Logs
Driving past this area with the CO, we stopped by to see if we could in fact locate this cache. We spent a long time searching first one side of the structure, poking and prodding and moving all the leaf litter, to no avail. We then started walking along the other side of the structure towards GZ and all of a sudden I spotted a film canister. Lo and behold, the ziplock bag and logsheet were still inside. So it turns out this cache is indeed still there in place, it is just no longer in a fake rock, but is now a black film canister. It is also on the 'less likely to be seen when searching' side. Thanks for the cache, cooroy scout bug.
When I adopted a whole heap of Cooroy Scout caches back in 2013, it was just easier to request that I take the whole lot that were still attached to the original account, instead of henpecking the good ones. Since then, I have archived only one of those that was right next to a playground. This one is nothing more than a fake rock inside the sound barrier of an estate. I imagine back in 2007, the 'visual geocaching landscape', the area was quite bare and this cache filled a gap. There is plenty of caches that carry similar hidden month value so I can not see a clear reason to keep this one active.
When I found this cache, I actually PAFed a cacher to find it myself, as it was a little hard to find compared to the other 'Scouts' caches. Even though I am most confident the container is still in place, I have no aspirations to maintain this cache any more. One for the archive hunters.
Farewell Old Cache,
dahumbug.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

This cache has been reported as being broken for over 12 months and has not been found for nine months. Could the CO please check it in the near future. Thanks
This cache has been reported as being broken for over twelve months and has not been found for over nine months.
Found. This cache needs some love!! Log is so old and has been wet so many times it's falling apart. Container is broken. TFTC
Found the cache on the ground with the container all cracked - think it needs some TLC. Log is all shredded and it was difficult to find somewhere to sign. TFTC dahumbug
Thought I would try to pick up a few caches in the Coolum/Peregian area this morning. So I started up the Geojet and headed north. When I entered the suggested parking co-ordinates into my GPS I think it was telling me to park in the roundabout so I did not take that option. Found the cache readily enough. Container is falling apart but log was dry. TFTC Cooroy scouts. Liked the pun in the hint.
Bit of a rainy day today so it was a bit wet underfoot... Nevertheless got through to the spot. Looked around for a bit, my mini-geocacher nearly gave but then we came up with the goods TFTC!
Found while on a geocaching trip and visit to the Sunshine Coast - love this place especially when I can visit from New Zealand during our winter

Out for a geocaching playday with GeographyMan and the rest of the family to celebrate my 13th birthday.
The aim was to find 13 caches in 3 hours. #5/13. Geomama spotted this one from a distance. Nice little hide.

Quick find. TFTC. Found with Secret7(P) - number 5 of 13 (hopefully) on our birthday geobash.
Remind me why I am out here in the bush....in my thongs and boardies again? Oh yeah, to get another one of dahumbugs caches. Thanks dahumbug
We had visited Perigian earlier in the week but missed this cache out as it didn't fit into our route. As we were driving home from Coolum we stopped at GZ to give this one a shot. Thanks to the clever hint the cache didn't take very long to find!
Thanks dahumbug for keeping this one alive!
Thanks dahumbug for keeping this one alive!
The suggested parking co-ordinates for this one are not a safe place to park at all. We parked further up the road and walked back to GZ. Once there we made a quick find of half of the cache and then after a bit more searching found the other half of it. TNLNSL TFTC
This one has been on our DNF list for quite a while - have had a really good try at least twice before - now 2 years since the last visit, passing by .....took a deep breath and decided to have another go.
Parked on the other side of road heading back towards the roundabout. Scaled the scrappy slope and found myself in the familiar location where I had failed before.
This time I read the previous logs carefully and tried to think laterally. Gps not very helpful as I could not find anything at this gz. Looked in all the logs over and around, up and down the fence, round the back. Starting to get frustrated in the heat and scratchy scrub covered in webs.
Then I spotted a photo in one of the logs with a clue to what to look for. Scouted around trying to find something similar. Still couldn't see anything so narrowed in on the part of structure that seemed to be where it had been at least once before.
Then rummaging around on the ground, I uncovered part of cache that must have been the outer hide. It had been buried quite a bit in leaf litter and dirt. It still took a while longer to finally locate the other part with the log, although broken. At last! Once the log was signed, I reunited the 2 pieces with each other and hid them back together in a fashion. They didn't want to stay connected though.

Dangerous spot to pull over but cache was found in need of repair though. JenneG & Budgy
This was the final cache in the Perigian Springs area to be found.
We were driving past so thought it would be a good chance to find it.
The cache was found fairly easily and the log signed.
It may need some maintenance as the inner container has become separated from the outer container, although both are at GZ.

After enjoying our weekend at Dunethin for the event, Captain Terror and I had packed up our tent, loaded the canoe onto the roof and were on our long drive home via a few caches. After waiting in the car for the Captain to find a couple that I had previously found it was time to grab some myself.
We pulled up at the parking coordinates but I asked the Captain if we could park elsewhere as I felt a little uneasy leaving my car here. We parked a short walk away and made our way to GZ via what seemed to be a plumbers dumping ground.
We found the container though it is broken and could really do with some TLC. We signed our names in the logbook and replaced all as found. Thanks for the cache.

I do love me a cooroy scouts hide, which is helped all the more by the fact they are so damn old and stick with my theory of 'older is better' in geocaching. Net88 and I were grabbing just two in Peregian Springs on our way from somewhere farther east to the Bruce.
We'd noted the parking co-ordinates, but upon arrival we decided it maybe wasn't the best parking spot for us today, so we carried on and found a more appropriate spot that we were comfortable with. Excellent. Now, two feet and a heartbeat to GZ.
We walked down to the water feature which I'm sure featured in brochures and open house banners of the day, but has been neglected for a darn long time now, full of leaves and parts broken. Even nearby we spotted assorted PVC fittings in the bush. Yeah, the things you find eh?
The GPSr pointed yonder so off we went, around trees and over logs. Aand, here we are. it didn't take too long to find a geocache-like item. Then not far away, the rest of the geocache. A bit strange. It was noted we had an inner and outer container. The inner is beyond repair and despite the 'owner maintenance' log below, the log has not been fine and the lot really ought to be replaced. However, we got a signature in there and replaced as found.
Now, just back to the car and it was the same way we came in. I love an old smiley, so thanks for that csnmasn - but do tell that dahumbug that this one actually needs some real maintenance

I am glad it's not the summer with no bitties around, took a while to locate, it's not what I was expecting. Signed the log and replaced. Thanks to dahumbug.
This cache took us a while to ride up to, but once we got there it was worth it. We found our selves wading through sticks, sharp objects and logs. After about 10 minutes of cuts and bruises, we located the area. Many seconds later, we found the cache. Signed the log and found with LoneLobster. TFTC!
Found this one with a bit of luck and just managed to have a quick sharp glimpse at it before grabbing it, was quite a hard spot to get to as it was quite bushy and there were many spiderwebs, overall we loved this cache. Signed the log and found the cache with CanyoneroCrew! TFTC!
KingKeyLocksmiths, Marina 25 and I headed out today with a certain challenge in mind (25 unique D/T in a day). This was find #11! After trying to find a spot to park, we quickly jumped out and headed past the sign. Looked around to find KingKeyLocksmiths with the cache in hand! TFTC!
5/7/15 Out for a day with Zardecoh and Marina25 to complete the Unique D/T challenge. We headed in and made it to GZ without too much difficulty, but the cache didn't want to show itself. Due to time constraints I checked the clue. Hhhhmmmmm.....a bit of searching over there....nothing...then, I'll just move this and look at that...a cache. Great sneaky hide. Once spotted so obvious, but not before. TFTC and our 11th find for the challenge.
This is at least a 3 terrain for an old Granny like me but a quick find never the less TFTC

The internal container is split and will let water in very easily. The ziplock bag is keeping the logsheet dry, for now.
Found at 1240.
My second cache found at Peregian today.
I parked near GZ and bush bashed my way towards the cache. Coords were spot-on and I soon found the cache wedged in a spot that didn't really make it well hidden.
The internal container has seen better days and is starting to split/crack.
I signed the logsheet and put things back together as best as I could.

Had to do a couple of laps of the "parking" spot on this one as I drove straight past... Trekking to the spot following the gps I was looking around and thought really?? I thought I found the cache out in the open but no it was just someone who had pulled apart an item nearby and placed the part on top of a nearby fallen tree.
So I kept going and thought.. oh oh.. Do I have to go there??? But its ok.. I found the cache without having to 'go there' lol
Thanks for the cache DaHumBug.

There were some small route changes after I screwed up the order of my plans today, and this saw me arriving here. I noticed the cache on the map and figured hey why not take a little look and see what I can find.
I headed over and followed the GPSr to an area you love to hate. But be it what it is, I started having a bit of a look, off in one direction and then back in the other direction. Soon enough a container was found and the cache log now contains my name.

Booyah Found it!
Finally conquered Peregian Springs! MUhahaha!
Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned this because I know I have a tendency to annoy this particular CO by not caching out a whole area at a time and purposely leaving caches on my unfound list.... Now He may just decide to place another Peregian Cache just to annoy me!
I'm pretty sure if anyone else wants to find this cache I've now cleared out all of the spider webs for a while! I think i walked into every single one here!

I was around in the area of Peregian again today and thought I might grab a few caches I missed the other day. I parked the car just up a bit from the round-a-bout and must have chosen the hardest way to get to the cache, as I normally do.
I made my way towards GZ and once there had a little look around. I checked all of the obvious places and just as I was starting to get worried that I might have a DNF on my hands... There it was.
Thanks for another great cache 'dahumbug', all is in order.

Hard to find the parking ordinance so park elsewhere and walked back. Easy find after a little bush bashing tf tc
Couldn';t find the parking spot and had young kids with me so too far to walk from nearest parking space. Might try again without kids.
Flat tyre on the Mack, a hours wait for the tyre company, what to do? Oh wait there is a cache 250m away! Love caching on company time
found this one after a bit of bush bashing, sadly we didnt see about the parking way point until we just about found the cache
New Logsheet has been placed in cache. Parking Waypoint has been added. There is very few spots to park near the cache.
Floating around the area at night, and I had to phone a friend. This was not what I expected from the scouts.
Thanks for the cache Cooroy Scouts.

A scrubby search but a good hide. TFTC. Angus the great GeoWestie assisted by Carer [grey nomad] Lis Brown en route from Shepparton to Bundaberg.
J dropped me off at the estate sign and parked further down the road. I searched for about half an hour - all along the fence,on either side, up & down but no luck. GPS was having trouble making a decision, so not very helpful. I couldn't figure out the tricky spot here today.
Off on another cache hunt, took a while to find a place to park which was just annoying... drove around a couple spots before backtracking to a spot close by. 150m to go and heading off in the direction which began a thick bush bash. A quick find once at GZ. A bit of an adventure but unfortunately felt more unnecessary than worth it. Still TFTC though. That's what it's all about!
Found it... Not the best one to take small kids too had to park and cross very busy roads with not very good pedestrian access... But once in the tree line ha great fun thanks
Out for an afternoons caching in the Noosa area.
Parking nearby I headed to the likely spot only to find that I had another 20m to go. Once there the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks

Seemed an odd place to hide a cache, especially a micro - there wasn't very good parking nor access to GZ. After we overcame those hurdles, cache was a quick find.

Yes, tricky to park but I managed it. A bit of a bash and apart from slipping off the big log and banging my leg pretty nicely, I found no huge problems as I recognised the cache from other experiences. Log is a bit squished but in otherwise fine condition. TFTC scouts.
Not sure of the reason why this spot was chosen. Tricky parking and no track. A nice easy find though so I left happy. TFTC.
