Oooh yeeeah. After my debacle here the other day I felt slighted and it stuck in my craw a little.Decided on a whim to walk back here again and spend the day landscaping to find the prize.Well. I found it within a minute of arriving. How do you like that.Explored some more, as you do. Marvelled some more, as you do.Eventually slunk away back towards yack.Thank you so much Bushtrakker for hiding a cache here some seventeen odd years ago. Best decision. Take my favourite point!
O my. What a place.I spent so long here. Called it as the sun was setting and I still had to walk back to town.
Wow, what can I say. Sometime you just arse it.I took the steep hill option. Thought it had the best parking from Yack. It was times square near the spot to pull over with about 15 cars wanting to pass.Anyway, struggled up the hill at the first bit. Then struggled down the hill on the second part. Man, going back will be brutal. Found a track to lead to GZ. Stopped to take a photo, then checked the coords. Huh. Im close. Looked under. Saw wombat poo and lots of it..whats that!?! Delved deeper and there was the cache! lol. Not at all where I expected it to be on first arrival. I definitely came from the right side!TFTC and a fave point. I saved the best for last after a big day of caching. SL at 15:20pm. EDIT: that was cache 28 for the day. Home time now.
Way back in 2019, I had a dnf on this cache. It has taken me this long to get back out to this great location. With a previous finder with me, the cache was easily found.. Thankyou for highlighting the area.
#girlsweekend caught up with some really special friends today. Thanks heaps to Tash and Richard for taking myself and Blazertriaz out for the day to see some of the sights of Beechworth. While driving around they took us to this cool location and quite surprised that her geo car got us into this neat spot. Absolutely loved the under ground hut and nice camping area. Tftc
Out on a girls weekend, Beechworth 2023, and who could help the pull of some caches in the area. TFTC. Beautifully placed!
This was the area we had planned to come to so we could do a big cache and collect a load of cool side quests along the way, it's a fair way to come from Tassie but it made for an amazing day of 4WDing thanks to the toolman having a right ute.
Many cool locations were spotted today and finished off with a pub meal on the way back.
This wasn't a normal trip to the mainland to got to a Mega it was a trip to catch up with a good mate that couldn't keep up with the pace in Tassie when he lived there so moved back
This was a trip for gooseandegg and myself to meet up with 1Toolman and have a long weekend caching in the North of Vic to try and help him fill his D/T grid, we knew we couldn't fill it but thought we could get close and we did well finding 10 out of the 14 we were targeting. Hope he finds the time to find the last few soon.
Thanks for the cache.

We'd been out making records for the slowest wherigo EVER and had this cache high on the priority list on the way. It was getting late after a day of slipping and sliding around the bush and we were keen for an explore here. A pretty solid old place but after a look and fulfilling a task we were keen to find the cache. The tooman proved he was worth bringing along by finding this one!
Thanks Bushtrakkers
Stainless steel rat and I agreed we needed to catch up with our old mate 1TOOLMAN for a weekend so we made a plan to fly over and help fill in a couple of holes in his D/T grid. We managed to fill 10 out of 14 before running out of time. I think he's got the urge to continue and make it happen.

Have had this one on the radar for a long time but put off by the 4WD requirement. However, one of the kids had a scout camp nearby so I arrived early with the geohound to go for a walk to collect this one. Victorian long weekend probably not the greatest idea - was very busy but got there in the end.
Got caught up in the roadworks at Yack. Nearly got run off the road by a 4WD coming out of the forest. Realised the track on the map was a walking track not a road, and lead through at least three camps. Motorbikes all over the place. Creek was flowing well but managed to lift the fig and cross the rocks and log without falling in.
At GZ and old fellow was having a rat and wanted a chat. He wasn’t going anywhere so I started hunting after explaining what I was doing. He suggested a spot but I thought too far away. I hunted around the hut. I walked through blackberries and hunted again. Was running out of time and headed over to the suggested spot. What do you know phone was saying 1m. Looked under- nothing. Looked again and there was something which when moved revealed the cache. Glad to get this one at a very cool location.
Walked back yo the camp with time to spare.
TFTC Bushtrakker - I can see why so many favourites.

Turned the frown upside down, great cache. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
I was completely outclassed on this one but we shall return. How I hate blackberries and sad blue faces. I think I know where it is now. I just paid too much attention to the hint.
Out and about around Yak today grabbing a few solved mystery caches and a few trads.
This was our fav cache for the day, put the 4x4 skills to the test. Such an awesome little hidden piece of history.
Once at gz took a little bit to find the cache, scared off a few rats from there hidey holes!
Fav point from us, tftc !

OK thats the creepiest hut I've ever been to. Put the new 4wd to the test as well as the driver. Beautiful spot. Not a fan of blackberry bushes tho. Tftc
Found after a great 4WD adventure & this is a great spot. Found with hairypanic on a bit of a trip away from the Wangaratta Mega event this weekend. Tftc
Such a cool cache!! Found with gridge98 on our Victoria holiday after leaving Tassie.
A short stop here today whilst completing the 4wd wherigo, the is an awesome location.
Today we set off from Beechworth to an event j. Wangaratta before heading back and up north to Yack to do the 4wd wherigo and a few others in the area before continuing north to Nsw for LGAs.
Thanks for the cache

Found it, not in a pvc pipe thou. It was a test tube looking thing. Maybe has changed packaging
Heard about this years ago, but finally got there today with the kid.
No 4wd so we walked in from the mountain bike carpark and through the creek.
This must have been quite a sight back in the day, even run down its still impressive
Thanks

Well now that I'm a proud owner of a 4WD I thought why not use it so this was plan one for the day. What a fun drive in and even though the geokids weren't the biggest fans of 4WD at the start, I may have some converts. Now to the cache. We found a cache at the hut but after looking at the logbook may not have found the original. Have notified CO and am logging with permission.
Thanks for the cache and permission to log. I loved the day and caching for getting me out. Favourite point for the drive and the CO

*Cache find # 11334.*
While on tour doing the 4X4 Wherigo cache, we arrived at this one.
This is certainly an interesting hut to explore, they have certainly put a bit of effort into the building of it, as for the cache, it had us scratching out heads wondering where it was because it wasn't in the spots that we were looking in, eventually Michael come up with the goods a bit away from where we were looking at the start.

A quick find out with Stemicmitsar today caching out and around Yackandandah. With our main goal of the day being the 4WD Wherigo, which was successful and a lot of fun, we managed to pick up several caches along the way and on the way home.
A great day out in this corner of the state. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.

This is a definite favourite. Absolutely love that caching takes us to places like this. Have since read the information that used to exist at this site.

Wow. We love the places that caching takes us and the things we see as well. This was no exception. What a great place. It was quite a hot day and the inside of this great hut was so cool. Quite incredible what could be fitted into such a small house. Oh yes, the cache. It was found on the second look, signed and returned to it's hide.
Thanks for placing this cache in a great location and showing us this hut. A definite favourite.

Day five of Beechworth camping road trip with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & RoamingHowie, working our way through various must-dos.
Amazing things we find and see while playing this awesome game.
Such a refreshing place to visit on such a warm day. A fav point for bringing us to this location.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Bushtrakkers

Day #3 for me of the cache adventure with OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506. Today we are off to hopefully complete the 4X4 wherigo.
What an awesome hut. Such a great place to explore as we are completing the 4X4 wherigo.
Thanks Bushtrakkers for the cache and for bringing us here!

This place is awesome! The kids stumbled on the cache before I even told them there was one lol. TFTC
Had great plans to explore the area and get a few geocaches on the way. However didn't factor in no reception. Next time will download to an offline list. We walked from near the mtb place but ended up on the wrong side of the river. Luckily a kind 4wd couple ferried us across to explore the underground hut. What a great spot! But no geocache as no reception!

Hanging out with the cool kids for the weekend and enjoying the warm weather. Oh the places you can go in the geoprado and this was one of them. A fun day out was had by all with plenty of great scenery and lots of different cache hides to keep us entertained.

Well this was a must do as we were in the area. Despite being exhausted from the nearby wherigo this one just had to be found. The replacement was well hidden but was obvious to a geocacher.
Signed the log and moved on.
Brilliant place. Took a number of videos.

I've ridden past here so many times and never knew this was here! Got wet feet tho
Find this one but it took some looking. Great little spot and the guy is awesome. Thanks for the cache. This is our second geocache we found. Addicted.
This cache has been on my radar for sometime. We took the "xtrail route" and the Territory did it easy.. loved exploring the underground hut but had no luck finding the cache in the surrounds.. im pretty sure it is a case of cache blindness. Oh well, gives us an excuse to come out this way again.
Found after checking out the hut . This was my purpose of the weekend away . Love checking out the huts.
Well, over 11 months since last log/find. Lapun and I knew of this and another 2 caches in the area. With a warm afternoon and some time to spare, we decided to take both our 4x4's up the tracks. In and out via Khons Track to the south with ease. Thanks so much for placement of this cache.
What an interesting place. I think the hut would have been cosy in winter. Well designed. Had a good day, not too hot. Found it with ozreg. Thanks for the cache.
Wow, what a brilliant camo...the hut, that is! Unbelievable. We managed to find the cache and sign the log too. Thanks Bushtrakker, found with The Tritonz.
This is a great spot to explore. I really enjoyed my time here today. I took the liberty of placing a cache container and log where the bag of swag was left dumped. I apologise that the new container isn’t big enough for the swag, but it should be easily found. TFTC Bushtrakkers
Found but has seen better day not log book and no container on bits of contents left scattered
While doing a whereigo with snap happy, happy pants, happy feet and omegaman, we decided to do some traditional caches, partly due to fading light and we were unable to make the find
Road Trip: Day 4 - Yakandandah
Roaming around this back forrest and was taken here - man oh man what a spot. This is just so damn cool. I love the North East. Love it. Just amazing. Thanks for the cache here - lost for words. A fave from me without a doubt.

Fascinating - just a detour off Yack MTB trails. All brilliant so congrats local community.
Read about the underground hut on fb last night & thought surely there's a cache there! Geocaching didn't let us down. Teed up with cristabel & prado owning parents to check it out this morn. Checked out the entry points & even though we had the hilux & the prado, we went with the Xtrail option. The downward greasy slide into the creek was a bit unnerving!!! Kids loved the creek crossing & were quick out of the car to explore along the track. The cache was forgotten & the hut explored by all. Amazing craftsmanship. Quick find @ gz with cristabel navigating & hubby making the find. SL & returned as found. Now to figure out how we are going to get back out! No chance getting back out the slippery greasy clay track that we came in on. Spoke to some passing trail bike riders & they suggested the way we came in was the best way out ! So we ignored their advice & continued up kohnes tk onto the spur with two options. Turn right towards the 4wd camp or left towards a steep possibly just as slippery track (more trailbike riders advised). So we went right but further inspection at the top cancelled out that option. With fingers crossed we headed back along the spur & reached the drop off down to yack gate rd. Looked pretty solid on foot until the last turn at the bottom which both vehicles slid around gracefully without any damage. I don't think the grandparents will cache with us in winter again ! We did set out for an adventure & that is exactly what we had (fav point given)! Thanks for the detail on the cache page regarding entry options - came in handy. Now to find some lunch.... Highly recommend Gum Tree Pies in the main st of Yack
Great day out in the bush with the Wackyweedos. Lucky grandparents have a 4WD as this one is pretty tricky to drive into in winter. Great spot for a cache - kids loved making up stories about previous inhabitants. Hide and cache in good condition.
Great spot, I have been here a few times before geocaching. Kids enjoyed hunting for this one. TFTC
Good hiding spot. My daughter saw it, I would never have found it without her help. Been here so many times, good spot for a hide.
Ive know about this place alot longer than ive known about caching.
Ive always loved this place. Lots of muggles around today had to use stealth

Another one that represents why I cache. Amazing spot, interesting location, hard trek in and out from Bells Flat Rd. Love this cache. Great work bushtrakker. Even had a paddle in the creek. Just beautiful.
Out and about in the lovely Yackandandah area doing a local 4x4 wherigo and taking the opportunity to pick up some trads at the same time.
What a great little gem this is, we were amazed to come across it and learn the background history. The craftsmanship is superb for limited resources that would have been on hand.
We must confess to trying to find this elusive cache yesterday but with no luck. The GPS and smartphone were all over the place. Today was a different story, thankfully. Within minutes the GPS had us at 3 metres to the find. It was just a bit higher than expected.
Thanks Bushtrakkers for bringing us to a fantastic location and for the cache.

On Melbourne Cup Day Yack was essentially closed and deserted. A brisk walk uphill from the road waypoint in superb sunshine lead us along the plateau until we - sorry, I - decided to bush bash down to the cache. Found without too much hassle dry and in good condition. Headed back uphill to find my partner calmly completing a Suduko , sitting on a log, as I arrived puffing and sweating. Good fun.
Thanks and cheers!
Thanks and cheers!
Our goal today was to enjoy a day of sight seeing between Yackandandah and home. After signing the log and picking up a TB we spent ages exploring the area and taking photos. Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable cache to highlight the area. Definitely a fav point from us.
Found a cache 10 metres SW from where coords say it is. Doesn't appear to be current one, last log was 2013
What a great place to visit. Beautiful. Took us a while. got a bit misled. found with Nicky B and MVJB.
Dropping of travel bugs whilst out and about today.
Lots of people visiting, we had lunch while waiting for gz to clear out.

Need to have a trip out with a new case as the old one has become crushed and is leaking water into contents.
Cache found by my 3 year old on an epic dog walk(with a little bit of help) She thinks the underground house is amazing and is now wondering what she's going to swap next time we visit.
