Logs
Although the cache is dry and all seems good for now, the lid has corroded a bit around the edges, but still shuts tight. After 17 years it is starting to wear, so it might be worth replacing this good sized bucket soon, before the elements take over. By replacing it under the nearby ledge (I don't know why it was left out in the open, when the hint indicates that it should be low) it should stay dry and protected from rain or any bushfires.
Found with the sweetmanda on a day walking through The Dharawal NP. After recently doing the cycle caches from the Appin Rd end, we made plans to do the 4 caches remaining around here for me to find. After finding Weird #2, we followed a more level trail, then took the easier bush bash option to GZ. From about 15m away, I could see the bucket tucked between the forks of a big tree. All was good and dry in there. After signing, I hid it under a nearby ledge out of the elements, and where sweetmanda said he had found it a few years ago.On the way out, we stopped to have a look at the view over the river from the platform. Quite impressive. Now onto the next one. TFTC
After not being able to get the desired cache, this was a nice easy find. Grabbed the TB to keep it moving.
This was my target cache for the day being as our walking group was starting the day at the end of Victoria Road for the walk to O'Hares Creek Lookout.
With everyone chatting it was a very slow walk so I knew I had plenty of time to escape from the group for the short detour to this cache.
Found the first track easy enough and chose what I thought was the second mentioned spot to start my bush bash. Hadn't checked the co-ords for the suggested starting point and obviously was the wrong place as I found a much clearer route on the walk back - as you always do!
The cache was probably the easiest of all my 5478 finds. I'm sure that was not how the CO placed the cache originally. It did not match the hint at all, especially the last word.
Needs a CO check.
Signed the log and replaced as found, as that's the rule "put the cache back where you found it".
I walked back to the group at the lookout - that's a great view!

Parked nearby & had a pleasant walk down. Cache wasn't too difficult to find. TFTC
TFTC! My son and daughter’s first find! There was no sign to the fire trail but it’s on the left just up from O’Hares Lookout.
Found with Calvet2204.
Great spot!
Water affected, cleaned out as best we could. Next finder please bring a rag to wipe out.
We took all the ruined contents out as rubbish.

Out for an Australia Day bushwalk with my muggle parents.
Nice to find this big old cache.

Thanks for the adventure. We saw a red belly on the walk in. We traded an Asian doll key ring and a dinosaur for the green bandana. My sons say it had the best swag ever! TFTC.
Decided to take advantage of a cooler December day to come look for the Bucket of Fun out here in the Dharawal NP. Having done another golden oldie in the park earlier this year, I know how thick the bush can be in here and figured this was the perfect kind of weather to hunt whilst avoiding snakes. So GGCoconut and I made our way along the main track, turned left at Stuckeys and after awhile cut in to begin the bash. It was a bit of a slog and there really didn't seem to be any easy way. Also lots of bull ant nests! Finally, after awhile we came to what we knew must be GZ. Dropping down, it was a quick and easy find - there's really no missing a container of this type! Despite the lid starting to disintegrate a little around the edges, everything inside is dry and in good condition. The contents of these older bush caches always seems to be super random! Annoyingly, somebody had left a lighter at some point - this was swiftly removed (if your a newbie cacher - please don't leave anything flammable in a cache, particularly in a bush setting!). In hindsight, I probably should have removed the tin of spaghetti too... Enjoyed looking back through the original log book also and reading logs from many of the original legends of the game. I realised once I got back home, that I only signed my name and forgot to add GGCoconut's when I was signing the log. Super interesting looking back through some of the photos now also - hard to imagine this area all burnt out, but amazing to see just how well it has regenerated over the years. Anyway, great to tick off another older cache - thanks Tegator!
Awesome early morning adventure and cool hiding spot. We left a cancer council bandanna for someone.
Wow that was an adventure! I’ve never bush bashed before, but had my geo buddy AzzaP87 with me and we had in hand in no time. TFTC!
Find #537 on streak day #178.
Knowing that today was going to be a hot one, an early start for a bushwalk before the sun came out sounded like a good idea. Getting to the carpark only 1 other vehicle was here but no sign of anyone. I headed down the trails and realised I was the first one through today, as webs spanned across the whole track. Luckily I don't mind the spiders and their webs too much. Winding down the main trail, a side trail soon popped up and it wasn't much further. I found a semi decent trail, a bit branchy but easy enough for little me to get though without any scratches and cuts. I soon arrived to gz and my geosenses kicked in. I found this one quickly and completed signing duties after checking out the goodies inside. Now to go back before the sun shows it's face. It's already starting to warm up and the Jingga will have to wait for another day. TFTC!

We went to Minerva Pool and then we went to a lookout before finding this cache. Straightforward find. TFTC
After a visit to Minerva pool and some lookouts we went for this one. Thanx for an easy find.
Lots of people out enjoying the trail today. Fairly lengthy walk, but quick find at the end which was lucky because by this stage it was getting dark. Nice sized bucket. Great one for kids. I wanted to go see the nearby lookout but the rest of the geocrew was whinging about their tired legs and the looming darkness so sadly we headed back without making the extra stop. Hopefully I will be able to come back another day to check it out!
I parked at the end of the road at 7am ready for a big day of caching. I began my walk down the trail to this one. I counted the metres down and turned off the main track and then counted down 100m and turned of the track again. There wasn’t much of track in but the bush wasn’t too thick. The sun was shining and the birds were singing, it was a beautiful morning. It’s always fun reading old logs too, thanks for the cache!
#6726 (1 of 9 today)
Time to head south again for a few quality hides - and some others. Decided I'd start with the higher terrain caches first - being some in Dharawal National Park. Parked just before the locked gate and decided to start with the Victoria Road Trail and then move to the Jinnga Track - man that one is steep!
Once I had the three there I decided that the 10B Management Trail could wait for another day.
Grabbed another in the NP before going for a few more of the Geomuster Lighthouse - only found three with one DNF and collected more info towards the solution to another.
Then two more bush track hides before heading home. Big day, even if not in numbers.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
The "Fun" with this type of hide is working out how to get to GZ. And hoping it isn't too overgrown.
Well I had plenty of fun. The decision to take the hiking pole was vindicated once I left the trail. Found tracks vaguely going in the required direction, and soon had under 10 metres.
Made an assumption as to where it was, and I was quickly proved correct.
Opened the container to find the contents nice and dry.
Completed signing duties and replaced, then looked for another way out. And found a pretty good one.
Well, it's definitely a bucket, and I had fun. Always nice to make a find on a 12 year old cache that does what it says on the box.

Today it's geocaching in the nice and quiet Dharawal National Park. We saw plenty of Gecko.
After been to O’Hares Creek lookout we go straight to GZ. Easy to find this huge container.
Out TB.

By the time I got back to here I was really struggling and probably made everything harder then it was. Found quickly and enjoyed that the cache had just turned 12. tftc tnln.
Found this afternoon with BeetleBro, PugGirl and PugBoy Can't believe this has been here for eleven years! Got to be one of the oldest caches in the area?
Left 1x car wedding ribbon and 1x small mirror. Took nothing.
Thanks for the cache. Peace out

Arrived here to get 10 large caches and early a new badge which was helped by finding one last week.
A rather amazing spot to keep it safe and sound and it was almost a custom fit.
Thanks for keeping this going tegator

Great directions and hint. The cache name is very literal. Like the other cache, the bush around here is very overgrown. TFTC
First geocache. Had no trouble finding it. Left something that I always take with me in the bush and can be handy and comforting at times!
A short but somewhat tricky in parts bush bash to this one - can't believe the amount of work they put into the nearby lookout, I hope it gets the traffic to make it worthwhile. Great view from there.

A bit of a bush bash to this one but it was a good large stash. Glad the NWPS is putting some effort into the area and hope it get lots of visitors.

Exploring some bushwalking in the local area! Hope to get out here more often. Nice view from the balcony close. And grabbed the Wallaby TB, a few days after opening their 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign! Coincidence?
Got to the GZ and looked around and there is was - out in the open and not hidden. Signed the log and left a few small items and then put it back where it should have been. Cache in good condition but needs a new pen - maybe next person could gift one.
Out doing some mountain biking in the area with some friends and saw this cache nearby. A bit of a bush bash to get to GZ but an easy find once there. TFTC!
Was out mountain biking with quarksta and another muggle friend, noticed this cache was close to our route and decided to stop to find it. Was a beautiful warm sunny morning and we bush-bashed a little to get to GZ, I had veered a little off course and was doubling back when quarksta stood at a certain place and declared "I bet it's here" and sure enough when I reached the location it was! SL TFTC tegator!
I was in the area so I went for a nice walk around here. Attended GZ and found the cache. Then what is in here. Oh! I have seen these two TB's before. So they came back to me again. I am going to Melbourne next week so I will drop them off down there some place. That way they hopefully will not find me again. TFTC. Great walk.
Nice area for a gc
However I don't recommend that you look for it at dusk with a phone that is almost out of battery. After an hour bush bashing we found a trail home. Have taken ned and left two travel bugs in his place

2nd time lucky for this one. The first time I didn't have a gps so studied google earth, estimated its location and took a punt. This time I had a gps and ended up on the very same rock! I just didn't know where to look the first time. By name and by nature it was indeed a bucket of fun. (can the next visitor take a replacement ziplock bag for the log; the existing one is falling apart.) TFTC
(I didn't notice Ned Kelly when I was there but then I wasn't really looking as I didn't realise it was there until writing up this log entry. A reward for the next visitor.)

My second only geocache search and I failed! I put it down to my crappy phone which failed miserably in assisting me (and also that since the NPWS have taken over they have resignposted the area). I can see a handheld gps being added to my birthday list. Find or not find, I just love the area. We are so lucky out here to be able to find such beauty and seclusion with just a short drive. Hunter1915
Eventually located this one as my GPS had me some distance away and jumping about all over the place. I enjoyed a great day caching with friends starting with our planed attack on tangles backyard. Stayed around and picked up some of the other nearby caches as we had our pushbikes with us. Thanks Tegator . SLTN..TFTC
On our bikes, the bush at the moment has loads of flowering bottle brushes, gravillias, the smells are a delight, took a while to locate the cache, but eventually found it, this one defiantly won't get muggled. TFTC
As part of the Well Rounded size cache challenge (GC43QPJ) I needed to find a Large cache, so here I looked.
A nice quick find after a really good walk.

Well with the weather on the improve we wanted a little bit of a walk. A scan through what was available turned up an un found cache plus a few other caches on the way
So we headed off to find Fleur Sauvage de Burn Redux, The Bucket of Fun, T N T, and O Hares Creek Vistas
We parked at the suggested gate and headed off down the sealed road until we got to the Way Point for Fleur Sauvage de Burn Redux . We were not sure if the multi would be on the trail of the traditional or not but thought best to grab it just in case. We plugged the numbers in but thought it was in the other direction and then did a double check and found it would be in the general direction we where headed
We did not see and koalas but we did see and hear some big roos hopping around.
We took the side track to The Bucket of Fun and had a light bush bash to GZ where we made a quick find. Always good to make a find of a large cache. Had a laugh of the noise it made and then opened it up. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
T N T was next up the track after we had done the side track to the look out to take in the great views of the river and valley. Once at GZ we made another quick find and had a good laugh at the cache container. With the signing duties completed and the cache replaced we set off again to see if we would be FTF
O Hares Creek Vistas. This is the one that had drawn us to the area. We headed off the track to a rock platform with more great valley views. The GPSr had us in a predictable spot with a choice of levels. After having explored a. number of areas we came up empty handed. We regrouped and confirmed we where in the right area and then looking in a different way made the find. We opened it up and Yeah FTF We signed the log and carefully replaced. TFTC
With the traditionals done we realised the multi (Fleur Sauvage de Burn Redux ), was not too far off and set off again. We arrived at GZ to find a number of potential hiding spots. Our initial look did not turn up anything so we widened the search only to come back to the initial search area where we made a find in a place we had looked already. Nice to find an ammo can in the bush. With the signing duties complete we re hid the cache and made our way back to the car on what was about a 2 hour round trip. TFTC
