Time to say farewell to Timaru's first puzzle.

23-Oct-11
Will archive this cache on 16 November... Clear space for some others.

09-Jan-11
Had located bits and pieces of this over a few years on various trips to and through Timaru. Finally got around to putting it all together.

18-Sep-09
At last we can sign this one off after gathering the info in an earlier trip. Thanks for the tour. TFTC.

24-Jan-09
It's taken a few months and with only one site to check yesterday and get numbers from we managed to do the final maths and find the cache today. Thanks for the tour of Timaru, it's been interesting. TNLN Thanks.

07-Jan-09
Really enjoyed this one, very well designed puzzle Smile

07-Jan-09
Yippi we found it. A good wee tour around Timaru - the organist has a discrete way with numbers.

14-Nov-08
Pleased to find it after gathering all that info. Had to use clue. Easy after that. TFTC.

#475 (2/14 in Timaru). Stumbled upon the coords for B, C and D in April while doing some caching enroute from CHC -> DUD. Good to be back in town over 6 months later to finish the job. Didn't find one of the numbers, bit it was easy to work out (and confirm on Google maps). TFTC.

30-May-08
Solved it some time ago but it took a while to get to the cache location. Easily found once at GZ. TFTC.

27-Apr-08
Wahoo - completed it. TFTC.

26-Apr-08
A day's work, but nicely done. Thanks!

2079. Another quick stop on our way through Timaru. Thanks for replacing the cache. We didn't even need to put the coordinates into the GPS this time as we knew where to stop and look. We had a great time a couple of weeks ago completing the hunt and gathering the information and it was good this time to be able to pick up the cache and sign the log book.

Thanks
Iris & Rodney

This was one cache I didn’t think I would ever complete as I’m not a frequent visitor to Timaru but after discovering one of the TBs in a cache done last night and another in a cache that I had done previously but that BaldEd had not done I changed my mind. I had all the mobile information I needed and now just had to get the static info to complete the cache. Had a great tour of Timaru to complete this puzzle cache.
In: Nil.
Out: Geocoin
Cheers for the cache.

At last! What a marathon effort by Tufty and I. We gathered all the details required for this cache whilst traveling around Timaru signing off on other caches. – Token Collector Geotag. Thanks for the interesting tour of Timaru.

Hmmmm. Second of my caches to go missing in a few days of each other. Has now been replaced with a small cache, but will put a bigger cache in in a couple of days. Clue changed slightly.

25-Mar-08
Dropping off a geocoin.

24-Mar-08
We have found all the waypoints, done the calculations and the final coordinates appear to fit but we can't find the cache!! Oh dear!

12-Feb-08
We worked out most of the puzzle and used our intuition to work out where the cache might be. It was easily found with this information.

05-Jan-08
Wow. That took a while. Luckily I managed to find most of the waypoints during my last visit, so it wasn't too much of a mission. However I suspect I made the same mistake with one of the coords that Kiwi Nomad did - as I ended up in the same situation. The-Organist was kind enough to point out which digit was in error - and as soon as he did that, I realised my error. So close the previous time too! +Geocoin. Thanks.

09-Dec-07
Had more time today to check out the 'final' location to discover that I possibly have something wrong, as circled all around it but couldn't get closer than 45m as 'was' on privat land. Back to the drawing board.

07-Oct-07
Dropping off some geocoins. Cache in great condition!

07-Oct-07
Taken both geocoins.

06-Oct-07
Yay! Found it, and left a coin C pin. This now means I've found all the caches in Timaru.

03-Oct-07
Oh so close, infact about 80m from the final cache.
A look at the clock told me what I didn't want to know, with tb still in hand the final for this has been delayed for another trip. Maybe next time I will find the final church for the other puzzle cache I was working on today.

30-Sep-07
We have been eyeing this one up for a while. We did find the two clues on one night sortee - getting the two older caches - so it was only about a 3 and half hour round trip to finish it off. Very well thought out. Thanks. Enjoyed it hugely. TNLN SL

30-Sep-07
Spent the day with rchdlyn to find this one and lots of others in the area. A long cache but fun. T4TC TNLN

15-Sep-07
Very clever, lucky I don't feel like a fight today.
Worked out clue A after some head scatching and found some others on today trip but also had some problems so a return trip is in order to finish this one off. Maybe even two trips, we will just have to wait and see.

Went back for another seek - -since cache has been "shifted".
No problems finding it today.

Cheers Organist.

I loved the challenge.

Cheers

Quick find this time, I were to far north last time, great wee cache hunt.

Many Thanks Bitsprayer

04-Aug-07
Just needing to go and investigate what the last two loggers have found. I may move the final cache, in which case I will place some adjustments on the cache page at the bottom of the existing clues...

04-Aug-07
Cache checked and not near the aforementioned toilet paper. I have moved the cache slightly to make it easier to see and there is no longer any movement of foliage (or any other movements!) necessary to find it.

Hint moved into the actual listing now.

Found all the clues, all of which "hiding places" I've previously found.
Forgot to deduct the digit from one clue, so on rechecking all clue-results, went out yet again to find the final Location.

Would appear to have been the same exact location that Bitsprayer ended up in.
I must say, that the "Loo-paper" is the least of your worries - -copious quantities of raw and very visible "No. 2's" abound in that place.

The place fitted the description, but no way was I going to be kneeling down and mucking about in leaf litter like that horrid stuff.

Possibly the wrong final location??

Maybe.

Cheers

No luck with this, I think I got some thing wrong, i were in a place you could hide a cache but lots of loo paper around.

What a great cache! good way to spend a rainy Sunday.... took us most of the day, but some of that was due to us making a few mistakes - one of which put the final in the middle of a paddock at Kerrytown - no, we didn't go and check..... a return home for a cup of tea did the trick, and we found it no problem.... co-ords spot on..... took the FTF TB, left nothing as it was pouring by that time and all our goodies were in the car some distance away... will return to drop off a few things

Thanks for the cache Organist person.... well done! Smile
