We started this series on a surprise birthday trip last year but ran out of time to collect them all so a plan was made to finish them off and put the fish back together.EeePees flew in from Tassie, Peppa packed the snacks, LDavs studied the maps, JDavs acted as Karickas anchor and we sailed the seas around South Stradbroke Island.Doing this one at high tide meant we could pull up 8m from the cache. A short search around and we located the container, I dont think there were any crawlies on it but I wasnt taking any chances so I let Peppa do the signing duties. Thanks for the cache THENANKSFind #6522
When does a plan become a scheme? With a goal of getting a D/T Loop up on me, Davinells began laying the groundwork for that plan about 18 months agoDavinells, EeePees and I got to take Karicka out unsupervised for a spin to South Stradbroke Island to finish off this part of the map A great day, with great companyDavinells made the find after sending me into the mud and then even though there wasnt a spider to be seen, the cache still came hurtling down at meThanks THENANKS
Hanging around Stradbroke with my friends Simon and Amanda and anchored nearby before popping across on the dinghy for a look. Was a little concerned it might not be there with the last DNF and the period of time since a find, but Simon had it eyeballed within a couple of minutes of hitting the shore. Cache container and log book all in good order.Beautiful day to be on the Gold Coast.TFTC
When we hired a boat to find some of the Fish & Cache geoart there was no way we weren't going to attempt this cache as well. The tide was still high as we cruised in to Pandanus Island and went to look for the cache. Thought we were on to it but as we were discovering, there's a bit of rubbish on the islands and a green bottle can look like a cache when it's at the base of a tree. We were happy to find the cache placed in a much better position for the tough conditions it has to deal with. Great to see this oldie still going strong. TFTC THENANKS.
Out with karicka and chamad chasing down the Fish and Cache series, and any others along the way that looked interesting. It was a very busy day on the water and on the land with campers and daytrippers occupying just about every empty patch of sand.
We were starting to struggle a bit before Karicka spotted this one from just the right angle.

Out today on the seas to do a spot of fishing. It was a great day, calm seas and good company with Karicka as skipper and Orange Crew as professor, me as Gilligan I suppose. Our tour started at Jacobs well to our first stop at tipplers, we went north from there collecting a few fish and a few extras as we passed.
There were a fair few people on the water and camped along the sandy patches, some hides we had to navigate around so as not to bring attention to ourselves.
A great day again and a big haul of fish, thanks to the CO’s for the series and the trads along the way. At the end of the day all caches (series or trads) are in place and are in good condition.

Drive the boat ride to the spot couldn’t have got any closer. Lots of trinkets in the cache. If you want to have a free day at the Adelaide swimming pool come and find it here
second find of the day for R and his muggle mate who were out fishing and caching!

This geocache, or more specifically, the island it is on is the reason I started geocaching. When I was much younger, certainly years before this geocache was placed, my old man used to enjoy fishing from the anchorage immediately east of this island. The Bedrooms he called it.. maybe others do too. I have a few memories of him taking me. In his brilliant plans, he always ended up arriving at low tide and he hated having to go the long way around this island and its sand bars. Instead he preferred to pick his way painfully and slowly around the north side, following a small gutter. When I was with him, I'd sit on the bow and help him spot the deepest water.
Eventually he decided he should invest in a GPSr and plot the exact location of that gutter to make navigating it in low light or whichever much easier. I don't believe that Garmin GPS72 ever made it to this gutter, but when I discovered this 'geocaching' thing, I knew I had the right tool in a drawer somewhere in the house. Had it not been for this island, I would likely have never become a geocacher.
Access to a boat. Access to a GPSr. And a geocache that has been here for longer than I've been geocaching, there's no real good excuse for me having not found it. I even find the whole rationale of it's hiding to be a hilarious niggle. But all of this meant it was a prime target for me today. But at least I knew today, even with the tide out, that there is a gutter and I kinda remember where it is!
For a long time, Fangsoki, Pprime, Crew 153 and I have been keen and even talked about hiring a boat and getting to the vaguely South Stradbroke geocaches. Though, we'd never committed to much and it was all a job for the infamous 'one day'. But we've recently done a few other boat trips, so evidently the keen-ness increased. And so a date was set and a boat was hired and this trip was finally happening.
We're going to get some old geocaches, some high terrain geocaches and look for some archived geocaches from the length of the Coomera River, along South Stradbroke and into Jacobs Well. It had been a long day on the water since we pushed off from Heathwood Drive in our seriously underpowered hire boat, capable of only 7km/h. And the tide was at the bottom as we got here. I had spent hours watching sandbars and the chart closely, but it sure doesn't have fine enough detail for this. Luckily I sometimes remember obscure stuff from well over a decade ago.
And it all came up alright. We managed to navigate the tiny gutter right up to the island. We even passed some fisherman standing only a few dozen metres away in ankle deep water. The bow of the boat booped into the island just a few metres from GZ. We launched out of the boat and into the trees. The geocache was quickly spotted and as is normal for such a placement, I was sent in for the retrieval. Bare feet and a pokey pandanus tree isn't pleasant. But at least I could hand the logbook off to someone else to be signed while I waited and took a silly selfie.
I like old geocaches. And I've wanted to find this geocache for a long time - probably since I became aware of it in the months after I started geocaching. I am so very glad I finally got to make the find. Hopefully I'll be back out this way again sometime soon to enjoy it again. Thank you for this geocache and bringing back some old memories, THENANKS

Fangsoki, Captain Terror, Crew153 and I went to sea. We'd sailed the Coomera River and northwards alongside South Straddie. The day was nearing the end, but this one was key to our targets for the day. In fact it's not all that long ago that I myself managed to find the Mexican. Which is apparently 57kms over there. The premise of this hide is one I can commiserate with.
After a surviving low tide, we navigated carefully into the beach here, avoiding being grounded successfully. And thus we piled out to walk the 30m or so to GZ. No worries at all, cache-in-hand real quick.
Thanks THENANKS for entertaining me at this location.

9 years.. Over 9 years I have looked forlornly at this cache - not being able to get it.
Today, Crew 153, Pprime, Captain Terror, and I were out grabbing caches - and this was definitely on the target list.
We puttered up to the beast and set to shore. Ahh - it will be nice and close to shore. We piled out and made our way to GZ. We soon brought an old container to light. We signed the log and re-hid the cache as found.
The last time I managed find a THENANKS cache was over 6 years ago. Happy to grab a couple more. A fantastic location - and dedication to another group of cachers. TFTC THENANKS

Out on the water with Pprime, Fangsoki and Captain Terror.
I think that once upon a time I had a goal similar to HawMorFords but that has long gone with no chance of ever achieving it.
This one also brought back memories of The Mexican and also caching hunts with the cachers of that era.
We found a channel though a few fishing folk to beach the boat close to the search area and then headed into the trees for a quick find.

We stopped the jet ski about 125m from GZ as the water was getting too shallow. I jumped out and waded in only to find the water got deeper again and I was up to my armpits. By the time I got to GZ, 4ando had brought the jet ski around. Lol. Quick find and we were on our way again. Thanks for the cache
We had just anchored our catamaran at North Bedroom after a fun day walking across South Stradbroke from Tipplers with an ANZAC day service in the morning. We were on the way back north now, heading home.
I wanted to kayak over to Pandanus Island but J wanted to come too (and it is a single kayak), so we towed the kayak over with the dinghy, and I kayaked back. Managed to get ashore without too much mud attached and after a bit of a search, J found the correct hollow and retrieved the cache.
Some fisherman nearby barely gave us a 2nd glance, and was someone camping along the mangroves a bit???

Quick and easy find
We completed the fish series and traditionals around South Moreton Bay Island all by Kayak and walking. We stopped to camp overnight. Was a very enjoyable adventure using sit on top kayaks and hammock tents.
On day 1 we completed in this order, one of the caches may be out of order. We used two cars. One was parked at Jacobs Well and the other at Paradise Point tomsave back tracking. We had a very early start leaving Jacobs Well with the high tide.
Fish and Cache series, 16, 23, 19, 20, 22, Crusoe House Boat, 21, 18, 17, Jumpinpin Passage, Fish Cache Series 24, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 Goats in a Boat Fish Series 12.
Day 2
Camped overnight near Fish Series 11.
Fish and Cache Series 11, 57 km from Mexican, Fish and Cache Series 13, 14, 15, Dux's Hut, The Sand Dunes, Tipplers, (we had a break here and bought breakfast from the shops here). As the Sun Sets, Wallaby Lawn, Step Back in Time, The Bora Ring, Easy for Some, Minbalup, and Canoe Tree. We then paddled from here back to Paradise Point.
The adventure was fairly straigt forward, saw lots of sting rays, so make sure you have foot wear on when pushing kayaks across the mud flats which we had to do on afew occasions. I even had a fish decide to join me in the kayak. I quickly put him straigt back into he water. We were both quite exhausted on the final leg back to Paradise Point as we were going against the tide.
All in all was a fun adventure and I would recommend doing it by kayak over two days.

Sunday. Another great cache pickup on the way to collecting some other nearby caches from a recently placed geoart. Coolumroo were the drivers for today (getting in and out constantly out of the boat and doing all the driving), and they’d already collected this cache, so it was only Slow Puncture that needed to sign the log on this one. Whilst making sure Mr S.P. didn’t slip off the tree at the bottom, Mrs S.P. managed to push too hard and nearly sent Mr S.P. off the tree and also managed to drop the only pen that we had in our possession today. I was in awe of the amazing sand dunes moving with the trees just perched on the top.
This was the 22nd of 25 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***THENANKS***, for showing us this place.

Today teamdfl and I have set out to collect as many of this series of caches as possible, along with a couple of extra traditionals along the way. She had far more success at solving all the puzzles than I did, my contribution being exactly 5
We met up this morning at the beach area on the corner of Esplanade and Nassau Place, and put the kayaks in, blithely setting off on what we thought would be a long but relatively straightforward day. How wrong we were! By the middle of the day I was needing a constant tow, and by the end of it we were both struggling to make headway against the wind. The tide was way down, there was lots of dragging of the yaks, mud galore, small rays darting off everywhere, more mud. After finally clawing our way back to the more sheltered area, I was pretty well done by the time we struggled the last few kilometres to our starting point. Quite an adventure indeed!
One just for me, seeing as we are right here. Certainly some muddy squelching to GZ, but the cache was soon in hand. Nice to see such an old cache still in the game. And I do believe I have the 50th find TFTC, THENANKS.

Out on the water with monkey maker and dahumbug. As we worked our way down from the top of Sth Straddy towards Couran Cove we just had to stop and have a look for this cache. I like the co’s concept of putting it away from the Mexican.
We took the search for this one a little easier after spottting a good size snake skin hanging in the tree right near the coordinates that we had. Easy find for monkey maker.

This one had us going for a bit, the snake skins hanging in the trees had us on edge a little vut soon enough I spotted it. Rather obvious once ya find it.

Out and about with monkey maker and CoolumRoo having a go at the caches on South Straddy. We started at the top end and made our way south to Couran Cove. **End of Copy and Pate Section**
Im short and missed the obvious hole in the fork of the tree.
Monkeymaker spotted the container after spotting a wicked large snakeskin.
No need for parcel tongue today.

South Straddie Tipplers Trek - 2 days of paddling and caching fun with JaffaJ, Carlos the Jackal and geohubby Rob
We are on our way home now after staying overnight at Tipplers and collecting some of the GeoTour caches. It's a shame that you can no longer stay at 'The Bedrooms' nearby on South Straddie, but it is still a lovely spot to stop and have a rest. The tide was reasonably high, so we were able to paddle close to GZ (thanks for the convenient beach) After an initial search we came up empty-handed, but a quick read of previous logs soon had us in the right spot - how did I miss that! We had headed down to Jacob’s Well with our eye on two caches today, one was to complete a challenge which we had already picked up earlier on today and now it was this one’s turn as we wanted this one to fill in another little square on our grid.
Before we tackled this cache we headed over to Tipplers for lunch and a drink, it was very amusing there today, a group of 20 something foreign tourists arrived on a boat, they could not contain their excitement over the little wallabies hanging around Tipplers. The poor wallabies did not know where to turn, one minute they are happily being ignored from the Aussies and the next minute are being swarmed from a boat load of tourists. Our seafood basket came over and for one guy the wallabies were forgotten about, he was more interested in what we were eating and asking us what he should order.
We re-sunscreened up after lunch and set sail again, the tide is starting to work against us now and we can see it is starting to get a bit shallower on route to GZ but it is still deep enough for us to go through. Thankfully no one camping in this spot today so we were clear to search. We saw a giant snake skin in the tree before spotting the cache. We added our name and then headed back to the mainland…

Whilst staying on Stradbroke Is geo friends E:) and NeversayDi decided to grab a quick speed boat ride to look for this one during hide tide. We attended the GIFF nearby and hired Lachlan, the speed boat guy in South Stradbroke (0403304349) to take us there. Out this afternoon in Little Bro's boat for a bit of water-skiing / tubing and a spot of island-geocaching Stopped off at this quaint little island after lunch at Tipplers but then found it somewhat difficult to get the boat in close to GZ due to the outgoing tide. Got to about 180 metres from where the box was hidden and then pulled on the gumboots and hoofed the final yards around the shoreline. Great Hide in the big tree about 7 feet above the waterline with the young eagle-eyed niece spotting the box from below

Out on the water today to capture a Perfect Day, we ventured further North to pick up a few more while in the area.
With the tide on its way out, we had to motor in shallow water until we could get to the beach. Walking through the mud always is fun and trying to climb up trees with muddy shoes is even more fun!!! Checked all about and then spied the cache from another angle. Hubby made the grab, signed the logbook, took the TB to move along, and then replaced it back in its hide.
Back to the tinny and had to walk out a bit before we found deeper water to be able to drop the motor and off we went. Great day for boating!!!

Found with the crew of the GeoCruise 2014. I stayed with the boat as the tide was starting to run while the others went in search of the cache. We do deserve all our finds after putting up with the rain. Thanks for the cache THENANKS.
Out with the GeoCruise 2014 Crew after providing an advance note to the cruise sponsor the able bodied seamen of Ruzzlez, BrisTracker, Lost 2 FOund, Us3Scouts, K8'n'Co, Totalube, Seirra1 and Hot Wheels Duo set forth on to the high seas of Tipplers Passage in search of buried treasure left behind by ancient sailors called Geocachers.
It rained, it showered, sometimes it rained again but our sturdy craft withstood the tide and the ocean currents. Some sought shelter under the large canopy at the aft of the vessel, others sat stoically afore. Soon we were all standing as we pulled alongside in search of this cache.
As we cruised in to seek a landing point for this cache our progress was impeded by fishing vessels. A constant bearing, decreasing range could have spelt disaster. Once again Admiral Serra remained calm and avoided placing the crew in Davy Jones’ Locker.

Found with friends from the GeoCruise 2014. I was starting to get the hang of disembarking from the boat and at least there was more sand here than mud. I started to wonder if the cache wanted to be found as we were all looking around for this one with no success. We searched many places before finding the hiding spot. Yay! Didn't want a DNF today of all days as I think we deserved all finds after putting up with the rain. Thanks for the cache THENANKS.
Wanted to do this for years. But in my dreams it was sunny skies and pleasant breezes, not rain and cold and mozzies.
Knowing the Mexican I was fearing what this cache may hold for us. And at first we all thought this may be as devious. Eventually it turned out to be a group effort sort of cache blindness .
A great hide, still in great shape after many year in the wild.
Thanks

Our dedication to Herbz caches saw 8 of us us out on the water today, in a party boat, chasing some caches on the broadwater. With a plan of attack firmly in place, Ruzzlez, BrisTracker, Lost 2 FOund, Us3Scouts, Sierra1 , K8'n'Co and Totalube headed off from Sanctuary Cove. One of the big cruisers would have been lovely - however totally impracticle for getting into caches!
You would think with 8 people looking this would be a quick find - not so much! However, finally it was located and log signed. The funniest part of this cache was watching Ken jump when a crab bit him on the toe...hehehhehheh

Lots of eyes looking around here with totallube finally coming up with the goods.
Out with the Geocruise 2014 group.

Out for a kayak with Mr LLJ. Lovely day for a paddle [^] We aimed for this one and spotted a beach umbrella right where we wanted to be As we closed in we realised we may be lucky and sure enough, we were! Beating off the mozzies we soon found what we wanted. This cache is in excellent condition for having been here this long. Still plenty of swaps for any kids coming past
Lunch time! Need to paddle off to find a spot to eat. TFTC

Out for a day of fishing with Mickjor. The fish weren't biting so we decided to grab some nearby caches. This one was my 1000th find - glad to have a different type of search to mark the milestone. Tftc.
These water caches have been sitting at the top of our unfound caches list for so long because we couldn't get hold of any sort of water craft with a motor.
It would have been nice to think we could borrow a canoe or kayak and paddle our way around but when reality bites we are just too old and unfit to even attempt it.
I had never been out on a houseboat and Geo Wife had only been on one once quite a few years ago so we had the idea of combining a houseboat holiday with a caching adventure.
The boat was safely anchored away from the sand bars so Geo Youngest Girl and I (Geo Dad) headed to GZ in the tender.
I am certainly glad we didn't take the house boat any closer as even in the tender we hit shallow water.
We had a bit of a walk after hitting shore because I had chosen a spot out of the current to beach the tender but it was still pleasant as long as we avoided the mud.
We searched around for a bit but were convinced of GZ all the same then Geo Girl turned around and spotted our prize.
All was safe and dry so we added our name to the log, replaced the cache in its hidey hole and walked back along the beach.
I took a wide arch around the sand and had an incident free return to the house boat.
Thanks The Nanks TFTC SL

A bit over half way through our 15.5km paddle and our third and last target cache. TeamDFL started up one mangrove and spotted the container in the next. More squelching in the sticky mud and the find was secured. All dry and in good condition.
Another square on my D/T Matrix coloured in
Thanks for the cache, THENANKS. Cheers, svn07

Having achieved out goal of a perfect day we were slowly cruising back to our launch point. The mud at GZ made this one a bit more challenging Now we just have to paddle the 6km "home"
What a great spot and an even better hide. TFTC. Felt like Bass & Flinders circumnavigating Tasmania in a 6' tinny !
Boating day.....
Testing some equipment is usally hard work, but a break must be.
Got here for that purpuse

Took time out from a good days fishing to catch this cache thanks to skipper yetti72. Container high and dry.
Took a quick break from fishing with 57chev to grab this one. 57 smartly stood back and surveyed the area and located it and then straight in and up, got it. Good one.
We enjoyed a few days on a house boat with the family. Had a great time and wanted to find some caches to add to the memories. TFTC TNLN
Found on a Sundays mornings outing on the tinnie with GoodLooker and GeoDog. Forgot the rid! Cache in good order, nice n dry.TNLN, Thanks to "The Nanks" for the cache.
Scaled the wrong tree at first - then spotted it in a different one! Lovely location - thanks for the cache! We took nothing, left nothing.
Found with my 1st mate Seaman Lat&Long Junkie. This was our 1st of 4 finds whilst out in the newly aquired plastic punt or The Bedboat. Putted over from Jacobs well. Having found the Mexican it doesn't seem 57km away. Found the cache and all was Ok. TFTC.
First of four with geonephew 'Bedmaker'. Ripping up the bay at 4 kts in the bedyacht, we found this cache high and dry. Signed the log and rescued the Flat Out TB that's been here quite a while. Being a couple of "expert" navigators/sailors, we thought we'd reached South Stradbroke island, but soon realised a co-ordinate malfunction had brought us to Pandanus Island. Oh well, you get that from time to time . Hey, this boating's a bit of alright, isn't it [^]?
I have 1365 unfound caches within 80.4 km of my home coordinates - how on earth are the HawMorFords supposed to get every cache within 100 kms?? I'd be interested to know how they're going
100th Cache Find!
Paddled across to the island from Jacobs Well with geodad. Many mozzies at GZ! Luckily the cache was located quickly and we were on our way to South Stradbroke to find a couple of goats in a boat ... although I think we were the goats today!
Geocaching once again brings me to a spot I would never have otherwise gone to. This was one of those caches that certainly gives meaning to the saying "it's the journey that counts!"
Cache is in good condition, and there was no water in it.

First time out in the boat in ages, beautiful day, clear blue water, what more can you ask for. Well...apart from a few caches along the way. Mrs Herbz spotted this one fairly quicky. Nice hide.

Muddy feet and waist deep in water.
We anchored the boat about 500m to the north of the cache.
Heading south we had to cross a small channel. Fortunately it was low tide. A little mud and waist deep in the water we made it over to the island.
Found the cache ok. Watch out for those lazy drunks. A few broken beer bottles lay about so highly recommend shoes/thongs.

Based on If's log we were expecting a very muddy cache but thankfully the tide was high and the mud was not as plentiful. Thanks for giving us the incentive to get out here for the day. What a lovely spot and a great day on the water. TFTC
Out today with happyharries and angermanagement.
This cache was the second on our hit list for the day. The cache was a nice easy find. As the "others" didn't want to get there feet wet or muddy, I had to exercise my agility in "my bright orange spray jacket and size 10 gumboots" to extract the cache from its GZ.
After finding this cache, we stopped for lunch at Tipplers. Definitely recommend stopping in here for a bite to eat !! Very nice spot. Once luch was over we were off to the next "tinnie" cache for the day.
Thanks for the hunt thenanks.
Cheers,
[Mrs] Ksix

Out in the tinnie today on the Broardwater to nab a few long lost caches. Mrs AM and Mrs K-six were great deck hands not that there was much deck to look after. We had a great time out today boating is certinally a wonderful way to relax and when you combine it with caching what more could you ask for. This was our second island cache for the day lucky for us the tide was in so we landed the tinnie within 10m of the cache not so much mud for us.We located the cache quite quickly once back in the tinnie we headed to Tipplers for a great lunch. Thanks for bringing us here TFTC.
With vivid memories of the hunt for The Mexican still haunting me, I was hoping for something a bit easier to find here
Ay Carumba!! [:o]
Behind the inviting fringe of white sand was the field of mud
Beautiful sticky, clinging, gooey, black, squishy MUD
And somewhere in amongst the ooze between the toes stuff was a cache. A full 15 minutes of more fun than a sty full of piggies later I finally spotted the cache. In the darkness of the shadows it doesn't exactly stand out [^]
Now the bit of this cache chase that I really cannot believe was that after about 10 minutes in the morass, a muggle in a tinnie pulled up only about 20 feet away !! What is it with remote caches and muggles!! This happens so often as to defy probability [:o]
He couldn't see me though so I kept still and kept looking around me for any sign of the cache
Just after I spotted the booty, tinnie and muggle departed and the challenge of retrieving the cache with my mud encrusted feet began. LOL
Thanks for a fun cache chase today. Even the mozzies and sandflies were nowhere to be seen or felt

FTF - well it's a lot easier than "The Mexican" that's for sure (except for the mud on the feet). We spent a great day on the bay in our tinnie chasing a few caches. You can't get much better than being out on the water, especially when you can add in a bit of geocaching as well. TFTC.
