Found a perfect place with the indent of where a cache may be but nothing there or everywhere else we searched today unfortunately. Interesting bit of history here.
After some huinting with Granville86a we located GC, signed log and returned to car and spotted the oven, cool!

Found on my way back to Oamaru. Long way and the weather changed. From a nice and sunny day it become a rainy and cold afternoon.

Headed out with Sharkiefan for an epic 2 days of super crazy caching in Oamaru! Needed to get a caching fix since within Chch I'm only going for one a day to be able to continue my streak as long as possible! We found a total of 78 caches! Hehe
Some people coming past here, lots of dog walkers! That seems to be the thing to do in this neck of the woods! And some very pretty dogs too
A nice and easy find once we were at the right one... just took a little to be able to find the right one, and searched like 3 others first! Haha. But it did end up being in the most obvious of the lot...
TFTC!!

Miss Geckoh heard rustling in the tree nearby and started to head towards it to investigate but decided that possibly wasn't the smartest move and headed back to the cache which she had in hand as soon as she scaled the fence. TFTC

Heading north towards home after a great weekend at NZ's first MEGA in Dunedin. Put faces to many names - and met lots of other fellow cachers. A fascinating spot - thanks for pointing out the extras. A fav for us. TFTC.

As usual, it takes someone to point these things out. Nice!
Thank you for placing this cache.

Well hidden. I had to point out the outline of the archeological site to justanurse
While we were looking for this one, one person in our group stood on a rusty nail which went straight through her shoe and up into her foot. The nail is in the long grass within about a metre of GZ, on the road side of the fence. After retreating to the car we didn't want to risk walking back through the grass to look for the nail, so it's still there somewhere
The GPS had me slightly off but the hint soon corrected that and the find was made! Life is good.
#28 or so of what we think was 50 for the day for the johnnygoescaching crew. Lotsa logs to do.....
Found on a day long caching trip to Oamaru with the Johnnygoescaching group. TFTC
Nice oven. I like historical aspect of this cache as I hadn't noticed the oven before.

Last cache for the day before turning around and heading home. The jnrs loved playing around in the long grass at this one and we had a good rest before starting on the homeward leg. TFTC!
What a stunning area! We weren't supposed to be here but the Nuvi sent us this way when we took a short detour from the highway. We weren't at all sad to be driving along here. Cache was quickly located and returned. There was some water in the container but this hasn't affected the log book. We dried it out. TNLNSL. TFTC.
That is one of the most interesting things I've ever seen. The combination of the shape, history and exposure.
When driving by, I was looking out for a historic site. I've seen it, after I walked over there. But I'm not really sure if this is just a joke or the thruth.
Anyways, I had to search a bit to find the box.

An interesting archaelogical site, and an equally themed cache name. Found with Yeetrees.

One morning we realized that there was a cache only 200m from where we stayed that night ...
I wonder if there is really any history in this site or if there is another explanation,, a nice easy cache tho.. Cheers Bo
Another one of those oddball things you get taken too whilst out and about. TNLN Thanks.
2nd for the day - and what a cracker of a day it was turning out to be.
Cool location. Many thanks.
Cool location. Many thanks.
Nice day for cacheing. Have you done any research on the oven Bits? Would be fascinated to learn more if you have.
A quick find, an interesting archeological feature we wouldn't have noticed otherwise. TFTC
