sadly , while there are squatters in the area, only meters from GZ, I think it better to let the fogotten landds be forgotten.

Not much left here due to the Mugglers no log just the container may need to be removed from list
The muggles that the previous logger noted are still there! They are actually living there, have a basketball hoop, trampoline, several cars, and unfriendly sounding dogs. The dogs went mad for pretty much the whole time I was there. I was actually pretty scared, as a woman walking alone with a dodgy ankle, so was pretty relieved to make it back to my car without being seen.
I didn't sign the log, as couldn't find one in the cache. The cache has been muggled, with grafitti on the outside, a pair of old socks and empty water bottle inside. It's possible that the log book is still in there, I was just reluctant to put my hand further into the bag when I found the old socks. Also, the dogs went nuts with the bag rattling around, so I put it back where I found it and made for the hills.
Shame really, as it's a lovely spot with a great view, and I would've loved to have stayed awhile and taken it in. I just didn't want to stand up on top of the rocks as a big beacon and essentially shout "hello, come and get me".
I would suggest not going alone for this one, as I'm not sure if the gypsies are friendly or not, and I didn't want to be the one to introduce myself and find out.

What an effort - and NOT for the usual Pesky ways.
Having FINALLY snaffled a morning job in Pearl Beach, I decided to have a go at this one during lunch. Twenty minutes there, twenty back, ten to find it and 10 to have lunch and admire the view. Perfect.
Having previously looked on Google Earth and found what appeared to be a not so overgrown way in, I thought that an assault on the North face would be best. So I parked at the trackhead and went.
After about 15 metres I observed reasonably fresh tyre tracks. Aha!! methinks. The NPWS are doing exercises to make up for last weeks debacle at Point Clare. They have been here on the weekend. Funny, I didn't notice smoke - but....
Got closer to GZ. The 4bies had certainly chewed up the track in places. Around 100 m from GZ (at the closest point on the track) I could see why people would give up on this. But I knew better. Up the track for another hundred metres had me at the place I wanted to go for the cache. In I went. Following the little cliff face I got to within 30 or so metres of GZ and then the fun started.
Without giving away where the cache is I can say the following. From 30 metres away I noticed on the rock summit a folding chair. It looked fairly new. Bugger it!!! I bet someone has muggled this one. Got closer. Something didn't quite seem right. Then I heard a scream of one child having fun. This was closely followed by adult laughter. Have I stepped into a paedophile ring? I must be quiet.
Luckily from the way I approached GZ a few rocks gave me enough shelter to peek without being seen. There was a 1000 man tent pitched on the eastern side of the hill, along with 4 4x4s. There were lots of people in various states of underess - from fully clothed to less than fig leaves. Supreme stealth is needed from hereon in.
Got to the cache site and got out the log book. It was new. It HAD been found, presumably by some of the multitude below. Anyone finding this from now on will see how many muggles HAVE found this.
Signed the log very quietly and started making my way back to the track via the "Overgrown" way. I might have been seen if I left the way I came in. Half way down I got the fright of my life. ALMOST brown trousers time as I nearly stepped on a snake (YES, I DO KNOW IT'S WINTER. BUT IT WAS THERE). Luckily it was only a diamond python. It looked at me, I looked at it. I moved in the general direction of away and so did it. How an expletive didn't come from my mouth I still don't know. Made it back to the track and returned to the car.
Don't expect hoards at GZ next time someone looks for this. How they got the cars in through locked gates means they had inside help. Every gate in or out was locked (I checked). Don't expect to drive to this. A spoiler for the next finder - there IS an easy walking way to GZ with around a 15 metre scramble at the end. But you have to find the track. Easy when you get there.
In the end, it was an experience. And THIS is why I didn't write much in the logbook.

Incredibly overgrown around here, must have some really good fertilizer happening. Tried from Depot road and then headed down the Neera track but could not get any closer than 100m to GZ. Very wet underfoot after heaps of rain on Saturday. Good luck future cachers!
Out for a leisurely ride with cache thrown. This was a little off the beaten track. Interesting location with a great view of the surrounding area and a trashed car here and there. Great cache, but can not work out why the contents was wet. SL TNLN. TFTC.
What a great spot for a cache (and a nice size too). The cache is surprisingly wet inside, but I certainly couldn't have dried it today! Signed the replacement log that was left by previous cacher. And for future cachers: the little red container in the vicinity is an orienteering marker. If you like caching, you should check out orienteering!
Will I go or won't I this was the dilemma as the rain was setting in for the afternoon....I decided to take the chance after all it is only water. A very pleasant walk down along the winding track. Arriving at GZ I was looking around and found a red object hanging there and reading the scenario it was a blue container I was looking for. A little confused I continued scouring the area until I came up with the cache (nice size)...SL TFTC now for the trek out

Easy walk into the forgotten valley, the cache soon located. Unfortunately the last log entry says "found by 3 x 14 year olds,,," It would seem they did not realise the log book went back into the ziplock and not left on the ground...and to do the container up. The contents are wet, the logbook also wet...needs maintenance. Great views over the coast.
Very disappointed to not get this one! Tried it with TheMonks........no luck.
Started looking for a track from the east of GZ and quickly found out this isn't the place to start!
Then found a much bigger track from the south of GZ which took us all the way in. A hot day, and the mini TheMonks were not doing it too well.
Got within 40m of GZ but the scrub was very thick and everyone was buggered, so had to abandon attempt. No obvious track to GZ from main track. Looks as though its scrub bashing only. Maybe next time.

Really weird place did some bush bashing to find this but the kids were very impressed with the size of this cache.
after walking in the bush for 3 hours we came to a part where we thought the cache would be and as we walked up towards it one of the young cachers nearly stepped on a huge 3m long python in the middle of winter!!!!!!!!!!! we then trudged on feeling a bit shaken and found the cache. left geocoin took nothing. P.S dont follow driving directions from the internet as they led us to the wrong spot which made us have to bush bash to the cache and back again

A perfect day for walking, great views and so many weeds. Guess they like the subsoil. Someone dumped 50 truckloads of roadbase along the middle of the track so I guess they'll be levelled out soon, as no fire truck would get down there right now. Took small car, left dinosaur. Thanks again GeoMonkeys for yet another excellent cache.
Whoa, our biggest cache yet by far, we had a great walk and found lots of car wrecks along the track. Took moose TB.

Quite a walk and the constant trickling of crystal clear rivulets left me feeling quit thirsty. Knowledge of the areas history meant there was no way I was going near the water though. The knowledge that I had contributed to the area's diverse "biology" didn't encourage me to drink in the least!
Nice cache, had a pleasant walk in with the family and after a short bush bash, I was standing at GZ admiring the veiw and Prudence xx came up from the side and spotted the cache right under my feet. A nice big cache with some quality swaps too, and after prudence plundered my pack for some swaps I had nothing left so took nothing left "woof woof" TB and enjoyed morning tea at a great spot.

From the car we traipsed along the quaintly named Sani-depot fire trail. Sanatorium or sanitation we wondered. At any rate we soon reached a large open area which we imagine was once the site of the aforesaid depot – now being reclaimed by vegetation like a scene from “Life after Peopleâ€. We soon were carrying out the cache rites at a spot with a nice view back towards Umina. Right now the cache is garishly sign posted by a navigation exercise control point right on top of it. If a cache is to be muggled then this is the way you’d want it every time. The guys from Patonga RFS signed the log book and left an excellent compass. We took some eye cream and a cute ceramic worm leaving a camping multi tool and a book.
I really enjoyed his one. Nice hot walk in and when I got up to GZ a light sea breeze was just what the doctor order. After a short while I managed to locate the Cache and what spoils it contained. The view from GZ is brilliant and I can not believe it is so rarely visited. The spot has to be one of the better CCC's as it has everything. Thanks for taking me there Pesky.

After a nice lunch in a very sad looking little part that nobody seems to visit anymore, we got an SMS from a Rat telling me what number of finds we were up to, 1199, now, what to do, a micro?, a small? How about a regular, those are fun too?
Screw that, we gotta do the mother of all caches of course, well, part of the family of monster caches that only a Monkey can place as he has the monopoly on container of this size.
We knew we were coming here so we had packed a special T Shirt to go into this one. So, lets go....
We parked, we walked, a very easy walk, mostly flat with some sections of tar. Makes me wonder how so many people managed to crash their car on the way to this one? We must have counted 8 or 9 abandoned cars?
So we crossed the fast flowing creek, oh look, somebody parked their car in the creek as well. Got to a point where we had to abandon all hope of walking to this one via a road and headed off into the scrub. Not so hard, most of us made it without bleeding all over the place.
Youngest found the cache easily, I mean, how can u miss something this size?
Had to avert our eyes after we saw what was within!!!
Grabbed a ankle support thingy and some smelly stuff and left a new t shirt, regulation caching black in colour of course. Dropped a coin in as well.
Took a pic or two to celebrate our 1200th find.
Departed via a slightly different route on a fast disappearing track. Saw our first Monarch butterfly of the season on the way to this one. Seems to be some more names in the logbook??
Put me down for a couple of those containers please Mr Monkey.
Cheers

Nice place, an easy walk just what was needed, I'll take First to find even though there were 2 entries in the log they were from 2006 and Jan 2007. Took dog lead and left Key ring compass and Yo Yo. TFTC.
