On a 2 week family trip going through the simpson desert from south eastern victoria and grabbing some caches on the way .Out plans changed due to the rains so we needed to flip our route and start our desert crossing from dalhousie Springs and finish at birdsville. Now at birdsville we are stuck here due to all roads being closed for now.Anyway TFTC
Great little spot there is no water in this river that glad to be here. It looks amazing and lots of living trees look very happy
Beautiful spot to stop, the creek was pretty full of water after heavy recent rain. Always fun to cross it with the 4WD.Then where is the cache...? We had an interesting walk in the sand 'dunes' hoping there wasn't any quick sand anywhere. Finally Mr. P put his hand on the cache as he was on the right side. Well protected, good job!Thank you for the placement, we had a great time.Greetings - pilot03 #4528
Bit of a walk in the creek bed and soon had this one in hand.Log signed and returned. TFTC Mac & MissusFind 7551 logged from cgeo:
Was a bit worried this cache would have been swept away in the last floods but low and behold it was in great shape and Geodog Rikki and the EvilQueen trudged our way through the deep sand to sign this log. Got in some extra exercise this morning and I know I needed it so the walk was welcome. Dropped a swap and put log in a new plastic bag. TFTC
Found with Sea eagle on our “mini” adventure through the middle of the state. What could go wrong? SpidermonkeysGrandMums health suddenly declined, 3 out of 4 of us had been sick and the backup battery died (who knew there was a public dump at William creek?!.
Overnighted at Port Augusta (just to get out of the house early) , two nights camping at Farina, (frosty!) two camping at coward Springs and then two at William creek (hotel room and a scenic flight)
Last night we camped out at Lake Eyre and today we stopped here for lunch and firewood. Great spot for free camping by the way. Lots of birds too. No water but an impressive waterway all the same. Cache found in great condition after a bit of a careful hike
The skies have been amazing at night and the sunsets fantastic. We haven’t been able to find all the caches en route due to the drivers demands but we selected some old and 360 degree from home special ones. Nothing wrong with leaving a few for “next time” either.
Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

Found with SpidermonkeysMum on our trip along the Old Ghan Railway Heritage Trail from Quorn to Finke, Lamberts Centre then back along the Stuart Highway. Had a great trip, stopping often for caches/coffee/camping. Weather was very sunny during the day, freezing at night but I love a good campfire. Thanks for the reason to stop.
Found on yet another trip without crossing borders. Like many others overseas trips are on hold. Even interstate is hard to plan. So we are taking the time to explore and re-explore our home state of South Australia.
This trip is take 2 as our first attempt was clobbered 2 days in by a sudden lockdown meaning we had to turn back home again. Two weeks later and the geohounds are back at puppy holiday camp. Our plan is Hummocks Station, Willow Waters Gorge (brilliant!), Farina, and then the Oodnadatta Track to Algebuckina Bridge, then through to Eringa Waterhole and then on to Mt Dare. After that the likely path (assuming the NT border is open) is via Finke to Lambert’s Centre of Australia and then we turned back south. We also took a side trip to see Lake Caddibarrawirracanna. We hope to find a few caches along the way and maybe hide a few as well. We are certainly having fun so far.
It is time to go back and actually log on line those caches for which we have only submitted draft logs. As our drafts have hit well over 200 we need to work through them.
While we may no longer remember the specifics of each event we are pretty sure we met and spoke with the usual subjects, and drank coffee, and chatted about geocaching and other stuff. We also quite possibly shared some hints about one or more of our own puzzles as we do get asked about these from time to time
As far as physical caches are concerned we remember all the puzzles, although some are harder than others [;] and mostly the hides.
As far as trads and multis are concerned we most often pick these up while traveling or at least while we are out and about for other reasons. Nearly always a bit of fun and good to break up a long trip.
Brad went for a wander and found this one in the first place checked. Love that

One of many stops on the Oodnadatta Track as we journeyed from Arkaroola to Coober Pedy via Oodnadatta.
This one was a quick drive-by and a chance to stretch the legs, no sign of the goanna.
Found with scouter 101.
Thanks for the stop and the hunt

Four weeks and a day since I heft Adelaide to head north in search of warmer weather and a few caches.
I travelled up the Strzelecki Track then weaved my way around central and western Queensland as far north as Mount Isa. It was getting too warm for me to go any further north, so I crossed into the Northern Territory to Tennant Creek and began to head south. Eventually I ended up at Lamberts Centre and, after having to adjust my plans due to track closures as a result of deep bulldust, I headed to Mount Dare and down the Oodnadatta Track.
I camped by the Neales River last night then continued down the Track this morning, stopping at this cache on the way.
The cache was a nice easy find and was in good condition.
Thanks Mac & Missus for the cache.

Made this place our lunch stop on our trip up the track today. TNLN, but Trecaz Trakkie visited. Thanks Mac & Missus for a find on our Covid escape.
Good spot for a walk off the main track. The nearby Edward Creek rail siding ruin is awesome.

@Davidwazza and I travelled to the Northern Territory from Adelaide for a 2.5 weeks road trip holiday in the infamous black jeep. We took a route through Port Augusta, Woomera, Roxby Downs, Andamooka, and then drove the Oodnadatta Track via Coward Springs, William Creek (including a Lake Eyre scenic flight), Oodnadatta, and Marla. It was then onwards to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuṯa (Olgas), Kings Canyon, and then drove the Red Centre Way aka. Mereenie Loop Road to see the Tjoritja (West MacDonell Ranges), calling in to see the various highlights. We then stayed a few nights in Alice Springs, and included a day trip to see the East MacDonell Ranges, before heading home in a more direct route through Palm Valley, Owen Springs Reserve, Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia, and finally Coober Pedy.
Today, we continued our trip, from Coward springs, along the Oodandatta track. We started early, getting to William Creek for a scenic flight across Lake Eyre. We continued along to our next stop, the Pink Road House in Oodnadatta!

It was then time to turn around to head to South Australia, and in doing so, we visited the Palm Valley, and made the 4WD detour through Owen Springs Reserve (an excellent shortcut that wasn’t too technically difficult), calling into the Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia. Our final stop was Coober Pedy, and we really enjoyed checking out the various dugouts and mines.
Today, we continued our outback trip travelling from Coward Springs along the Oodnadatta Track to Oodnadatta. It was an early morning start as we visited the nearby hidden gravestones, and arrived at William Creek to take a scenic flight across Lake Eyre. Once we participated in that adventure, we also decided to drive the long route to Lake Eyre to feel it with our hands itself, but the army of flies forced us back in the Jeep, and on our way. After all those corrugations, the main Oodnadatta Track felt like a nice freeway as it was a slow journey to our evening stay.
There wasn't anything too interesting about this location, but I guess a chance to break up the journey along this road. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Mac & Missus for placing this cache, and its ongoing maintenance.

Found on a caching trip from SA to Alice Springs. I enjoyed having reasons to stop and take breaks. Caching stops of course! Thanks for placing the cache Mac & Missus. We saw the old cache up the tree with no log, but signed the one with the log lower down.
We are on a camping/4wd trip from Adelaide, slowly caching our way to Alice Springs.
Thanks for placing this cache for us.
We found the original cache. The tree has grown around it.

Found with Zobo04. We are on a little trip from Broken Hill to Cameron Corner to Lyndhurst up the Oodnadatta Track and finally finishing up at Ayres Rock. This is one of the caches we found along the way. Thanks for taking the time to place it. TFTC camped the night not far from GZ.
Tenkae's Outback Adventure Day 17 - took us a little while but finally found it. Tftc

No water here which made for a quick and easy find. Must be a very different place when the river is flowing...

was interesting to walk through the fine pebble sand and log a few caches. I do wonder how high the flow would get in these rivers. thankyou for bringing us here.
Enjoying the drive and the caches, but got a flat tyre here. All part of the fun!
Travelling the Oodnadatta track on this part of my great trip up the middle with a couple of muggle friends.
Just picking up random caches while I can without upsetting them to much.
A quick detour off the track to get to this one.
My friends thought I was crazy heading off in that direction but a cache is a cache.
Thanks Mac & Missus TFTC.

he Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 41. After heading down the Stuart highway I turned off to take the Oodnatdatta track for a few days. I passed Oodnadatta and stopped the night at William creek.
For a spot out in the middle of nowhere, it was nice simple stop here.
Thanks.

Oodnadatta to Coward Springs today. Parked west side and started the walk. Once at the right island, we saw the cache's signpost. Cache in great condition. TFTC.
Off to a late start today after staying at Coward Springs and then checking out the museum there in the morning we were heading for the Painted Desert.
We are really loving the drive along the Oodnadatta Track noticing how much it has changed since our last drive on this section over years ago. We stopped here to grab this cache before turning off to Peake Hill and another excuse to get out and have a look at the country around you. The cache was located right where the GPSr was pointing and the log book now contains our name.
Thanks Mac & Missus for the cache.

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. we were here in 2014 but must not have logged it then. Resigned log.
Our journey today took us from Oodnadatta along the track again, through Arabana Country, taking in the amazing Algebuckina Bridge, Warrina, more Ruins, William Creek and its famous Pub, a Dingo on the way out to Halligan Bay at Lake Eyre, and into Coward Springs. The River bed was dry, but still plenty of water from last nights rain on the track in the low spots. A quick stroll through the sand and the cache was in hand. Thanks to Mac & Missus for the hide.
Heading to the Red Centre Experience Mega Event the back way and caching our way there. Travelling in the company of Skullracing as we will be heading back via the Simpson Desert with them

We went on the Mail Run Tour with Peter Rowe today and had to stop at a nearby cattle station to drop of the mail and pick up our travelling buddies when they landed after a scenic flight over Lake Eyre. After finding a cache at William Creek they were all eager to help us hunt for this one. After reading the cache name Peter was sure it was the old Windmill but nup we had to turn around and head down another track.
The cache was quickly spotted by one of the newbies and soon Mr Sandalwood Cottage was up to mischief retrieving it but was advised to move something so it did not fall and low and behold TA DA!!!!!! Now that was a bit cheeky.

I found Ted's place on me slow drive north today
I thought the creaking might relate to the noises big lumps of riveted steel make as they warm up and cool down during the day
And so expected to head for the railway bridge or water tower that I could see as I approached
Nup !!
Somebody can't spell !!
I parked the geomobile down the track guarded by the truck.
And went a wandering through the shifing sands of Ted's life.
By the time I got to GZ,
Ted had filled me boots with his stories
The cache was a nice easy find
Nicely weighted down to stop it floating away too [^]

Would be very interested in the D/T should there be water. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
I am so enjoying this "Track". Thanks for making it more worthwile with the caches you have placed. Thanks for bringing us here also.
Didn’t quite get the relevance of the name of this cache. Was expecting the find something creaky? Chikin Little and Mrs EMC headed down the sandy track in the midday sun to get this cache. It seemed like a long slog in the burning heat with each step sinking into the sand. Saw a dead pee wee with its head off…ew……. eatmorchikin from Brisbane heading to Alice for the Easter caching event
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 11:00am. What a magnificent spot. We stopped for a coffee break. It was a short walk through the sand. TFTC
Thank you to Mac & Missus for placing this cache. It was just a short walk from the track to make this very quick and easy find. The log was signed and all was replaced as found.
What a nice spot to take a short break and a walk. Not where we thought it would be, but all for the better.
This would be beautiful with after running through it. Although harder to get to the cache. TFTC
Heading south now after 12 days in the bush and loving most of it, cache was safe and dry, all good here, tftc
Found on our way to Dalhousie Springs for the week. Running behind schedule we were on the lookout for a campsite late in the day, and after reading Freddo's log below we knew this just had to be the spot. Sure enough it was perfect! Thanks for the cache Mac & Missus!
We drove along the track to nearly GZ. Parked the motorhome and walked the last meters to GZ to find the cache. When we returned to our motorhome the was an invasion of inquisitive cows admiring our motorhome so we had a cuppa amongst the cows before we left. TFTC Mac & Missus.
A quick drive off from group while they checked out the Ruins. Cheers for the hide down here.
Didn't see any goanna's here today, but there were campers using the creekbed on the other side of the track .
Have to wonder if the cache ever ends up under water here [?] - amazing how some of these places see such big waters . TNLNSL.
Thanks Mac & Missus.

A short diversion off the Oodnadatta Track (highway?) to find a rock in a tree .
Whilst I’d love to see this in full flood, I’m grateful that it’s not. The debris level in the trees hints at some awesome power.

This was the 15th find of a total of 49 caches found by Boxer and 5 Vietnam veterans club member mates, on a 10 day trip up to Marree, then onto Mt Dare, across the Simpson desert to Birdsville, then back down to Marree, then home to Kadina. A very interesting and at times very challenging trip. Stopping to find caches helped break up the trip and get out and stretch the legs. Thanks for the cache hide.
Thank M&M for this neat cache.
We were heading towards the Flinders Ranges after travelling from Mt Dare.
Many thanks for the cache.

Many thanks for the cache.
We ventured further north from Port Augusta, for supplies before heading home via Marree, Oodnadatta, Coober Pedy, Mt Dare, and the Simpson Desert, after attending Oz Mega 2014.
We stayed at Coober Pedy last night, in an underground motel unit.
We backtracked from Coober Pedy to William Creek, so we could continue up the Oodnadatta Track.
This one is lucky, very lucky. Floodwaters have come very close to the cache, possibly covering it. Fortunately, it has stayed in place, due to the weight holding it down. Debris is caught all around in the trees.
All is good with the cache.
Cheers
