On a walk today of the Milford to Takapuna coast line caches. The tide was at full height and lapping around us, - unfortunately couldn't find this one
Couldnt find it looked like someone had been fixing their stairs and wondered if it had been moved?
Found quickly at GZ the 2 caches! The old one and the new one? Not sure how the old one ended up back in its original place ? Signed both logbooks, TFTC
Went at high tide, so had to take the jandels off to look for this one. Found the velcro, but I'm thinking that perhaps what was attached to it may have washed away?
Took a little while to find this one as first there was a small family of muggles right by GZ so we waited around for them to clear the area. Then we had a million interruptions with muggles walking past, I think they might have been wondering why we were sitting in the shade when one of us was shivering (very windy by the water this afternoon!). Fortunately there was a break in the "traffic" and we seized our chance. Nice camo as usual from the master! TFTC
We tried this one before on a busy afternoon but came up blank after 20 mins of constant muggle interruptions. This time near dusk on a windy day and no muggles in sight we had it in hand in seconds! Everything is very wet though and could do with a few days of sun to dry it out. Log may need replaced as we found it hard to sign being so damp.
Very clever hide though and TFTC

Can't say we saw any surfers here today. In fact, it looked a lot like a bay beach - just a slight ripple.
Nice place for a walk though, tide was out just enough.
Nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

Another nice walk and a superb hide to boot.

Out on a mission with Cadinut on a day of caching, starting from Milford and ending up at Leigh doing Stingray cache which is only accessible on a spring low tide. Had to jump up onto stairs and hold on as waves big. Tftc
A very clever hiding place. Many hands touched it, but no one realised that this was THE cache.

Very, very soaked.
I replaced the plastic bag and placed a new log in it. Left the wet log in there in case owner wants to collect it.
Needs another silicon (didn't have any with me).

Mum and Dad have lived in Ocean View Road for 34 years and I used to be able to see the right hand reef out of my bedroom window. I used to live for the odd easterly storm that would bring a good high tide swell to the reef and hang out with all the 'milford boys'. Learned to surf at Milford Reef using a really old dunger from under my neighbours house - remember him not being to impressed bringing it home one day with the nose crushed in from a mistake too close to the wall. Great memories from a really choice spot. Grabbed the cache during a quick trip to the beach yesterday. Quick find but as per previous log the paper is really wet and the velcro doesn't stick that well anymore. Great hiding spot but may need a little attention soon. Thanks for yet another great cache!
found with mondoolix (who made the find) - our 7th for today. great place to sit and watch the waves bounce off the wall and crash on the beach. the dogs seem to love it too thanks for the cache!
Out nightcaching with Rhodzrunner, this one had us going for awhile and the late night dog walker must have wondered what the hell we were up to! Found it in the end after exhausting all other options, great camo again. TFTC.
Out on a night hunt with Barkingmadnz.. this was our second find for the night... had us guessing for a while but eventually found what we had been looking at on more than one occasion... NOTE TO GLYN... this was a bit moist, might need to be dried out &/or another gel pack inserted, replaced paper carefully do as not to rip it.
FINALLY GOT TO THIS ONE-NICE HIDE-FANTASTIC DAY ON THE BEACH-UNFORTUNATELY DIN'T HAVE TIME TO LINGER-TFTC
Had my GCDD (GeoCaching Distraction Dog) with me, no problems with muggles. Fantastic camo TFTC
Tough to look without being spotted - well with five children anyway!!
Lovely disguise very well done for this one
Lovely disguise very well done for this one
fantastic camo and location. we arrived around high tide with muggles a plenty wandering by. no surf today. just lovely flat sea. tftc
An excessive number of muggles around... and they kept on arriving.... we put on a show and retrieved the cache very stealthily (we hope). t4tc
Im starting to like the "Glyn-Camo" hides. Had this one fairly quickly once I got a handle on the glistening in the sun comment. Thanks.
Beach was nice and quite due to the constant rain. This would be really difficult later in the holidays. TFTC
Called by this morning to find a lady writting her diary at GZ ... returned latter and it was soon in hand, love these hides. Thanks
your info re: - almost shows the cache glistening in the sun! - I dont know how it could do that considering where it is - especially as there are lots of "glistening" stainless steel nuts and bolts everywhere! - but otherwise this was the best hidden cache we have found so far - well done - booklet signed by - Raf & Keeg & Gil - otherwise known as - winwick
Quick walk up the beach with mm1968 to find this one. Fmailiar with these tricky-dicky hides so had this one pretty quickly. Great camo. TFTC!!!
Nice to come back to this cache to find it. Last time we visited it I think it was muggled.
Quickish find once found muggle all clear.

A day spent in the Milford/Takapuna area with kiwicouple.
Glyn can't fool us quite so easily these days. We know what to look for now, and quickly had this one.

Nice beach, but didn't see any surfers out today. Spotted the obvious GZ from the hint, and the cache was in hand soon after. We are learning the sorts of things to look for when its a Glyn hide! Thanks for this one.

Found fairly quickly, were "disturbed" by the local who lives just above the cache, we had to try and explain what we were looking for at 9pm just out the front of his place.
"do you have to do it at night?" he asked, hahaha. No we are just crazy folk who have nothing better to do!!
We had not found it yet at this stage, but i dont think you have to worry about him finding and taking the cache!!
Nice camo Glyn, very well camo'd.

We were most impressed with this cache. Passed our hand over it a few times and was clueless to its true nature. Didn’t have the hint with us, so the hunt was more challenging, but also more rewarding. Thanks for an excellent and memorable cache.
Why didn't we look there the first time? Should of expected camo like that and it would of saved us a second trip, however the beach is certainly worth visiting more than once. TFTC
Out this afternoon with Indiana Jill and Seattle's Best. Though IJ had already retrieved this one some months ago, SB's and I had ago....Great camo.... what can I say!! Thanks for the adventure. TFTC!
Indiana Jill, Kayaknkiwi and I were walking along the beach when IJ asked if we'd found this cache yet. So, she watched as we searched and retrieved said cache. Beauty of a hide!! TFTC!
Went and had a look for this, pretty sure we knew where to look but some maintenance work or replacement to where we think it was has been happening. Any chance we can confirm this.
Well we looked and looked and had turns sitting in the shade but to no avail. Has it gone or has a storm washed it away?? Not sure but may come back this way in a month or two and see if we can find again?
Wow - awesome cache!! Took a bit of searching, and a few false looks, but was on the right track with the falsies. Added some fresh silica gel as exist gel seemed damp.
Found within 30 seconds of reaching GZ. Sat in shade and saw Glyn type camo straight away. Cache wet - dried out, put silica bag with log as was slightly damp. Replaced cache other way up to how I found it, so hopefully won't get so wet. TFTC
2nd go at this one, took some reinforcements with me for distractions and my thinking paid off. Very impressive clever hide. Walked along this sea front many times. Thanks for getting me back here again. Also dried out bag inside and out and also inside of container. SL. TFTC.
Lovely night for a strolll on the beach with the dog. Lots of two & four legged muggles around but we managed to locate it and log our visit. T4TC.
This really had us stumped we had to be right on top of it - under it - playing with our 4 legged trainee guide dog decoy and couldn't find it. 0 for 2 on our Xmas hunt
Nice little hide, coords spot on (with the Tomtom)
Thanks for bringing me here.

An awesome cache after finding with my cousin mitchellisdabest(midb). Double took when realised the cache was the cache.

Glyn camo. Good job like always. We sat down at GZ for a while to take some nice pictures of Rangitoto in the sunset. Then, when the hordes of dog muggles had passed, Rala quickly retrieved the cache. Then we went out onto the ref (low tide) and enjoyed the end of the day.

6PM found it without too much muggle traffic at all. One lady stopped and looked back. Must not thought I was really doing seawall inspection or something. Anyway, nearly had to go the long way round to get back to my car as the tide was rushing in. Shared little bits of beach with total strangers at some points. Quite fun!
Log was a little damp so maybe next person in can add a moisture eater. I was traveling light so had none with me. Cheers G! You are the clever One.

I got up early to try and avoid muggles. Was at GZ but couldn't find cache. Sat on beach for awhile and enjoyed the early morning sun and glassy tom thumb sized break! went back an hour later for another look with GF as it was bugging me to no end, finally found it, nice camo job. signed log, Cheers.
Found it fairly quickly, hard part was waiting for a gap in the muggles walking their dogs! Cheers Gav [2353]
Found with Q Moto. Good fun in the dark. Cache was very well attached almost couldn't get to it. TFTC.
Well this seemingly easy cache was harder than it looked!
DNF as I think that it has been muggled.
I suspect the elevation units have been changed recently as the wood is quite new here compared with the old side supports.
Looked all over and not even any velcro leftovers.
May pay to go and check this one.
What a nice spot though! Always have liked this area.
Cheers.

Fifty metres out, I thought this will need to be a tricky hide. Sure enough, both tricky and clever too.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
There were a lot of 2 and 4-lgged muggles about going for their early morning (0745) walk/run on the beach.

Cheers for the cache.

Walked up the coast from the nearby earthcache. A super walk, passing some fantastic properties on the way and several joggers risking their ankles on the rocks! This was a very clever hide. SL. TFTC.
Also logging in and out our England Geocoin.

I arrived in Aukland today from Durham, NC, USA at 5:45 a.m! We needed to try and stay awake so we took a walk along the beach and tried to find a few caches. It's lovely here! TFTC!
Coords spot on... took a few minutes to find as we couldn't see the wood for the trees... SL TFTC...
Nice spot out of line of site... found this after a few minutes searching with the eyes then pulling it out of it's hidey hole. TNLNSL TFTC
Accosted by a couple of old biddies and there cute dog whilst searching for this one. Nice easy find TFTC
What a great hiding place!
My little boy and I stumbled around looking for it and couldn't find it. So eventually I sat down to ponder and as not to attract too much notice. That was definitely a very good idea (hint, hint)
By the way, you can't walk all the way along the beach from milford if it's high tide - you get really wet!
Thanks for the little adventure!

No surf today and also no people on the beach in the rain, cache found in the first place I looked.
Our 400th cache
Heaps of muggles and their dogs out walking. Really clever cache.

No problems with the camo (I'm used to you now Glynn!)
The passers by were wondering if there was a drink fountain there as I tried to set my camera on the wall with the timer on. Nice action shot...

Absolutely excellent disguise, and had almost given up when my other half spotted it.
Very good hide.
Very good hide.
Perfect cache to have kids along to act as decoys! Clever hide in a very public area. Spent half an hour afterwards on a crab hunt in the nearby rockpools.
Thanks
Thanks
Really had to wait this one out.... two muggles having an intense conversation just 2m away. One cute dog digging a deep hole, thought he would tumble into it, and need resucuing!
Lots of other muggles passing by. Great view with plenty of time to admire. Lots of shoe tying etc....
Eventually got a gap in the traffic and found one very clever cache hide. Great!

1.30pm. Thought that on a squawly day when you could get drenched at a moments notice it was likely to be free of muggles. Not so - many fools were out waiting to get wet. Arrived at GZ but could not attempt a decent search between muggles so retired for another day.

Another great camo job by Glyn. We used our 5 year old as an extraction device... Lots of people walking by, so we had to get our timing right.

Muggles, muggles and more muggles.
Mrs sp8 was about to give up, but I must be learning some patience after all, finally a clear gap and the cache was retreived. Then more waiting to put it back.
