(2/4/18) No luck for the Blue-Birdy with this one. Tried widening the search but to no avail. Thanks for the challenge anyway, .Anja
Had a good look around for this one but just couldn't make the find today.
Found it with TICE [Hiltsu, J&T, kapeka & laalaa]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Greetings from Finland.
Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Adelaide to Port Augusta. Some trail caches and others logged on the way.

Mallala. We have set up camp at the recreation grounds.
Today we headed out to find the caches that were close to town. Hubby was excited finding a racing circuit at this location. We could hear car sounds from where we were camped, so he was pleased to see a couple of cars practising on the circuit.
ITs a favourite point from him.
Thanks for placing this cache .Anja

Well there you go, go, go ...
.... I didn't know that this place had such a long history of speed
It sounded like some speeding was going on around the track today
There was a steady trickle of traffic heading in through the gates mid-morning.
No problem finding the cache
So off I went, went, went

I was over in Adelaide for a couple of days work in the Elizabeth area...and after I had finished for the day, I went off in search of a cache or two...or six actually. Although Mallala was a bit a bit of a drive, I came out specifically to look for a nearby cache that is really, really old. Having found that one, I made my way into town, started a Multi located there and then drove out to the race track...and this cache.
A nice quick find and I was able to sign the log and get back to finishing the Multi. Thanks .Anja for putting this cache out here.

We found that the cache had been full of water and by the looks of it was going rusty, unfortunatly we did not have a repair kit with us so we were only able to sight the log which was dry due to the jiplock bag and then return the cache to its hide.
Out on a day trip to the local towns and found our way to a little bit of racing history.
We did see that this one has a Geocaching HQ Admin log on it re the fire and as we were in the area and the log refers back to January we decided that we would go and have a look at the area and if safe look for the cache. At GZ the area does not appear to be affected by the fire and with a poke around we found the cache in good condition.
We are hoping it is OK to have done this as we are not sure of the rules with Geocaching HQ Admin log, something for us to check up on.

It has now been 6 months and a decision will need to made on whether this cache can be replaced at this location or needs to be archived.

This cache has been temporarily disabled due to a recent fire in the area. An extensive area of farmland has been burnt out and poses a potential risk to public safety. For safety reasons, visitors should keep clear of all areas that have been affected. See updates at http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/warnings_and_incidents/pinery_fire_information.jsp
A lovely day to go caching so we decided to shake the NSW/Qld dust out of the geo-bag and find some good old "Croweater" caches A good day with 38 smileys. The only frustration was the merry-go-round called the GPS, but it did not bet us!.

Had our eldest geoson T stay over night & it was my day of work. We had done a few things together this morning & then decided we would check out what geocaching there was around here before I take him back home to his mum as I'm back to work tomorrow. Thank you for bringing us here, we've had fun today caching. TFTC

A great spring day so we were decided to head out with hylys to make an assault on the Premiers of South Australia series. Finished a little earlier than we had anticipated so we stayed in the area and picked up a few more caches.
Such a lovely day, we headed out with hylys and silverfoxed to find the series on S.A Premiers. We had some more time so decided to try a few more in the area. TFTC
Found after Meggs had her Drive and ride experience at the Raceway. Didn't see any spiders....TFTC
Looks like some one has taken the wallace and gromit trackables and not logged it..
Went looking there today and found the cache but no trackable ;(
also log book was damp and all out of sorts.
white tip spiders were guarding the cache.
I think it may need to be checked and followed up on somehow.

A great series with different sized caches and plenty of space between each
There was a race meet on today

After a big day on the trails today, this one was next up on our list for today while on the way home back to the city. We spotted the cache quickly, and added our names to the logbook, rehid the cache, and headed back on the road back towards town [:)[

Can confirm that this one is still there. It's at the new co-ordinates logged by 3LG back in March 2014.
Thought it might be quiet today making for an easy find but it seems the nearby Motorsport Park had thrown open the gates for a public drive day. Managed to make a quick find between muggle traffic.

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring Australia after having attended Oz Mega.
Today was a moving day as we are heading towards Yorke Peninsula. We have been using Mallala as a base for a few days whilst we tackled the nearby powertrails but still had not managed to grab the local caches. So today we made sure we found them all before heading out today.

Today we hitched the vans to travel from Mallala to York Peninsula picking up some stragglers along the way.
We feared for the safety of this cache for a while as the council workers were removing and trimming the trees in the area but all good. Thanks .Anja for your cache.

Day9 of our Oz Mega 2014 Event trip. Crashed and burned big time yesterday, so didn't travel too far before calling it a day. I was more than happy to spend a bit of time in the Gawler area that both sides of my family came from before settling in Western Australia.

We arrive at GZ and find a tree has is on its side and looks like it is being cut up, we soon spot the damaged container in the open, we salvaged what decent swaps there was and placed them in a new container, we moved the cache to new coords just up the road. TFTC
The tree has been chopped up and only an uprooted stump remains. The container was in the open, broken and no TB sighted. Have replaced the damaged container (sorry only had a small IKEA container) and placed the cache behind a tyre at an upright tree. New co-ords taken are: S34°25.071 E138°30.598.

This cache was found on Day One of our four Day Adelaide Caching Tour, with TriBre, Fairybum, Mastamak, KidzJCT and Running as Teams BosNewellgus and Gummy Dales. Team BosNewellgus (Mastamak and TriBre) had arrived on the morning flight in from Brisbane and had a full day of sunlight before Team Gummy Dales arrived.
Having stopped and refueled after our flight from Brisbane (I slept as much as I could on the flight as we had been up till passed midnight with a first to find hunt before our 6am flight!) Even in our tried state, there was caches to be found and we had the daylight to do it! We started with the Premiers of SA, then on to It's a small world and followed by the Australian Prime Ministers Series. There was a few odd ones on the way...Even a STF.
With the large volume of finds I have written a generic log. I would like to thank the CO's for creating a Great time out and I can assure you fun was had by all. I believe we will be planning another trip to SA....
This was the 132nd find of 154 finds for the day in SA, with no DNF's for the day Fantastic! We also had a midnight First to Find grab in Queensland before our Trip.

We were down from Brisbane for 4 days of geocaching. KidzJCT and Fairy Bum were flying in later that night. As the advance party this was our chance to test the SA geocaching landscape.
We got into Adelaide at about 9am and were tired after an early flight which followed a midnight FTF hunt back in Brisbane. But that wasn’t going to stop us and after a quick food stop and quick stop to collect our first South Australian cache we were off to complete a few powertrails today in particular PSA, APM and It’s a Small World as well as many individual cahces.
I hope everyone in SA realise how good they have it here geocaching wise. A geocache almost everywhere you turn. We had a fantastic time while here and no doubt will be back again sometime. A big thank you to all cache owners whose caches we found.
Due to the volume of caches found I have only written a generic log. This should in no way detract from the fun we had in finding each and every cache.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.
As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.
To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.
****************
After the huge day we had Tuesday, some might think that we would rest up on Wednesday. However, there was no rest, and we were at it again, early. We targeted and completed the APM, PSA, 50, 60 and 40 series. There were other caches we found as well during another big day. In the end, I was glad to be able to see Adelaide and find a few caches there as well. Being the junior member on the team, it was fantastic to see how the others planned this, and the final result, being over 1000 caches in 48 hours.
****************
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.
I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.
Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.
The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.
Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.
Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.
Thanks, Quasar3671.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.
The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.
With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While you might think after the huge day on Tuesday, that Wednesday we might rest up, but oh no, again we headed out early after getting some sleep under the belts. We completed the APM, PSA, 50, 60, 40 series and a stack of other caches here and there. The other caches included two 5/5's and some completed there P81 challenge on a very nice conclusion to a 5/4.5 cache. Another great day, and we did get 1000 in 48 hours.

Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. TFTC and the memories.

When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.
Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.
With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.
Wednesday might have been a day of rest, but when you plan to get 1,000 caches in two day, there is little rest. Today the 50, 60, 40, PSA and APM series were collected before starting to head back to Victoria. The highlight of the day was collecting two 5/5 caches in one day, and completing the P81 challenge by collecting a 5/4.5 cache.
While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.
