What better way to spend a mental health day from work than to take a spontaneous hike and find some caches with a mate! I've spent many hours out here and had not yet made the trek over the top of Mt Cooke (wild wet weather turned us away from going over on my year 10 hike unfortunately). We parked at the Karijini cache and made our way clockwise around to find 21 relatively easy finds in total.Met a walker at the nook and had a nice chat. An approached from the south east was much easier than directly west of this cache haha. There's some old wooden bridges not in use just nearby too, I don't know why old, not in use things excite me like they do, TFTC!
Another easy find, my 11th on a day spent geocaching the Mt Cooke loop. And I found the nearby cave too, thank you.
Amazing helped me find the nearby cave and sign a diary too - so a fab point for cool. TFTC!
Mothers Day and after a lovely breakfast, we decided to walk to the top of Mount Cooke. It was on our return journey that we came to look for this one, and what a spectacular boulder is balancing at GZ. Well hidden and very safe, we signed the log to look at some of the views around us before gradually making our way further down the hill again. Thanks Team Gunn Parker Domsky
Another good find and a few scratches and internal red product on the outside to prove I was here. Thanks for the cache and the cave.
Nice morning out hiking with geowife. Doing the mount Cooke loop for the first time after many trips to Mt cuthbert. Didn’t realise until we arrived there were a wealth of caches to be had. TFTC!
TFTC. I entered the cave on the other side by crawling. Between rocks have better access. I put some rocks on top of the log as some are flying away.
Left home at 5:45am for a one hour drive down to Mt Cooke. Was a perfect day for a hike and we collected a few geocaches along the way including this one. Thanks for the adventure. What a cool location this is.
What an awesome morning we had... set out at 6am with geo-hubby and muggle in-laws to complete this circuit while the weather looked fine! In-laws are 67 and 80 years old and absolute machines... they have completed the Bibb Track over many years recently so we knew that this intro to geocaching would be right up their alley! We ended up walking 14.7kms and had a blast with amazing views, beautiful wildflowers and great company!
We found all 21 around the circuit with no DNFs.
Found the cache, signed, then found the cave.... decided not to crawl in and sign the 'cave diary' as we were all chickens! True story!
Thank you Team Gunn Parker for placing and maintaining Cookes Nook for us and others to find and enjoy!

Took a bit of bush bashing but found it with the kids. Thanks for the cache. Looks like a few cachers have mistakenly thought the cave diary is the cache.
We came across this cache while end-to-ending the Bibbulmun Track. We've long since retired from Geocaching, but thought what the heck, we'll sign the log book anyway. Great views along this section. Thanks.
I read about the granite cave but without geocaching we would have probably walked past this. It was awesome!!!
Thanks Team Gunn Parker for the cache.
An excellent day of caching around the mountain circuit with Probsty. We made a 21 finds from 21 attempts including the final. All caches were in good condition

View is incredible and the book idea is great. Kids spent ages interior designing the inside of the cave to live in forever.
Needing a cache to help fill our D and T grid we headed off from Bunbury with caching buddies Copwats for the day. The cache took us to this spectacular area so whilst here what better way to fill in the day but to do the Mt Cooke caches. Enjoyed exploring the small cave. It was a brilliant Autumn day with amazing views. We finished the walk with a few tight body parts but loved every minute. TFTC
Thanks to the cache owners for putting this series and caches here. We thought this would be a short drive from our camp site at Nanga but the 42ks as the crow flies is over 100 by road. Amazing scenery and magnificent views from the ridge. The wildflowers were just starting to come out. In two weeks the orchids come out it will be spectacular. I do t understand the catch but there are great views from the cache.
All caches were found bar one and the mystery that we didn’t get a chance to work out. All caches found in good condition with accurate coordinates. The entire circuit took us 6 hours carrying a baby and having a half hour picnic at the summit. Apologies for the duplicate log.

Up from Bunbury on a lovely winters day, picnic and lots of water packed, the wind is fairly strong but the sun is nice and warm fantastic views and and a strenuous climb in parts crossed over a couple of creeks whilst doing this series absolutely awesome hike. TFTC
A caching expedition with Fratra, Two+Four & LAXA.
A bit of bush bashing to this one and after completing the formalities we headed out of the cover of the bush onto the rock outcropping and into the heaviest rain that we encountered on the whole walk.

A call went out for anyone interested in tackling Mt Cooke. An intrepid group of hikers was formed - 2 + 4, CJ252, Daddy LAXA and Mr fratra and a date and time set. 24 hours before hand the weather caused discussions to be had and advice being sought before the decision was made 'let's go for it'. We had planned to meet at 7.30am but us all being super punctual meant we headed off at 7.15am and signed the final cache 4.5 hours later. We completed the hike amidst drizzle, sunshine, freezing winds and icy cold rain all at various points along the track. All caches were found and signed as 24CJFTLAXA. A fantastic hike and enjoyable morning with great company.
TFTC Team Gunn Parker this is find # 5025 for us.

It was a bit of a spontaneous decision to answer Mr.fatra's call to tackling Mt Cooke series
In company of 2 + 4, CJ252 and Mr fatra all caches on the way where found quickly with one or two taking a bit longer.
We had a bit of everything Rain, sun, wind, magnifies views and clouds.
thanks for brining at this series with a fantastic hike TFTC Kyzabra & Jinta29

Our 16th cache of the morning and what a morning. Wind, rain and mad drivers. We set off for the series around 7.15 with Fratra, CJ252 and LAXA. All the caches were found in good condition although the weather conditions kept changing.
Thanks for the cache.

I've been eyeing off this series for a very long time, having walked much of this section of the Bibbulmun track some years, in my pre-caching days. A friend of mine decided he would like to do some hiking and I convinced him to come with me on this trail. Surprisingly he went all out and actually made a geocaching account - premium and all! - Deefa71 - so he could fully immerse himself in the experience A great day out - a magical winters day: 23 degrees, no wind or rain and compact ground underfoot- it took us about 4.5 hours to complete the circuit, with 22 finds and no DNFs. Took the resident TB. TFTC
Found on day 10 of our walk to Albany. Walking out of Mt Cooke to Nerang . Thankyou for the cache
Stopped by here with jinta29 on a maintenance run today. I really enjoyed the walk around Mt Cooke, happy to add some smilies to the tally. Yep, may have forgotten to log these ones for over a year - a la AlliedOz.
Looks like it has been found again. Maybe the people who said it needs maintenance were a little hasty.
Had the Mount Cooke bushwalk on the radar for some time now and finally time and suitable weather all lined up. This walk is truly a geocachers dream having so many caches in close proximity to one another and being such a great walk. Thank you to all the CO's.
Great spot for a cache. Went under the rock - truly amazing.
Thank you Team Gunn Parker for placing this cache. Signed log, TNLN.

Some junior members of another caching team begged to come with me today, but for one obvious reason, and another (lack of sleep on their part) I was a mean Aunty and refused their attendance. This did result in quite a few text messages asking where I was! It was a great day for a walk, just the right temperature and a nice breeze. I enjoyed the walk and geocaches very much. Thank you! On a lovely autumn morning papillon367 and I teamed up to hike Mount Cooke. We were a little worried on approach as there was a prescribed burn in the area, but luckily it was on the opposite side of the highway. We parked near the suggested parking spot and headed off in a clockwise direction.
After battling some scrub when approaching GZ from the north, exiting in a southerly direction was much easier. Cache was in good condition.

Ullyssia and I teamed up on this beautiful day for a walk up to Mt Cooke to look for the “Western Australia” series and the other hides in the area. We got to fill a few more spots on our D/T grid and it was nice to have a break from micros. All caches were found without too many issues, although some took a bit longer than others.
We went through a bit of bush bashing to get to the cache and then realised that there was an easier route. Thank you for the cache Team Gunn Parker.

Found Cookes Nook. Along the way to Cookes Nook could see the peak of Mount Cooke and the magnificent view of the Youraling State Forest. Also, found a mini snake crossing the track. No trackables to trade TNLN SL TFTH Team Gunn Parker.
To the Batcave Robin (ok there are no bats) and it took my GPS some coaxing to move away from this awesome refuge to the real location of the cache. Admist some remnants of a time past. Thanks for bringing me here. (BTW - front door easy, back door a bit squeezy).
Went for a hike up Mt Cooke with Pret WA Team and found some geocaches too - this was one of them. Thanks for placing this cache in such a nice place.
Tftf found whilst out with a group of friends fantastic view from the top wowwow

I doubt all the past finders know that my cache is NOT in the cave but past it heading East to the left. It is quite a way from the cave.
But years ago another person left a note book and pencil in the cave which has nothing to do with geocaching.

Originally logged under family caching name. Clan- Wallace. Now relogging under new name.
WebblyWA, being the youngster in our pack, thought she had found a Cubby House to play in & I did not think that we would ever get her out....not that I minded too much as I took advantage of the delay to have a rest on a conveniently placed rock. The cache however was found by the menfolk some metres away. TFTC
Found on the Cooke's Tour by the famous 5, made up of Mr and Mrs Clan Wallace, megawat60, WebblyWA and moi.
At this point WebblyWA revived her inner child and entered the "cave", admiring the vegetation and looking for "something". However, that "something" was found by Mr Clan Wallace in another spot.
Thanks for this cache Team Gunn Parker.

I missed the cave entrance totally even after being by far the first person on site in our motley group of Clan-Wallace, m4yb and Webbly WA. WebblyWA found the cave and I could hear the reverberation form inside the rock, but I was loosing faith in the Garmin and it was Mr Clan-Wallace who made this find, thankfully.
A weird cache style but thanks anyway Team Gunn Parker

I abandoned caching to play in the cave. Was great fun and the roof has some amazing features. While the others went searching for the cache I enjoyed my hidey hole and watching there foots steps with the knowledge that they missed how I got in there. I could sit up quite comfortable inside and would provide excellent shelter if the weather turned. Glad this one took them a little longer as it gave me more exploring time. With the log signed it was time to leave this great spot and I'm giving it a fav for the great location on the top of this mountain. TFTC Team Gunn Parker
Note: Cache isn't in the cave so have added a photo if you don't feel like climbing inside yourself

We had an awesome day hiking the mt Cooke trail all caches were found and in good order bar one which had no lid on it when we found it (co informed and cache dried out). We did the series in about 6 hours at a casual pace with numerous stops to take our crazy photos such s great series! We are so lucky in Australia! Removed some trash from the top as well including stove gas canisters and soft drink bottles. Totally awesome day thanks for the hard work in placing the caches

After meeting up with iluvtrekking and JacobsCrrew2 in Jarrahdale earning this morning, we headed to Mt Cooke to do the series and other caches along the well defined track. Superb views on a beautiful day. This is our preferred type of caching. Thanks Team Gunn parker
Found with richlink and JacobsCrew2, thanks Team Gunn Parker for adding to the enjoyment of our day.
Out with Lazarus_68 to complete the caches in the Mt Cooke area. We started reasonably early (for me any way). The caches were completed in a clockwise direction as suggested. This being the fifteenth cache for the day. All caches in the series were found without any trouble and a note of the codes was made as we progressed through the series. The assent was relatively easy although marred a little by the rain on the way up. It didn't take us long to dry out as the walk progressed. The views from the top were magnificent. The descent phase of the walk proved to be the toughest part for me and like some others we seemed to lose the track for a while. But that's why we carry a GPS so we can go directly to the cache. I spotted quite a number of small wrens flitting around, a couple of lizards and one wet kangaroo. All in all a very enjoyable day. Many thanks for the Mt Cooke cache. I had a look in the nearby cave (if you could call it that), looks like someone has been leaving needles around. So be careful if anyone else decides to have a look.
Out in the morning with hhheddy looking for caches + GCA's Mt Cooke Trig on top; walking the track in clockwise direction. The assent was relatively easy, although marred by light rain, didn't take long for us to dry out as the walk progressed. The views from the top were magnificent, plus found interesting rock formations. The descent proved to be the toughest part, painful on the knees, taking care not to slip on loose wet stones etc. All in all a very enjoyable day. Many thanks for this awesome series!!
TFTC! Found on a lovely morning walk with Cravo10 to complete the regions of wa trail and a few others along the area of Mount Cooke. Probably rates as the second best series I've done to date (5000caches) slightly behind the CCC trail.
Was good going for most of the way, with a well defined path although I managed to get myself somewhat lost between Cookes Nook and Gascoyne. I somehow managed to lose the trail, but with a small amount of bushbashing and taking note of a well marked waypoint found myself back on the trail. Slot of thanks to jinta and Kyzabra for putting together such a good trail. All caches were found with a minimum of fuss except for the puzzle which took me about ten minutes.
I managed to knock over a major milestone whilst out today - filling my DT grid on Cookes Tour which was the final spot on the grid to be filled (d1t4).
I would love to award more fav points but I am nearly all out so I will have to do some retrospectively. Thanks

Was out and about with SpatialRiq to do the newish series up here on the Mt Cooke walk. I have always looked at this this hill each time I drive by and have wanted to have a go at it. The lure of a heap of caches was all it took to get the job done.
After scooting in to the nook to check it out and enjoying the breeze as it swept through it was on to find the cache.
Thanks for the cache in a lovely location TGP. Enjoyed the day out here.

Had a brief stop over in Perth and what better way to explore the state than a trip around Mt Cooke. Set off early to avoid the heat of the day. On arriving in the area it seems a very recent hazard reduction burn has been undertaken over most of Mt Cooke. Unfortunately this has destroyed a number of caches in the neighbourhood. These were the plastic sistema containers (South west, Gascoyne - prob burnt, eagles soar, Peel -prob burnt, great southern -prob burnt, ningaloo burnt, karijini burnt).
Thankfully this one was in an unburnt patch and is ok! Nice cave. Dropped off a tb as it looks safe. Despite the blackened Bush had a great walk.

Out hiking enjoying the views, brilliant weather and a nice string of smileys.
Checked out the Nook and the we in search of the cache, took a little while as the GPS kept having us wander back and fourth. But found at last, then onto the next.

As usual, I have fallen behind in logging my finds - some things never change. Anyway, better late than never, or so they say. Thoroughly enjoyed the hike, the views, the flowers, and the company (and the caches too). Hope to return again one day and do the walk in the other direction. Thanks Team Gunn Parker
This cache was set at about the time that I started caching. A time when the caching landscape had a bit more meaning and challenge than now. It's taken me along time to get here but now that I have I can say that it has 100% lived up to my expectations. Thanks Team Gunn Parker for a great cache
A late and showery start to the day but we gave it a go. First time here and the awesome hike rewarded us with great views between the showers. Unfortunately a wrong track was taken and we missed the last 6 of the series. Was getting late and needed to reach the car before dark. We will be back to finish!! Thanks for the caches.
Today was the day for the walk around Mt Cooke to collect the Western Australia Series and a couple of other hides on the way. All started really well, with a sunny-cloudy weather, but as we were climbing up towards the summit we got some showers.
To sum it up it was good fun despite the wet weather, nice flowers and scenic views from the top. TFTH
