Logs
Went for a lunchtime walk and found this one very quickly. Needs new log book. Container got some water in it so all soggy.
This cache would fill another hole in our Ausmer, so we quickly added it to our list for our Canberra GeoBash trip. Having hiked Black Mountain this morning, I nearly changed my mind when I realised we needed to walk 500m, practically all uphill We did it, and Im so glad we did. A kangaroo was minding GZ, but very nicely moved so we could retrieve the cache and sign the log. Thanks for bringing us to this location today herca. Beautiful views.
Great walk with nice views, found a kangaroo guarding the cache! Log is full and a bit wet, TFTC!!!
Cache 10700 on 30 Sep 2023. After finding a nearby multi with others, SpecimenX and I returned to our starting point and picked up a few more caches in the area. A quick find at GZ, no cache guardians for this cache! Thanks herca for the cache and the fun!
Found on the stroll around the hill with AngelG27. Quick find at GZ and thankfully, no danger noodle cache guardians near GZ (that we saw at least!) like the previous find! Thanks for the hide, herca
Great idea for a cache, and this brought me to a hill Ive never climbed before. If I may mention a charityThe Terry Campese Foundation does brilliant work with underprivileged children, and teenagers looking to carve their own path into adulthood. Every year they run a mentoring program for successful applicants which culminates in a life changing trek such as the Kokoda Track, or the Larapinta Trail. The charity itself has hit new fundraising heights in recent years, since the inaugural Special Forces Challenge at the end of the 21/22 summer. More than half a million dollars have been raised in the events first two years, and the upcoming recruits, recently announced, are aiming to raise more than the first two years combined.Quick find at ground zero, cache was rather exposed so I gave it a bit of protection after signing the log. Thanks!
Paper waterlogged so photo attached as evidence. Amazing to see how long this log has been down with the maturity of standing trees around it. Love seeing some slow natural resource recovery in action - TFTC!
#753 Stopped off here with Turtle whilst walking up the hill to pick up a couple of caches. A very rocky outcrop on this part of the mountain! Noticed a likely spot once arriving at GZ and had soon made the find. Thanks for placing the cache Herca and keeping it maintained over the years, cheers
#2659 Heading up the hill to pick up a Multi for DeadThief which I had found previously. Made a diversion on the way for a nice quick find here. Thanks herca for placing this cache.
Everyone was saying it’s an easy find, but me and my friends couldn’t find it
Cache was sitting out on the log under the tree. Log also getting full but signed and hid back away.
It’s been lovely coming up here to see the view which is fabulous. And a trig to boot.

Quick find once I got to the top of the hill. Log is at the end of the last page but lots of room on earlier pages - one of which I signed. Tftc
Nice quick find at one of my favourite hills. Great views. Cache a bit damp and a few dodgy swaps. The log is full.

TFTC Been eying off some caches in my local area and now I have a new TOTT I can go further afield quicker. This was a nice easy find through long grass!
Grateful thanks to CO for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.

We traipsed through the knee high grass in the dark but managed to find our first geocache!
Trudged up the hill to find this one. It was sitting out on the open, so I tucked it back as per the hint and covered it with some bark. Lyons was my first 'Canberra suburb' but I haven't been up here for years! Lots of good hidey holes around the hill, it's a wonder there aren't more caches... Thanks herca
Lovely day for some social distancing up a hill with dog leading the way. Easy enough find, thanks. I'll have to come back for the one around the othet side as I ran out of time looking for it.
Thanks . We left something small for the kids. Got caught in the rain though, so rushing back down the hill. Eek!
Not sure I haven't found this before, but in the area I went to check it out anyway.
Thanks for the cache!

#5859 Dropped by after a nearby lunchtime run. Need these ones for my 3-2-1 challenge. Nice easy find on a very hot and smokey day.
Thanks herca
Thanks herca

On a stunning Canberra winter day, I'm trying to claim caches in my last tjree suburbs for the maping challenge. Hoping that this ticks off Lyons. Quickly found. TFTC.
Interesting to see how the top 10 countries by HDI in 2006 that were listed when this cache was published have changed!
Some huge jumps including:
Germany from #21 to #5
Hong Kong from #22 to #7
Singapore from #26 to #9
Japan has probably the most notable fall from #7 to #19!
Oh and thanks for the cache too Was a good hide and still in good condition, logbook needs replacing pretty badly though!

What a wonderful location. Thanks for the cache and for getting us out of the house and into the outdoors. Kids found the cache in no time.
Out for a morning of caching to collect those still waiting for a find. Lately there has been a lot come out and I still had some remaining saved for my daily I no longer need since my streak made my target so off to find them. I did try taking the direct approach across to this one but a bit of an obstacle and backtracked to the easier and preference of a slightly longer one that was safer. Again very friendly and curious magpies here. Thanks for the cache.
I paid a heavy price for finding this one, I came from the wrong direction and tore a gash in my leg... but even worse, I ripped my favourite shirt. My leg will heal, the shirt won't. These Lyons caches have been annoying me for a while as they are close to my home, but not so easy to get to... but the day had to come when I finally pulled the finger out and dragged myself up here... and today was that day.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

After approaching the last cache via the steepest possible route, I was glad that the topography was a little more forgiving on approach to this one.
A nice easy find. Chatted to some kangaroos and watered some plants en route back to the car.
TFTC, herca

After picking up a few multis I'd run out of time for yesterday, I then focused on finding some of the remaining 'urban' traditional caches. This one was all on its lonesome, but there was a nearby eathcache and a solved puzzle to collect as well from the same parking spot. A steady walk to avoid getting too hot and sweaty and I was soon at GZ. Cache quickly found. TFTC.
