Out for a walk this morning with Hawko2017, we thought we’d give this a look despite the dnfs.
Unfortunately we’ll have to add to them.
15mins or so scrambling all around the GZ, to no avail.
With the mounting DNF’s I would strongly encourage the CO to check in on this one.

#1710. (Catching up on some logging 6 weeks after the find) Doing the Spit to manly walk and picking up a few caches along the way. Visited TB I met signal and Divine’sArt project TBs. Took a bit of clambering to get to this one but a favourable branch assisted me in the process. Searched for a couple of mins before I found the cache. Log was a little damp and mouldy but was still signable. TNLNSL. TFTC manlyboys. Now to get back up to the track.....
Found yesterday, sorry for the late log. This cache hadn’t been found since August, but I checked it out any way, I think the terrain rating should be a little bit higher because I completely underestimated where it would be. It was well hidden in an area I didn’t expect and I enjoyed the small climb, unfortunately the log was wet so I couldn’t sign( picture for evidence). Anyway TFTC!
On Sunday with friends and family. Almost gave up as it's difficult to get kids down there, but my daughter showed her enthusiasm.
Not the easiest access to the cache but in such a gorgeous day I could not leave with a blue face
Searched quite a while and followed the geo trail. But could not find this one.
We probably were over thinking this one at the beginning. We looked high and low till eventually Anominous Sign followed the geo trail to the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Almost didn't find this one today. We spent quite a while searching on the wrong level. I decided to try looking a bit further down before giving up and what have we here! TFTC!
Yippee another missing month found. This one took longer than it should have. I look in all the places I would have hid it then I stopped stressing and followed the geo trail straight to the cache. As previous finders have note the log is very wet but I was able to make my mark. Thanks for the placement Cheers
TFTC from the Kayakviking!
Cache is safe and well in its troll like home. Log definitely damp but I could write. Lid won't shut tightly.

Went all the way down. After a good 10 mins I gave up and spent another 10 climbing back up ... silly me. Hopefully its still there and I just failed.
Two out of two! Great hiding spot but the box doesn't close, log book is damp, pens don't work.
Managed to get down to the lower level OK, but things there were a mess, and after a few attempts at scrambling to the base of the rock, I decided to call it quits. Pity we couldn't score this -- would have been a nice one to log!
Mmmm. Perhaps this was a cache too far and perhaps not wise to tackle on your own. We cheated insomuch as we were not walking the Manly-Spit scenic walk, but drove to Tania Park to watch the start of the Sydney Hobart yacht race. Picnic then ensued and the obligatory family game of Finska. Judging the right to me to retire (whilst he was ahead) Mr FT walked the quarter of a mile along the scenic walk to the cache area. It was there that senses departed and foolhardiness ensued. I was pretty sure I could get down the rock face in one piece (there was a handy tree to assist the descent), but getting back up would be another matter. Suffice to say I got there and back (just). As the previous loggers have said cache in sorry state with the log too wet and fragile to sign.
Great hide!! Took a bit of effort to get to GZ and back out again but enjoyed the challenge.
TFTC!!
TFTC!!
Cache lid no longer closes properly and log is very damp, almost unuseable. Luckily had my own pen as those in cache didn't work.
Very much in need of maintenance.

A cloudy day perfect for geocaching along the Manly to Spit scenic walkway.
It took a while to find it. An old photo helped us !

Didn't try to get to this one from the Walk as the approach looked too risky for any but the most agile.
Found thanks as all the Oxfam 100k walkers limped by - GeoDad was sent down - log too wet to sign
Out today with Brewmaker, EverestHigh and MaxAdventurer finding a variety of caches around Clontarf, Balgowlah and Manly. It was a perfect day in winter and some of the views in the National Park and across the Harbour were spectacular.
We parked the car and then had a nice walk through the National Park on the way to the cache. It was Brewmaker who found the cache after a scramble. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Then onto the next one. TFTC

On a day OCW GeodudeAU, Everest High and Max Adventurer over the north side of the Spit Bridge. After a chilly start to the day, we soon had unseasonally warm Winter's weather and we had a fantastic time exploring the area around Clontarf, Balgowlah, North Head and Manly. All up we had 16 finds and no DNFs - despite a couple of close calls. The views near most caches were spectacular. Thanks to the many COs who went to the trouble of placing these great hides.
Parked as close as possible then followed the track. Wow! What beautiful views over the harbour from here. At GZ, I scrambled down to a lower level then spotted a SPOR. The logbook is quite damp as the lid is cracked. Replaced further at the back of the hidey hole and a bit more protected with some natural camo. But needs some TLC badly! TFTC.

Was not sure if I should give this one a try... it seemed to be quite tough for a T2,5. Going down would not be a problem, but would I be able to get back up? Alas I tried. Once down I found the container quicker than anticipated, but getting back onto track proved as difficult as I had feared. But somehow I managed to scramble back up. Definately not easy for short ones like me
Thanks a lot for the hide, manlyboys!

Found during our Spit to Manly walk today. Great view from here! Ina stayed near the path while I made the descent. It looked rather severe but was actually quite manageable. Pity about all the rubbish that is being thrown down from above...
Log book is wet and the box does not close very well.

On the Scenic walk with our friend, but Mrs RG and our pal walked on whilst I descended for this cache. The scramble down wasn't too bad but I made a meal of searching initially - turns out I needed to head just a little bit lower still. Once at the right place I found the cache. Signed the log as best I could - the log was damp and the cache no longer clips shut properly. Replaced it as found. Now - how do I get back up? Tftc
Quick find. Log wet. Wasn't sure how I would get down to it but was easier than it looks. Had a beautiful day walking from the Spit bridge to manly. Tftc
A great walk from Spit bridge to Manly with a few caches along the way. a tricky little descend for this one only to find it in a very cuddly spot.

A cheeky little hide, thanks to the hint
Log soaked - sorry, didn't have any spare paper

We had no luck here today. Just as we started searching gaggle of muggles appeared right above us which put us off an extensive search....... Maybe next time.
Kinda awkward when I was sitting there signing the log and other random people came down.
All logs wet. Difficult to climb back to the track. Would recommend moving higher.
Found it on a walk showing our family friend the area. Fun little adventure to get to the cache. Thank you!
All I can say is thanks for that branch as without it I think I would still be down there waiting fir my legs to grow longer.

After completing the nearby Monty Python wherigo, we came to clear out some traditionals along the Spit to Manly walk. Parked on Dobroyd Scenic drive and made our way along the track to GZ. Some nice views to be had on the way. Unfortunately, some idiots have left a lot of rubbish around which really detracts from the beautiful bush setting. Cache was quickly found. SL and couldn't wait to get out of there.

This one was pretty nice and adventurous, but I must say it was a bit of an anti-climax getting such an easy find at the bottom, not to mention it being wet. tftc!

Kokoda training walk - Spit to Manly. First time geocaching for Ulmy1 and some other friends - more people un-mugglified!
----------
Managed the slippery decent into a shaded and damp world beneath the trees. The cache location is very obvious once at the GZ, but the location is not so good [for a cache] as it is constantly wet. Logbook is very wet, but just managed to sign. I also noticed the previous finder's attempts to dry this one out, and have left the lid off too (probably won't do much though). The rubbish at he GZ is a bit of a mystery - it's pretty remote and hard to get to... A new log is required. Tftc

A little bit tough to get to in the wet, but after a couple of slips we got there with only a couple of falls
A very slippery ride to get to GZ but made it. Paths were very wet and had to avoid big puddles. Log was too wet to sign and needs urgent replacement! Bring a rubbish bag next time to pick up all of the rubbish nearby GZ. Great views! TFTC!!!
Beautiful day out with Geowife and Geobaby for our first time on Spit to Manly walk. Found this cache no problem, however a couple decided to set up for lunch right above me, no choice but to walk out right on past. Surprise and confused they just looked at me in silence as I stepped over their legs, smiled and carried on to find the family. Had no pen today due to a mixup with baby bag and geotools this morning, but this one is completely soaked through. I guess CO is out of range so maybe a new container and log could be donated by a future cacher. Attached a pic. Lovely location. TFTC
Took little travel bug on a visit, Was a trek, but once we worked it out surprisingly easy bright orange sunset as well.
Thanks! Great spot. Didn't have to get too scratched up in the bush looking for it
Is there a safe path to that cache? Either I really wasn't looking in the right spot or the access is a lot more than a 2.5 star.
Quick easy find, but this is my second time finding it! As others mention, the log book is wet.
I was giving our Japanese guests a bit of a tour around the Northern Beaches today and this included a stop at Tania Park. We marveled at a guy who appeared to be flying inside a windsock.
Then I wanted to introduce them to caching so took them down what resembled a jungle path from the lookout as there was lots of rain this morning and it was hot and humid this afternoon.
At GZ we bumped into a Thai photographer. I left my guests up on the rock with her and went down to make a quick find. Hard to believe I didn't find it last time. I hopped back up to show them the cache. There was no point signing and the logbook is mush.
A great spot - TFTC ManlyBoys

working down this way and thought I would drop in and find this rather damp cache. dried it for a little bit while I caught up on the days emails. TFTC TNLN.
Found it in wet conditions. Cache needs new log book and new container. Soaked. 1st geocache for my 2 kids
After my planned canyon trip up at Newnes was cancelled due the rain, one of my mates suggested the Spit to Manly walk instead. As I haven't done the walk before (and there were plenty of caches I hadn't found there) I was keen to come along. I was lucky that with the big gap between fitness level, age and injuries I had a few moments to duck off the track and grab a few caches along the way while waiting for the slow ones to catch up.
When the slowest and injured one of our party fell way behind, I realised that I had walked past this one, so turned around with the intension of finding our fallen soldier, and grabbing the cache while I was at it. He found a nice bit of rock to rest his foot on while I did the fun bit of scrambling about to find the cache. While the GPS signal was poor below the rocky ledge I found the cache in no time.
The bad news is that water had gotten into the container and the log book is really wet and slimy to the touch. I managed to scribe my name in an empty spot.
Thanks for the cache.

Looked around for 10 minutes - it is the sort of place I'd come back to happily.
Lovely Sunday morning
Climbed down
Did not find it
Base is very wide

Good cache, great view. There is a big drop from the rocks so don't jump down use the path
#335 found with alnic39 on a day caching around Manly / North Head took a while to get to the correct level found just before we gave up. TFTC
That was harder than it should have been. Got pretty scratched up, but worthwhile in the end.
Hmmm...logging this DNF maybe I went a different way than everyone else, but it was very difficult and all I found was trash.
The container can't be closed properly anymore. That's why the logbook is already wet. Please maintain if possible.
Another one in our Manly Scenic Walk hike. We thought its to high to go down and it is quit hard and slippery! But then it was a quick find.
It's sad how much trash is down there...

Found after working in the area. I was looking for a cache to plug a hole in the calender and realised that this was previously a DNF way back in Feb 2009 (due to track work). No problem this time and I did bush bashed a little to get to GZ. Grand day for views out the heads. Many thanks manlyboys
