We wanted to continue our tradition of mountain climbing for every 100th cache, we decided on this one because of the low-ish terrain rating.
Firstly, what a c*** of a climb, but we will get to that later.
Using the advice in the description, we decided to park at the waypoint by the private sawmill and luckily we did because not 20 metres further the track is a muddy sludge and heavily washed out, the first kilometre or so was calm and pleasant, we also got to enjoy a 'periscope' by Seemyshell and then the "fun" began, there is no word to describe the sheer steepness of the track, our progress plummeted dramatically, probably not helped by the 35 degree heat.
We thought it was almost over once we reached the burnt out car but no, the torture continued, at least we were able to entertain ourselves trying to work out what the many car parts that littered the track were. Eventually though, after what seemed like an eternity, we spotted the trig, what a beautiful sight. We then proceeded to walk over to GZ and began our hunt. We didn't come all the way up here for nothing, thankfully after searching in a few spots we had cache in hand, that marks number 700 for us.
Thanks for the adventure Grahame Cookie, although the terrain could probably be bumped up a little

Got up in 2wd drive locker on broken front axle a bit of slipping but made it to the top found cache nice hiding spot thanks
A day off work today so an opportunity for some 4 wheel driving and caching. Took a mate to this one as I had found it before. Last time I walked this one from the mill at bottom of hill. Today, with my new (to me) toy (Pajero), we drove most of the way. Great fun!!
Wow!! Tftc!! Quite a hike and great views. Parked about 2 Kms away and had kookaburras laughing at me for first km. Now I know why. Hoping walk back is easier.
A rode shotgun with a few mates going 4wdriving, and decided to check if the cache was still here. It is still here but unfortunatley my name was not in it from last visit due to a new log book.
The geokid needed to burn off some school holiday energy so we took this mission on and oh what a mission it was.
Dropped by this afternoon, as in, left the bike behind, and took the 2 foot approach. Don't think I would want to ride up here too often. Replaced the container, and moved ever so slightly ->

All good, great views. TFTC, Discover Me tag through

On my approach, a bloke with his young son rode up on a big quad bike. I told him I was going for a hike and he told me I wouldn't get there in my 4x4. I took his advice, and just over the unpassable bump in the road was a wading pool sized puddle. So I packed my bag and off I ran. There was another huge hole just around the corner too. The running didn't last too long, boy did this get steep.
In under 30 minutes I was there looking for the cache. There was plenty of evidence of local hoons and that put a dampner on my search, as it took about 10 minutes to find. I just didn't look in the most obvious of hiding spot
What a great view and well worth the effort.
There was only some rocks, shells and a hand drawn map in the cache. It would appear that a kid's comes up here with their great grandfather and log it every visit[?]
Thanks Cookie
Cheers from Browngang

Found cache sitting on trig, GPS said it was hidden 50m more north, which led me to a tree, the tree had a trail to it, i thought that the cache was ment to be there, i looked at the log book and found that it had been written in by muggles (some entries were discusting) signed the log book and placed the cache where i thought it was origianally placed, Cache probably needs a check-up
11 yr old Geokid was on a Scout hike up Khatabundah. Whilst stopped for lunch a couple of scouts spotted the cache. Experienced Geokid explained Geocaching to the muggles, signed the log and replaced the cache. - A good find without the GPS.
Replaced pen, and secured the cache better. Nice to have a lift up here - thanks to PPRASS
Found at 3.15pm GAFF1 in the ompany of Grahame Cookie. So glad that we could drive up here - saved a lot of time and energy for the climb upto Goonook.
Fantastic views of the valley from a different perspective. Th cache was found exposed on the ground and very damp.
Thanks Grahame Cookie.

Had word from a workmate that their son had been up Khatabundah, and 'stumbled across' the cache. Will get back up there some time to check out the placement - but it is still there !!
I am very happy to break the cache finding drought, it's been a while since this was last found. Well I had to park at the saw mill and walk up the hill, and is quite a steep walk. After 40 mins walk I reached the summit with an altitude of 320m and was rewarded with a great view.
I woke Idaho bear from his sleep and left Eura to blossom in the "alpine" area.

Found at approximately 7mins past 7am on the 7th of the 7th 2007. went up mountain with cookie and family to enjoy the morning in nature on this special day and watch the sunrise
Dropped into the cache on Friday, took a photo, camped overnight down the hill, then came back up after sunrise, at 0707 on 07/07/07 to take another photo. Doesn't that make you feel all gooey! Brought Idaho 2007 Mcro Geocoin (NSW, Aust) up to visit one of the closer 'mountains' of the area, before being released to the public.
Had a shocker here today, approached from the North-West and took what looked to be a road that went close to the cache, was private property and was 1.4km from the GZ at the end in any case. Asked the residents and they gave me dodgy directions to the track that would help me out. Tried another few roads, then re-read the cache page and tried to find the sawmill, got it after a little while and a few more tracks. Now there were 2 tracks near the mill, one on either side, one was at a rifle range and said you couldn't go down it because of live firing, so headed back. Tried the other.but it ended up going back to town. Went back up it and through a little goat track, through one gate, and a few holes in fences but couldn't get any close that 1.9km to GZ - would need a pretty well set up 4WD to get closer. Couldn't figure out how to get to the smaller mill at all. After an hour I gave up on this one.
Any hints on how far you'd need to walk or which track to go up / if you need to go through gates etc? 2km+ walk each way is a fair hike for a round trip up a hill - doesn't say in the listing how far to expect.

2250 - Cache check with Ranger Dan in his 4wd. Hairy coming all the way up from the west, even hairier coming down. Great fun with the family; celebrated with bubbly at the top.
FTF. At 2245 by 4wd so I took 2½ terrain coming up, and 3½ coming down, because of the rain. I did not use my G.P.S for this one because I had left it at home. But Grahame Cookie put me about 20 metres away from GZ, and I found it with great ease. Nice container. Nice spot for a cache. Nice views.
TNLNSL. Left my swaps at home.

Took Aslan TB, but he would not fit, so left the Idaho Bear to hibernate a short while on Khatabundah Mountain
