Find # 126771/9/2024 Planned a walk up Mt Majura this afternoon with Stinjali who has not cached in a long time since his kids were little. He certainly hadnt lost the nack of zeroing in on GZ of the new letterboxes that have been dropped in these parts since I was up here last.Windy as all heck but nevertheless a warm spring day and enjoying the sunshine All finds very straightforward here today, and caches in good condition. Thanks Fore! for Author's Fore!word
Day 2/2 of UNNs big geocaching weekend. Yay! My first regular sized cache! Which is a bit sad when you think about it.
Made a quick find on a lovely wander on the Mt Majura trails this morning.

#2164 Skirting the base of Majura collecting some multi waypoint data, ducked off the trail to pick up this cache. Spotted the likely spot on approach and was rewarded with a well maintained cache. Cheers Fore!
TFTC. Nice quick find. I'm not much of a writer but I did follow the instructions and write something.
This cache actually took quite a long time to find and I was stumbling around for 10 minutes. Eventually used common sense and uncovered the massive cache! This cache should actually be a 'large'. The hiding spot is also great. TFTC Fore! Giving this one a favourite!!
Found with Batz7 after schol pickups. We had attempted this 2 weeks ago but retreated due to rain. Today was lovely blue skies so we tried again. It was a lovely walk up Mt Majura. Quickly signed and then back to the car. TFTC Fore!
Wicked hiding spot, had us looking for way too long. The story is going amazing so far️️
Beautiful day. Felt compelled to restart the story in the log - hopefully the next finder can carve something beautiful from the roughly hewn stone of prose. Cheers!
Was pretty obvious but beautiful surroundings and cool hiding spot. I really liked the box. It was pretty cool
Fore!’s geocaching secretary reporting for duty: cache replaced...nothing could be salvaged from the original container...it’s no longer a bucket but still big enough for trade/travel items...I will need to return with a bigger book so the story can continue...
Was looking fore!word to writing a bit of story for this cache as I think it is a brilliant idea and reminds me of when I began caching in 2005 when we wrote out the log in the cache rather then just out tag and date. Unfortunately the cache was flooded... And everything inside has been saturated. Definitely needs a new book and some love. I think the lid of the cache was also broken. I might come back sometime to write my bit once maintenance is done. TFTC
Needs maintenance desperately, log is saturated and the lid of the cache is possibly broken.
Fore!'s geocaching secretary reporting for duty: thanks for the Needs Maintenance log...oh wait...there wasn't one...I will endeavour to fix this one on the weekend...
Finders postscript - great to find a large cache container! OCW MA, BM, TB, JM, TH & SB14. ?? TFTC Fore!
With my original plans for the long weekend being cancelled, I decided on taking a look at Geo-events that were around. I discovered a nearbyish CITO in Canberra. I had a bit of a catch up with people while also meeting lots of others for the first time. Nice to meet/re-meet you all. After attending the event a group of us took a run around the area collecting caches that have been on the solved plie for quite some time plus a few lone caches that were nearby. Most of these caches were the newish Harry Potter mystery caches. Even though I don’t like HP, I do enjoy caching. After we went our separate ways I took the opportunity to take quick snapshots for the GCA ‘Watson Testline Trig-points’. That gave me an extra 11 finds added to my GCA finds total. Next it was time for some grub before leaving Canberra. Earlier in the day I received a couple of emails telling me of some new caches one of which was on my way home in Binalong a quick stop off here and a FTF was made. Just as I was getting into my car someone else pulled up behind me and I met TheTreeWhisperer for the first time. Nice to meet you. After getting home, I had some dinner and ask Swimmagurl if she would like to join me to attempt a FTF out the Wagga road. She agreed to come and when we arrived at GZ we made a quick find. The only question remained was it a joint FTF? When opening the logbook we found we were the FTF. Now time to head home again. TB visit on all caches and on logbooks/sheets, I signed as 24/1 JM, 24/1 JohnoM or 24/1 JohnoMawbs depending on the size. Most caches were quick finds and a great day was had by all. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today for placing them so I and others can enjoy. TFTC’s, TFTTP’s and FP given

Out chasing Harry Potter we passed this on the way out. The youngest member of our group did the scribing for this small group of treasure seekers. Love a large in the bush. TFTC
Great idea for a cache in a beautiful location. The lid is starting to deteriorate. TFTH
Great to find one of this size. Still haven’t cracked double figures for large yet. This was number 9. Enjoyed reading and contributing a line to the story too. Tftc.
We left home super early this morning with Wilbert67. Today’s target is to grab some solved puzzles, Trades and some multis as well.
The day is turning out to be perfect weather for walking.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.

Did a massive effort today together with J+J.AU to clear mt Majura and mt Ainslie. Lots of walking up and down and not many tracks here and there. Great weather and good company. Thanks for the cache placement.

Another day, another trek up Mt Majura, though with a different starting spot than last few times.... and I admit I didn't go 'all the way' to the top this time, but got to within about 150m.
I had done most/all (please let it be all) of the hides on the south and west of the trig, today was to get the ones mainly to the north/northwest.... including the mega meander.
There was a delightful chill to the air but not a breath of wind and a bright blue sky... perfect for caching.
I do like a large... who doesn't. I stupidly got to GZ and couldnt see it and wandered all around for 5 minutes before coming back... the tree looks so solid from nearly all angles, and I saw all of them, just missed the angle that counts.

Found with my bf on a dusky evening. The trackable listed on the cache wasnt inside though. Didn't have time to write a story due to the fading light
What a great spot and a fab cache! Managed to write my bit of the story before the storm hit!
I headed off early for the Monday evening Omnia walk to Mount Majura which gave me three hours in which to seek out geocaches in that area that I hadn’t previously found, collecting 13 in all. I reckon that I explored most of the mountain and I came to appreciate the casuarina groves, the numerous kurrajong trees and the many fine views over the airport, North Canberra and Gungahlin.
This cache was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot close to the coordinates, in fact the container could be seen from many metres away. I added my contribution to Ella’s story, adding to her adventures on the moon. Thank you Fore! for installing this delightful cache.

Well that was big! The biggest cache Ive seen in a long time and such a perfect hidey hole. An enjoyable place to sit and read the unfolding story. You all have much more imagination that I do. But we now have a starpossum to guide the story to the moon.
Thanks for the cache.
Left a hefty travel bug as well.

Appropriate to do this after the Harry Potter mystery cache! NNF Over for another year now heading back to Vic TFTC and story time out!
A lazy Sunday when I couldn't tolerate being inside all the day. I spent the day waiting for the wild winds to ease and the rain to go away, before finally seizing an afternoon opportunity to head to the lower slopes of Mt Majura. I found eight caches - most of them before getting wet!
Terrific to find such a sizeable container here. I added a bit to the fascinating story - always nice to have a bit of activity to go with your find. All worth a favourite point, I reckon. TFTC

I like a good sized cache. I hate nanos. I give it a favourite because I appreciate the difficulty of finding a spot for one this size.
I also like that although the A.C.T. is full of parks with excellent playground fittings, the reserves all seem to have kid-made cubby houses/forts/shelters. There was a good one near to this cache. See my photo.

Well, that was a surprise. It has been the theme of my day that I should read about these caches before I come to them. I love the idea of this and it is working well. I’m not the best story teller, but I added to it for the fun of joining in. I read a few others, who are naturals at it and it would be great to be able to read the whole thing. The bottom of the cache had water in it so if the next visitor could perhaps bring a large plastic bag to put the log in to keep it safe that would be nice. Also I didn’t read the hint until I got home to type up my log and so placed the cache back as I found it. However after reading the hint the hide is not the way it was intended I think?? Tftc!!!
A bit of a warm day but not so bad with the afternoon storm approaching and the change of weather trying to blow through as I walked through the area for a few caches. Hadn't read the details before finding the cache but a bit of a read of the cache once there had me settling down to read the whole story so far, some good story tellers out there! Thanks for the cache Fore, a favourite for me.
Our first find on the mountain today. Nice and cool and no rain (yet!). Enjoyed reading some of the story and added a little more to the adventure. Nice idea, wish I had had time to read the whole story thus far. SL TFTC Fore!

Trodectus and I found this cache on the ground in plain sight, but in good order.
(not how it was supposed to be!)
We enjoyed the area and each of us added a little to Ella's story.
The cache was replaced as per the clue.
Thanks Fore! The Cache [^][^][^]

Found with Decrypter. We were in the area for a walk and decided to go for this one. Easily found once at GZ. TFTC
Was nearing the end of the local Meander and hoping not to get caught by threatening rain. I reckon I must have run past five caches on my way, so figured I should at least get this.
I signed and opted not to add Fore!words, but six. Something like "Rain is coming. Got to go." Maybe when I pick up those other caches, I will return and add to the story - I enjoy that sort of thing. Great idea.

A great day to be outside, wandering around Mt Majura. Let's find us some caches. Suspended? TNLNSL TFTC
Awesome day for a walk. We stocked it up with whatever swaps we had because it was a little empty. Enjoyable cache, thanks.
What a great idea and quiet place for writing. I visited by an early sub-zero morning, mind as frozen as the surroundings... TFTC!
You could go for a swim in this cache:-) And the large wood obscuring it was massive as well.
Nothing but big here folks.

I headed out after an event at EPIC to get a few caches before heading to a friend's place. This cache was not too far away, so I stopped by for a look. I had had this one on my radar for a couple of weeks due to needing more Large caches to qualify for the Rev Heads Unite challenge cache and this one ended up being the last one I needed.
After adding to the story, I traded trackables with the one in the cache.
