We started this series on a surprise birthday trip last year but ran out of time to collect them all so a plan was made to finish them off and put the fish back together.EeePees flew in from Tassie, Peppa packed the snacks, LDavs studied the maps, JDavs acted as Karickas anchor and we sailed the seas around South Stradbroke Island.Getting to this cache reminded me of going on a bear hunt. Through the bush, squelching through the swamp, climbing the steep sand dune but the view at GZ was worth it. We quickly located the cache as there werent too many hiding spots. Thanks for the cache THENANKSFind #6520

When does a plan become a scheme? With a goal of getting a D/T Loop up on me, Davinells began laying the groundwork for that plan about 18 months agoDavinells, EeePees and I got to take Karicka out unsupervised for a spin to South Stradbroke Island to finish off this part of the map A great day, with great companyEveryone talks about crossing a swamp to get here I was cocky and thought wed gotten away easy then we found the actual marsh At least the water was warmAt GZ there wasnt a lot of options to choose from might have learnt something from an Earthcache on Kgari and knew we were standing on a sand blowThanks THENANKSVery happy to find this oldie today

This cache was quite the adventure to get to, and it involved a lot of extreme Terrain elements! Forgetting the boat trip over, followed by a shallow swampy/mangrove area where we left the boat, we then waded through a swampy/boggy section, followed by a selection of a path through bog that had the vegetation up to our heads. Our last obstacle was a sand dune to ascend, although admittedly, it didn't look as grimacing once we were at its base, compared to when we were farther away. A slow walk/jog up, and it was then final final approach to GZ. As we surrounded the weathered tree, I spotted the small-sized cache just from the right angle. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks THENANKS for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was surprising to see this cache as just a 4.5 Terrain cache - what do your 5.0 Terrain caches look like?! It was nice to have found this oldie 06/2007 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 1000 oldest yet active geocaches. It was also nice to have found this cache with 778 days [25.6 months / 2.13 years] of unfound love since its last find on 18/06/2022.----------Today, a merry group of sailors consisting of [arewethere?](https://coord.info/PR2J301), [GreenGecko1](https://coord.info/PR1Q82V), [Muggle65](https://coord.info/PR10G2R0), and I took the boat out to South Stradbroke Island and the nearby western islands. We departed/returned from Jacobs Well just after 07:20 hr, and we visited many of the *Fish and Cache* series geocaches. I daresay that it was close to perfect weather for a boat trip, as the sun was out, and the sand islands provided protection from the ocean winds. Furthermore, many others must have thought the same as there were plenty of boats about, and a few muggles that we encountered had even camped on the islands during the previous night.

04-Aug-24
A big day out was planned today as Davidwazza had secured access to a boat. A group of us met at the Jacobs Well boat ramp early enough to get a full day out on the water. And what a cracker of a day it turned out to be, DavidWazza was comfortable at the helm, and along with Greengeckos and Muggle65 we navigated our way through the island passages on our way to North and South Stradbroke, picking up quite a few caches as we went.Quick find by Davidwazza at GZ. Thanks very much for the adventure 4ando. Cheers

A nice early start to the day here at Jacobs Well heading out for a cruise of the bay and hopefully collect a few lonely caches and some sunburn. Our cruise ship Captain Wazza had teamed up with Cruise director Are We There?, First Mate GreenGecko 1 and deckhand Muggle65.This area is quite popular with Boaties and it was a beautiful day on the water with great company.Traipsing through the swamp our gang of walkers got ankle deep and climbed a dune to find a cache.Cool find on a wind swept dune.

04-Aug-24
Captain Davidwazza piloted the pleasure cruiser today and Muggle65, arewethere? and l had a really fun day. The weather was ideal and we left the (extraordinarily busy) boat ramp at about 7.30am. Having never been in this area, l couldn't believe how popular it is with boaties. For the most part the sea was pretty well flat and the wind was light. Thank you for the fun

Found it. Silver Duke of Ed girls. Easy find. Signed log. Thankyou.

This cache looked to be in an awesome spot. The question was, how do we get there without traipsing through a wide swamp? Answer... No idea. We waded through the brackish water, knee deep at the deepest till we were confronted by a wall of sand.

The views from on top with the wind rippled undisturbed sand dunes are stunning.. it wouldn't have been a surprise to see a camel or two.

We arrived at GZ and started searching. And searching. We got methodical, tried looking up from down and down from up. And then we found a brittle zip tie. We're presuming the last cache has gone the way of the original bucket. We had brought a few containers and logs for any maintenance needed and left one here. If this isn't okay, let us know, we're happy to change our log to a note.

TFTC THENANKS. The cache is a small black pill bottle attached with a zip tie.

This cache is buried under a moving sand dune. Can only be found if I had a bobcat.

For a long time, Fangsoki, Pprime, Crew 153 and I have been keen and even talked about hiring a boat and getting to the vaguely South Stradbroke geocaches. Though, we'd never committed to much and it was all a job for the infamous 'one day'. But we've recently done a few other boat trips, so evidently the keen-ness increased. And so a date was set and a boat was hired and this trip was finally happening.

We're going to get some old geocaches, some high terrain geocaches and look for some archived geocaches from the length of the Coomera River, along South Stradbroke and into Jacobs Well. It had been a long day on the water since we pushed off from Heathwood Drive in our seriously underpowered hire boat, capable of only 7km/h. And the tide timing was terrible. It was at the bottom just before we approached this geocache. I had spent hours watching sandbars and the chart closely, but it was clear we'd have to tackle some head on here.

Having said all that, this geocache was a main target for the day. In 2017, one of our aforementioned boat trips was nearer North Stradbroke Island and included the same four idiots in a boat looking (unsuccessfully) for '3 Goats in a Boat'. Today, with a number downgrade, and an active status, we hope for better luck. I informed the others how I don't think we'd be able to get the boat *with* the outboard operating all the way to the beach. One great sandbar really stood in our way.

As the bow of the boat booped sand, we hoiked out and had to make a choice. Wade across the sandbar and channel behind that, or 'portage' the entire boat. We are four idiots, so each grabbed a corner and dragged the boat over the sandbar in but a few inches of water. But, success! We floated on the other side, and putted to the beach. Right, onwards.

Being a minimalist at home meant today I was going barefoot. Soggy joggers aren't my thing. And this set-up worked well. Right up until the ground was littered with those damn pokey sheoak seeds. I manned up and moved on, following the others.

Then there was a worse problem. A swamp. See, I *really* wanted to avoid swimming between the sandbar and beach previously because I *hate* water. And this swamp seemed to have no sides. We'd have to go through it. Unknown depth. No shoes. Prime and fang called it's bluff and decided to look for a better way. I wanted no more sheoak seeds so Crew and I surged into the swamp. While stained with tannins, it was thankfully quite clear. And only ankle deep. I survived. And the four of us regrouped on the other side, now up on some clean, white sand dunes. Oh, this is a special place!

It became immediately apparent that the prevailing winds and sand dune movement is real. If there's a bucket here, it is metres below our feet now. However, we spotted that it had been replaced fortunately. Unfortunately, by a tiny bison tube. Alas, it's not the container that makes visiting a place like this so worthwhile.

Prime shoved his head into the tree and came up with the goods. I ran around the sand dunes like an idiot, glad to not be sitting in a vibrating boat. The logbook was signed, the area enjoyed and the time is ticking away. The four of us retraced the Fang/Prime route around the worst of the swamp, then after some more sore feet, we got back to the boat. And then followed a channel back to the main passage on the exit.

Visiting this place was a highlight of today. I can see the temptation to spend more time here. Thank you for showing me this place THENANKS! I'm happy to have visited and made the find on an old geocache Smile

2 Goats, a boat, with myself and Crew153 along for the ride. (OK - Fangsoki and Captain Terror were in the boat, but you knew that I'm sure). We four had failed to sort out 3 goats in a boat two years ago, but with one less goat this one looked more likely. One of our absolute prime targets for the day. We'd been out in the bay for a few hours now, and the tide was getting down to it's lowest point (timing is a thing). But a perfect day would not be stopped by the mere lack of water eh?

We portaged the boat over a sandbar in the middle of the bay and managed to hit the shoreline a mere 300m or so from GZ. No worries.

And off we trotted. No issues for most of the way, until our path was blocked by swamp. Some went through, the cleverer ones saw that around was a viable option. But we all ended up at the same GZ. A bit of concern that the elements weren't being kind, but a cache was soon found (it's a wee bit smaller now people). Success!

This is a really sandy spot - after a mostly watery approach - a spot which had everything. Much loved.

Thanks THENANKS for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #6716}* Cool

Ahhh you taunt me no more, little cache!

Yet another cache I have wanted for many years and just hadn't had the means to do it. A few months ago, Pprime, Crew 153, Captain Terror, and I hatched a plan to grab a group of caches - this being one of them. So today wasn't 2 Goats in a boat (or even 3 Goats - God rest it's caching soul) - but 4 Goats!

Captain Terror - who was indeed "Captain" today - was concerned about getting to this one due to the tides - and thought it may not be possible. I informed him - in no uncertain terms - that WE WILL GET THIS CACHE. Even if I have to swim to the damn thing.

However, it ended up that I didn't need to drown by attempting to swim to it. We pulled up at about 300m from the cache. We lumbered out and made our way toward GZ.

Pprime led the way in. At one stage, Captain Terror and Crew 153 decided to go their own way. We still ended up with wet feet - but not as wet as Crew and the Captain. As it was, we all ended up at GZ at pretty much the same time.

And wow - what an area. I loved the walk in. I loved the GZ. The container may not be original - but I will take it. This cache ended up being Number 8300 for me. I like each milestone to be something memorable - and this one fitted the bill nicely.

We signed the log and re-hid everything as found before making our way back to the boat. A thoroughly enjoyable cache and an easy favourite point. TFTC THENANKS Smile

Out on the water with Pprime, Fangsoki and Captain Terror.

This cache was on the MUST Do list for us for today.

We had taken a roundabout route to get to a parking spot and then encountered a sand bank about 100m from shore. We all climbed out and easily pulled the craft across the sand to the deeper channel.

After we had beached the boat we all headed into the scrub towards the cache.

We came across an, apparently, imposable coastal swamp and while Pprime and Fangsoki headed off to find a route around it, Captain Terror headed into the reads. We were surprised to find the water was not too deep and was quite warm.

We emerged from the far side to find that Fangsoki and Pprime had taken a faster route and were there before us.

An extended search around the only hiding spot and it was Pprime who spotted the cache.

I was good to be able to put our names in the log of this oldie.

To get to GZ, I found myself wading through a swamp but I made lots of noise to scare off any swamp monsters. The GZ was obvious but the container is no longer a large but a micro. Easily spotted though. Thanks for the cache.

25-Apr-19
After a quick visit to Pandanus Island, I kayaked over to the dunes of South Stradbroke near the Bedroom anchorage. We anchored in North Bedroom, finding the Bedroom a bit too shallow for our catamaran - not too windy now, so should still be nice and calm overnight.
I pulled the kayak up the beach and checked the gps direction to gz. It was pointing me straight through a "swamp", but with limited time before sunset, I just went directly for it.
The mozzies had wasted no time introducing themselves and chased me as I ran across the muddy swamp, into the bush and up into the dunes.
It didn't take long to find an interesting bent banksia and the cache was close by. Lucky it was at a height not likely to be swallowed by sand for a little while longer.
Now to get back without losing too much blood. I found an easier walk back along the dunes and down through some grass.

Dora the Explorer! and I had decided to kayak to South Stradbroke Island with a view to completing the Fish series of caches however we would grab any traditional caches on the way.

This was our last cache for the day after paddling around 30klms.

This cache was spotted hanging where it should be although now it should be rated as a micro.

This was our 22nd and last find for the day.

No longer large size, think opposite.

We completed the fish series and traditionals around South Moreton Bay Island all by Kayak and walking. We stopped to camp overnight. Was a very enjoyable adventure using sit on top kayaks and hammock tents.

On day 1 we completed in this order, one of the caches may be out of order. We used two cars. One was parked at Jacobs Well and the other at Paradise Point tomsave back tracking. We had a very early start leaving Jacobs Well with the high tide.

Fish and Cache series, 16, 23, 19, 20, 22, Crusoe House Boat, 21, 18, 17, Jumpinpin Passage, Fish Cache Series 24, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 Goats in a Boat Fish Series 12.

Day 2

Camped overnight near Fish Series 11.
Fish and Cache Series 11, 57 km from Mexican, Fish and Cache Series 13, 14, 15, Dux's Hut, The Sand Dunes, Tipplers, (we had a break here and bought breakfast from the shops here). As the Sun Sets, Wallaby Lawn, Step Back in Time, The Bora Ring, Easy for Some, Minbalup, and Canoe Tree. We then paddled from here back to Paradise Point.

The adventure was fairly straigt forward, saw lots of sting rays, so make sure you have foot wear on when pushing kayaks across the mud flats which we had to do on afew occasions. I even had a fish decide to join me in the kayak. I quickly put him straigt back into he water. We were both quite exhausted on the final leg back to Paradise Point as we were going against the tide.

All in all was a fun adventure and I would recommend doing it by kayak over two days.

Being a public holiday in Brisbane, my geo daughter and i decided to pack the bags and head to Jacobs well for a day on the water. The challenge was to complete the fish and cache series. With a few hints from the CO and a previous logger i managed to make my way through the series a few weeks ago. Today was the long awaited mission. The weather was beautiful and we managed to find all bare three as time ran out, the boat we hired had a dodgy motor that wouldnt allow us to but the motor in the middle position which meant when the tide was low we couldnt get to a few caches. 3 caches short.

Sunday. We managed to find this cache hanging in it’s tree. Coolumroo (who were with us for today’s adventure) had already found this cache, so were along for the fun of watching us find this cache. We did find this cache (easier when coming from a different direction). Log was signed and replaced. The metal ring holding the cache is really quite rusty so unsure how much longer this cache container will remain in place without falling. Amazing sand dunes here.

This was the 24th of 25 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***THENANKS***, for showing us this place. Smile

We are staying at the resort nearby and have buddied up with Snickersallan and E(: today to find some of the GeoTour and cache some Fish. We were on foot for about half of the day after a 4WD drop off. What an adventure of sand dunes, swampy mangroves, and beach!

Having caught a 'fish' not too far from this location, we popped on over a bit of sand to find this cache. Oh, so shiny. [:p]

Thanks for the cache, THENANKS. Smile

Out today doing some "fishing" on HMAS Bromance with Captain Seffnjarah, First mate Fungus and Naviguesser KeepingUpWith.

It was an interesting stomp from the beach to GZ, first following wallaby tracks and then climbing the dunes to the desert up on top. What a great spot for a cache!

Enjoyed this cache a lot. Have a crooked favourite point. Thanks Nanks.

Out and about with monkey maker and CoolumRoo having a go at the caches on South Straddy. We started at the top end and made our way south to Couran Cove. **End of Copy and Pate Section**

It was more like 3 Goats in a Boat.
We should of flanked this hide but we came straight at it from the passage, probably cost us about 600metres in walking.
Would of been nice to dig for the original container, if its there, but we signed the blue bison and moved on.

Cheers Nanks

14-Apr-18
Going by satellite view it looked like a doable trek straight to gz from where we parked but that vegitation is thick in parts. In hindsight coming in a little further south was probably easier but then wheres the fun in that? It won't be long and the sand dunes will totally engulf this narrow section of the island.
Yep definitely 3 goats in a boat today, hahaha.
Thanx Nanks

South Straddie Tipplers Trek - 2 days of paddling and caching fun with JaffaJ, Carlos the Jackal and geohubby Rob Smile

This was the last cache of our trip. We'd had a lovely couple of days and now it was time to head home. We stopped at 'The Bedrooms' for lunch and took the opportunity to go and grab this one. It wasn't quite what we expected, but after a bit of poking and prodding we found the sneaky little devil. TFTC THENANKS Big Grin

You little the rippa, the sun is out, well we have no idea if the sun is out as it is so early it is the black of night out there. The sky just kept coming up overcast as we were driving to the boat ramp and as we boarded the geo-jet we were getting a slight drizzle on us, was quite nice really and then just ahead of us we saw sun and a beautiful rainbow, this is going to be a great day.

This is our second time at this cache, the first time the tide was coming in so Mr 4ando stayed with the geo-jet just in case it was going to get sand banked while Mrs 4ando went in to search from the wrong direction and just saw a swamp in the way of reaching the cache.

This time we anchored up the jet in a different spot and stating climbing the sand dunes. Arriving at GZ there didn’t look like much hope of finding this cache all there was was half a tree buried in sand, Mrs 4ando was prepared with a shovel thinking it is would be buried. Task was started and digging began, throwing sand everywhere Mr 4ando is casually looking at his phone and shows me a picture of someone standing at the location of the cache. No problem, squish under the branches, on all fours covered in sand and pull out the little shovel this time…just to hear Mr 4ando once again go ‘here it is.’

We should of done a bit of research here before we came and realised it was now a small cache not a large probably buried cache and we could of left the garden tools at home

We were attending the GIFF and arranged with local resort - Couran Cove - for a 4WD experience and went for this one. Clearly shifting sands and massive shifting sands so geobuddies did maintenance! Fantastic views and thanks for the cache!

04-Nov-17
Planned on attending the GIFF event tonight. This cache was nearby, well, sort of. Hired a 4WD from Couran Cove Resort, Steve drove us from the resort to the southern most tip of South Stradbroke so Snickersallan can pick up the caches we have already found. Steve also helped us find all 6 caches then drove us to the northernmost part even if we only wanted to pick up this cache.
The gz was a short tree. We think the big container is now very well under the sand. We read the previous logs, unfortunately the replacement cache is not there any longer. We replaced the cache and log. It's back at gz but not a large size.

TFTC THENANKS. Hope you didn't mind us doing a maintenance. We love the view and location so much. Steve was already in a hurry for another job and the tide was coming in, hence we had no time contacting you.

All good with this cache.

With geo friends E:) and NeversayDi we took a 4WD tour to do the Southport Seaway area before going in the opposite direction to look for this one. Steve our driver who has been working on the Island for over 10 years gave us a lesson on the sand dunes and advised the large bucket would probably be buried about 3 mtrs since it was placed. This bucket was replaced by Doug.G last year but being so small Steve said this would definitely also be buried by now. A new bright cache was placed higher and attached to a tree branch at GZ. Message sent to CO, thanks THENANKS, beaut area to visit

What an absolutely awesome location at GZ! Cool The silicon-like sand of the dunes was something to behold. As for the box, it would seem that over the past year the sand-dune has moved even further west-ward and *completely consumed* the tree that was hiding the cache. There was only the top 3-feet of tree remaining, so I rehid a replacement box in the next tree slightly west of GZ (refer to the new Spoiler photos) - albeit a much smaller container - and wedged it into a fork in the tree and then covered it with a bunch of sticks Wink

Then we high-tailed it back to the boat via a little bit of sand-dune surfing Razz

Thought I'd give this a go but a little rushed for time due to an out going tide. Got to the gz expecting an easy find (2nd mistake) but not to be. Will just have to come back again. Good excuse to get back out on the water again.

Out with the Geo Cruise and it was great to find our land legs again. Out with the GeoCruise 2014 Crew after providing an advance note to the cruise sponsor the able bodied seamen of Ruzzlez, BrisTracker, Lost 2 FOund, Us3Scouts, K8'n'Co, Totalube, Seirra1 and Hot Wheels Duo set forth on to the high seas of Tipplers Passage in search of buried treasure left behind by ancient sailors called Geocachers.

It rained, it showered, sometimes it rained again but our sturdy craft withstood the tide and the ocean currents. Some sought shelter under the large canopy at the aft of the vessel, others sat stoically afore. Soon we were all standing as we pulled alongside in search of this cache.

Well after a very long adventure attempting to turn the event into a Perfect Day we all felt like goats in this boat. Admiral Serra choose drop anchor at this location as we finally took the opportunity to walk on land. Unfortunately the tide was coming in and much of the land /trail we walked was submerged. However on reaching the Sandbank we were presented with wonderful ocean views.

Geocruise 2014 - Bristracker and I were slower than the main group here as the part of the island where we anchored is very swampy. We sloshed around taking photos and noted that the campground was closed but still some have set up tents. The cache was found however and signed by the group. Thanks for the cache THENANKS.

Lunch put on hold while we do this island. But I got lost trying to keep up with the cross country! Love the swamp if it were not for the mosquitoes.

28-Dec-14
What an adventure to get to this one. The well needed water craft is only half the battle to get to this one.

The walk was through puddles of tannin stained water and through scrub until we made it to some of the most beautiful and untouched sand dunes I have seen, with the pacific in the background it was a beautiful sight Big Grin

After a short search we spotted the cache, a nice big one to.

We placed our names in the book and then admired the view some more, before heading back to the boat.

Thanks Smile

Our dedication to Herbz caches saw 8 of us us out on the water today, in a party boat, chasing some caches on the broadwater. With a plan of attack firmly in place, Ruzzlez, BrisTracker, Lost 2 FOund, Us3Scouts, , K8'n'Co and Totalube headed off from Sanctuary Cove. One of the big cruisers would have been lovely - however totally impracticle for getting into caches!

After wandering along for what seemed like ages to get to this cache....what a spectacular place. There is something very beautiful about sand dunes with the only footprints being Kangaroos - where you look out across the ocean with only the cachers in our party in sight. Wish I had taken my camera!

Thanks for bringing us here - awesome cache! A favourite for the location from me.

This is the most beautiful spot.

The trek thru the swamp opened up to the most beautiful sand dunes. Probably best to anchor on the ocean side.

Out with the Geocruise 2014 group.

Well deserved favorite point.

Third find for the day on our paddle adventure from Jacobs Well. After having some lunch nearby we made our way to the cache. Scared a wallaby as we approached the cache hide. After signing the log we walked up the dunes and checked out the surf for a while. Some interesting tracks in the sand - not sure what made them.
The trip back wasn't the best - the wind had picked up but at least the tide was pushing in with us!

These water caches have been sitting at the top of our unfound caches list for so long because we couldn't get hold of any sort of water craft with a motor.

It would have been nice to think we could borrow a canoe or kayak and paddle our way around but when reality bites we are just too old and unfit to even attempt it.

I had never been out on a houseboat and Geo Wife had only been on one once quite a few years ago so we had the idea of combining a houseboat holiday with a caching adventure.

We had had 100% success rate so far and believed that this and the other close by cache would be easy to find using the tender from the safe anchorage point just of South Stradbroke.

The weather was looking great despite the forecast and we were in very easy distance of the shore so Geo Wife, Youngest Geo Girl and I headed over in the tender to the beach.

We had plotted a course across the island after reading earlier logs about difficulties they had so it was a little longer but very straight forward.

This is a beautiful beach that seems to go on forever.

The cache was quickly found and contents checked out by Geo Girl who decided to swap.

All was very dry inside and the location was secure.

We saw the pontoon that had been washed of the Brisbane River during the floods high and very dry on the beach.

Thanks THE NANKS for bringing us here to this beautiful spot.

One TeamDFL and one svn07 = 2 goats in two boats!! Lovely day out although the conditions were a bit more challenging than last week. We beached the kayaks and made a bee-line for the cache. Gee whiz....I don't remember any previous finders mentioning a SWAMP!!! OK then....there is a swamp here...which we crossed. We found a slightly drier path OUT...after we found the cache...as you do [:/].

The swamp was surround by gorgeous little sundews which we admired and we also spotted a few wallabies....pics attached. Lovely big and well stocked cache so easy to find. Liberated a TB and will return Miss Piggy to the mainland.

Returned to the beach, collected our craft and headed across the smooth water to the next island to visit a cache a long way from The Mexican Wink

Thanks for the cache THENANKS. Cheers, svn07 Big Grin

Took Miss Piggy TB which was not listed in the inventory.

Out with Svn07 again for a paddle. I guess that makes us 2 nanna goats in 2 boats Wink

We paddled out from Jacobs Well to the island. Found a good spot to land and headed on in. Probably did not take the best way to GZ, but we got there Wink

Saw a few wallabies on our travels. Heaps of birdlife along the way too Smile

Found while out in our 8 berth bed boat - only sorry we have to give it back on Monday.
Tempted to take compass set to plot my course home - but then I remembered that I always have Mrs Burnout55 to keep me on track!
Good hide, great spot. TFTC
Dropped off Oink Geocoin - from the heights of Mt Tamborine to the beach.

Over in Oz escaping the Christchurch winter for a week of RnR, including some boating on the Coomera River.
Wow - the whole beach to ourselves - awesome! Saw some great wide life too - lots of wallabies and some great soldier crabs on the riverside of the island.

Carn't belive that no one has found this cache for a year. We enjoyed the walk and also found a pontoon about 200m north of the cache that had been washed up on the beach in Brisbanes big floods. Wed also found a tent peg on the beach that we swaped for some light thingy. Cache is in great condition. TFTC

Found with my 1st mate Seaman Lat&Long Junkie. This was our 2nd of 4 finds whilst out in the newly aquired plastic punt or The Bedboat. On the way over muggles kept looking at us, maybe they where actually laughing at the bedboat, or maybe it was the two goats in it wearing life jackets. found the cache easily, it's a bit hard to miss. Found a nice spot down by the shore so we spent some time here having morning tea. TFTC.

Arrived by bedyacht with geonephew 'Bedmaker'. Putted across from Pandanus Island and found the cache before having an early lunch. Always nice to find a large cache that screams out, "hey, here I am" Big Grin. We walked about 250 metres to the cache, saw lots of wallabies and agreed with the cache notes, that this would be a good place to camp for a few days. TN/LN/SL and gazed back wistfully Sad as we knotted south to Australia Day 2009.

Bit of a climb through the scrub before breakfast, but eventually found the spot.

Grabbed this one while out on the geo-tinny today. We followed the arrow from the Bedrooms and had to bash through heaps of that nasty stratchy scrub stuff only to realise it would have been easier to cut through to the sand dunes first and avoid all that.

Nice easy to find old-style container still in good nick - everything nice and dry.

Took Walk & Rollers 2 TB.

101th Cache find... but where are the dalmatians!?

Came ashore just across from '57ks', carried the boats ashore, and took off into the depths of South Straddie to track down this bucket. After crossing some rather suspicious looking puddles of water and threading out way through sticks, branches, long grass and trees (I'm sure there is an easier way, we just didn't bother to find it!) we emerged and found the treasure. Was a little exposed (it wasn't in its hole properly), but was in good condition and dry inside. Signed the log, placed it back in its hole, covered it up, and set off for the long (by my standards!) paddle back to Jacobs Well and a hot shower.

TNLN, TFTC!

Well, what can I say about this one? Staying at Couran Cove Resort, I didn't have a boat, it was pouring rain, very windy and I was at the wrong end of the island to the cache Surprised. mmmhh, what to do? Cleverly (or so I thought) I used one of the resort push bikes and set off for the chase. I don't know if you've tried riding a normal bike through sand but I certainly don't recommend it Red Face
After 8kms finally made the northern camp ground and proceeded on foot from there to the nicely concealed cache Cool. This would be a great spot on any other day but on this particular occasion I quickly dropped off a TB, left a log entry and began my return trip, all up 16kms Wink Boy, was I glad to get back and have that long hot shower Big Grin

Cache is in good condition.
TNLNSL and TB

Thanks to thenanks for giving me the opportunity to give my legs a workout [xx(]

What a beautiful day to be out on the bay. Great friends, geocaching, great weather, absolutely beautiful spot. What a great pick me up this day was for me. (Except for dropping and breaking my GPS at another cache). [:-(]
Well watching Mrs KSix get out of the boat and then up the sand dunes in her gumboots ( I think she is afraid of sand) was memorable and in her bright jacket you really couldn't miss her. Loved the location of the cache. The wallaby's, the lizards, the blue wrens and the stingrays in the channel nearby. What a great spot. TFTC.

Out today with happyharries and angermanagement.

Well what can I say... 3 ladies out in a boat for the day hunting down caches. Life could definitely get a lot worse !!! This was the first of 3 caches we hunted down in the dinghy today.

Me in my trusty gumboots, up and down the sand hills... "quite a sight". Got the nickname of "gummy" for the rest of the day, but at least my feet remained nice and dry Smile

The cache is located in a great spot. Will definitely have to bring the rest of the family back here one day.

Thanks for the hunt thenanks.
Cheers,
[Mrs] Ksix

Out in the tinnie today on the Broardwater to nab a few long lost caches. Mrs AM and Mrs K-six were great deck hands not that there was much deck to look after. We had a great time out today boating is certinally a wonderful way to relax and when you combine it with caching what more could you ask for. This was our first island cache for the day once we anchored the tinnie the cache wasn't far away.I wish I had taken my boogie board along for the sand dune.As we approached the cache site first of all we saw tracks made by a mighty large goanna then the undergrowth became alive with wallabies there must have been at least 20 feeding. The cache was easily located after a short walk back to we tinnie we venture off to the next nearby island cache. Thanks for bringing us to this magical spot TFTC.

Oh no it's one of those days [:o]
Gentle breezes wafting across the water.
Not a cloud in the sky.
A high tide mid-morning
and a top of 24 degrees Smile
The sort of weather that makes a day spent indoors unbearable Sad
Thankfully there were a couple of caches out South Straddie way to find Razz
This first cache was not only a delightful paddle through the channels, but a great walk through the interior of the island. There were wallabies everywhere in here by the lake. The walk to the beach across the sand dunes was fun as well Big Grin
Ahh! So much wonderful scenery [^]
The size of the container was a surprise and evil thoughts about wishing I had brought a certain giant sized travel bug with me to abandon out here came to mind Big Grin
TFTC and another excuse to abandon terra firma for the morning Big Grin

Well, 2 goats in a boat placed the cache, and 2 goats in a boat found it. While out on the bay in our tinnie chasing caches for the River Deep Mountain High geocaching game, we decided to take a detour to be first to find this cache. There was plenty of wildlife about and a short walk over the sand dune provided a good view of the Gold Coast skyline. TFTC
