14-Oct-24
Another journey to collect some oldies. ARF was kind enough to join me despite having found them already. Luckily we grabbed a trad in Samford, some ad labs and back up BB reserve at the end to grab one we had not previously solved. His solving brilliance again. This sated his needs geocaching for the day. Most were quick finds but a bit of hiking was required in drizzly rain. Thanks to all COs especially the original and adopted owners of good olds!

After an impromptu decision to run out and grab some caches, I stopped by this one on my way out to Ferny Grove.Im now making my way home in a roundabout direction stopping and grabbing more caches along the way.Venture to this one, maybe climb from an appropriate starting point on approach I spotted what I was looking for and soon had my name ending rather damp. I was meeting friends for lunch at Keperra, so decided to do some geocaching beforehand. I found a few caches near the Lomandra parking area off the Samford Road and had enough time for one more cache. This one had been a DNF for me a couple of years ago when it was missing. Ive been wanting to get back here, so I parked nearby and walked to gz where the cache was soon found. The logbook is wet but I was able to sign it. Its been a fun series. Now to find the final. Tftc

Planned a georide from Ferny Hills through Samford conservation park, along Samford rail trail, up and over Camp Mountain, down to Bellbird grove and back through upper kedron. Lots of pushing geobike up hills but had a great time. TFTC

Today with another day in COVID-19 lockdown, I decided to use my home distance limitation and opportunity for fitness to complete the infamous *X* by MTB. I got going early departing from Enoggera Reservoir, and made the ride accordingly. It was a long day out, but given a few mechanical issues, I needed to move and redeploy my vehicle, which perhaps facilitated my loop ride. The ride was extended by performing additional detours and extensions whilst passing by nearby geocaches, and so in the end, it was a long day to be on the saddle!

This was my final geocache find for the day, and it took a few minutes in wandering around the place at GZ, before eventually grabbing the find. At least I was more confident about this geocache's coordinates given the previous visit by other Geocachers. A rather creative cache, and it looks like the perfect position for an ambush through this cutting! The cache container and logbook were in good shape, but I couldn't find the clue for this *Bushranger* series, so I may need some help at a subsequent date (logbook may need updating?). Thanks K8'n'Co. for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Lovely day with Team Domsky and smallwombat walking in the bush when we stumbled on this old cache. We spent quite sometime here, extended our search area, called for help and almost quit when I spotted something out of place.

Thanks for the cache and taking us here K8'n'Co. A very well thought of cache, will have to complete the series.

18-Jul-21
This cache gave us the most grief on our epic oldschool assault of samford and surrounds.
Noting the dnf's, we thought we'd give it a red hot go anyway seeing as we were in the area.
So the four of us zoomed in up the hill into the scrub to gz and then in an ever widening circle around abouts. A good long while later,..
E_smiley finally found part of the gig a good twenty odd metres away as if semi discarded, so we rigged up some "bullets" and rehid I dare say where it should be.
I reckon when you get some free time, to come have a look at this one, as it's certainly not as it was originally intended, though it is there and ready to be found.
Thank you k8nco for the cache!

18-Jul-21
Like previous people who have searched here, we really thought that the bushrangers had done a clean sweep and a total ambush here.
We made a short steep climb to GZ, and with four sets of eyes decided to spend some time searching around here. After 20 minutes, and with ever widening search circles, we were close to calling it quits, when E_Smiley spotted something that the bush rangers had left behind!
Yep, we found something ( photo attached… and don’t mess with E_Smiley). In fact we found it. There is no logbook inside, and so we have added a new bison and log sheet inside.
We found this to be a good 20 m away from its original GZ, so we have replaced it back to where we believe it should be. It is definitely there (albeit a little worse for wear and time).
Thanks K8’n’ Co
A FP added family the adventure and hide.

Happy Fathers Day. We arrived at the Lanita Court Entrance just in time for a large rain storm to come over us. Not wanting to abandon our plans for a walk and some finds we decided to head back to Samford for a coffee and to ride out the rain. Didnt have to wait long and we were back were we started and ready to search. A quick climb up the hill and we spotted something that looked a bit suspicious. It appears as though the chasing troops may have hidden the decoy to avoid further embarrassment. Log signed and replaced as found. GPS was out for us under the tree cover but we used our geosenses to locate the hide. Looking forward to doing the rest of the series. Thanks for the effort to create this special hide. Favourite point for the photo opportunity with Dans belongings.

Tftc was a great find too a few muggles on there first find and it was great for their first one

17-May-20
Ninth cache of the day, found with a great mob while doing "X". The weather was stunning, and I think we all enjoyed the ride (though there was far more walking than riding!). Arriving near GZ, it was only a short but steep walk, and a very clever and well themed cache was soon uncovered. Very clever, very creative, as usual! Clue noted, we quickly packed up and made our way back to the bikes. Energy was fading at this point and I think we were all thankful for the flat and smooth bikepath.

Thanks for the company TeamTyrrell, Chamad, GeoRode, OrangeCrew, P’ and Ruzzelz.

Onwards and upwards to the next cache.

TFTC and TB visits.

17-May-20
A great cache and "prop" was found soon found after the steep walk up the bank.

Managed to pick up this one whilst out hunting down "X" with a great mob of Cachers.

Thanks to Chamad, OBC, Georode, Ruzzelz, Orange crew and PPrime.

Cheers for the placement and upkeep of this cache.

Decided to try the Bushranger series today after a failed start a few years ago. Decided to attempt to find in order. Having read the weekly punctilio, we set off on the rail trail, along with many walkers and bikers out after weeks of COVID isolation. Glorious day, and after a little off track searching, we spotted some clues as to the possible exit route taken by Lightning Dan.
Log book signed and first clue noted. Favourite point awarded. TFTC

20-Apr-20
Another find today whilst out and about exercising and caching, really like the story and twist with one, worth a favourite point and TFTCT from the inspectorrexteam.

16-Apr-20
Out this morning getting some target caches and enjoying the piece and quiet of the early morning start.

This one has been on my to do list for some time and today was my chance to grab this and a few others in the area.

Such a nice area I never knew this area was here. The more I read up on the train line that went thru here the more interesting the area is.

The bushranger series is one I have been working on very slowly. Having completed a few already it was time to nab this one, a perfect opportunity. With just one more to get the series will be done. So it’s onto the next.

Thanks for bringing me here the interesting cache and the great views along the way

What to do when you win 2 free scoops of gelato in a cafe 45 km away from home ? Take the geohounds on a caching walk to earn it of course, and this was one of our lucky finds in this forest

Thanks K8'n'Co

23-Dec-18
After a couple of weeks stuck indoors with too little exercising, and too much peoplising, I needed to address both issues. This afternoon I hiked nearly 10kms, enjoying the light breeze and lovely trees. And not interacting with a single of them humans. Plenty of birds, an owl even, a few lizards and skinks, one bored wallaby and snake.

With the first half of my hike done I headed out this way and nabbed this one along the way, righting a long left DNF here. Another step closer to capturing this now elderly and frail bushranger.

Thanks K8'n'Co. for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #6312}* Cool

Monday. Yet another K8’n8Co cache that we haven’t found – so we were in the area today and thought we couldn’t let this one get past us (at least we confident there weren’t going to be any bee hives around as in this last cache we tried to find!) Big Grin We spotted a dead giveaway as to the location of the cache as we came up to GZ and a quick look soon had the cache container in hand. Clue noted and log signed, cache replaced and we were on our way again to the next cache. Nice quick find on this one Smile

This was the 6th of 12 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***K8'n'Co.***, for showing us this place. Smile

I was out for a MTB ride with Ruzzelz this morning and found ourselves nearby. I left the track and headed bush while Ruzzelz waited with the bikes. Unfortunately, just as I got near GZ, my GPSr had a moment. A bit of looking around though and I spotted what could only be the cache. I recorded the clue and headed back down to join Ruzzelz on the, lamentably, bitumen trail.

Find #2047 at 15:09 while on a walk with the family (who waited on the trail below, and missed out on the smiley this time Twisted

Looks like Lightning Dan had shot through moments before our arrival (we probably scared him off), but in his hurry he left some clues, we're now on his trail.

Thanks for the cache (and the series), K8'n'Co. Looking forward to working our way through this series at looong last....

Bristracker and I had a long very hot day of geocaching between the CITO and bookend events. With a large number of solved puzzles on the list we tackled a few in the area. This was the final piece in the puzzle I needed to get the Bushranger #1 cache. I loved this cache, so cool!!! TFTC
