I lost my pen on the way to this cache and being bright purple I thought if I backtracked a little I may just find it but no luck so I photographed the cache to send to the owner for proof of find. Thanks for the cache ~Tango~
Veni, Vidi, ViciHaving finally unlocked premium, its time to catch up on logs. Caching around Perth with BFMC, we found lots of interesting caches. Thanks to all of the cache owners who have placed and maintained caches for us to find.
Hi ~Tango~, We found your 2.0 3.0 Regular Traditional Thorn in my side on 25/3/2024.Find 2903 for BFMC.The first of hopefully a couple of Jasmer holes to be filled on this trip as is often the cache the return trip was much more simple than the trip inA few days in Perth, first visit here since 2007. Caching with gcrew3220, grabbing what smilies are possible between work committment s. Thank to all the COs whose caches we found.
Another of our Old School Targets today and more great views to the city and the valley. A bit of a bash at times and final got to the right level to make the find. Having done a fair distance today and getting a bit we decided to call it quits after signing the log instead of going further up the valley. TFTC
Wow. Absolutely brilliant. Stopped here for the toilet and decided hey why not see if I can get this one. Had my work clothes on and got rained on a couple of times. Nearly turned back at the creek crossing due to the water running so fast. But persevered, got the shoes wet and soldiered on up the hill. Found the cache and then had to make my way back home. Found the small creek and followed that back to the main creek and it was all good from there. Such a great adventure TFTC
Using waypoints out of Granites log didn't take us too long to find. Lots of heavy undergrowth that we don't see much of in my home state Queensland.
Found with Dora the Explorer on my day off. This was a targetted cache as it was missing on my Jasmar grid. TFTC. A favourite point given.
This was a great walk and an amazing view. Very worth the climb. Thanks to twc for maintaining this one. Favourite point from me
I know this area quite well as we’ve come here Easter camping for the past 8 years, well and truely before I got into geocaching.
With the weather cooling down today was the day I wanted to knock off a few in the area.
This was the main one I wanted to get. I had wanted to get it this Easter but it’s a little too warm even at that time of year for me and always worried about the ever present snakes.
This is the first one I did for the day.
I’m pleased I listened to advice to wear thick pants and a thickish jacket helps too.
Feels good to finally knock this one off.
Thanks for the hide ~Tango~

After picking up the nearby new cache a continued walk up the hill saw us signing this lovely golden oldie.
TFTC The Georoaches (maintenance by tangowithcupcake) this is find #11232 for us.

We first looked at this one a few years ago the health issues prevented an assault. With advancing years I thought we would never be able to tackle it but recent visitors encouraged us to give it a go. So today we did. Knackered but happy. TFTC
We are chasing this particular cache down as it is one of the oldest caches in WA, having been placed in 2001. There is a challenge cache out GC893YT which asks cachers to find 60 of the oldest 100 in WA, of which this is one. We’ve well and truly qualified for the challenge but wanted to see how many we can get.
After completing cache a view nearby by the same CO we decided the overcast weather made today the perfect day to pickup this one too.
We followed the directions of Granett and JnJ to make this relatively easy although we did lose a bit of claret from the legs getting here.
It was great to find another original logbook from 2001 here aswell.
Thanks and RIP to the georoaches and thanks to tango for maintaining this cache. Add FP.

Bit of a trek getting here but worth the effort. Great views. As Barnzy12 mentioned, a long standing cache that I now have checked off. TFTH
Out on an overcast and cooler day compared to what we have been used to for the last week. Made even more sweeter was the slight relaxation of restrictions for todays adventure, great to cross off a few more oldies so close to home.
This one's been on my radar for ages, it's right near the top of my closest to home unfound caches list and I just haven't gotten around to tackling it yet. That was until a recent challenge cache was published that requires you to find some older caches (GC893YT), so "Thorn in my side" got moved to top of the agenda.
Ended up parking where jasenjanine did and headed down the firebreak, turned right at some point and tried to straight line it to the cache. Sort of worked with a dodgy creek crossing to contend with and some pretty thick terrain. I was glad I had the work clobber on some of those thorns were deadly.
Eventually after much huffing and puffing I was at GZ and soon spotted the container amongst the rocks. Had a look through some of the old logs and took in the views for a bit. From this vantage point I could see what might be a better route to take back to the car.
Always love finding these older caches that have stood the test of time, by my reckoning this one in the top ten oldest caches in WA, gotta have a favourite for that.
Seeing that there might be some more interest here I'll provide some waypoints that might help others. It was about a 20 minute trek each way for me, that's twenty there and twenty back.
* Park here if you don't want to use the reservoir carpark S32° 01.768 E116° 01.986

* Cross the creek here S32° 01.650 E116° 01.969 then basically straight line it to the cache.
~Tango~ I found your cache at 4:09pm, this was the 1st of 1 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5770. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

That was an adventure with lots of thorns, scratches and drama.
It was quite hard to find the place itself. Once I arrived, I straight went to the river. I managed to cross, managed to get up the hill, managed to find the cache, managed to open the box but after reading some logs, there was a loud scream...
Oh, no, there was no pen, no pencil to sign as I managed to lose all mine during the last days...
I left just two fingerprints, hopefully that will work.
It would be lovely when the next one getting there writes down our name and date....and maybe leave a pencil Thank you.
For such an old one it was worth the climb. There must have been nice little pathways a while ago.
Thank you for keeping this one alive. Box is fine. TFTC

I thought i might try and cross this one off the to-do list while i was in the area today
Parking on Hardinge Rd at the last property before the dam, i followed the firebreak down the hill beside the house. Once at the bottom, i consulted with my Sat Maps to get me across the creek and on the way up in towards the cache in an orderly fashion
I arrived at GZ without too much blood loss, and i set about finding the cache. Trusting the GPS’r turned out to be a smart move, and the treasure was quickly found without too much trouble!
I sat and read all the logs before adding my name to the ‘ancient’ book and taking some awesome photos of the views before me [^]
TFTC The Georoaches, and thanks to ~Tango~ for maintenance ... great to find such old caches still in the wild [^]

Early finish at work, so thought I'd grab some caches and headed to Bickley on a whim.
I guess "a short walk" is a relative term (lol). Fair uphill hike through bush to get here, where the cache was found without trouble. Had a flick through the old logbooks (one of which looked like it belongs in a geocaching museum) and then turned my thoughts to getting back to the car park. Standing there, it looked like it was going to be the longest 400m of my life, but it didn't turn out to be quite that bad.
Great spot and have a favourite. TFTC The Georoaches.

Walking geo-dog this morning, made it all the way to the GZ, but ran out of time before we located cache. We shall return.
Awesome to find such an old cache! I was barely 5 when this was placed! Great hike and great views, Tftc!
I have made it a bit of a mission of late to chase down some of the older caches in WA, and attempt to complete my Jasmer Challenge.
This cache is one of the ones that I needed to grab to fill in a date period.
What a stunning view. One of the best things about finding old caches is that they were all placed in fantastic locations. This is no exception. A nice stroll up the hill here, but what a view. I had a read through some of the old logbooks while I was here.
TFTC ~Tango~.

Found after a rough walk uphill and an even rougher walk down. Definitely a lot of thorns and sticks today. Even managed to startle a few kangaroos.
This was one cache that I was pleased I had told someone where I was going! If only I only had thorns in my side, but I've got them left side, right side, front and back! It was great to collect a smiley close to home and visit an old cache! Thanks Tango for keeping this one going!
There was quite a few thorns in our side getting to this one we weren't sure we had came the right way to GZ but pleased to say all is well with the cache. Thanks for showing us this area and the cache.
We enjoyed our walk around Bickley bushland today, the weather was perfect, the view spectacular, and we collected a few good caches along the way too. Thanks ~Tango~.
K.B.'s the thorn in my side; talk about hitching my star to a gung ho wagon! Really, I'm too old for such adventures these days. Although technically I didn't venture all the way to GZ in my shorts, I heard K.B. loud and clear as she made her way up the mountain and thankfully the cache was large enough for me to see as she did her usual and waved it on high. She's talking about dragging me down to Albany next school holidays so if she gets her way, hopefully we'll cross paths while we're in town. In case I didn't reply (it's obviously K.B. here doubting MDV replied to your message since he doesn't seem to access the account or GC anymore) I only walked the section of the Bib Track from Albany to Denmark so it wasn't me on the Munda Biddi this time around. Thanks for satisfying K.B.'s desire to find even the most remote of caches!
Plenty of thorns all through my clothes after this one and scratches from thorns which were so sharp they penetrated through clothes. I'm sure there's a far easier way to earn a smiley on a terrain 3 cache. Suspect you and firnsy would get along well since this is his idea of fun. Thanks Tango.
Decided to do some caching along the Bickley Brook today and the older caches in particular were in my sights. This was the first of the day. Parked in the car park and made my way down the trails to the brook where I found a place to cross without incident. From there, I wandered through fairly sparse scrub until I reached the other creek ... vegetation was a but thicker and it was all uphill from there, but I reached GZ without drama and made a quick find. Great view from GZ and plenty of wild-flowers colouring the landscape made this an enjoyable experience .
Signed the log and dropped a couple of GCA moveable caches into the cache. Thanks for the hide The Georoaches and tangowithcupcake ... it's always good to visit one of the old caches and so glad this one is still maintained.

Plenty of muggles in the park enjoying the perfect spring weather. As ' director of ops' today, I stayed with the car and geo-hounds while geo-hubby and JacobsCrew2 headed off to grab three caches. This was the last and they returned a bit puffed at the steep ascent. Wonder if the vegetation has changed much since this cache was first placed and the men seemed to think the terrain rating should have been a bit higher. Thanks Tango
Out with Richlinks picking up a few caches that has been on our hit list, we had to jump across a creek to get to this cache with a challenging little climb...TFTC
Headed out this morning with Jinta29 to grab a few puzzles.
A nice early start and hoping to be home at a decent hour for the family.
We trudged up to GZ, picking our way. Obviously skippy beat us here because we followed his trails.
On arrival at GZ, we hunted for some time, before I ended up looking from another angle and spotted the prize where we had already looked.
TFTH Georoaches. A beautiful place to be for sunrise.
Grabbed dnanx pathtag while I was there.

Kyzabra and I headed away from home early this morning to grab a few old caches in the area. There was also a couple of high difficulty, high terrain caches on the list .
Approaching this from Bickley Bush Bashing it was more bush bashing. This one took a few minutes to locate as our GPSR's were a bit jumpy. After looking from a different angle we were able to sign the log. Grrrr I had forgotten about the path tag Kyzabra. TFTC tangowithcupcake

It was my first trip to Buckley today and was blown away by the beauty and tranquility of the area. With a few hours to myself I decided to explore a little and discover some caches along the way. This was cache 4. Wow, this was really something special! A very challenging ascent from the depths of the valley and such a clever and neat hide. Found quickly but I was a bit lucky I think. Great view too. Left pathtag. Tftc
One incredible hike to get here. Now how am I gonna get out? TFTC!

Wow, you weren't joking about the long pants! I learnt that the hard way. View was worth it, though. TFTC.
Out and about with AmstradKid in the Bickley Valley, we decided to scout this one out. A Terrain rating of 2 so this should a breeze right, hmmmm..... make no mistake with this one the terrain has obviously change a little in 11 years...lol. We started out from the Bickley Car Park, and wandered down the trail to the creek, 1st decision, where to cross? Ok that accomplished, hmmm... still about 200m's to go and it is pointing up the hill.
So we decided to follow a kangaroo trail for a while until that disappeared, now to just follow the pointer to GZ, wow this is a little under rated now, it felt harder that the last caches and they were rated higher. A quick find once we got to GZ. We did come back with ticks from this one, and I found a skink in my track pants, i thought something was moving down there. It scared the proverbial out of me when I saw it.... AK thought it was hilarious.
Another old cache ticked off it is always nice to find a cache that was one of the earliest caches in WA.

With Keego doing a few unknown puzzles in the Bickley area and feeling let down on the rating of Dead mans chest I suggested doing this one. We tackled this one straight up thru the bush and reached the destination after half an hour.
We desended and came home. Keego sat down and said there was something on his leg. Out popped a skink.

After the 5 Clarke Adventurers were reduced to 1 at the GZ I was dissapointed to not find it.The 4 CA's were yelling from down the hill but it was never going to be easy with my dodgy Android Phone Gps varying constantly by about 20 metres. Looked for about 20 minutes before I headed back down.I can't wait for my new Garmin Oregon to turn up after I lost the Colorado .This phone st**ks
Also read the logs and don't wear your shorts.(As we all did). We will be back to remove this thorn.

WanderingAus wandered by, after hunting down GCG9AZ The Cash Cache By Team Gunn Parker for my 4,800th find, then hunting down GC1TNWZ Flora Carnivorous By AlliedOz / The Jokers, I noticed this one was only 500 metres or so away. The map on the gpsr and the view itself showed it wouldn't be "a walk in the park", so I checked the difficulty and terrain, and when I saw that it was 2/2 decided to tackle it, having already managed The Cash Cache which was a fairly easy 2.5/2.5.
It took some work finding a way through the bushes at the creek, and from there things got tougher, but I persevered, and when I was just 30 metres from the cache and managed to twist my ankle. Undaunted I hobbled onward and upward, then the gpsr suddenly started taking me left along the hill. It seemed like almost another 30 metres, and suddenly the gpsr went from "15 metres ahead" to "21 metres behind" - I think the heavy overcast was playing up with it, it's normally very responsive.
I retraced my steps once more, and with the gpsr still showing "12 metres ahead" I saw a likely spot, which I'd hobbled past only minutes before, and made a fairly quick and easy GAFF 0 find. The climb, the creek crossing and the thick thorn bushes make this at least a Terrain 3.5 in my book.
My 2,714th Groundspeak Find and overall find number 4802, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC, my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB and a couple of other travellers in for a visit before grabbing them back again.
The cache owner can remove the "Needs Maintenance" attribute, as tangowithcupcake has carried out all the maintenance required on behalf of the owner, and the cache is "good to go" for a long time to come.

It is amazing that there are still caches out there from the days before google maps and store bought nanos. Caches set where there were views or history but often which were not exactly easy to get to. We were determined to rescue this pioneer cache and I had plenty of time to soak in the great view while waiting for the old log books to dry. The cache has been replaced with a smaller one and the old log books are there and make for interesting reading.
I'll be uploading some pictures of some of the flowers found on the way plus a couple of others
Can future finders do their best to look after this one. Mrs Georoaches will still get any logs but is unable to get out there and do the legwork. This cache represents one couple's desire to share with everyone a place which was special to them. We thank them for it.

We walked down through the bush from Twin Views to get to this cache. Arrived at GZ and soon found the cache but it was in a woeful state as it was half full of water. I tipped it out but could do nothing about the contents. The replacement log was damp but we could write on it.
Thanks for the cache.

(Reading the last found log back home it should have been upside down but I found it up the right way without the lid on properly.) I placed it with all the lid bits on top and a rock on top to stop the water directly getting into it so it might last a bit longer.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks, the bush is a bit of a challenge to walk through, we're all cut up now. Unfortuantly the car was broken into... Keep your eyes out if you go there
came across and down from GC14q3p very nasty bush bash The lid to this cache is split so now there is water and mould in the cache. I see this problem was reported a year ago, good thing we have not had to much rain I replaced the cache upside down and above ground level, hope this keeps it dryer.
Plenty of roos in the walk to the cache. Found cache ok after trekking through to it. Cache was damp inside so emptied out again, unfortunately i took wrong knapsack so i did not have a spare bag, if someone is going to do the cache please throw in a bag to place cache in.
Well I certainly did this one the wrong way round!
I came DOWN the hill instead of up from the dam.
LOTS of prickles and thorns.
Found the cache pretty easily though. It's always great to find these old ones.
However the container is trashed and was half full of water.
I dried it out as best I could and then positioned the contents to the log wouldn't get wet in the next downpour.

The cache container has a split lid which no longer creates a seal. The cache had a lot of water in it. I cleaned it out and had to ditch a couple of items as they had gone very mouldy.
Found easily after getting there

Phew , now that's a climb ! I'm thinking this must be one of the oldest caches we have done, and it is easy to see why it has not been muggled as the chance of someone juts "passing by" are very slim.

Left Gc - getting a little closer to its goal the Nyaania Creek Ramble cache.
A very aptly named cache - even the bushes that didn't look thorny were. Thought we would find a track once we got to the cache to return back to the creek but we never did. Found a roo track we followed for a while. We enjoyed this challenging cache nonetheless. Thanks The Georoaches - Took tb
This one lives up to its name. My arms were weeping blood by the time I got back to the track (ie the one up the hill near Twin Views cache).
**WARNING** read the cache directions and attempt this one from the reservoir and not the top of the hill like we did.

Well we decided to head out to Twin Views cache when we noticed this one lay near by, so we battled our way down the hillisde beng torn to shreds, logged our visit (left Nebillo TB) and headed back up the hill, once again being torn to shreds. All in All, a hard way to find this one but worth the experience.

Sometimes when you're climbing uphill towards a cache, pushing through vegetation that doesn't want to yield, there is a little voice deep down inside that says "I hope this one is worth it". Well this one sure was! Grabbed the cache and sat down on a rock and enjoyed the great view. There was even an eagle gliding in the valley ahead of us, looking for prey. At one point he flew over and just ahead of us, only about 10 metres away - fantastic. Thanks for the cache Georoaches.
We've looked at this one a couple of times, but only when we'd done other caches and were too tired to attempt it!
Today, though, I was looking for some serious exercise, and this seemed just the ticket.
Coming from Aushiker's Bickley Walk cache, there was a disturbing amount of down happening and I think bushwalking and aerial dogfighting have this in common: you don't give up altitude unless you really have to!
There's a couple of great rock-fields that'd be really nasty places for a 'haystack' cache in a fake rock, and I saw one of the biggest roos I've encountered around here, bounding unconcernedly away with giant bounds.
So, it was down to the creek (there were two crossings, but there was only a trickle in both of them) and back up the hill to the cache. Good boots and thick cotton pants made it fairly painless and the cache was soon in hand and signed.
I could see rainfalls approaching from the coast, so that and the approaching dusk (about 1900 by this time) sent me back carwards as promptly as possible. I hadn't felt the earthquake, but there must have been one as the Scarp had tilted quite a bit since my descent and it was much steeper going up than it had been coming down...
Still, I was here for the healthy outdoor exercise and I used up a fair number of my alloted heartbeats on my fast walk back up the hill!
Well, that's an historic cache off our nearest unfound list, and a great excuse for some bush-bashing in this pleasant part of the hills.

I came in from above, straight from 'Twin Views'. The decent was a little steep in places however coming in from the bottom is just as steep. Great views over the reservoir.
Disturbed a few Kangaroos on the way down.
Took Signal Geocoin to move along.
Thanks for the cache

[Australian Branch] Easy find, but not so easy climb up that slope!!! Took stopwatch, left camera case and dropped off Signal TC. TFTH.
Went out caching with Mischief's Crew today, and we thought we'd have a nice walk around Bickley Brook Reservoir as we hadn't been there before. Enjoyed the walk at first, even crossing 2 streams was fine, Jude didn't even fall in. But it soon turned into a level 4 terrain climbing up that damn hill and bush bashing through the prickly scrub to GZ as we couldn't find any real tracks to follow. Found the cache easily at 3:50pm. TN-LN-SL. Certainly couldn't find any easier track to follow on the way back so we bush bashed back pretty much the same way we came. It was great to be able to do a 7 year old cache, so thanks for that Georoaches.
Well what can I say, Mal (3BlindEyes) and Mischief’s Crew strike again! It is good that I cannot log online whilst out at a cache. I confess this one would probably have had a few expletives in it.
We had done Old Cave just prior to this and as I have a gammy knee which gets quite sore after down hills, we decided to finish the day off with a nice easy terrain 2. What was I thinking – I should know by now that we can turn a terrain 2 in to a terrain 4 if there is bush and hills involved, without even trying!
Yes I do believe we went up the hardest, thickest, steepest way possible. So why didn’t I turn back – because I am an idiot!!!! I cannot let prickles, scrub, two creeks, rocks and everything else that attacked me beat me. No, I was on the scent of a cache and nothing was going to deter me, even the blood and pain.
I had to let Amber off the lead as there was no way I was going to stay up right and not spread eagled in the middle of a thorny bush or a creek trying to hold on to her as well. She wasn’t having any problems it seemed. Don’t worry she didn’t chase anything, she is a Mummy’s Girl and stuck by my side anyway. I think she was actually concerned about my stumbling, fumbling and swearing.
We finally get to the cache which was an easy find and then I sit and swear a little more saying no way this is a grade 2. So Mal & Gav read the logs and see that some people found a track and had an easy walk (where are these people when I need them?). So I decide to go further up the hill to see if I can spot the track, I really wanted a gentle trip down. I mean to say it is classified as a grade 2 there must be a track close by. Could I find it – NOOOOO! After giving consideration to camping up there the night but deciding I would freeze, what do we do – yes we go back down the way we came up.
Seriously, what is with us? More scratches, more pain, more blood and yep more swearing. We made it back down, put Amber back on lead and headed back to the car. Will this put me off caching – NOT A CHANCE! Will I see a hill & bush when I am tired & sore and say No, leave it for another day – NOT A CHANCE! Will I die caching – YES EVERY CHANCE!
Thanks for the cache Georoaches, the views were spectacular and it was a lovely area. I didn’t have an ounce left in me to actually have a good look around the area afterwards so we will be going back as it did look like there were some really pretty areas a lot easier to get to for a quiet wander around.
Took nothing, left lots of skin on bushes, signed log without swearing.

After following the path from the carpark I found what looked like the easiest place to cross the creek the went uphill for an easy find. TNLN. TFTH.
Nice easy find. I went from the Bickley Reservoir carpark and followed the paths/tracks as far as I could before the last stages of scrambling. Nothing too prickly. Added a few things to the cache to restock it removed some rubbish. Thanks for the find.

This walk would be alot shorter if not for all the prickly bushes that want to hurt you! That being said great place for a cache. Unless you are a kangaroo or rabbit, who seem to have made heaps of paths here and there, this is way off the beaten path. Great cache location, heaps of fun..or at least it will be when we look back on it after our scratches have healed! Once we reached the cache the orange rock was easy to find.
The cache itself had seen better days. At some point some a bit of water has gotten in. Wiped it out as best I could, replaced the snap lock bag for the log as it had gotten wet inside. Placed the lid of the cache in the old snap lock bag and put the lid back on, hopefully that will just add an extra layer of waterproofing (although I couldn't really see where water may have gotten in). Placed the cache back where it belongs but on a bit of an angle so hopefully water won't pool on top if we get a bit of rain over winter.
Took the Globe Theatre Geocoin and was scratched up as much going down as coming up. If only I were a rabbit I would be fine!

An easy find, and a nice walk to get there. My pants got saturated due to the remaining water from the recent rains.

Did this to get "John Howard" to do "John Howard". Only read the first part of the notes which make it sound like a doddle ... read the full notes! Not difficult really but not a "pleasant stroll"!!
Finally decided to do this one as I thought that if I could do Jurassic Jaunt this one would be a cinch. I took it easy going up the hill and as I zig zagged I kept disturbing a poor roo that was trying to have a sleep. It took me a bit to home in on GZ but I got there. The cache container is starting to show it's age but it was dry even with all this rain. That poor roo was glad to see the last of me as I disturbed it again going back down the hill. At least the prickles weren't parrot bush.

Thorns in my side ... and in my legs ... and in my arms ... and in my hands ... and just everywhere . We took perhaps the hardest route to this one, but while standing above the cache was able to survey a slightly better way to return to the carpark we could see in the distance.
The cache has suffered somewhat from not being waterproof. TNLN. Cheers and TFTC Georoaches. This was to be our last WA cache before returning to SA, after a wonderful holiday back here with the family and friends. I'm really going to miss the freeways and highways .

A tougher proposition than the others I've done today, although not as cryptic as The Georoaches multi over the hill as the coordinates here are spot on. It's a tougher climb than the geocache across the valley too, I had to wait a minute or 2 to get my breath back before writing the log. I'm glad I left the kidz at the carpark to play on the kidz equipment, they'd have cracked it getting to this one LOL. TFTH
TN LN (left it all at the other cash!)
Plastic bag was quite visible so I've found another red/orange rock and placed it in front to hide the cache more.

I followed a few of the natural animal tracks and then made a direct approach to the top amd found cache nice and easy. TNLN Thanks for the great view
ah, after a few days of caching in this area, our legs are scratched and bleeding.
Found on second visit. First time I was on the wrong side of the stream and ran out of time. I enjoyed this cache and the co-ordinates were spot on again. Found at 4.30 pm and had difficulty walking into the sun, coming back was good and it was downhill! This was the best for me so far (found eight).

Heeded previous logs re: THORNS, and came prepared with long pants and so had no real problems on the way to the cache.
Once there and with a good view I realised I could have approached a less laborious way than I had and with a little less bush bashing.
Cache container appeared sealed well but contents damp (including log books) and some of them moldy.
Rescued latest cache addition (Ernie) before he began to suffer as well.

Left: Boot Laces (2pr) and Safety Pins (sealed in little bags for protection so they shouldn't suffer too much.

This was one prickly experience with no real defined track to GZ we had to pick our way through the thorns and sleeping roo's. Found easily enough although we didn't see the orange triangle rock around the location.

A good walk through the bush. We did get a few thorns in our sides but nothing like the previous dramas of Oznaturist.
Thanks GeoRoaches.

Wow this one caused a stir, more later. This was my 4th for the morning and it appeared that all I had been doing was running up and down hills. As I was pulling into the carpark I noticed a bus from an old folks home off loading people for a picnic, I had a quick look at the GPS got a bearing and distance and lined it up with the compass. I like to if possible navigate by compass and see how close I get. Picked out the outcrop and set off. Thorns were a bit of a pain but found cache quickly. Only used the GPS for the last 20m or so. Sat for a while and took in the view b4 setting off on a reverse course to the car. Again bashed through some quite sharp thorns. As I approached the carpark I realised the track I was on was going to just skirt past so I ducked through some small bushes and into the middle of a tea party. At this point one of the women start screeming to someone on the bus, who races over and offers to help me to a seat and get the first aid kit. Everyone was running around wildly. I then realised that what I thought was sweat was in fact blood running down the side of my face. Big scratch from a thorn. I thought I may have to practice some CPR on a few of them. Eventially all calmed down and my red face went back to normal I was treated to a nice coffee and cake.

Geokid loves cache hunting and navigates as well. He leaded us all the way up there and back. It was long thorny walking up there. He found it and a bottle of liquor as well. Offered me to drink it because he thought I would need it (It would be lovely if it was new one and unopened) TNLNSL. Thanks for superb view and exercise.
Second cache for the day. I don't know if there is an easy way to get to this one but this was the hardest I've done so far. The family was away in Albany so I spent the day doing some bushwacking.
Crossing the creek was easy (after eventually finding a suitable spot), climbing the hill wasn't too bad (got the blood flowing and sweat working) but the title is correct ****THORNS****
The kangaroos there seemed to have no trouble at all bounding over the prickles.
This is a lovely area to sit, enjoy the peace and quiet and try to work out how to get back.

The Cache Rangers and Marty came here from Old Cave to see which view was the best. The view from here is mostly bushland. The view from Old Cave is the tops of houses, Suburbia, this one wins, trees and greenery wins out over Old Cave. It's a tough hike to the cache. TN Left: Wine glass charms. Thanks for the great view and the fun find.
My batteries were very low, causing the gps to give conflicting directions, so I replaced them and found the cache almost straight away. I don't know what everyone is on about. There's no thorns on the way up or down. You must all be girls. TN-LN. Must go now - I have to get all of these scratches attended to.
Finished with our sunseeking days at the beach (for now) and with the change in weather decided to notch up some more geocaches...what a day to start! Thought we'd woken up to a typical Yorkshire morning with the grey skies and then when the rain came down it really felt like home!!
Tough pommies that we are though, we decided that the weather would not beat us and off we went...must admit that it is probably more worthy of a three star terrain. Took a little while to find which Derek did single handedly whilst I suppervised moaning kids[:(!]!! Anyway we were not beaten, haha!

Found it! Now this is real geocaching. A long walk up a hill, through 'OWWCHIEBUSHES', and just going places people just don't go.
Thanks for the exercise, really needed it. Found cache in good condition. Didn't drink the liquor behind it though. Perhaps we should have had some, because on the way back wot's GPSR fell out of his pocket!! We had to backtrack all the way back up the hill to the cache, then find the exact path we took down again. Luckily we found it, although wot was having nice thoughts about having to buy a new colour GPSR....

Found cache... using newly acquired GPS skills - loved the view, challenging walk for some. Took keyring - left toy car, power ranger and card. 11:00 (#50)
1700: Aptly named site - mind you, alot of our bush is lacking this kind of vegetation that helps keep it in a healthy state.
Great view. The cache isn't in a good state with most of the contents being mouldy. I drained the water (almost an inch worth) cleaned out what I could and returned it to its resting place (upside down - hoping that any future rain won't fill it as quickly). If you get the chance, let it dry out when you visit next - today wasn't the ideal day with the prospect of rain.
Took nothing and left my calling card.
Cheers...
