I see the Pig's Snout is on display just behind the fence on Anzac Avenue now....couldn't get close enough to see the cache.

Gotta see if this is still accessible to all and sundry.. They went and moved it the sods!!!
No Pigs snout in sight on the day we were there. I did see it parked out the back on a subsequent day, so it looks like it's been moved.
Expected the pix in the cache to be what I would find at GZ, however I have to agree with Gunnie 69. Missed it for about 5 minutes while I carried out my airframes maintenance inspection, then all became obvious.
Thanks for taking me up close to such a proboscis!!!! I have been putting this one off for ages, but definitely worth the visit.

Entered into the book of LEDGIN'S. I finally got here when the Museum gate was open. Checked out the exibits. Great. Found cache OK. Sl. Thanks for bringing me here Rastas000.
Ah, the mighty Pig. I see these on a daily basis and never tire of their majesty. There will never be another....
What surprised me about this cache is how "Visible" it is. Not sure whether it is in it's original GZ but, it is very obvious.
Very easy find and with all the blinds drawn in the museum, business could be conducted without any problems.
Cheers

We arrived at 3.55 pm ready to do a quick hunt, but just as we pulled up the staff all walked out, locked the gate and went off. Damn... we needed to be 5 mins sooner. Anyway, interesting objects out there ... will have to return another day...eatmorchickin & Stigglepot from Brisbane
Quick grab on the way through town, great spot must bring the little fuddleys back for a proper look around. TFTC
Quack! or Oink! Found with Diesel48. Lots of interesting stuff here to see but for another time. TFTC =]
Up for the weekend doing some caching and having a very successful time. Found the cache in company with Duck. Good Hide TFTC TNLN SL
Found at 1310 today. Did not have to use the GPSr as I knew where the object was as I drive past it every few weeks on my way to Bunnings after visiting my parents. Did not take long to discover the GZ and container. Nice quick find. TFTC.
In Toowoomba for Father's Day dinner at Weis. I overlooked this cache while geodad spotted it from across the road!!!! Gobble Gobble. TFTC
Found with temingi. GPS didn't want to settle today but did a breif search of the general area. Would be good to come back with more time to spare and look inside. TFTC
My 300th find! Fortunately for me it wasn't hidden on one of the guns as I have terrible trouble with that type. The snout has certainly changed since the photo was taken. Here's a question for you. Back in the late 60s 7SD had a Mustang fighter in the parade ground which was eventually replaced by a Sabre. Do you now where the Mustang went? I shall have to do some research. Finding this cache reminded me of the fighter. A Mustang or a Sabre - there is no comparison. I note that 7SD is now a nursing home!Thank you.
The storey or should I say saga from this cache started out in Seymor Vic while doing the cache “Bust my Buffers†after refueling the land rover there was a small problem of getting the car to start after several turns of the key it started and we were on with the jorney. After a few months past by and with no car problem I was in Melbourne for the weekend when again it failed to start but this time it took half hour to kick over having to then take the car and refuel for the trip back to Shepparton it wouldn’t restart again this was even more of a problem for the next day beening the Monday I was driving to Brisbane arrrrrrrrrrrrrh I put off the trip until I could have a mechanic check out the problem after taking it to an auto elect and 2 other mechanics no one could find the problem as the car never faulted while at the mechanics workshop. Unfortuntly I had to start making the trip to Brisbane. Having no more car dramas I made it to Sydney for the night and headed to QLD border but while refueling in Muswellbrook the car would not start again. This time I called the local machanic who was great. I managed to get the the car started and to his workshop he put it on the hoist and checked the fuel lines but not beening a land rover specialist he was unable to find the cause he then organized the dealership in Tamworth to take a look very helpful guy and no charge high praise to this young fella. I drove to Tamworth they had the car there for about 3hrs but their scanner would not communicate with the vechical. Gave me all the phone numbers of qld dealers who may be able to help. I rang Brisbane and both dealers couldn’t help until Tuesday six days away so I rang the next closest dealer in Toowoomba they were great “bring it in tomorrow morning†so I made the trip from Tamworth to Toowoomba only stoping the once to refuel arrived at 11.30pm spent the night in the car just out of town due to all the motels being closed for the night. They checked out the car found out the cause which was a crank shaft sensor and had a replacement flown in from Sydney the next day so Friday I was back on the road again……… Sorry about all that log but I like to use Geocaching as sort of a diary. Now to the cache because of its close location to the land rover dealership I was able to wander over while the car was been repaired and make my first Queensland find (one to remember) at the end of it all I am glad I had the chance to check out this great town thanks for the hide.

Heh, heh, loved the cache name
I didn't read the cache notes first (as usual ) so I had a chuckle as I knew where the cache was hiding as soon as I strolled up to GZ. The lack of intel also nicely explained why the gates were still locked at 9.20am too. So all I could do was look through the chain link fence like a little kid at the airport
But there were other caches to be found nearby and a return visit later fixed the access problemo

Found at 1300hrs. Stealth was the name of the game. Even though it was a week day there was plenty of activity. This is a wonderful museum - well administered and I recommend that when visiting the cache you take the time to have a look. TFTC.

I couldnt pass through Toowoomba without picking up a couple of caches now....could I?
Nice easy find. Cache dry and in good condition.
I've put a return visit on my 'to do' list.
Thanks Rastas
Found this one at lunch time on Saturday. Only had to 'act casual' when one group of people visited the museum although it's probably far busier during the week. Fortunately, I didn't need to be too stealthy on the day.
In the company of lochb, who has logged a visit to this cache before, and with some gentle encouragement to look carefully I found the cache (and some nearby cobwebs)after a 5 min search.
Didn't have time to pay a visit to the museum itself but I'll put that on my list of things to do...TFTC!

Nice quick find at 1235hrs. I was only next door to this cache 3 weeks ago and didn't realise there was a cache so close. Interesting museum too!

TFTC! Lived in Toowoomba a long time and have never been. Highly recommend a visit to the museum whilst doing this cache.
Kids found it nice and quick so we decided to go inside and check out the museum for an hour or two.

Have been wanting to do this one for a while but every other time I went to do it the place was shut.
I didn't write my name in the log as i forgot to bring a pencil.

A quiet Sunday morning. A perfect time to grab this one. Nicely hidden. Thanks Rastas000
Not your everyday garden ornament, I'll admit, but I'd give away much for a ride in a real one of these ... insert long emotional sigh ... found the cache quickly with 'Bedmaker'. TN/LN/SL and headed off, very appropriately, to 'flying views' .
It was very quiet at the museum. Cache found easily by the junior cacher who was keen to explore the PIG. TFTC
We Haven't had a chance to stop and look for the cache, but we drove past this morning and the Museum does appear to be open again.
Checked again last week.. Still closed for some reason!!! I am told it will reopen sometime soon.
It would appear that the museum is now closed for more than just a stocktake. The sign on the front gate reads "Museum Closed until further notice"
I have been advised that the Museaum is closed for stocktake for a couple of weeks... I shall temporarily disable until my spy tells me it is open again!!!
We came by on the evening before but it was closed, it was still closed morning of the 23rd.
Oh well, we can probably guess where it was!
Oh well, we can probably guess where it was!
Well it's not that we didn't find it, more like we couldn't access the site. (c:
Apparently they aren't always open 7 days a week??? When we got there it was closed for stocktaking and no idea of when they were to be open again so we'll go back another day.

Had to grab something by the snout today, so it might as well be this.
After locating the cache I found I didnot have a pen on me so I tried marking the page with red dirt and left a green postit sticker in the log to show I was there.

We didn't feel comfortable going into a military establishment snooping around in search of a cache. I had visions of us being taken in as suspected terrorists in search of a place to locate a bomb. We must have look suspicious looking under equipment in search of a micro. Luckily we found it quickly and got out. We didn't disturb the sleeping volunteer at the museum today.

A cache so close to home - and it took me two weeks to get to it!!! Dragged work colleague along. Had not been to this place before. TFTC Rastas!
I was in Toowoomba today for a hockey carnival and managed to fit in a few local caches.Lucky for me I had to take an injured player to the hospital for an X-Ray so I was able to nab this one TFTC.
First to log, but not first to find. Beaten to that by Da Chef.
Interesting location here - will have to come back for a better look around some day.
Thanks for the cache!
