When approaching GZ for the final we spotted a likely looking spot. Hunted around it with no luck. Decoded the hint and decided we were most likely looking in the right place, so hunted some more, but to no avail. Water levels have been high recently; maybe high enough to claim the cache.
Feeling like the Queen of the Jungle after finally ticking this one off my To-Do list. Mane problem this time was my own personal ringmaster cracking the whip from the car, though to be fair it was 3am.
It seemed the perfect day to spent time in the lair. It became a rain shelter on a day the junior muggles were staying home. No need to move aside for trains. Searched thoroughly as per the hint, beginning at waist level. Went higher, no luck. Went lower, no luck.Went outside and around, back in, feeling frustrated again. Dismal day, no torch and just patience as a tool, this cache was not going to defeat us again.
Decided to pace it out again, taking us to the other end. Ignored the hint and got down low...... something ever so tiny was spied. bingo! GOT IT.
Hard to read without contorting the body, but we got it.
Onto the final, and absolutely no problems here.
We've finally got this lair off our DNF list!

Finally brave enough to stick my head in the lion's mouth and the damn beast wasn't there. Hope to see it back soon.
Never attempted this one but if the lair is what I think it probably is (or was) it was removed by the council, for safety reasons I think, despite considerable protest from the populace.
Took a bit of looking to find WP1, but after a bit of thinking and searching I found those numbers.
Went to find the final, but I think it is gone.
Went to find the final, but I think it is gone.
Took a short while in the Lion's Lair, but we found the coords in the end. Got a muddy bum at WP2. Fun times.
I need new eyes... Can't find first coords Even took the wife with me the second time to look lol... Certainly not over yet though! I will be back
FEWF! As they say third time lucky! (with a quick hint from J'N'K) Read too much into the clue... TFTC!!

3rd time lucky on the waypoint today, cant beleave i missed it last time ,cache found nice and easy TFTC
18:30 Finally... Had a couple of goes over the years, cubed. Quick easy find tonight - no crowds Thanks. Cheers, GC.
I think I managed to convince myself that this one was more difficult than it was. It look a little hint from ZathrasH to get me on track. TFTC.
I am visiting from Arizona - out caching with my brother. Swapped TB's. Thanks for the hide!
I looked for the rubic cubes some time ago without luck.Decided to have another go and luckily got update.Took a while until I looked in the correct place.Final a quick find, though awkward.Thanks.
WOW after 4 visits to the lion's lair finally found the co-ord's and found the cache. Very nice FRUSTRATING but nice hide. TNLN TFTC! [:p]
After the forth visit to waypoint one, have finally located the final co'ords! After that, it was a quick find at the final. Feels good to finally tick this one off the DNF list. Dropped off DEFCON Geo Coin. TFTC
I must've spent at least an hour in the lair over the course of 5+ visits, looking all over for the WP1 coordinates, reading every bit of graffiti in the place, with no luck. Finally re-checked the website today and found the extra hint (which cleared up a question I had about whether hint 2 referred to WP1 or the final) and had another look - found what I was looking for in less than a minute.
It wasn't too hard to find the final, although it still seems a little damp. No sign of lions, but beware of the tigger in residence.

Had to come back for this cache a second time really had a problem to find the co-ordintes, but thanx to a tip , got it and that was a very good cache,TFTC
Well, unusually I am drawn to place a rather negative log on this one. We have been here on a number of occasions, during visits from Hamilton, with two attempts this week.
While the concept of this cache is great, and noting we have some similarly-presented multis ourselves, the location of this first waypoint is not great. By not telling finders what they are looking for, the cache makes us troll though panel after panel of offensive graffiti, searching for something that looks like a waypoint.
The location in the middle of a children’s park, with a stage built next to the structure (providing access above) often frequented by hoards of children, makes this a very uncomfortable spot for unaccompanied males to linger.
None of this would be a problem if we had some vague hint on what we are supposed to be looking for – is it a label with numbers on it, or something hand-written written on the boards among the obscene words, or something more cryptic and clever?
If this was a spot where we could enjoy the selected location that cleverly matches the cache name for a few minutes while we find guidance on where to search for a final, it would be a fun cache, but the way it is presented now, I would not recommend it to anyone other than a family group with lots of patience, or someone with access to a PAF for the required real hint.
If the listing changes, we will enjoy returning and finding, or if not, sorry J’N’K, this one will not go on our list again.

We don't agree with the previous DNF comments of radionut50. Many cachers have successfully found and enjoyed this cache. The cache note specifically says that the area is prone to muggles particularly during the school holidays. Sometimes its a fact that you can't do a cache for many reasons. Becoming frustrated at one or more of these reasons doesn't make the cache in itself a poorly designed or executed cache.
You need to allow yourself time to search for the co-ords at a time that allows for you to do this without feeling in some way pressured by influences such as muggles, your own time pressures etc. If in doubt use the clue and with a little patience and a degree of perserverance you will be successful. That being said, we have taken on board some of his comments and recognising that there is always room for improvement we have increased the difficulty rating and modified the hint.

A Mrs B production from start to finish. We were all humbled. TFTC
EDIT: and that was before the new hint and the increase in difficulty! We did have the advantage of 2 young children as cover, and when I am caching alone, I frequently miss having them as a "shield" in locations like this. Mr B

Stumbled on the first clue during our first visit. Easy find on a sunny afternoon. Second clue and cache discovered by my daughter. Great fun!
1530 Miss Geckoh came in handy with this one, far less suspect with a child especially in school holidays. TFTC
At last!! I've been here 5 or 6 times trying to find WP1, getting more and more frustrated...managed to find today with help (thanks cadhakla! ). Nice walk to final and an easy find. Glad to FINALLY tick this one off the list. SL left tigger toy. TFTC Cheers!
Located the Lions Lair on 30 Nov and found some misleading co-ords. Thank you J' N' K for the help with this. Returned today to complete the multi. The final was found without any trouble. TFTC.
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 136. Spotted the info and proceded to find the cache. Thanks.
Nice little multi-cache. Took a while to find the first objective, then nice walk to final location. SL TNLN TFTC
Finally found myself back in the area again today, so stopped off the complete the find. Found the cache quickly, exactly where I expected to find it on the first visit. Glad I did not have to visit the first WP today, as when I passed it I noticed there was a pride of teenage cubs climbing and lounging all over the structure.

Great location, found co-ordinates after a while, found cache with Jedd the fox terrior. TFTH
I came, I saw, I didn't find. Found WP1 after a good search, but I am pretty sure the final is not there. The coords were spot on for a perfect hiding spot, but alas, no container.
Took about 10 minutes to find WP1, Murphy was looking on and it was in the very last place that there was to inspect. I made good use of a torch whilst looking. Final was an instant find. Signed log, TFTC!
have looked everywhere for ages multiple times. even tried going to some of the phone numbers as coordinates. only found the first location marks written in pen. i am so useless.

Note with interest other unsuccessful logs. However, all good today and a quick find before back to Fraser Park for soccer. TFTC.
Looked at this one a while ago while the kids were enjoying the cycleway nearby, but to no avail. Went again tonight and, after nearly giving up again, decided to have a final look for the elusive waypoint after changing my erroneous assumption about the hint. BINGO!
We are new to the geo world....having lots of fun but have been twice to this one now just cant seem to find the WP1. Found a lot of other interesting facts and phone numbers though . Will have to try another day
4.40pm. Suprised at the problems people are having with this first WP. Took a little while but it is in the expected place. Had to wait for gaps in the muggles at the final. This is our nine hundreth find.
Thank you. David and Michael.
Thank you. David and Michael.
On the straight and narrow now, and the lion is roaring. Koala wants to go to Australia and he may well get his wish sooner than he anticipated. Lost of impromptu sport happening right near the lair today--Samoans playing volleyball just by the entrance completely oblivious to me though! TFTC
DNF the first time but enjoyed it! Finding the final cache was ever better! TFTC

MsMagic was suitably amused by the umimaginative and rather earthy graffiti but we only discovered the cache co-ordinates written on the wall and not a lot else. Even the Lion wasn't home. Will have to make enquiries with the Ringmaster.
Too many rude words at WP1 obscuring the ability to see the needed info. Had to give this one away today.
Like Rotting, it took me a second slice at the cherry before I found the elusive co-ords - Dunno how I missed them the first time round (doh). Cracker day for Geocaching and a great spot for the kids

2nd find this evening. Found with 'pride' with help from the uni student. WP 1 took a little finding, quickly done at final. TNLN TFTC
Quick find at the first WP and then a lovely stroll to the final location.. Quick, and easy overall.. Thanks for the cache...
Found with a bit of help from our friends. Think the glasses clue is a good one. Found second GZ and cache no worries. TFTC
WP1 had us searching for awhile. Only a lap each of the liar until one of us spotted it. Cache was quickly found after. TNLN TFTC
Finally !!!! Yah - Went and finally had a chance to do this after a DNF but did it no muggles around. Good puzzle took Sweet 16 TB. TFTC LNSL
Found WP1 quickly this morning. The stick from last time had put us off. Final was also quickly spotted. TFTC.
We decided to tackle this one seeing that there was note that WP1 had been recently replaced. We arrived early so that we could search without worrying about little muggles. Thinking it would be a quick find, boy were we wrong! After searching high and low, we were about to give up when suddenly we spotted the elusive WP1! A very sneaky hide J 'N' K! Don't think it'll be muggled again! With WP1 in hand, we soon found the cache Nice spot. TFTH!
Well I could not find WP1. Two of us looking too. I have tried to find this cache many times, and I know it has changed - but still no luck!
Well we must be going blind! At WP1 we couldn't see anything, again. Wet day, had the Lair to ourselves, stood in there for ages, did a grid search, scrutinizing every word and learning a few new ones but couldn't spot anything that made sense. Maybe we're on the wrong track?
P.S. Did see one likely looking hiding spot that matched the clue exactly but it was empty.
PPS. Something else caught our eye, ....should we?

This is now up and running again after being muggled. Please note the first waypoint has changed from the way we originally made it, so if you printed off the cache page before, you will have to re-read the instructions. Good Luck!
Had a good look at the Lions Lair WP1 and there's nothing here at all! Can't guess where the final is, don't know the area well enough, too many possible places.
fairly certain that part 1 has been removed. Knew where it should have been based on GPS and the clues and the nearby stick. It wasn't there.
Found the second part on clues alone. It was filled with water. Emptied the water, turned it upside down to keep water out, and re-camouflaged the cache.

1st DNF of the day (out of 2) and both to J'n'K! Lots of kids around and we tunneled through to the other side and stood around aimlessly looking obviously derailed... A bolt from the blue struck us, but no chance to investigate, so will have to come back another day. Cheers, GC.
Checked, dried out, new plastic bag, cleaned around seal. Will keep an eye on this one and if it continues to be a problem will have to replace or think of something different.
Dont recomend this cache between 10 am and4 pm in school hollidays as the place was swarming with little kids on bikes other than that great.
Main cache full of water drained but only had my jacket to try to dry on good puzzel.

The first was way under. Way way under. Restashed it a little more accessibly so cobwebs and sludge need not be tackled. Hope this helps.

#133. Thanks for reinstating the first part. We were disappointed when we last came here and couldn't find the rubric cube ... in the rain too. The new puzzle is now simpler, but still does the job well. There was quite a bit of water inside the final cache, and we tried to dry it out as much as we could.

Finally replaced the first part of this cache. Hopefully it will not be muggled this time!
Checked today and the cube is definitely missing, shame as it took a while to make that and its no good to anyone else! Will think about what we're going to do with this cache - either archive it or change it to a traditional one.
Had a really long look at all the likely locations but did not find the cube. Maybe the cube has gone?
nice play with the cube...I could get half of them in the right place then resorted to other tactics to get the final destination...nice hide

Its’ been a few years since we picked up a rubiks cube, eventually solved it, then off to GZ to make an easy find. Thanks for the puzzle.

Neither of us can solve the cube but with logic we solved and had the cache in hand soon enough.
We enjoyed all the caches we visited in a 15 day period and where pleased with the location and the size of the hides. Managed to find at least 1 cache a day and given we have a small baby that is pretty good.

I have to admit to being hopeless at Rubik's Cubes, so had to use a different strategy. Was gratified to discover it worked! TNLNSL.
Found with nzcoozer who did the puzzle for us. Well enough for us to use logic to work out the co-ordinates.
