Didn't find it. Area was flat paddock. No places a cache could be hidden. Suggest that terrain has been changed and cache is no longer there. My suggestion - "The cache that should be archived" Cheers Gav
Yet another #@&%*@@ dairy conversion!! I suggest it should now be called "The Cache With No Name and No Cache".
Looking from the road I could see the general location, but there was a lot of activity (earth moving machinery) right where it should have been!
couldn't find it -could see are where it was most likely hidden, despite co-ords pointing 15 metres out into barren paddock. Wondering if recent ploughing of paddock near "pile" has obscured hiding place -searched fairly thoroughly in area
No luck, my GPS pointed 20 meters out in the paddock but searched the likely spots with no luck, maybe next time
Definately blaming the snow for this miss, every nook and cranny was filled with the stuff. Poked and prodded for a while, but think it was futile.
A pretty easy find, some interesting history, and the longest caching walk for a couple of days - that's a worry. At least we got one big walk in earlier in the weekend. The rail corridor almost looked like a paper road. TNLN, Thanks.
Success a second time, not sure how I missed it torch light last time. A quick dash along, 10 seconds looking and got it. Thanks for bringing me to interesting places. TNLN Thanks.
#1198 An easy find and an interesting piece of history associated with the cache site. TNLN TFTC DS8300
Interesting and informative visit and a pleasant stroll on a lovely fine Canterbury day.

Found this after a bit of a search - GPS insisted it was in a nearby bush - aided by sp00k and Ciotas who turned up just after we arrived. TNLN TFTC
Our GPS took us on a cook's tour before finally relenting and depositing us next to a campervan we had already passed several times. Found Mike and Alice at the site and joined in the search. Well hidden! Took the metal clip and left a jumping dog.
Ran down to the cache. Umm, not so sure of a cache name, maybe "Go and get loaded"
Found with Team Chelmo. Found after a couple of minutes, was thinking too creatively!
- TB that was in the cache, but is listed as being in 'Lonely Church' for some reason.
Cheers,
Blarghster.

Oh the entertainment we had here today. We clearly approached this cache from the wrong direction... We jumped the very dry irrigation system and looked on to where we needed to be. Upon looking at the fencelines B went down to where the fence was higher, and could get his leg over without attaching himself to the barbwire. J is a tad shorter so thought she would just hop across the paddock and through the gate by the cache site. No no no no no!! She was quickly spotted by our muggly mooers who came charging after her!! Upon freaking out and heading for the fenceline, she noticed 2 lines of barbwire through it and thought uh oh. B came to the rescue quickly and allowed her to get over the fence in the nick of time. Lesson of the day - Cows aren't as friendly as they first seem, even female ones!! We are both still laughing about it. Cache was found pretty quickly and we enjoyed the seat/rest while we read the history. The onlookers certainly weren't budging till we did, and then they followed us all the way back to the car. This time via the easy route TNLN Cheers for the history and the humour.
Certainly an interesting bit of history. I'm more than 10th to find, but I'd name it "Lonely Line" or "Sad Siding".
No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(925)

Found on a day out caching in Ashburton with lytteltonwitch. Looking on were a herd of young cattle jostlingeachother at the fenceline for the best possie to see what we were up too. We were so impressed I walked back to the car to get the cameras. A highligt of the day especially as we arrived without a printout just coordinates in our GPS. Took Dogtag coin and left a frog TB
Took a bit of searching and as usual I get wet and dirty.Don't remember taking anything from the cache but did leave a bookcrossing book about Piglet. We were watched by several mooing muggles and a hare went racing past.I like the name the cache has already.
A night cache hunt around the place, on the way to Lucky #7. The GPS was determined to point at a certain object but hunted high and low for it with no luck. Found a great hole for a micro to go into with 2 removable plugs - but no cache. Nice bit of history, I'll be back!
Dropped in with rattusbaggus and Mrs keewee for a spot of lunch... well actually I suggested we take lunch with us and was out voted. Then when it was found by the others that the waypoint was a scenic, warm spot I was dispatched back to the car to grab the lunch! Grabbed the California Micro, left a Smort78 GeoTag. TFTC!
Oh, and my suggestion of a name for the cache is "Thomas and the Lost Railway".

keewee (Dad) brought us up to the great spot on our way to placing a cache at Lagmhor. Lovely place for lunch.

Blast. Came away without reading previous logs, though now I've read them I'm still clueless! I'm certain I had the right general area, but I'm starting to think the Americans have messed with the GPS system accuracy (I know, I know; a poor workman blames his tools). As the spot it kept pointing to contained nothing. Tried all around the general area, but no joy. Very keen to get in on the action for the coin so will have to come down to Ashvegas again soon...
Well, we pondered on names, and have come up with one each:
"Cache in the bank"
"End of the line"
It would seem winter makes this an interesting spot to visit. Cheers all.

1527. yes - we were there at 4.15pm. That was a good place to hide a cache and it was well hidden. We love learning about historical information such as this so it's always good when someone stumbles across something this interesting.
Our cache name - we have a whole list but this is the one we like best: DeRailed.
Thanks

4:45pm - Found quickly as the sun slid behind the trees. Brrrr. The Sallies had not long been through, must have missed them leaving by only 10 minutes. Great spot, awesome bit of history. It is a shame that it isn't still intact.

very disappointed.
Was heading up to Picton to catch ferry back to wellington and drove little out of way to find cache. Could not spare more than half and hour to look and was cursing self for not looking at clue (see now there is no clue...).
There was snow on the ground but I looked and looked and looked.
Most disheartened. Would love to read the wiki stuff on the site - I think I have an idea what it was also disappointed I cannot be in to win the coin. Great job on it btw!

Mum wanted another first to find. So after tea I agreed to come out hunting with her. It was very cold and misty.
Mum let me hold the GPS and help find the cache.

Yippee. Another FTF in an out of the way place. Interesting history - would not guess it from looking. Thanks for the note on the subject - cool idea. Dropped through on the way to work, and the rain really lifts the excercise. Will ponder on the name and suggest later, as this needs some thought. T4TC. Took nothing but left an unactivated coffee cup coin to tempt the next lucky visitor to have as their very own..... Cheers TC.
63. Noticed this last night, had been txting with Team chelmo about another of their caches and so knew it was coming up. TC said it would be easy enough for the boys to find, JK has already found one which I was having trouble with. So to go out or not with son already in bed. I left it and went out this afternoon after husband got home from work. Was drizzling we had already missed ftf but there was an unactivated coin, so pack the bag and fingers crossed that we wouldn't get too wet. My shoes were still wet from an excersion last night.
Got to intersection closest to gz and saw a farm track which I almost drove up, that is until I saw the fence at the last moment, wet gravel brakes on will I stop in time? Yes just! With inches to spare. So reverse up and park and out for the walk, not far really.
Handed gps over to JK (four years old) and he lead the way. Got us to gz where I took over control of gps, TC said he would leave it somewhere obvious but I knew someone had already been there before us. Was getting cold fingers and toes not happy this was not going as planned. JK suggested a possible hiding place so I woked a peice of wood out to see if it was behind it but no. I was wondering where it could be but JK was still hunting then I saw a possible area JK come and look here and so he did and 'Mum I found it... can you pull it out please it is too big for me'. Sure I will pull it out. JK got to check out the trades and even signed the logbook.
