Tiz13 gets nervous around heights and GZ made Tiz13 nervous I almost gave up on the search but went back to the hint...and spied a bit of the cache from different approach. Awesome views
Another day, more Goo. I've lost count on how many times I've been here, but all I'll say is that this is certainly not the last (however, the caches are not infinite like I originally assumed). Had a couple goals in mind but upon the first two DNFs I said F*** it, and decided to ride up Old Joe because why not. My legs certainly weren't that happy about that choice though. A pleasant 14km bike ride with 584m of elevation gain grabbing 19 caches. About twenty less than previous runs but that's because the number of remaining caches are dwindling. TFTC to all cache owners (which is basically exclusively DSD and ZQX). A lot of puzzles picked up today, so I'll leave a description of both the hide and the puzzle below.THE CACHE:Not a puzzle! It's impossible! A lovely spot to sit and admire the view. A favourite!
On the hunt for the last cache to fill a hole in my DT grid and it brought me out to this vicinity. Since I was going to be nearby, I thought….why not. Let’s give this one a crack. Started out pretty early and it was super foggy today. I had done a bit of a reccy first so had the gate locations sorted out and headed towards the first one. As I was making my way to the next waypoint, I started to realise just how high and steep the last part of this walk was going to be. I’m glad it’s cool that’s for sure. Last 250 metres was definitely a slog but I persevered and the view from the top was totally worth it! What a super spot! Spent a bit of time up here admiring the view over the foggy city and then remembered that I had a cache to find. Headed to GZ and made a quick find. Fave point coming your way! Thanks for bringing me up here mungoman and TFTC!
Here as part of a group, This was one of the caches that we did today. Many thanks mungoman.
Found at 3:24 PM GAFF5 in the company of the Vic 1 team
Gosh that was a strenuous walk for the last 300 metres - lots of stops and rests to look at the wonderful scenery that's for sure

Found by Mary and David at 15:30. Our first afternoon in the ACT area for a five day visit. We spent the afternoon in the Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve targeting 8 caches along a 6km return walk that was hard going at times. This was our sixth stop, and by far the most difficult to reach (at least approaching the way we did from our previous find). Quite some time between when the first one reached GZ and the stragglers arrived. Retrieved " Panthera Tigris" Trackable. Our thanks to mungoman.
pprass was the monkey today. It was a tricky climb.
On a walking mission today with pprass, maccamob, Alansee, Moonb1 and micaparamedic, we signed the logs Vic1+pprass.
Thanks for placing the cache mungoman.

A bit of a windy day to be caching in such an exposed spot but found it after a few wrong guesses TFTC!
#2195 I had eyed this cache off some time ago but still needed to work out how to actually get here. This afternoon I took it on and came up trumps. What an adventure. So far into the reserve so late in the afternoon meant I made it back to the Geo-vehicle in the dark, with a number of wildlife greeting me along the way. Thanks mungoman for bringing me here. The view was worth the trek!
TFTC. Trackable owner has wanted me to drop their TB off. Trouble is most of the caches we visit are micros, and some smalls and regulars have still been too small or not the right shape. Anyway, now it's time for another cacher to take it on some journeys.

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to mungoman for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

Definitely a lot of clefts and a lot of rubble, searched a few and before we know it cache was in hand. The day was absolutely beautiful but it was very very windy out there so we didn’t stay around to soak up the views for as long as I would have liked to.
Nevertheless, glad we came down this side of the hill for the cache as we had originally only intended to get to the trig.

This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.
Today, we had planned and completed two half-day hikes. Our morning was spent at Goorooyarroo Reserve walking 17.3 km the hilly terrain. After lunch, we headed to Kowen Reserve targeting the CBR Wherigo geoart series, and walked a further 8.3 km up and down some further questionable terrain, before the heavens opened up and the rain fell. We finished the day with a pizza and beer at a Watson meet and greet event where we had a chance to see the locals.
We found this geocache whilst walking through Goorooyarroo Reserve, and stopped on this hill to enjoy the views of hills and surrounds around. With the abundance of various hiding spots, it took a few minutes for us to make the find here. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks mungoman for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Day 1 of our Geocaching Hiking weekend with Davidwazza and gridge98 in Canberra. The 17.3km / 6 hour loop took us up to a few different hills of the Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve with great caching rewards on the way.

This morning walk around the park we had all of these puzzles solved plus a few trads we found along the way, a great walk and all caches found were in good condition
This weekend I headed to Canberra with Davidwazza and Georode after being asked a month or so ago if I would like to join them for 4 days, planning occurred and a list of 110 targets were chosen consisting of DTs, oldies and special cache types.
Day 1, I arrived in the evening and headed out with David Wazza for a few hours before georodes arrival, we headed to capital hill to find some random caches in the freezing cold.
Day 2, we set off early in the morning for a half day hike around Goorooyarro Park collecting all the puzzles and a few trads in the area, after lunch we had walked 17km for the morning, off we headed to kowen forest for some of the CBR wherigos, half way around it started to pour so called it early and thought doing the drive bys in the series would be a much better idea, in the evening we went to an event and was great to meet a few locals.
Day 3, we set off before the sun had risen for the main target of the day, the UFO series, with so many in the series we focused on the ones along the fire trail and a few in the paddocks, despite being buggered we walked another 18km for the day, in the afternoon we targeted some of our target list in the southern area
Day 4, after a morning CITO we headed back to Goorooyarra Park to complete the remaining caches in the area and finish the L and P plate series, another walk completed over 15km for the trip, in the afternoon we drove around the northern suburbs collecting caches off our target list
Day 5, after dropping georode off at the airport, davidwazza and I headed to Yass for the birds of Australia series and a few of the challenges in the area, after completing the caches we headed back to Canberra past a few caches before attacking the entire UGC series, being tight for time the trip wouldn’t have been complete without going to the Canberra nature park to collect the oldest caches
Total of 356 caches plus a few labs along the way,
Thanks for the caches and their placements

A return visit to the 'Roo to collect the caches on the other side of the Geocacher-proof fence, which are now a bit more of a walk than they used to be! Fantastic day for a ramble in the reserve, had my reptile-dissuading boots & gaiters on as the grass and Paterson's Curse is about 1m high along most of this off-track walk.
I parked at the usual spot off Horse Park Drive and entered through the gate in the maximum-security fence, then exited through the next gate shortly after and spent most of the day off-track. I walked pretty much straight up the hill to this cache from Hunting Treasure - although steep it only took me 20 minutes bottom (well, from the last cache) to top.
The cache is in good, dry condition. Fantastic to walk up here without seeing other people; great views. Now to find my way back down...
Thanks mungoman.

Gorjuz views. Found this cache today with a group of Canberrans :> We signed the logs as Capital Cachers or CC. It was a good day and even though we didn't pickup all of the ones we had previously identified as wanting to get, we did pick up some others so most people were still happy with the find count. Done and done. TFTC.
Most magnificent view. But I thought I was going to keel over from the climb.
Out and about with Capital Crunchers on a pretty chilly day. But at least it stopped raining.. TFTC mungoman

Out caching with a great group of friends. We have a plan to conquer many of the caches in Goorooyarroo . The rain has gone but it is a wicked wind. Thanks for your company Capital Crunchers and thanks to the COs.
Early morning maintenance visit, lovely clear day although strong winds on top.
Returned cache to its correct location - thanks to rorybum for the tip-off.
Added 2x2 Rubick Cube plus dog figure and took pine cone.
Realised that the walk description needs an update since the cache is slightly outside the Goorooyaroo reserve and its fence. Track details will also need an update.
Would be grateful if next visitor could bring a either a pencil sharpener or a replacement pencil/pen.

How funny, the first time I looked for this cache it took me forever onceI was close to it. It was going dark it was cold and there was ice on some of the rocks and it took me forever. And the spoiler photo.
This evening I just came up for a bit of a leg stretch sat at the top and I wondered where the key was turned around and I was sitting nearly on top of it
A great place for the sunset

Some amazing views and great walk to this cache. Cache itself is easy to find, once at Old Joe Trig. Thanks!
Out with Purplepeopleater on what we thought was a short morning walk to finish a few caches on our way home from the Mega. Well, the legs are aching but the views were wonderful. Thanks mungoman.
Climbed Old Joe with Baktrak on our way to some puzzles out in the far reaches of the Goo. Could not go past this one given the effort to get here. Fabulous views!

Evidently I walked right past this cache a couple of days ago when visiting Old Joe Galleher TRIG but I only note its existence now that I'm home catching up on logs. That will teach me for not looking around a bit more when on site!!

We do so love a Challenge cache, and so even before we arrived in Australia we had been looking forward to coming to find the Challenge caches in this area, and so this afternoon we hiked along another section of the Centenary Trail, caching our way towards our main targets. Once we had found the two furthest away Challenge caches (this being one of them) we set off towards the Trig Point with the idea of hiking a geocaching circuit. It would have been a good plan but we were thwarted by a very tall electric ️ fence (the other fences we climbed over), where at one point the only way through to the side we needed to be on was by crawling under the fence via a gated culvert. Due to the electric fence we had to skip a couple of the caches we had hoped to find on the way back down, but at least we did find a way in to access the last of the four Challenge caches of the area. All in all it was a very successful afternoons hike, albeit definitely made harder than expected due to the anti-geocaching fence! We enjoyed the hike to this cache which was located soon enough once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point for the placing and the fantastic viewpoint the cache took us to. Greetings from Zimbabwe

In Canberra for a few days to find some much sought after caches in the lead up to the Clear Waters Mega event, and today I headed towards Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve.
Ever since I lived in Canberra 8 years ago, I have been meaning to get up here and visit Old Joe, so today, I jumped at the chance to go for a walk and finally tick it off the list. The views up here were perfect, and the cache was found in a great spot.

JohnnyBoyACT and I went in search of geocaches in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve today. The skies were clear and sunny, the wind gentle and the company good, which is just as well for the predator-proof fence currently under construction is starting to resemble a geocacher-proof fence and added some kilometres to the day. In the end, footsore and muscle weary, I had added 34 caches to my tally. This cache was a straightforward find. Thank you mungoman for installing and maintaining this cache.
Note for subsequent visitors: You can no longer approach this cache directly up the hill. We used the gate in the predator-proof fence at S35 11.211 E149 11.708.

An excellent day's caching led by Kambahkid. 15 the total for me, as I'd done a few before. Agree with his comments about the geocacher-proof fence. I'm trying to obtain a gpx file of the perimeter and gate locations to share. TFTC.
This was found on a day out with Touchstone7. Some of the caches she'd already found, some were new to her too. I've been slack in logging the caches, but thought I should finally log them given it's 3/4 way through 2018. The views from the hills were amazing, and today we saw a fire from (we think) Mitchell.
With the intent to get fitter, Genghicat and I have decided to grab this cache. It was a quick find in good condition. The hill is certainly a steep one if you come up beside the fence. I'm just glad the thistles have already been knocked down. Is a great view from up here.

There is a saying about starting the year how you want it to continue - so fresh air and some hard exercise beckoned. After a late night (but without intoxicants) and on a hot day, it did take quite a bit of self-motivation to get moving, but a string of caches I passed as I did the Centenary Trail through Goorooyaroo yesterday beckoned. It was Old Joe time...
In about the Year 3 BCG (before geocaching) I visited the summit of Old Joe doing the hard slog straight up his face. Not feeling the need to subject myself to that again today, I took the track suggested in the Old Joe cache's description. This proved a good move as it was much easier on slightly worn muscles (and lungs) and let me bring the bike up (mostly pushing, but a little riding across the top - it certainly made for a quick trip back down!
At the summit I took the time to soak in the extraordinary 360 degree views. This has to be one of the best views in Canberra - and there is some pretty stiff competition. I was glad I made the effort to bring my camera up - and leave the memory card in the computer at home. Grrr...
A little confusion finding the cache as I thought the wind thing, like the trig, was on private land, but I soon figured that out and made the find, taking a little more time to savour the magnificent views before heading back down. Took a trackable - that may find itself on the South Coast in the next couple of days. LNSL TFTC

Nice sunny afternoon with runner5ive. This place is quite high! Wonderful views. I hope on day it is not all houses out there.

We came for the two challenge caches but as this was really not that far away we kept going. We soon realised we had to hop the fence and steered clear of the the wind turbine as with today's stiff breeze it sounded like it was going to take off. We soon saw a likely spot and had a quick uncover of the cache. We completed the signing duties but did. It spot the TB mentioned in previous logs. TFTC.
Found it! OMG what a climb, what a great view! I reakon we took the hardest way up, poor GeoKids legs.....
It feels like ages since we’ve done a nice long caching run, so we headed out to Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve to find some of the Canberra Centenary Trail caches. We had to leave The Woofer at home, which is a shame - she would have loved wandering the track with us! We found 38 of 38 in just over 4 hours - even made it to the border of NSW. Not a bad effort! We had a great morning, and left goodies behind wherever possible.
We approached this from an easier angle, and had the cache in hand pretty quickly - none of that was a problem. The challenge began with Saf's poor old wobbly legs having to climb DOWN the steepest part of the hill...in joggers (why did the hiking boots get left behind?!) and with very icy grass. Of course she fell, and yep, some lovely big bruises the next day, but hey - a smiley face on a hill is always worth it...and they were some great views! TFTC!

I could see how steep some of the ways were up this hill, so rather than take the shortest route I approached from a less steep direction; the end furthest from Horse Park Drive. I came with my bicycle and cycled along the track until I passed the hill and then I headed back across country towards it, leaving my bicycle behind and then walking. The hill was not a problem from this direction, and I took it slow and steady and then I was at the top. After photographing the trig to log, I went after the cache and it was soon found. Good views from up here and I could see the steep slope I avoided by taking the route I did. I dropped off the TB 'make us jealous'. I picked it up in the UK, took it to Singapore and now it awaits a new person to take it travelling on. TFTC mungoman.
Found with Maris4. We took the hard way up. It was steep. But worth it once we got to the top. Thanks for bringing me up here, I didn't know this hill existed...
The steep climb was bit of a vhallenge, but we made it. There are some majestic trees when you are approaching frm SW direction. Thanks for the great views!
This was the target of my trip today, having had my eye in it for a while. Set off this morning to complete along with some of the CCT series. i began may trip to the top from a "nearby" cache and took in the view a few times until the fog removed the distraction and i could locate the cache.
Once found it was quickly returned along with a new TB of mine to entice another to make the climb

Ok ... So I didn't make it to the event in Alice Springs ... might have to spend at least half a day caching somewhere to console myself ... not going there did mean I was here to collect the 366 challenge cache now that today was day 367
... So ... I headed over here for a quite enjoyable quiet Good Friday afternoon of Geocaching therapy - wandering around by myself to find that, and whatever else I ended up doing on the way to/from
I ended up standing in a tree looking at one I couldn't reach (I am too heavy and not athletic enough to be game to crawl out along a dead branch with a crack in it!) and finding 9 caches, plus signing another one that I had already found (oops - my phone had died (had a power bank, but apparently my phone prefers real power if I run it right down to 0% before I plug it in - lol) and I had decided to look for the next likely place about 200m from the last one ... forgetting I had already found that one while there with a walking group last year
I had a fun afternoon, and while heading up the hill for what turned out to be my last find of the day, I met Marble droppers heading up along the other side of the fence for the same cache - lol
TFTC - this ended up being the 9th/last find ... I enjoyed walking up here, stopping here and there and admiring the views, taking photos of the views, and trees, and stuff ... was approaching the top when I noticed someone else wandering up on the other side of the fence ... and he was looking at something in his hand as he walked, just like me - yes - it was. another Cacher - lol (Marble Droppers) so we wandered up to GZ together and started looking ... was a bit worried about all those rocks and felt glad there were 2 of us to look ... but then it actually didn't take long at all before I spotted the cache ... we started walking down together but after about 50 metres I realised I had not taken a selfie with the trig, and I wanted one ... and to take a few more photos of/admire the view ... So I ducked back up and did that and then dashed down the hill to catch up ... which I did as I got to the bottom - lol

Having come into the area for a ftf, I did go past this first but planned to stop on the way back. That was one big climb and by the time I had returned for this cache I took the time searching and just enjoyed the views from the top. The GPSr did take me on a side tour of the hill before heading me back to the right place. Really should have read the hint perhaps! Anyway, great place here and took a bit of a search before finding the right side to be on but got there in the end! Thanks for the cache mungoman, great spot!

Decided to have a Sunday morning caching trip by myself to collect a few solved puzzles caches in the Goo. Parked near the highway and walked in. Many kilometers traversed this morning. The usual wildlife was around, and people at the pistol club were in fine form!! Only 8 caches found, so I will need a return trip to collect the rest!
This was sort of on my way to another puzzle, so stopped in for a look. It was not easy getting up the hill, but great views and sense of achievement once there. The hint was useful - should have acted on it 10 minutes earlier. TFTC!
6th at 1005 - steep climb!

Some time to myself before switching jobs so I decided to use the nicer days to get out and grab some caches. Todays target was a bike ride around Mulligans Flat to collect some more CCT and other random caches.
Well, I have been passed this hill MANY times and its always daunting.... but it was time...... It took a little while as I took the pushbike with me, a few stops along the way but all was good in the end. Made it to the top and there were some amazing views. Took a few photos, signed the cache and then it was back on the pushy for a fun ride down [:o)]

A spring evening in the Capital...finally. After work, I drove to the highway underpass and then spent just under an hour running all over The Goo, collecting 5 puzzles from ZQX and Winterdragon and a trad on top of Old Joe.
I spied the trad amongst a group of 11 Listed Coordinates for puzzles. As I was completing the last four puzzles in this group, I though it only fair to climb the hill and enjoy the accomplishment. I think I found the steepest section to ascend, but arrived at GZ and made a quick find. Great view, with the sun almost setting and no-one around. I continued up to the trig, then down along the fence, where I saw clear evidence of spring...as per photo. TFTC mungoman

#1865 A quick easy find after a long walk with green-martian, Duffco and the geokids. TFTC.
Geokids require all the credit here, first to find it with me TheSkype and Duffco tagging along behind. Nice views.
If I hadn't of had Loci612 with me pushing me along I would not of made it up there!
We did not follow the path and walked up a much steeper slope, coming from the direction from Hunting for Treasure in the 'roo.
Upon reaching the top, I can honestly say I nearly passed out! Recovering from a cold and having previously suffered from asthma in my younger years, as well as not being extremely fit. I was indeed breathless. Very much worth the views and the workout though, Thanks!

Yup this was quite a hike up the steep side of Old Joe. It was much quicker though than taking the long walk around the mountain and up the other side. We finally made it and ambi was out of breath so we had a break with some water and food.
Fantastic cache in a great location. Second time I have been up on this hill, the first time I was not into geocaching and must of almost sat on it!

Fantastic winter's day for a walk up here! The views are spectacular!!! Quick find once I finally made it to the top! TNLNTFTC
Spent a few hours picking off some remaining caches in the area. Started with 'Bruce's Climb' (great views), then across and up to 'Old Joe' (more great views), then down to 'Hunting for Treasure in the roo' (poor old Skip). Heading back to the geomobile picked off 'Dwarf Clan Firebeards' and 'Dwarf Clan Blacklock'. Thanks to all the CO's, a 'great' afternoon. TNLNSL TFTC
The twentieth find of the day. I had planned a big day of caching in Goorooyaroo to pick up the remaining Jackakid caches as well as a few other caches in the area. My goal was to find 31 caches and get my name in another cache. I was doing it on foot, starting at around 10 am and hoping to finish around 1. My first cache was The Zoo at the Goo! by specimenX and I managed to find the waypoints pretty quickly and then was off to GZ. From there, I headed off to Dwarf Clan Blacklocks where I found the cache quickly and then uphill to Burnt Stump Hill, where I found the cache while enjoying the views.
From there, I headed onwards to Dwarf Clan Firebeards and then onto the Jackakid powertrail. I found it each one pretty quickly before arriving at Challenge - 366 Consecutive Days where I signed the log in the hope of finally fulfilling the challenge requirement. After that, I headed uphill again and collected Dwarf Clan Stiffbeards and Dwarf Clan Broadbeams. After that, I was back on the Jackakid powertrail until the most northern cache in the series.
After knocking off most of the Jackakid series, I continued onward to Lightning Bolt Attractor. From there, I headed back toward Old Joe, collecting Slightly off the beaten track on the way. It was quite a climb up Old Joe hill, I guess that is reason why my marathon loving friend loves this hill! I headed down hill from there and then onto Zygon Inversion and Hunting for Treasure in the 'roo before finishing up with It burns after 2359, Dwarf Clan Longbeards and the remainder of the Jackakid series.
After finishing up in Goorooyaroo, my dad and I drove to Gungahlin Pond to collect the higher terrain caches and my second new D/T point for the day. I collected MisTREEvous first and then hit the lake to collect both Capital Paddle caches. It took a bit longer than I expected as the boat was quite slow. It was also tough trying to manoeuvre the boat into a good spot to collect Capital Paddle #1.
Thanks to all the cachers who hid caches that I found, it was an enjoyable day on the trails!

4/26 Today
Climbed Old Joe on my MTB.. good for the old high-intensity training (that's been sorely lacking of late)
Got to the top no worries, stumbling around with my MTB shoes in the rocks was more tricky!
However cache wasn't far, and was quickly retrived. TFTC!

Cache maintenance visit. Replaced the 8 year old cache container.
Made some room by removing the Astronaut swap and added a few smaller swaps.
My first visit using the Mountain bike route off the management trail. Lots of flies on the way up but the wind at the cache location seems to keep them away.
Thought I could find this one from memory but eventually gave up and asked the GPS to be told I was only 150m out and the wrong side of the fence line. Very satisfying views today.

Found with Decrypter, after a long climb from a nearby cache. I didn't have this one on my GPS, so I had to rely on instructions, but we soon had CIH. The container's lid is broken. TFTC
Did a long walk today (didn't have a bike with me) to do some caches in this reserve. Being from far out of area I didn't know what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed the area and the caches!

I think we did this the easier way, approaching from the trail at Gooroo Hill. I can't imagine coming up that slope from directly below! Even going down it was a slow and steady journey and the knees felt every step. Although our way was longer, we enjoyed the walk and got to the cache without dying . The day had fined up by now and offered up probably the best views of the day over Canberra and beyond. There was also the perfect platform to rest and have something to eat before beginning the homeward journey. Great spot for a cache! Thanks mungoman
Made my way out this way today with Boot65, we had a lovely walk around today it was worth getting all my work done today. we did see lots of roo's out and about. after the walk up a set was on the plans, the Hide has a hole in it so I'm not sure how long all the little goodies and log will last. but the views are so worth the pain to get up here. i give this a fav point just for the views
Thanks Mungoman

What a great view from GZ. We have not been to the top of this hill before and loved looking down at Canberra. The climb up the hill was definitely worth the views.
Thanks for the exercise and the cache.

Today we had good weather and a chance to complete this mountain of its caches. We headed on our bikes making great time, We soon arrived at GZ and located the cache, Great views. We found that the container is broken and not water tight, it will need replacing. Before too long the duties done and we headed off to the next find. TFTC
Out on a cache run with mr_roo. I had been up here before with the Canberra Bushwalk Club but didn't have time to search for the cache. Made it back today and really enjoyed the wonderful views. Not often you can wear a t.shirt up here at this time of year. A bit of scramble and read of the description and I soon had the CIH. All in good conditon. Gets a FP from me - thanks a lot
Thanks Mongoman for bringing me out here today and for 1000th find.
I have really enjoyed my caching experiance so far.. have been to great locations i didn't know existed, been on some epic mtb rides and hikes.
Awesome views from up here

Sunday 17 May 2015 - another superb autumn afternoon in the high teens with a glorious blue sky. Found four caches over a 6.5 km brisk walk. Quick and easy find. Thx p2p. TFTC.

I'd been eyeing up these hills for a while now, and this morning was the perfect opportunity; clear skies and no wind. My mission was to cycle this stretch of the centennial trail and find a few caches along the way. This wasn't initially on the radar, but having found one just over 300m away (to the SW) I thought I'd grab this one anyway. It wasn't long before I had to resort to pushing the bike up the hill, but it was worth it for the views. Cache quickly found. (Everything was dry, but the cache does have holes and cracks, and could do with being replaced). A nice ride down the north side to "Gooroo at Goorooyarroo". TFTC.

Finally made it, after procrastinating for quite some time. So pleased it was an overcast day for this good workout for my legs and cardiovascular system!!

Given you are reading this now, if you are planning a visit then DO IT!!! and if you're already here, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Its a great hill to climb (I came up the steep bit from the front) and the views are amazing. Gungahlin, Belconnen, Civic, Woden and the Brindabellas. This is a favourite for me, tftc mungoman
Found on a peak walking challenge for Do It In A Dress. Lovely day for it. TFTC
Today I decided to collect the unfound caches in Goorooyaroo. Naturally these are the ones on top of hills like Old Joe. It was a long slog up this hill from the SE direction, but it was a magical day with a cool breeze and perfectly clear conditions. Once at gz, it too quite a while to locate the cache. I think I expected it to be an easy grab after the toil of the climb, but not so. Eventually found it, but I must have spent a good 20 mins looking in (obviously) all the wrong places. There is a richness of great hiding spots. I know this because I checked them all out.
There were wedge-tail eagles soaring above today. Always a grand slight. tftc.

Container is not water resistant, it has cracks and is damp in side. Thanks for the cache, fantastic view from up here.
Found on a cold and frosty morning out in Gungahlin. One of the major highlights for the day. After getting the trig, we went through the gate and quickly walked over to this GZ. Such a suitable location for the cache, could not have picked a better spot on the hill myself. A very quick find once there. While signing the log, we admired the amazing view of the city and the ditch below us. Top spot! Took a FurfacesLL pathtag in exchange for one of my own pathtags. TFTC mungoman!
With the afternoon free I thought I'd head out somewhere new near to the suburbs to grab some caches.
This was my second of the afternoon at 1440.
The cache lid was cracked but had managed to avoid water penetration with the recent rain. Contents include log were still dry.
Walked up to the nearby weather station to look at the awesome views!
Thanks for the Cache

Glorious day for a bush walk, we had driven past long enough. Today we decided to head out to tackle these on a 9.4km round trip bush walk through this area.
The trek just got better and better, heading across from Gooroo we appreciated the gentler slop to climb, arrived at the top where we found the breeze a bit cooler. None of that mattered when we got there, wow what a view, you can see down to Woden and slightly past. Not sure why we have put this one off for so long. Located the hide fairly quickly and then negotiated the descend to the bottom, taking the safer approach.
TFTC and for bringing us to the beautiful area.
