22-Jan-10
Need to check final

22-Jan-10
Found cache number one with Cabhassett this afternoon but we weren't able to find number two. Pretty certain at the right spot so will check with TWS. Think we've interested a muggle in geocaching, she was curious to know why she's seen so many people visit this spot! TFTC

13-Jan-10
Found number 1 but ran out of daylight for number 2 , will try again on another visit.

20-Nov-09
Wow alot harder than i thought! but finally got it after 3 shots @ it.

16-Nov-09
Our only failure for this day. Saw a possible nail and lots of trees but no WP1..Thought we'd try to piece together the logs, looking for doves, garrulous old men, kauris, stumps... but we didn't stand a chance. Pretty little lake but we dont want to live here either.

29-Oct-09
ditn`t find it maybi next time...

24-Oct-09
2nd time lucky. 1st time had trouble with WP1 (not seeing the wood for the trees). Spotted this time and found WP2 after only a short look over the area. Nice placement of cache and loved the tame doves nearby.
Out - T/B Move it! Move it!

Second time lucky.... Although the honours go to Mrs Clan Fraser. Dont know why I didnt see it the first time. TFTC

09-Oct-09
Now this is my kind of multi....simple! Found WP1 no problems and made away to GZ. I was interrupted by a local who as telling me about the Kauri and Oak trees that he has planted in the area. After a prolonged conversation with him, I followed the hint and went straight to it. Thanks.

23-Sep-09
Any word on this one? Did I just miss it or has it indeed been muggled? I notice none has found it since I logged my DNF. (Formerly TheShanan)

02-Sep-09
Found stage one easily enough... although I got a little help from a local who had obviously seen my kind before. lol
The final on the other hand... I think it may have been muggled. I couldnt find it... although I was not as thorough as I could have been due to muggles. I did find a bunch of cache contents floating around on the grass... small plastic yo yo... several cacher cards etc. Methinks Muggled?

01-Aug-09
TWS as driver Kiwileon as co-pilot,

Muggles were quite nosy....and slow.

Final is just where I would have put it.

01-Aug-09
Checked the final, gave it a dry out

01-Aug-09
Out with OG Phatazz in the Wonderzone with TWS as our driver today. He didn't gave us any hints for WP1.
Final was quickly found. Nice area.
Thanks for bringing us here.

25-Jul-09
First stage took a bit of finding, second stage easier, but had to wait for passing muggles to move on before retrieving + moving away. Container a bit damp but logbook still ok

We didn't manage to find WP1 - it completely eluded us today. We then had our lunch in an area that could have been home to the Final but today was not our day for fluking anything.

Thanks

17-Jan-09
After looking for quite a while finally spotted the micro, Very cunning cammo, its almost impossable to see.
Found the way to the final and was soon in hand.

16-Jan-09
Stumpped [?] [?] Stuck on WayPoint1. Camo must be very good. We know it's there becuase it's been found since. We will return to try again.

01-Dec-08
Nice walk through the local area. TFTC

15-Oct-08
Such a lovely neighbourhood & great pathways to meander about the lake! teeming with fish & beautiful water lillies (or are those lotus?)
Unfortunately, Cam's camo evaded me and I could not find the micro. Reading the clues, I did see what I suspected to be GZ, but an old fella was out enjoying the sun and keeping a watchful eye.... so no cache for me; thanks anyway!

14-Oct-08
Found it on our second attempt. Thanks for the multi-cache and enjoyed the walk around Orewa.

20-Sep-08

Visited by Scouts doing Cossgrove Navigation skills camp.
Cool location - kids really enjoyed this cache! Spoke to little old lady living close to the cache who said she gets a kick out of watching people looking for it!

Nice easy finds as our first cache in NZ having travelled from the UK on holiday. The micro cache wasn't as expected compared to what we call micros in the UK, but we were very impressed by the camouflage!! TN left our very own Travel Bug key ring "Cheshire Cats, Manx Cat & Legs". Here's hoping it visits many countries around the world. TFTC.

26-Jan-08
We had just reached Wpt 1 and were having an initial reccie, when we heard a voice over a nearby fence saying 'have you found it yet?' So we had a quick talk with a resident, who seemed to know all about it and in fact pointed out that we were looking in the wrong place, but we soon sorted out where we should be.

No problems at the final either, in fact it was pretty exposed so we covered it up a bit better so it won't go MIA.

We really enjoyed this area, the paths are nice and level and are just right for a 6 year child who wants to use his scooter!

Phew, we got this done eventually. Printed the details off a long time ago to do this cache one day after a visit to the inlaws, who live nearby. When a suitable day arrived, it rained. So, explained to them how this geocaching works and showed them on the satellite map where WP1 would be. They could not find it, so I went for a search with Di. No luck either. Decided to check the logs and happened to notice, that coordinates for WP1 had changed. So today we tried again, with inlaws off for a walk. Find WP1 easily and got them really excited about the amazing world of geocaching and the great camo. Off to WP2. We spent more than 20 minutes at WP2 looking for something just hanging about with 4 people. No luck. Back home to inlaws place to see if the logs could give any clues, but reading the all did not really help. Then checked, if hints had changed as well and yes, there are now only 2 steps in this multi. So, Di found it within 5 seconds on our way home at the location where had been looking up for so long. Thanks for the cache.

Well you've read it all from Roel. Hopefully we can convince the parents that caching is not the same as looking for needles in haystacks!

29-Dec-07
Would have missed the first waypoint but luck shone on me in the form of the rising sun shining in a bit of metal. An amazing micro, and a final find to the finish. TNTN

4.30pm. Got to GZ no problem, but muggles were flying a kite about 6m away, so decided to do another day and not compromise the cache.
Cheers M+S [:O)]

Seemed to have missed this one on a previous visit to the area but top of the list on my way past up to Whangarei. Nice camo at both stages, nearly missed WP1. Interesting use of public land by the local residents.
Enjoyable cache and just right to get me into the swing of another busy day caching.

27-Oct-07
Real nice jaunt in the park on a sturday afternoon. Went to the wrong wpnt first, checked on the Ipaq (couldnt live without it!)found the co-ords changed.Dont know why GSAK didnt change it, have to look at that. Armed with that data we found the well camoed wpnt, only to be challenged by Tufty's mate over the fence on whether we had found it!
On our way again, we were again challenged by someone else who was wondering what we were up to on trying to find when on the wild goose chase. He thought we were pinching plants from the garden there! We had to tell him (an ex sergeant major he appeared like)what we were about.
Final was a breeze compared to the first part, nice hide, nice walk, Thanks!!

Now that it is back up the area deserved another visit. Had a 15 minute talk with a neighbour to the now WP1. He was about to trim one of the trees in the park close to WP1's GZ. He thought it is a great hobby.

Cheers for the cache.

Liked the WP 1 & 2 camo. Muddy old area for final, but thats why we take gumboots along. What a huge number of new houses round here. TFTC

05-Aug-07
Loved the intermediate waypoints, which were found quickly. Very muddy approach to the final, and couldnt help but leave muddy prints up to the cache. Hopefully our circumnavigation will fool any would be trackers.
Just got the cache open as it started to rain, very quick log and then a sprint back to the car. Running on the boggy ground resulted in mud, right up the back of the legs.

Nice little lake for the locals. Followed sp8sm8's footprints to the final Wink

FTF on a very wet morning. WP1 straight forward but I felt a bit like I should be waving to the people in the houses getting out of bed Wink. WP2 gave me a little trouble but I think just bad weather affecting GPS coverage as it put me in the middle of the grass some 8m approx from the 3 nearest possible hiding spots, but I got it. Final location nicely situated.

Thanks!

Originally, we wanted to go on a hike through the Waitakeres with a workmate of Rala, but the weather ruined that plan.
So we drove North to try an FTF. The rain soaked us very quickly and the lake had already set some of the pathways under water - not to speak of the squishy grass. No problem with WP1, 10 minutes for WP2 and no problem with the final. STF - yeah.
We envy the people living in that little paradise. Or not? Is it really that optimal to have the garden open to the public park?
