No luck at all ...only the security people asking what we were doing hovering around the bac door at midday, guess we were not as careful as we thought in being stealthy!! ITS GONE I WOULD SAY.
Nothing to show for this one - should have checked previous logs before trying! - could have saved some time.
We looked and looked and looked, but didn't find this one! It was raining, lots of muggles, and my GPS was all over the place! Oh well, we went and saw "Cats" instead.
There was too much activity to find it! The was a security guard and builders everywhere but may return.
A lot of activity here this morning. People delivering flowers. Security guard close by. Took me some time to locate, GPS led me to spot.. then closer i got it went way off. I reckon these city caches need an extra star, because of building blocking satellites.
Went to the side door - nobody there to meet me (or so I thought). Tried to meet up at all the other side doors for quarter of an hour or so, with no success and then finally found my rendezvous right where I first looked.

Found while out with MandyP. Glad of the clue as the GPS was all over the place at times. TFTC
9.00pm. Back for a second time after watching the XT network light up the Town Hall.
Got it this time.

our first Urban cache, very kool.
Luckily everyone was around the front of the building watching the light show, so we had to look quite suspicious lurking in the shadows

#530. Nice hide. It's graduation week and plenty of gowned up people around. Fortunately by the time I arrived at GZ, the crowd had thinned significantly to allow a quiet find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Yup, it's definitely here. First to sign new logbook though. GPS said GZ was about 25m away from cache, inside the building! Just use the clue, not too many places it can be, even within a 25m radius.
Is it really there?
I had trouble to center the GZ and searched for abt. 20 minutes at several spots. But unfortunately without success.

Found it yesterday but had couldn't place it back. Waited for more than 30 min, first the painter packing up his van than a guard close to the door. Had an inspection again on Tuesday again so I hope no one came for a DNF.

Back from our trip to NZ. Thanks to all owners for the nice hidden caches along the road, at interesting sightseeing spots or great spots away from the normal atractions. Greats from Germany, sc
Quick find during an evening walk around the city once the bystanders went away. Nice old building, quite similar to the one in Wellington where I live. Signed log, TFTC!
Found in the company of the inimitable XenaCommander.
TechnoKitten has been very slack with logs and is finally catching up.

I've been to visit this area on more occasions than I care to count. I've never been able to make any kind of decent search due to muggles' activity, security people, comings and goings from the town hall and so on and so forth.
So we launched a bit of a team effort today. Sav Blanc Woman here from Melbourne, and me with team cacher Sweet P. We cracked it this time.
Intrigued to see that XC and TK visited here on the same day. We didn't arrive in AKL in time to attend the flash mob , so not an opportunity to show the Turtle face at that event. Next time perhaps.
TNLNSL and TFTC
The Turtle strikes again! (finally, in the case of this one).

FTF on new log book. Found it on spooky halloween. Lots of security muggles around and extreme stealth needed. We loved looking around inside. Thanks for bringing us here.
Easy find but heaps of muggles.Dad found it because he was the only one that could reach.T4TC.
easy find dad found it becouse it was a bit high for us bit hard because of all the muggles

Found with Kache cat and Kache rat. Had to wait until no muggles were passing. Easy find. TNLNSL. T4TC.
07:05 Tried to get to ityesterday, but no chance. Security guard watching delivery, many folks walking past. So decided to have an early start today. Found quickly. Logbook is full and needs replacing. TFTC
great hide,
took a bit to spot it though... had to come in from the right angle

It started bucketing down at this cache. Managed to grab the cache before security saw me, as one walked past I asked if he minded if I took shelter there from the rain Gave me time to sign the log, return the cache and walked off just as he returned from inside. Hehehe. Cheers Gav [2417]
Found with Q Moto. Mr Explorer distracted the security guard while Q Moto did the grab. TFTC.
2nd for the day, Done while waiting for pooke, Got to gz but there were some muggles satnding right beside it, they left pretty soon after so it was a quick grab while we could.
Left the GPS in the hotel room and with just a map and the hint went caching in the central city. Was dark, rainy and cold but still caching was there to be had.
Despite passing showers, there were still a few too muggles to allow a decent search. I'll need to return at a quieter time.
I had not intended meeting so many people at the side door! Last page in the log book. TFTC
Attempted this one yesterday afternoon but way to many muggles around.
Returned early this morning and with not so many muggles went up close to GZ and then the good wife says, not so softly...."Hey, here it is"..... . Anyway, with the find made, it was a quick sign of the log, cache replaced and we were off to the next one.
TFTC.
Cheers,

Goodness not wrong about GPS being all over the place. Cracked the code and still no luck. Better luck next time
4th of the day, did parkour around this area as well as myer park. had to sit around for 15 minutes because there were these muggles sitting next to the cache but they moved on, thank god. Retrieved easily and signed log, TFTC
Had to come back to this after initial run in with security guard right at GZ due to set up for a concert. (Real issue was my choice of parking!!) TFTC
Neat little cache! Was easy to find but had to hang around for the security guard to move on.

No real muggle problems for me because I work in this building! Must have walked past this several hundred times. Really only took notice when our security were alerted to the massive threat that turned out to be "Stage Door" (now archived) in another building I work in!

Possibly the most infamous cache in the country at the moment. Waited for the security manager to exit through the nearest door and quickly snaffled before more muggles went past. Quite a busy for 9.15pm. Must catch a show at the Aotea Centre some time. TFTC

It wasn't very difficult as there were few people in there. TFTC. Greetings from Spain.
No trade.

hmm imagine finding this next after Linlye & Claw... Found it eventually. Cheers.
Found after a bit of thinking and feeling! Easier to remove than replace. Great spot and TFTC.
Not an easy cache to find - mainly due to all the people lurking around - but finally found it with ftabba.

It was only on my second pass that I determined where it was. It's the smokers, tourists & security guards who increase the difficulty of this cache! I posed as one of those . . . . a tourist . . . took photos of the lovely flags and park-like surroundings . . . then grabbed the cache. Good spot. Appropriate camo. TNLN
I was in the area today for lunch and checked out the cache, all is well Ted. Thanks for the cache.
GPS did not settle the whole time and the door I was interested on did not offer much. City hall is undergoing a renevation inside.
We spotted the cache straight away but had to bide our time as we were being watched by a group of people eating lunch on the grass nearby. TFTH
really clever hide - not too many muggles, but stealth tactics required. regards from Switzerland

More interesting information about the location - thanks for that. We were also grateful for the quick find after wasting lots of precious time on a DNF nearby! SL. TFTC.
Also logging in and out our England Geocoin.

A very busy place tonight, some schools' concert as mentioned. Returned later in the evening and found in the first place looked.

Checked cache whilst at concert in amongst the school kids tonight. Moved the cache to its correct position as it was rather obvious.
We were lucky as a lot of school kids just left the building, making it easy to grab the cache because no one noticed us.

This was a difficult cache to locate due to numerous members of the public (oh and of course, our ever vigilant security guard) being around. I'm surprised he is not accustomed to Geocachers visiting the location. Recommend like many other caches that you visit outside the traditional lunchtimes as it makes it difficult to 'scope' the site.
I have KiwiGary to thank for assisting with this find. I think I have him worried now that I'm going to be 'flying solo' from here as I'm a threat to his current list of finds
Find no.5! only 1300 + to go!

13:15 Out with Dean from Work again, this was proved quite hard as there was a security guard standing two metres from the cache.
But after a while he walked back inside and I grabbed the cache, we signed the log and then as luck would have he appeared again. So we started to walk away, and then he went back in and the cache was replaced.
Thanks for cache, Ted it was an adventure indeed.

Easy find but loads of muggles. Coords a bit off, but GZ is obvious from the cache title anyway, so no worries.

7.10pm. A couple of burly men were guarding the door and as we sweep past the indicated GZ would have been too close to have a real look, so we keep walking.
Will come back when there is no show on.

Up in Alks to see our daughter for her birthday, easy walk and find ... not so easy to get passsed the door guard. Called by twice, then he popped inside ..... dam hes back, how do you return it ?
Quick find while in town for work. Tried once before but couldn't get close to the place due to local muggles and others not so close.
Did the old talking into the cellphone trick and grabbed the prize.
TNLNSL TFTC - still a busy place!!!

Driving home after attempting this last time it occured to me where we should have been hunting. This was confirmed when TT sent an email with some extra information.
Nice and quiet on a Sunday afternoon so didn't have any problems this time. Coordinates appear to be a bit out so have added my version here.
My favourite memory of the Auckland townhall was 20 years ago when my brother and a group of his friends snuck inside and hid until the early hours of the morning. When the coast was clear they climbed the tower and turned the clock into a giant "mickey mouse" watch. Only downside was the police encounter when they abseiled down.
Many thanks
