had to spend some time picking grass seeds out of the long-haired geo-collie.
Lethal Porpoise found this one last year and she tells me it was better, in that it was a bit more difficult, before the "natural attrition" occured. I love the cork plantation and the Ridgeo-Pup really enjoyed frolicing with some other dogs.
Thanks for the cache, winglen

What a wonderful place. I was last here 52 years ago on a cub hike, funnily its all changed. Thanks winglen
Not seen a cache camo like that. Very nice. Approached from the right angle and co-ords were spot on. TFTc
Found 12:56 16/6/18 on a cold winter’s day with Simber15. A very pleasant walk through the cork oaks. Thank you winglen for the cache and bringing me to this location.
With a dozen pairs of small and big eyes, my joey scouts and their (former?) muggle parents and I found this one as part of a geocaching loop through the cork forest. A great afternoon hunt while the clouds bore down on us ominously. Thankfully the rain help of but the joeys came away with all five finds that I planned. What an awesome afternoon's adventure with some easy ones to start with and worked our way up to the more difficult ones. I remember this one being far harder but I think the new container this one was quickly found. The joeys were well on a roll now, this being number four, knowing what to look for. I think a number of the kids now have the caching bug Thanks to all the COs for enabling this.
I had found this one previously in my own caching-time, but thought a note was warranted to note the adventure and to say thanks from our mob. TFTC

Found this one on a walk though the cork forest on a beautiful afternoon walk with the geo-lagotto. Thanks
Spotted this one from a distance - which was luck really because i was looking for a totally different type of hide. Great camo. Tftc!
A great and long and hot day of caching in Canberra together with J+J.AU. We have been all over Canberra today to knock off a few suburbs and ger the numbers up for the upcoming mega event. Was gettkng quite hot in tbe afternoon, but that didn't hold us back. Thanks dor putting out all those great caches.

With the 3 of us on the job we managed to locate this quite quickly. Love this cork forest. TFTC
I came across the Frost Hollow and decided to head into the Cork Forest to continue my walk and to pick up a few caches that I missed last time I was out this way. Cool little hide in such a lovely spot - found in good condition. Thanks for bringing me back here - such a great Canberra spot.
I cycled over to Belconnen for lunch with friends and took the opportunity to seek out some geocaches in the Arboretum and around Jameson. The tally was five. This cache was a straightforward find, being more or less on the coordinates. Thank you winglen for installing and maintaining this cache.
I was just about to give up but told myself to look in just one more tree and I found it.
