OCW PelDroedGwin Exploring Carnarvon for a few days. A nice view of the remains of the jetty Tftc
We found your cache today 17 October 2024 2:22pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC WanderingAus
Thanks WanderingAus for the cache. Its #2115 for us. We found your cache on Monday 7 October 2024. Quick grab today. Glad the wasps have vacated!
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine we have seen Edith Falls, Kunnurra and Bungles Bungle. Finally we cross the Pentecost-river to enter the Gibb RiverRoad . A lot to see like Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now return on the sealed road again . Further over Derby, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Karijini NP, Exmouth and now down the coast to Perth .After Coral Bay we headed further on the road and stopped for this one .Luckily a quick find . Another nice quick find.Oh, no! I've become that person who says "quick", rubbing salt into the struggles of others. It's okay, I have plenty of DNFs, it feels good to find a high ratio of attempted caches on a good day.TFTC!
Found by Mr S. Sadly we didn't get to go to the museum as it was closed as it was late in the day. Lovely view towards the setting sun. TFTC
Quick park and grab here unfortunately the sun had set so no view of the jetty. Tftc
On our travels we found ourselves in Carnarvon and took the opportunity to grab a few caches, this was a nice quick drive bye with a great view, thanks for bringing us here
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia for four or five weeks. Camped out along Milinya-Exmouth Road before heading southward to spend most of the day around Carnarvon and on to our next campsite somewhere near Overlander Roadhouse, finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the cache WanderingAus!
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. Last night we camped south of Coral Bay and this morning we continued traveling south towards Carnarvon and beyond. The cache was a quick find and was in good condition. Thanks WanderingAus for the cache.
A quick find while killing time before I can check in to my accomodation.Log and container lid is missing.I added a sheet of paper in a ziplock bag.TFTC
Cool spot and cache but FYI log and top are missing. Needs some maintenance.
WA road trip day ? Heading south then west and north again, seems to go the wrong way..
Went to the moon on the way and ended up in shark bay.

Getting the picture! The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! In Carnarvon for a few days with plenty of time to explore. Have travelled WEST from home base 4200 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure to visit.
Another one found with a familiar looking logbook and a familiar name in it.
Brad and Janet are on another epic journey. This time it involves many of Len Beadell’s 6500km of roads including the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sur, the Heather, the Neale, the Gun Barrel Highway, the Gary, the Talawana Track, the Gary Junction Rd and more.
And of course a 2 day visit to Maralinga which Len also located, surveyed and largely built as he had with Woomera and Emu. An amazing man.
If you don’t know of him he wrote some wonderful books. Laconic with a dry sense of wit, they are an excellent read. They are also available as audiobooks as is a recording of his brilliant after dinner talk one evening in Shepparton. Worth a listen.
And now the Moon Tours trip is over we are heading back to Adelaide via whichever way takes our fancy after a few days rest and repair in Karratha. Almost certainly down the WA Coast before heading to Hyden and the land of the Salmon Gums.

Walked out to the beach and back, and saw the old jetty here. Quick find and off for further exploration. TFTC
Added a new log book here.
Heading north for one mintue of moon shadow. This is one of stops on a long journey.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Found the cache. Such a beautiful location, glad I made my friend bring me to Babbage Island. May have put 15th instead of 16th. Signed log as Flea.
Does anyone know what this thing is in the picture? I'm guessing a nest of some kind. Message me with the answer if you know it!

I'm winding my way up to Exmouth for the eclipse Last night I camped at Goodies just north of Gero, and today it's an overnight camp in Carnarvon. I've picked up a few caches to break up the drive, and I have a trio here in Carnarvon to grab before a pub rendezvous for dinner with friends making their own way up from Perth. Such a shame the Jetty is now closed, would have loved to take a walk to the end. Lots of interesting info in the jetty precinct, and a good spot here to view the jetty. Cache was a very quick find while driving past. All ok here today - TFTC
Thanks for the hide, meant to get this one for a while finally got the caching bug again! Tfth with justplainkate
Brilliant search, not too hard but still a good challenge, enjoyed the view and the walk front the jetty to the geocache. Good little cache, good fun thank you and good luck to the next person.
This is day 5 of my Exmouth trip and today I'm heading from Denham/Monkey Mia to Carnarvon ! On a windy, but beautiful day I'm collecting many caches on my way north - such as several Traditionals and 1 Earthcache . Thanks for giving me so many opportunities to pause my long journey..... Last one before checking in [:o)].

Not looking good here. A D1T1.5 should not need experienced cachers to find it.
Continuous Finds, but now continuous DNFs.
This cache is supposed to be maintained by Team Pathfinder, which was the condition specified to get it published.
It sounds like it's in a location that is now not allowed, so I think it should be disabled until it can be checked.

.Have a few few more finds than previous searchers but had no joy either - even with the photo. Strongly suggest this is MIA.
Couldn't find it in the obvious spot, even with the street view photo that was posted a few days ago.
This cache has been NOT FOUND by four cachers with a combined total of 294 Finds.
One of those, with the impressive Grand Total of FIVE FINDS, posted "Everything is grown tall and green around the spot. Could not find it.".
I don't know where he was looking, because the POWER POLES don't have much grass around them, as can be seen in this image.
Geocaching HQ thinks I need to Maintain this cache, but I won't be there for nearly a year, which is probably not considered "within a reasonable amount of time".
I will await an email from the Voluntary Reviewer before taking what will almost certainly be ARCHIVAL ACTION, unless a Geocacher with eyes and a decent gpsr Finds It first.

No sign of the container. We believe we were looking in the right spot but nothing here
Found cache container with no lid and missing log book. Looked around nearby for logbook but no sign.
(In this wind the log book is probably in Broome!) Replaced cache container with same type and heavy duty attachments for stronger durability. Signed new logbook and returned cache to location found. TFTC
