In the year 2121, physicist Dr. Elara Marlowe discovered the secret to manipulating time ripplessubtle disturbances in the space-time continuum. By amplifying these ripples, she could create brief windows into the past and future. She built a device, "ChronoScope," to harness this power, allowing glimpses of history and future events. One day, a particularly strong ripple showed a catastrophic event a century ahead. Elara faced a dilemma: reveal the future to prevent disaster or let time unfold naturally. She chose to share her findings, sparking a global effort to change the course of history, illustrating how even the smallest ripple can alter the fabric of time.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -keep the Long weekend free- June 2025 Can't wait!!2598
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.Travelling north towards Port Augusta we detoured around the back of Mount Remarkable to grab this EC, some interesting features at GZ.Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
Found on a sunny but cool day with richlink as part of our annual caravan geocaching trip. We loved exploring this beautiful area and finding your EarthCache, thank you. Answers have been sent.
Travelling with iluvtrekking on a SA caching foray. Staying in PA for a couple of days while having some repairs to caravan hot water system. Ventured out towards Montrose to grab some finds. Answers sent. Thanks Freddo
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 7 - Jamestown to Whyalla via Caltowie , Melrose, Wilmington and Pt Augusta. I spent the morning doing a caching lap of Jamestown, including a previous DNF. Then I was on the road. I managed to stop regularly and in each of the small towns I passed though to do some of the caches along the way. As I went further west it began to warm up. I was very cold In Jamestown last night. I did some Labs in Melrose and in Whyalla before getting set up for the night and going on a short tour around town. I did a lab set around Melrose and its surrounds and managed to find a cache or three as well. The sort of geology exposed in the oddest of places is always surprising, and I just had to stop for a look at this one. Answers sent and approved. Thanks for the cache Freddo46507.22 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & June 2017 Fathers Who Cache A#362**Albida**
EC visited 9.4.24We were back in Australia for a family visit and some outback exploring, a most interesting trip which started in Quorn, Leigh Creek, then 3 nights in Arkaroola and 6 ECs. Fantastic area.Arriving in Marree, we thought we would be stuck there, as all the tracks were red/closed when we arrived for the night. We changed all our plans and an hour later we had to reinstate them as the dit.sa.gov.au site showed the track open again. We were then able to complete the Oodnadatta Track without being stranded, after a lot of rain and luckily the track stayed open all the way for 621kms. Great fun passing a lot of flooded creeks on the way to Marla with a convoy of 5 other cars, we kept meeting at night or passing on the Track. From Marla, we headed on towards Coober Pedy and made a detour to the Breakaways, then along the Dog Fence. Incredible landscape! We arrived at Out of this World EC before reaching Coober Pedy, where we stayed a couple of days. We met a lot of different people, got talking about life of all sorts, met The Noodler in their home, chatted to golf players, and to lots of itinerant workers, French, Argentine, Italian, Chilean, met grey nomads, all very interesting encounters. We even crossed Curly running on the Stuart Highway, 110kms north of Cooper Pedy. He was harnessed to his trailer and waved cheerfully. We got to know who he was later, all because of geocaching and a log by Morgo the geo, his supporting team. Curly is running the whole length of Australia to Darwin after running the length of New Zealand. What an enterprise, fantastic and crazy, all while smiling. We had selected a few ECs on the way, our favourite pastime , in stunning colourful landscapes. Such a beautiful country! We made our way back after 2 weeks of fun & discovery, with the last night in Melrose, a nice oldish town. This was the 14th day and last day of our adventure. After finding a few caches in Melrose, we set up on the Survey Road and discovered it was a track. Even better, the adventure continued!Thank you Freddo for creating this EC. So much to discover on that journey, which well remember well! A FP to celebrate our last EC of the outback trip, which was most enjoyable.Greetings pilot03 EC # 978 of 4572 caches
Thats a good hill to ride early before the heat kicks in! Nice view and interesting cache. TFTC
We are off on a trip to the Birdsville Races and then across to Queensland - the plan is for about 6 weeks of travel - all going well.
Week 1 we have travelled from Portland to Farrell's Flat near Clare.
Day 11
Mr Morris headed up the hill while Lady Morris toured around town for a bit.
Information gathered and the answers will be on the way shortly. A really interesting location we wouldn't have found by ourselves.
Thanks for contributing to our holiday

Vic school holidays so kids and I are road tripping to explore the Eyre Peninsula. Now it’s time to meander home! What a great find this is - kids were amazed that it was once a beach! Answers sent. Thanks for the fun and adventure!
It's so interesting that these formations lie beneath the surface all over this area, and only occasionally do we see them exposed in this manner. Amazing. TFTC Freddo.
Wow, amazing how the land changes over time. Some very interesting rock formations here. Answers sent to CO. TFTC
Back when this cat was young, ripples were shoes.
Now even "orientation" has a different meaning
Found with the company and assistance of Sebastbat and Jack today and an answer sent to the professor of earthcaches.

Take care out there, it's a dangerous world filled with rusty mint tins
...... a cache a day keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids.
No apples or other fruit needed An apple a day doesn't keep the doctor away, we've tried that
----------
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!

The end. For now...
until next time!
This was the 10th cache done on a road trip to the Southern Flinders Ranges with Karyn71. A beaut spot with a really good platform of ancient sea ripples. Not worthy of buying a surf board though unfortunately. Answers submitted and confirmed. Cheers.
This was a really cool spot in a really pretty area, and it was interesting to learn more about the geology and history of these ripples. This area is one I'll definitely be visiting again. Thanks to Chookster for his orientation calculations (not my forte!), and thanks to Freddo for this Earthcache and the confirmation that our answers were ok!
what a pretty cool bit of info in a rather hidden area.
we are staying in Melrose for MTB races over the weekend, and as i’m not racing this time i decided to check out a few local caches.

Thanks freddo for this interesting earth cache. It is a place we have also visited previously, without knowing it was a cache. Geology is fascinating, with an old beach now being so far above sea level.
Rising sea levels will shift beaches again.

Day five of a camping trip testing out my new swag. Grabbing a few caches on the way home to Adelaide from the Flinders Rangers.
I am a couple of Earthcaches shy of reaching the requirements for a SFE challenge cache, so I was targeting Earthcaches on this trip.
Answers collected and sent to CO via geocaching message system to which I received a super prompt response (as always) with permission to log.
Thanks for another great Earthcache freddo.

It's been over a year since I wanted to visit the ripples but life kept getting in the way. Weather was good during my visit and I scrambled up the rocks to get a close look at the layers. Thanks for bringing me here. I love earthcaches!
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to Melrose for mountain biking the trails with a few non-geocaching friends. We ended up hiking up to Mount Remarkable on Sunday, and on Monday, we returned to home via Booleroo Centre, Jamestown, and Clare. The weekend had some rain drizzle and crisp mornings, but otherwise good weather for fitness.
Today, we started off the day mountain biking at Bartagunyah Estate. It was only a short duration of riding there before the rest of our group departed back to Adelaide, and jesswrigley and I spent the afternoon hiking up to Mount Remarkable. A long walk with plenty of kangaroos and a couple of snakes spotted, taking about five hours with the various geocache detours.
This was a great site, and a location that I had stopped at previously whilst riding to Bartagunyah Estate on previous trips. However, it was jesswrigley's first time here, who quite enjoyed the quarry site. The answers were quickly gathered for the EarthCache, and the signage was read to inform us of the other geological features here. Thanks Freddo for the EarthCache placement.

A long weekend away with sir_spectre in the Flinders Ranges. We had each been here before and strangely had few double ups so some revisiting was in order to try to get our maps similar. The weather threw everything at us but we just made our plans suit the conditions. Lots of 4WD and walks included.
I needed to complete this earthcache, Wayne had already completed. Logging with permission.
Thanks to Freddo from mogni

We visited this Earthcache today, a glorious sun-shiny day. It was very interesting and soooo accessible. Thanks for organising another history lesson for us.
Travelling with Juju54 so we did this Earth as a team. Thank you for placing the Cache in this interesting TFTC

Driving from Port Augusta til Adelaide, we took a detour to find this cache.
We saw some Ripples up in Kings Canyon.

Something about the day:

From october 16 to november 6 2019, my wife (lp.dk) and I visited Australia for the first time.
After a flight of more than 20 hours, we landed in Darwin. After 2 nights in the city we continued in a rented car first towards Kakadu National Park and later towards Alice Springs.
In Alice Springs we were picked up in an off-road bus and went on a 3-day trip into the wilderness, with overnight stays in a tent close to Uluru.
Back in Alice Springs we drove all the way to Adelaide, from where we flew to Sydney, where we visited our son who has settled there.
After 5 days in the city, we flew back to Singapore, which we visited for 2 days before the final flight back to Copenhagen.
In total, the trip lasted just over 3 weeks.
On the trip we would like to find / visit as many Earth caches, Virtual and Webcams as possible, but also the other kinds of caches when possible.
================================================================================*
No trade.
Found together with lp.dk
Thanks to freddo for this cache.

Cache was found as part of a Simpson Desert trek by Team Waldron, Freddo, Featherwaite, E_Gregory1 and a couple of muggles.
After Coober Pedy it was off to Dalhousie Springs then across the desert to Birdsvaille south to Clayton Springs and then one last night in the Flinders.
A great trip and we even had time for a few caches.
Answer given to cache owner as we drove past.

Found in the company of Freddo, e.gregory1, Team Waldron, occasional cacher out of retirement SteadyOn and muggle friend Tony on our way back home from an awesome trip to the Simpson Desert, staying at Coober Pedy, then camping out at Dalhousie Springs, three nights in the Simpson Desert, Birdsville, Clayton Bore and Aroona Valley. Thanks for the interesting rock feature and Earthcache Freddo!
So after a great weekend of fun, frivolity and food in Quorn we packed up camp and headed back home to Adelaide. We took the scenic route and found 33 caches on our way plus adding 5 new dnfs to our tally.
It was quite overcast but we didn't get wet so that was a bonus. It was nice to see some of these small country towns although we were quite underwhelmed by the Golden North factory at Laura we had been expecting something much grander and a nice ice cream cafe! We had a nice packed lunch at Wirrabra and finally arrived home at 6pm in time to cook a roast supper.
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Quorn another part of the state we would like to explore further.
Couldn't resist one last Freddo cache for the trip so we made the little detour here, read the signs, took the pictures and continued on our way. TFTC Freddo and for bringing us to this interesting spot.

Found over the weekend with Team Gwynne and EKANS, the amount of times we have been past here and never knew it was here, another great history lesson
We left Port Pirie this morning and started out on a cross country route, travellling with ilook4geo. We found a selection of different cache types for the day, including multi, virtual, letter box and traditional.
Stopped to have a look at the fossil rocks here and get the answers to the questions posed. It certainly is interesting to see such a great example of fossils created in a long ago time. Thanks to Freddo for bringing us here to see this feature.

This was a fun caching day as we were travelling through outback SA with goingplaces2. We found different sorts of caches during the day and either signed the logs or sent answers to the CO before logging it as a find. Thanks for the lesson on fossils.
On our two month travelling trip through Austrialia, we are enjoying all the wonderful places and scenery. We will stop on the way to visit some nice caches as well. Interesting spot.

A bit late with logging but I loved finding this spot and thanks for getting us to stop here after a chilly weekend camping!
Walking yet another section of a the Heysen Trail with a cache conveniently located along it. Been to this location many times before I stated caching but now I was able to use the information I had learned. Collected all the relevant information with Malco! and made the journey back to the car. Thanks Freddo for giving me something else to do while out hiking.
This cache is to be found along the Heysen Trail. I don't know if Hans ever visited Melrose, but he may have. If he did, he may have explored this area and seen the ripples. Maybe.
At any rate, we passed the rock formation, read the interpretive signs and gained insight into how these rocks were formed. Facinating stuff.
Csaba! & I (and about 40 others) walked from Murray Town to here, then continued about a kilometre to our cars outside the North Star Hotel. They serve fine ale there. 'nuff said.
Thanks for the education, Freddo

Staying two nights in Port Pirie before heading home and having a day trip around the southern Flinders Ranges. Visited a great variety of cache types and saw some amazing country side. Thank you to all the COs for your effort in placement of caches in interesting places.

found on route to the flinders rangers. 1 of 7 earth caches i did on the trip and the first. quick/easy/interesting earth cache to do.
Great examples of fossilized ripples - again, something new and interesting for me.
Day 4 with micaparamedic, and I'm constantly being challenged to learn new things that were only words in books before this trip. And the phone applications are mind boggling - they need to be understood as well.
These caches were done on the way to Uluru - one of the four important things I wanted to do on my trip to Australia. Well, actually there were five, but I crossed off driving a vehicle on the other side of the road after a few days of being a passenger.
After this stop, it was off to Zone 39 - I am glad it turned out to be a cache and not some exotic other-worldly place to go.
Thanks for showing me something older than myself.

Another great EC whilst making my way up to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. This was day 2 on my northern adventure from Melbourne to the north. I saw this one on the app and decided to make a go for this one. A nice little detour for a really cool collection of stories.

It is amazing how something that is usually so ephemeral can be preserved like this. The ripples look as if the tide has just retreated a few hours ago. I love visiting places like this Thanks for enticing me here and educating memas well TFTC Freddo

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Adelaide to Port Augusta. Some trail caches and others logged on the way.

Owl's parents are hosting visitors from the USA and Owl has been appointed tour guide. This meant a trip north to 'the outback', with a few stops on the way for interesting locations (and the occasional cache). Having dropped the rest off after dinner, Owl went out for what caches she could grab before the light failed. Having checked out the location, she went back to collect the others to come and look at the best seascape they would see that entire trip! Thanks for the tourist tips.
Found with muskcat83 who sent answers and pic with me as i didnt have range. Thanks for the cache

Day twenty one of my across the Nullarbor, then to Perth via Denmark trip. Unfortunately I was now on my way back home after a great couple of weeks getting to Perth, I guess it had to happen at some point. I am now really close to the end, but not before attend the June Long Weekend events in Wirrabara.
I decided to spent the day in Melrose and surrounds. I had decided to focus my trip on earth caches and other rare types, so this was a must do. Nice little spot and an interesting formation.

**Thanks to freddo for the cache. TNLN**

First time geocaching with the kiddles. We found a few really cool spots the other day. Loved this one as we learnt new things too. Thanx for answering our queries, Freddo. Cheers, Waykath wandererz

After a quick rain shower, we stopped here just as everything was drying out .
A couple of hours work would see this neglected (but significant area) looking prisitine again , but it doesn't look like there's been any interest for a few years .
An unexpected bit of geological history .
Took photos, left footprints, signed into the memories of life .
Thanks Freddo.

Visited this spot yesterday on our drive back from the Flinders to Adelaide. Great to see different orientation of ripples in different layers.
Very nice geo outcrop. Favourite point for this one.

a quick detour on the Geocycle and a quick scan of the board and surrounding area and the answers were on hand. thanks Freddo
Logging with permission from the owner. This cache was just what we needed at this stage of the day, seemed everything else we had done today involved walking up a hill! So a drive by was most appreciated. Amazing spot and incredible to think of the changes that have taken place here over millions of years.
On the way here we loved the side road with the massive great gum tree growing in the middle of it. They have just built the road on either side of the tree!
Thanks, wish all earthcaches and virtuals were replied to this quickly.

Interesting to see this beach here so far from the sea now.
Thanks Freddo for the Earthcache and bringing me to see this feature.

On our way back from Whyalla afetr a few days caching, we called into this location and we were so glad that we did. The geological features on display here were superb examples. The distinct layers of different rocks types made interpretation much easier. The answers to the questions have been sent to the CO and permission to log has been received. Thanks Freddo for a great Earthcache - it earns a favourite fom us.
[Red]I apologise for the late log... Problems with GSAK and crashed computer...[/Red]

We left Virginia, and found some caches on the way to Whyalla. The third most populous city in the Australian state of South Australia after Adelaide and Mount Gambier, Whyalla is full of caches! We came for the virtual, we'll take the earthcache as a bonus! Love the history lesson, having a chat with other cachers about the possible answers is much better than second guessing yourself on your own! Thanks for the earthcache.

Earthcache #115
Found on a Road Trip from Mexico to Iron Knob and Whyalla, a) to do some caches and b) a few of us wanted to see this area. A couple of Earthcaches amongst others is always a bonus. This spot seems to be really well preserved, and I enjoyed the History lesson as well. The log was signed by Team Vic. My thanks to freddo for highlighting this spot and bringing us here today. Logging with permission, and adding a fave for the Earthcache. +
