We made that find harder than it needed to be. You don't need to climb the tree it is about 1 meter off the ground.

Quick find on the way home to Melbourne.. Tftc

04-Jul-16
Very disappointing did not find, The coordinates put me on the road, the cache page suggest where to look, I looked all around and over under even out and I still couldn't find it thanks anyway

Another long weekend....another trip away..this time 1/2 of our team headed to Albury for a weekend of caching with Rapidlywild and Coruze. Day one was spent around Mt Disappointment where we finished up fairly late and headed to the hotel for a good nights rest. Today was also another big one, as we meandered our way back to Albury stopping through the little towns along the way.

Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements and giving us a reason to come and check out another area of this country of ours, apologies for the generic log.

Thanks to Rapidlywild and Coruze for another enjoyable weekend.

A long weekend, what does that mean? Well GEOCACHING of course Big Grin

Plans were in place to get out this long weekend with one party of the FurfacesLL and head towards Albury. We had organised a weekend of caching with Coruze which included puzzle collections (Albury/Wodonga) and power trail targeting (Mt Disappointment) and what ever little town we can invade along the way.

Alot happened this weekend, lots of caches, lots of laughter, many km's, long days and long nights. We all walked away battered and bruised after this weekend but it was worth it and would do it again in a heart beat lol

We had finished the power trail and surrounds yesterday so today we headed northbound and collected caches and visited a heap of towns too.

Thanks Trunksnsuch for the placement of this cache[^]Big Grin

stayed at Nagambie over the Easter break, and managed to convince the family to venture out this way to pick up some caches (plus I'm trying to get to #300). unfortunately I couldn't locate this one. I looked high and low and even higher and all around but still no luck. It sure is a busy little corner though. Interesting history about "Red" so we even had a tour of the cemetery which is always fascinating. Thanks anyway, and now I smell like a peppercorn tree.

This my second attempt at Big Red, and I'm pleased to say I can get my smiley. This was a team effort with my muggle daughter reading previous logs and her muggle boyfriend helping me search. Replaced container with a new one. SL TFTC

20-Feb-16
#1878 Back today for a re-attempt. This time with success! The previous finder assumed incorrectly about the cache being muggled as the original cache is still snug in-situ, although the lid has come loose. The replacement cache was removed as it shouldn't have been installed and the log should be changed to a dnf. We said a quick hi to Big Red before moving on. TFTC Tunksnsuch.

Well the MEGA geo getaway had come to a close so it was time for me to head back to the CAN Sad

Nabbed this one on the way back for a quick find and a stretch of the legs Smile Once I worked out "small" actually meant "micro" it was an easy find-just had to reach out, dust away some leaf litter and there it was Smile Grateful I didn't have to stick my hands in anywhere!

Thanks for the hide, Trunksnsuch Smile

After missing our exit off the highway, we had to double back and came across this cache. Loved the history behind this one. Very interesting. Found at 1:38am, and it is in need of a new container. TFTC.

13-Oct-15
With not much time (on or way to airport) and lots of cars going past, we decided to do a dnf on this one TFTC hopefully we'll be back another day Sad

Just on our way home after spending a couple of days at Nagambie. Looking for caches on the way of course.
Not able to figure out where the name to this one comes in but loved the perfume around the peppercorn tree.

25-Nov-14
Second find for today on our second attempt. Found it with A-team122. Thanks for the cache.

25-Nov-14
Find #2 for today with Geonps. Returned to this one after our failed attempt last week and read through recent logs to work out what container we were looking for, successful!

A little detour on the way home from Melbourne to get this little sucker out of the way. I needs a little maintenance as the lid is loose and does not stay on... TFTC

Suscoe was heading north today on a magnificent mid Spring day.
This was our 6th find of the day.
We read some things that we hadn't read before and then set about the search. After some time we resorted to a PAF.
Well there it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done to Trunksnsuch for placing this cache here, a nice hide.

#669 for us today, found after a lovely family lunch at the nearby winery.

After a great day caching around in the Strathbogies yesterday, today it was off for a big family lunch at the winery and then back home to Juc. This one was in my sights due to its Kelly connections, as all things Kelly-cache are very big down Geelong way at the moment...We had left VT a bit early, planning to grab this one on the way, however an accident on the Hume, which brought us to a standstill put paid to that idea. They decided to turn everyone around and detour them via Longwood, so we made it to Avenel in time for our reservation, but with no time to spare even as we passed within metres of the cache !

After a very enjoyable lunch, it was back to the cemetery, where a long hunt ensued, with many revolutions around the obvious hiding place. The coordinates today had me right on the while line in the middle of the road, but there was really only one place it was likely to be. I was on the verge of giving up, when suddenly, there it was. Thankfully a sunny Sunday arvo didn't see that much traffic.

Thanks for the cache Trunksnuch !

As previous finders have said, the container is a bit under the weather, but log was fine and dry today.

Had a go but without luck. Based on past logs, I think I was searching I the right spot, but couldn't come up with the goods. Still took a moment to seek out Red, so thanks!

Got it finally on my second try. TFTC

12-Aug-14
This one was a must while visiting Avenel. It is many years since I have been to this little town, so close to
my home town. Glad I could put a smiley on the map here. Thanks for highlighting this grave here

08-Aug-14
My second try for this one - and I found it almost straight away. How could I have missed it last time? The cache itself may need to be replaced because the lid is not closing as it should and putting the entire cache in a ziplock bag would have only drawn attention to its hideout. TFTC

03-Aug-14
Spent a little bit of time searching for this one yesterday before doamono found it, with _joshnh and mitchaaa. TFTC!

02-Aug-14
Very tricky to find, eventually got there though. Found with doamono, Mitchaaa and myshell88. TFTC!

Found it! Still haven't updated to premium so had to find on website... Great Cache, took a while to find! TFTC!

13-Jul-14
We stopped for the markets on the way back to Sydney and this was such a bonus. Great bit of history and a well hidden cache. Had to take a photo of my favourite art of the view at the cemetery with the cache contents because I stupidly forgot a pen Smile Thanks for the fun stop:)

11-May-14
Avenel had a market day today, so way too many muggles. But had an interesting look around the cemetery. Will be back.

15-Mar-14
Took quite a bit of searching but soon found it. As the witchjy was signing the log, Doc was treated to an alternative history lesson. According to an older gentleman, Ned was actually buried under what is now the roadway, NOT at the Old Melbourne Gaol. I'm a tad sceptical of that, but who knows. TFTC.

15-Mar-14
On our way up the hume stopped to feed pirate baby and let the toddler stretch his pirate legs at a local playground. A very short drive found us at the local cemetery where geoplunderer husband got all sticky finding breathe freshener.

09-Mar-14
Another interesting bit of Kelly history. On market day we thought could have muggle trouble, but as a nearby group left their car we had GZ to ourselves and we found it after a couple of minutes searching.
Thanks Trunksnsuch

02-Mar-14
Yep, sure is a busy little bit of road. Got lucky and had the cache in hand quite quickly. Thanks for placing one here Trunks.

10-Jan-14
There are lots of hidey holes for this and can get covered with twigs and leaves. An awesome cache next to Reds grave site, one of our stops on the Ned Kelly touring route. TFTC

02-Jan-14
I was in Avenel chasing a solved puzzle and grabbing ny local caches and this was next. Pulled up at GZ and checked the logs to find a long list of DNFs and thought - maybe move on but why not have a quick look and see what happens. Well after thirty seconds I had the cache in hand in the second place I looked, perfect condition with moosetash as the last name in the log. What is throwing some people is the container size which is more (in fact very) commonly labelled as a micro, hmm minty fresh. Thanks to Trunksnsuch for highlighting this part of Avenel's history and the cache.

22-Dec-13
If this cache is indeed a small size, i explored all possible places that could contain such a cache with aid of a powerful torch and a long tool all to no avail. Either it has gone missing or else extremely well secreted. Great tree but it defeated me today thanks anyway Trunksnsuch

24-Nov-13
Plenty of spots for a hide here but unfortunately I couldn't locate the cache here today.

01-Nov-13
Looks like the council have been through doing some work, maybe they disturbed it?

26-Sep-13
Searched for about 15 minutes. Looked high looked low looked in every nook and cranny but alas no cache today.

26-Sep-13
Tried this cache again but no result again. Had fun playing with local dog and I did check to see if cache was in stick before throwing

26-Sep-13
Have been to this one a few times, and I'm not sure I'm going to go it its not there. Maybe a geo-check?[?]

10-Aug-13
Bum! I couldn't find it. Might try again on my return to Melbourne. What a gorgeous little stop though! Thanks!

What a great piece of history! We love an interesting place to go to and this didn't disappoint. However, we had to search for quite a while to find this one. We didn't want to give up, but after many checks in the same spot over and over again we were beginning to wonder, but finally the Moose came up with the goods. Thanks for a great cache.

09-Jun-13
Had no trouble finding this cache as it was half exposed. Signed log and cache was well rehidden just as the sun was starting to set - beautiful sunset this pm. Another interesting cemetry visit added to our list of cemetries visited over many years. TFTC Trunksnsuch and bringing us here - much appreciated.

13-May-13
Must have walked around a full circle 5 times before I had my hands on this cache. Thanks.

Find # 2666
Date 3rd Mar 2013
Time 1:29 PM

After a great weekend away paddling my yak around lake Nagambie and surrounds, following my fellow cachers around while they were claiming FTF's on my new Yak series, it was time to head back home, but not before first grabbing some puzzles that we managed to solve last night as well as some nearby traditional caches.

My second cache of today. My mate, SedgwickDave had already found this one, so left me to search. There were lots of bees around GZ today, managed to find the cache quite quickly despite the many people visiting the area today.

Thanks to Trunksnsuch for the cache. TNLN.

Find # 3022 @ 12:15 pm

Plenty of hidey spots but I soon came up trumps. Yep, spotted the grave as well.

Thanks Trunksnsuch

09-Dec-12
Have driven by lots of time never realising that there is quite a town here. Had a bit of a look about and then to the cache which was quickly found. Not so Big Red's grave, maybe next time. Thanks for our 500th cache in 2012.

Looked in lots of little nooks and crannies and was about to give up when one half of the Gloucester Roadies saw it out of the corner of her eye. Moral of the story is - keep looking! TFTC

14-Oct-12
Think we know where it is, but worried about poking our hands in places where nasties might be hiding Smile

02-Sep-12
We spent quite a bit of time searching for this one. There was a lot of weeds and suckers at the base so it may well still be there, just not to be found by us today. The girls gave up looking and went and found Big Red's grave and wandered the well kept cemetery until we gave up the search and told them to get back in the car. Thanks for bringing us here and Tahnicia was particularly interested in reading the info boards scattered around town. She wants to do a tour of them all. Something for next time.

I gave myself 5 mins on the way to the snow but could not beat the clock with a stick.
