Visited the GZ with Ozvixen who has previously found the cache, she said it wasnt there anymore!
DNF for me also, could someone check to see if it is still there, as it has not been foubd in a while. [xx(]
3rd DNF for this cache. It was 4am, so maybe my eyes weren't tuned in. I searched high and low, but just couldn't find it, even with the hint. Maybe time for a check by CO.
Uh, four dudes trolling this one, couldn't find it. Either we suck, or it's not here anymore. Bollocks!
There was a guy looking over the canon when we got there, but then he moved on to the next, I think to get away from us. After that, it was found in a minute or two. Thanks
Out of the ten or so that we found today, this was my only find.Once there, here weren't too many places it could be. A nice easy find with the clue to help. TFTC
Found this one after a quick feel around or was it?
Had Geo family with me for this find after a nice couple of days stay down here.

After quick search did not find. Difficult with lots of muggles around. Moved onto continental muggles hwy
Finally construction fencing removed to once again allow access to the general area. A few muggles around as a beautiful day out but managed a quick retrieval without too much suspicion. Actual GZ found not by feel as clues suggest so replaced cache few centimetres further out of sight as intended.
TFTC! Loggin alot today, so sorry theres no spcific message about the cache, but I really do enjoy every cache I find
Went on a caching road trip with GeoJackCo, was raining when we got there so kind of gave up..was looking for somwhere niced to have lunch when I found myself driving past...and there was plenty of parking. Ended up shoving the camera in the holes and taking pics instead of sticking my arm in lol...it worked! Took a little gem and left (from memory) either a butterfly eraser or a smiley badge...TFTC!
Had some time to kill in the gong so went for a bit of a search. Found this one easily enough, interesting spot, fairly empty of muggles Thanks for the hunt.
Not an easy find by any means, very well hidden. Not too many muggles, so I don't think I looked suspicious!

The wife and I had managed a kid free night away, so were enjoying the sunshine of the Wollongong foreshore today. We took the low road to Stuart Park heading north, but came back the high to grab this cache.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache Woodyson.

Our seventeenth cache on a trek from Geelong to Wollongong. We circled a few times, climbed up, then down, investigated alternatives, tried again and then found it! Left the cacher geocoin. TNSL. TFTC!
No pen will have to come back to sign. Clever cache, almost went nuts before the 'duh' moment.
Last time I was here there was temporary fencing up while work was being carried out. This area looks fantastic now. Geo-wife found this one and then we had a closer look at the restored fortifications. Thanks.
Found it @ approx. 13:00
I too encountered the "workmen", but found a way in, a quick search, and away.
Awesome piece of history, great to see that it has been saved.

Reperio at 1530. Was looking forward to having another crack at this one as on a previous attempt there were too many people around to avoid suspicion. Today though, I was surprised to find the barricades placed all around preventing access, but as I wandered past, I spotted a familiar face met at the Wagga Wagga Mega Event a few months ago, and soon joined him on the hunt. It wasn't long before the cache was found, which was a welcome relief.
This is a fantastic display of Wollongong's history. Always enjoy stopping by here.

Jumped the fence and had the cannon all to myself until I heard my name called out from the street. "Marcus Vitruvius" was the cacher and we both searched and the cache was eventually found. TNSLLN

After completeing 2 other caches befor 545am thought we could do this one as well. Ace7 and i jumped the construction barricades and were able to have an uninterupted search. I came up with the find. Thanks for helping us make an early morning adventure and thanks for the cache Woodyson.

Currently legally unfindable but when one uses the 'muggle highway' then walks up the blocked footpath it's not to hard signed the log and ran
The Russians were coming, or the French, or the Spanish, or the....nothing like a bit of paranoia to get something done around her, well at least many years ago that is..

My second visit to a gun battery today although this one pre-dates the first by quite some time. I had a hunch on where this one might be and sure enough I had it in hand quickly. Thanks for sharing this location with us.
This was #8 of 9 for the day walking the Wollongong area after arriving by train from SYD. TFTC!!
Another good hide. Thanks for the fun and all the caches. One more multi to search for then we're searching for a pub. TFTC
This was good one too.
We walked from Arms Reach in the hot weather with our training overalls on. It was yucky. But TCTF:)

Had to come back for this...tried a few days ago and it started raining, kept trying but had to give up after the rain got to my underwear
11am. Mugglewife of friend did bump her head looking for this.
Unusual place to have cannons.

Wonder who the cannons were meant to keep out - the French, the Russians? Whoever it was, they worked. Didn't hit my head, though if I had I wouldn't have felt anything - the advantage of having a thick skull! TFTC
Found GZ fairly quickly (how many places could it be here) now to find the cache. Read logs and hint so start to explore by hand, no luck. OK could be further afield at GZ so explore up to the elbow, still no luck.
OK up to the arm pits, still no luck. Bring out the old torch and phone trick, and located it. So armpits and shoulders required to retrieve this fallen icon to sign the log and replace in the hide.
Thanks for the bringing us here to this lovely spot. TFTH

Found this cache tonight when no-one else was around. I love this cache, nice view. TFTC.
Arriving at The 'Gong a few minutes early, we had time for a quick stop by to grab this cache before the Footy Season Flash Event.
Nice Hide & a very impressive set of canons and bunkers here at GZ.
A nice spot to stop - we pretty much had the place to oursleves this morning,

Wasn't where I expected it but after using my camera phone with great success at a nearby cache, the same trick worked here. Tbone again did the retrieval job.

We were down this way visiting Marco's parents so decided to take them for a quick bit of caching. They knew the history of these cannons and were keen to help us find the cache, until they realised they had to put their fingers into unseen places! Marco is the champion of finding caches hidden on guns so he once again came up trumps and had the cache in hand fairly quickly. TNLNSL TFTC
Early morning find before going for a paddle, There are only so many places to look.
We like to get a variety of Caches on each of our trips and this one was one of our Caches in Australia. Thanks. We 'Found' about 60 Caches that we Logged on our almost 2 week trip to New Zealand and Australia. We picked some of the more interesting and demanding Caches including Puzzles and Letterbox Hybrids plus 12 Earthcaches and enjoyed every cache that we tried.
A few years ago on a trip to Australia, we made a Pelagic Birding Trip out of Wollongong and aided in the banding of Wandering Albatrosses. Pretty interesting handling those marvelous birds!
Thanks to all the Cachers that set the Caches that we found (And didn't 'Find'!!). Photos will be added to the Logs after everything gets accounted for, OK?
Cache On and CITO as you Cache,
ORNITH travelling with Queens Blessing (Wife) from Canby, Oregon, USA -- very near the home of the very 1st Cache ever set that is commemorated by GCGV0P and within 25 miles of 3 of the 4 Oldest Surviving Caches in the World (GC12, GC16 & GC17)!

ORNITH and I enjoyed a great vacation together, traveling to New Zealand and Australia for fifteen days, and what a great time we had! As we normally do, we chose interesting caches and quite a few that involved hiking (aka "bushwacking" or "tramping") , rather than racking up a high number of caches. We found the oldest cache in Australia and the first Earthcache ever set! I was visited by a leach and we were both attacked by some black and white crows. We enjoyed rain, sunshine, empty roads, traffic jams, vegemite and meat pies. Our fancy lime-green rental car attracted quite a bit of attention, including a stop by a police officer who mistook ORNITH for another type of person........Oh, so many fun memories!
ORNITH and I enjoyed walking about town a bit today, although the spring weather was predicatable unpredictable. This was a nice little park. Thank you for setting a cache here.

Found easily on a cold, windy, cloudy, rainy day, with friends Luke and Caroline from the UK.
No muggles about today.
I think Luke(10) might be bugging his mum for a gpsr until he gets one now.
Took badge, left American quarter dollar.

Beautiful day for caching and this was the first on our list today, though it was the only one we actually found. Not too difficult but be careful poking and prodding as we did encounter some broken glass
Found this one today quite easily and the muggles were non existent today. What a great area and it's great that it's open to have a look around.

Found this one with the geofamily. In fact they were upset with SixStars as his nose for the hunt was keener and thwarted their efforts to find it first.

Found this one with dificulty. What a loverly spot and there were six beaut targets sitting out in the bay, roads, whatever. Funy I dont remember these guns as I must have walked past them a few times when I was a kid about 65 years ago. We used to come camping at the campground just up the road and would go to the shop in town to get bananas. A real treat as they were just not available in the western town where we lived. We were a family of 5 and it was a two day drive to get here in a T model Ford . So mutch for the good old days.
This one was nice and close after doing the mothers day classic in stuart park. Those guns are really big and a nice place to hide a little cache wich we found after a little looking,a very interesting place from our past to see.....TFTC....
