Nice little walk from the car to GZ. Interesting little entrance to the walk too. Saw a lovely yacht just waiting... in a backyard. Maybe the weather will improve and it can get out. No ants today, very quite. TFTC RedPaw64
Easy find on a very round about trip via colac area, maldon, ballarat and yarra junction trip home from work.. The ants had called this one home, so it only seemed fitting to dip Anthony the Ant TB.. This was one of 14 for the night and 46(ish) for the trip.. Thanks RedPaw64 for the cache and break in driving.. find #1429
Ants everywhere. One last look before we left and there it was loaded with ants. Could do with water & ant proofing
4200. [font=Century Gothic][green]Five minutes spent beating the living daylights out of the ants in the container and I think I got them all out and most of the eggs too. At least the logbook is dry now and you can write on it but this really needs a visit.

Log book was flooded and is unreadable. The container has become a home for ants. I've removed the ants but log book still needs replacement.
Mm the logbook has dried into a stiff tattered board, you can sign it but it's not looking great! It's not all bad as the cache location still looks quite nice.
went for a visit to see the flood waters in Lara and had a look at this cache again, it has been flooded and the Log needs replacement all entries

This took a little longer to find than it should have with me checking the spot it was in first but somehow overlooking it. After checking both sides of road and avoiding quite a few mugglers, finally was able to write my name in the log and head off happy. TFTC

In the area for a celebration. Pulled up as a resident up the road was mowing the grass. Made a quick find in an expected hiding spot between vechicle traffic. Log was found to be completely dry – might be wet again now though (31/10) given all the rain we’ve had in the last 24 hours.

Due to the recent rains, the logbook is a little wet.
Probably could use some drying out flat, before it turns to paper mache.

Fourth of thirty finds for the day on our try-and-find-as-many-multi-caches during our G-Town visit.
We knew where it would be when we parked, but almost over looked it, and nearly logged a DNF .
Lucky we checked all places again, and the cache was found.
Probably could do with some TLC as the log is quite wet from the recent rains, but we managed to somehow scribble our names in.
Thanks RedPaw64 for this cache.

We live very close to this site and can leave a temporary note and take it home and dry it out and waterproof if.Not sure if this is allowed. Will research. Thanks looking forward to finding many more.]

I'd had this series on my "list" on a previous occasion, but had run out of time - so I was happy to be able to get to them, just about, first off today. This one could nearly have been a drive-by, by I settled for parking about 50m away and, after walking to GZ, the cache was a quick find in a common spot (not really 2.5 difficulty ).
Thanks RedPaw64 - I was most interested to learn that Hume and Hovell had made it this far south (I guess I didn't pay much attention back in school!).

A note to kaygeepalmer re this cache.
Your first find was in Lara and you have found three down Gippsland and you cannot find Hume and Hovel # 5 and you appear to blame the owner RedPaw64 for you incompetence. RedPaw64 has seventy caches out for cachers like yourself to find and you go and put a needs maintenance on this one and that means they have to check it out to see if your claims are true or not. According to your logs on this cache you state on:-
October 8 by kaygeepalmer (11 found)
didnt find this one---used correct co-ordinates,,,even the dog didnt find it.!
will try again, but maybe redpaw should check it is still there.
After your first attempt you are blaming the hider not yourself.

just a question for redpaw----on website co-ordinates written as----s 38 01.152
E 144 24.164
but driving instructions say different----
they say-----------S 38 01.192
E 144 24.402
I will check second set today
What do you mean by the driving instructions? They are not in the cache notes.
Cache Logs October 20 by kaygeepalmer (11 found)
tried AGAIN to find this ,both last evening and today-------without success.
please check and put CORRECT co-ords into site.
this is my most frustrating non find.
Well after seeing that you had put a needs maintenance on this cache I decided that I would check it out on my way to do a owner maintenance on one of my caches out that way and then go and attempt a cache at Little River and then another down the end of Avalon Road.
Well I can assure you that the CACHE IS STILL THERE and waiting to be found and to prove that I found it I put my Red Ant stamp on the log sheet something that I don’t normally do only in log books. THE CACHE CO-ORDS ARE SPOT ON.
The only problem with this cache is that the log is showing that after 71 cachers have opened the log and signed it then maybe a new log may be required but at least another twenty cachers could put their names on it.
I would suggest that you have another look for this one and then if you still cannot find it you put a DNF in the log and ask the owner for a hint.
I will never say that a cache is not there unless I see evidence such as part of the container or bits of the log as there are many caches that I have not found the first time but you will improve as time goes by and with more finds under your belt.
Keep hunting and enjoy, you’re a long time dead.
Bushfire.

Today I was on a search for caches with specific Difficulty/Terrain combinations for The Well-Rounded Cacher game, which is why I only did this one of the series (I'll be back another time for the rest). I couldn't spot it at first, and so had to resort to a tactile search where I expected the cache to be and was duly rewarded. I also had to time the replacement to avoid passing muggles. Thanks, RedPaw64.
Found the cache today at 9.30am with the company of beanie bum had to abide our time a little waiting for the usuals to disappear Found the cache easily and signed the log Ah the last of the series done Extremely enjoyed all of the caches in the series. And thanks to RedPaw64 for these caches

Tried 2 GPS's (Garmin Nuvi & GPS12) with no luck. Also searched high & low for no result. Didn't want to venture too deep into long grass in creek bed due to snake danger! Will have to try another cache.
We found our 31st RedPaw64 cache at 11:30am as the 4th of 28 on our Geelong and Lara Spring Cache Quest. We had solved #4 but on walking there, we found a gardener busy watering the garden right next to the cache so we continued the walk past it to this cache. The others had hesitated on crossing the road giving me my first find of the day.

This had me scratching my head for a little bit as I my first look was only tentative. I was sure I knew where it must be and gave it a proper look, the previous finders had hidden it very well out of view! There was nobody about today which enabled me to log the find and enjoy the views without hassle.
