I stopped in to check this one on my way through Kaeo, it is indeed missing. Archiving to make room in this area for someone else (or a future idea from me).

Finishing the day on 2 DNFs!

10-Aug-20
Nice view of little township

18-Jul-20
Away in the camper for a couple of weeks roaming around Northland doing TMGT's and anything else. Second DNF here in Kaeo. No luck here for us today and the cows were grumbling the whole time. The local dog was friendly though.

Good find, figured out what oleander is, log and inside bottle is damp, needs evaporating or bandana drying, signed ok. sunny day. Buying a boat tomorrow, booyah. Satisfying finding a cache, sets up my whole day. Off to Dargaville (need a cache at Twin Bridges, yes?).

24-Jul-19
Wow, some interesting history here and a fabulous monument.
Thanks for bringing me here.

On a bit of a road trip this weekend to try and make some good progress on the new Mystery at the Museum souvenir challenge. I have very few unfound caches anywhere near home base, so these challenges are a good excuse to head off on a mission and potentially visit some new places.

This was certainly another place I had never been before. Once near GZ, the cache was soon located in the hint location.. Pleased to also find a "gemstone" here amongst the resting for the challenge. TFTC

#10871. Kaeo seems to be a town of two halves: the SH10 half and the hillside half. Cache was in a nice spot. TFTC.

15-Jan-16
Came to have a look at this historic site on our tour around Northland, and lo and behold there was a cache there! A quick find - signed log, TFTC!

15-Jan-16
After spending a couple of nights in Algies Bay, we are now heading for Northland where we will be spending the next phase of our North Island tour. Just our second visit to the area, the first was during the week before the Auckland Mega, when we travelled as far north as Keri Keri, so we are looking forward to exploring more of the region.
We hadn't seen the cairn from the main road, even though it is an impressive size. A very historic site indeed. StreetWalker took photographs while I found the cache - it was an easy find too. I like the white flowers, much nicer than the usual pink. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.

On a mission this weekend with Cats&Dragons, with a the main goals of reaching Cape Reinga to find the Virtual caches up there and the 35 and 36 degree South challenges, plus with anything else in between. We had a great time touring around Northland, and it is a pretty spectacular place. Being from Southern Northland, it has reminded me that I need to visit this place more.

The initial plan was to head up the west coast and on to Ninety Mile Beach (which was a huge highlight of the trip) and then down the east coast, but the plan was flexible depending on progress. We mostly achieved our ambitious plan, but due to time restraints had to cut back a bit from the planned list. If we had another day I think we would of achieved most of what we had planned.

Some of the figures for the trip were, 1600km's travelled in a 48 hour period, 37 hours of caching, 4 hours of sleep, and 7 hours driving up from Hamilton and back, with a total of 176 caches found!!

Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and showing us around Northland.

Cache was sticking out of it's hiding location so we spotted it from the car. Signed log and replaced slightly better.

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.

The result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. Thanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.

Now its fully dark time so will be interesting to see how long we last as the previous night we only got 1.5hours sleep

Thanks for the placement

Oh, so that's what an Oleander is Smile
