As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Came here to complete the second Mission Impossible challenge, but this one wasn't it. Couldn't even find WP1, so gave it away for another day.
Armed with some new information and the ability to skip straight to the final my search began. Two sets of stairs were located and I only had to search west of them. In fairness I may not have searched west enough as indicated by previous logs but I did search and was unsuccessful. I'll be back. Hopefully the CO could clear the 3 maintenance requests after all, this multi is over 9 years old with 278 finds - It deserves to live on
Cache does not appear to be at GZ, where I've previously found it. Which is, as stated, West of the rather obvious steps... Cheers, GC.
Tried bridge number and that took us to a secure area in town. Went back and found nothing at the hint. The CO needs to check on the first stage.
I think this might need maintenance. Please advise because if this was found a week ago - then they've done a lot of work in this area in seven days. Cheers Eruptn.
Grabbing a few caches in the area with Metzgan, before heading back to Auckland after a fun weekend away, complete with road tripping, caching and running a Team Relay Marathon around Lake Rotorua. Quickly found the first waypoint, and had to expand the search a wee bit for the final. A nice area to explore here, thanks for sharing!
Nice little mini-multi, where I found the cache on the first try. Tnx for the hide.
Caching in New Zealand. Thanks for the fun, puzzles and hides from a Californian cacher. All logs marked with a "Circled GB". Not where expected, further West

My first multi. 1st found easily. 2nd found just as my mobile battery was dying and I was about to give up. Further west than I initially looked
3rd attempt. Finally got my hands on it thanks to a hint from a previous log. GPS told me it was somewhere completely different. I assume muggles have infiltrated this one as there was explicit grafitti in the logbook. Put it back where I found it. Thanks to CO for bringing me to a new location with interesting history.
Having had two past attempts at this cache the last week I gave in and asked another cacher who had found it before to come with me and show me where it was. He showed me where he had found it (based on the clues and GPS co-ordinates it was where I thought it would be), unfortunately it's no longer there. We had a good scout around the area in case it had been moved with no luck. CO it might pay to check up on this one, based on my friends description of the container it may have been muggled by some kids.
This was great fun finding! I had no idea the second spot was here and it was cool to find out some local history as we haven been in Rotorua long enough to know the local tales. Nice & kid-friendly if they're not too spooked by dark locations... O is 3 and loved it! Easy find when you don't look in the obvious spot (which I did with flashlight & all, hoping no spiders would jump on me!!) Thank you very much for the great cache! We took nothing & left a bunch of swag for the kids
* The log book is a bit damp but nothing major. We could still sign it ok, but just wondering how it will go in winter weather.... if I had a clip seal bag on me I would have popped it in sorry. Next time maybe when I drag a non-local along caching!

Gathered the required info and headed off to gather the cache. Attacked by the thorns and ended up with a few stuck in my head! Gathered the cache and on to the next cache. Thanks for this little multi adventure.
On a brief road trip down to Rotorua to explore part of the Thermal Explorer Highway together with my mom. Decided to take the evening for a quick stroll around the motel area to collect some smileys. TFTC
Found the first part quick enough (very clever hint) but took some looking for the final GZ. Found it after extending my search further than where I thought it would be.
Continuing our 6 week tour of New Zealand and sadly nearing the end, today we drove from Opotiki to Rotorua. After a few stops and then finding somewhere to stay, I went for a walk around town to find some more caches and see some of the geothermal sights.
I had awful trouble with this one. Spent a really long time on the first part - couldn't find anything. Eventually saw something likely and spent 10 minutes extracting a sandwich container from a thorn bush. Eventually wisened up and found what I was looking for. Thankfully the second part was pretty straightforward except for an somewhat aggressive pukeko.

Visiting from UK. Hired a sleeper car and travelling round the north island seeing the sights, visiting a few friends over here and hopefully picking up a few caches. Been up north and seen some wonderful sights, done some walking and learnt some information about the country and it's inhabitants. Came back to our friend in Auckland. Went to the Bunker Folk club at Devonport Monday night, excellent. Set off for Gisborn to see more friends and see sights, including the Coromandel. Saw some very interesting places and met some lovely people . From Gisborne to Napier and Lake Taupo, Whakapapa very cold and wet, visited glow worms at Waitomo now at Rotorua. Had a lovely day at Te Pui and the sun was shining. Out for a walk around the park. Wasn't sure how to work out the first part. Kept checking gps for GZ. Suddenly eagle eyed geohubby spotted something not the same. Went the rest of the way to the final cache. TFTC
Found it after a bit of roundabout folders and others, pukekos included Log very damp, needs a bag but didnt have one with me. Logging very late as stored on my iphone, forgotten and now have to log before the app changes. TFTC
The lunch break at the ulearn conference looked long until I went hunting fur the cache. Only had time for stage one at lunch and had to back for the final at the end of the day. Stage 1 well placed as was the final which was also well protected! A few scratches for my troubles there but all good fun. Tftc
Found at 2:49:00 p.m. on 6/10/2014.
Found on a conference trip to Rotorua.
A well-worked cache - grabbed between rain showers.

Was a bit wet today, but a nice relatively quick find at lunch time. Lots of pukekos about, we were starting to wonder if they were planning an ambush!
Out and about with HKCB for a day's caching: we left Hamilton bright & early, planning to get to Rotorua via Tokoroa with more than a few stops along the way ... hoping for lots of caches & only a few showers but, with torrential rain all morning & a duo of cachers looking like drowned rats, we thought we were going to have to abandon our initial plans. Thankfully the rain had finally stopped by the time we reached here plus, even better, the recent downpour meant very few muggles wandering around today - phew!
Nicely placed info at stage 1 & then a bit more of a walk around this great location for us before eventually heading off to look for the final. Not in the 1st place we tried but, while I was trying to check past logs for clues, I realised HKCB was already grinning .... nice one! Thanks for a great little multi, Eruptn

Out for a full days caching with Kiwis69. The weather forecast wasn't the best, and we hoped we could make the finds between the gaps in the showers. Unfortunately most of the morning there were very little gaps and we spent a lot of time in the rain, shame we couldn't add "may require wading/swimming" attributes to the caches. Sun had come out by the afternoon which allowed us to dry out. Thanks everyone for the placements.
Great multi!! Had a small hiccup for not reading the instructions properly and had the GPS pointing us into the middle of the lake. Once corrected thou, a short walk to the final. Initially looked in the likely spot but couldn't see anything, but worked out where the cache was once the GPS settled down.

This was a most enjoyable multi where we learnt a lot about the history stopping off at the information signs along the way. Found the first clue and made our way to GZ where we soon had cache in hand. Log book a little damp but still able to be written in. left the TB as already have a few travelling with me. TF the great cache.
First stage found reasonably easily although second stage took a little more looking in the rain. Dropped off a TB from Germany which I had picked up in the UK so should add quite a few more miles to his travelling record. TFTC.
Multis are probably my favourite cache type, particularly liked Stage 1 of this one. 2nd of 4 on a walk with Mr PB, he found the second stage after a search. TFTC
Interesting bit of history here, a couple of snuggling muggles almost GZ but found quickly out of their view when I decided to trust the GPS

An interesting story about this sanatorium. Another fact we would have missed without geocaching... WP1 was a quick find and at the final it took some minutes because the GPS was bouncing in all directions. But after an unsuccessful search in the most obvious hiding place we found it in a more hidden location. TFTC (#9626)
A creepy part of town, well-known by us locals for scary rumours. Thanks for the cache....A few blackberry spikes later.
Caching in Rotorua with nzkeko on a gorgeous day so was nice to do this cache. Once we got to GZ we had quite a search but my mate came up trumps as he always does! TFTC
Omg. Good half hour spent hunting for this one! Just about to give up and boom.
Interesting history, and got to the final location OK. Did not feel very comfortable here (as a woman on my own) with all the rubbish and toilet paper so left after a short look.
Found the first part OK but GZ was a disgusting place full of human waste and toilet paper. Did not find the cache and we were glad to leave.
On the other side of the world we had an amazing experience while traveling New Zealand. Great impressions, lovely places and nice geocaches all over. Thanks for inventing and hiding. Lemmer
On great tour with Lemmer in New Zealnd we foundamazing spots. Thanks for all of it. Flatrate
It took us a few minutes to find this cache, proof that you should always trust the GPSr, sometimes [:o)]

Clever first stage. Seen some like this in the USA. Nearly gave up at stage 2 but decided to widen the search and soon found the cache. Sneaky. Took the TB. TFTC
Our GPS took us to a bridge over a pond but the comments that have been logged say it's on some steps by a sanatorium. Not sure what went wrong there!
Failed to find this one previously but no problems this time - looking back I can see what my problem was. TFTC, #5509
We found this cache while our 3,5-week journey through New Zealand. What an amazing country. Sorry for this short log, but time is short and we would see so more things. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Germany. AchSu

Found during an afternoon walk, fairly windy today so no muggles about. We notice the trackable in the inventory was reported as "not in the cache" over 2 years ago, you may want to mark it as missing? Otherwise all good with the cache, nice little hidey hole. TFTC!
What a beautiful sunny day for caching! I had a great walk around the area, picking up caches including this one.
No problems with the waypoint and off to the next. I liked this one as it brought you to somewhere different and showed a bit of local history off the beaten track. No problems finding the cache.

Thought I would give this ago at lunch today even with all the did not finds . Was a very quick multi and is still in working order.
Clue said near steps, there weren't any as the GPS took us to the board walk over the ponds so couldn't find anything.
No wonder there are so many muggles! They seem to be attracted to cacheing spots to canoodle! Damn you!
A good walk after lunch in the park. It is great that there are so many caches in this area to walk to. An interesting piece of history that I had never heard about. Left Rattll's blue whale stone and a CITO bag.
In the area today cleaning up a few of the caches along the lake front. A quick find for the waypoint and found the final in the third place I checked. All in good condition. Signed log, TFTC!
This was one of the caches we found during our holiday in NZ.
We enjoyed caching around this beautiful country. TFTC!

Was over this was today with Mrs Dragon collecting a few caches before visiting friends at Wingspan, we have both enjoyed our walk.
Walked in from Motutara Point, Soon located WP1 and off to the final. Had to wait momenterily for muggles to move off and then soon located it hidden out of sight.
Watched golfers tee off with slice shots, they play about as well as I do

Found with stairman1. This was a nice and easy multi. Although we had trouble with the final location. The container has serious cache creep . We nearly gave up until but stairman1 persevered and located the container. All is good. TFTC
A great multi here for goldielover and I. Made our way to GZ over some very dry fields. The drought is playing havock with the grass. Took quite a bit to find the cache here. Quite a way from where our co-ords had us. Cache is in great condition

Located the first waypoint which led us to a place that definitely fitted the description, but could not locate cache.
Multi done & dusted. Replaced plastic bag for the log. All else in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the really nice multi! First tried looking for the cache from the wrong side though.
Short stop in "stinky" Rotorua very nice place...thanks for the cache which was found quickly on a sunny day

Did the legwork for this one yesterday when we walked from our campsite to the museum around the lake. The final was a detour, so I left it until today to pick it up in a nice quiet place. TFTC
Our first ever multi-cache, we had fun doing this with the kids after the find. the kids then played on the hill. TFTC.

Not where I first looked but not far away. A bit of natural warmth coming from the hole it is in as well.

Quickly to the final and, typically bloke-ish, jumped to a conclusion that had me ratting around in a somewhat less than salubrious area. Finally rethought it all and there it was, safe and sound and dry as a bone. TFTC
