Had to use a bit of muscle to open the container. Lovely to find one so big. TFTC
Wooo! Very cool, TFTC. Bit overgrown, cane harvester working hard nearby.
Came to Bundy for CCC's (YOF) event and an overnight stop in Maryborough on the way home.Very aptly named as the "road" looked like a farm track by the time I got within cooee of the cache. Didn't like my chances of a find here, as some old logs and debris had been bulldozed into a pile bang on GZ!I'd come this far so decided to have a good poke around and surprise!! The cache was still there! Was an unusual container and seal on it but I got into it and added my name to the log.TFTC
Was super fun to find almost gave up as it started pouring left us dollar for next hunter
We needed a cache starting with R to fill up out caches for the February challenge. This was a great location, quiet except for some spiders and wait-a-while!After a bit of a search we found this large container! The logbook is full, but still room for a stamp or three.TFTC
I think I am going to be embarrassingly one of the first to dnf this cache so many places to prod around amongst the possible snakes in the heat of summer and hard to know if coords are out due to it being an oldie... and in which direction. I. Well try again one day I am sure.
We took the Prado down this road, and it pittered out by the time that we arrived at GZ. Luckily, no weather issues to disrupt the drive, and the cache was a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and it was good to see the original logbook, although it is getting quite full. Thanks Marty&Karen for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 07/2007 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 1000 oldest yet active geocaches.----------During this trip, I travelled with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) (who was visiting from Adelaide, SA) and we visited Maryborough for an extended weekend.Friday was the drive north, which involved the full day with stops in Nambour, Eumundi, Pomona, Gympie, Tiaro, and Maryborough, and highlights included the *Evil* series and the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. The weekend's two days prioritised the *Jolly Brolly Folly* (JBF) series and *Geocaching 101* series, with a Sunday afternoon trip to Utopia Falls. Finally, Monday's itinerary included a few last geocaches that were in town, and we then returned home via Beaver Rock, Maaroom, and Tin Can Bay.A fun and rewarding trip with great company and friends, and we were rewarded with good weather throughout our trip.Today, it was our final day for our Maryborough trip, and [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I had final ambitions for a few remaining *Big Aussie Day Bash* series geocaches that we had yet to visit, and then circling back through town for one last time. We enjoyed seeing Queen's Park and had a late morning tea, and it was on to the Beaver Rock series. A few interestingly themed geocaches using our TOTTs, and then we returned home via the eastern ocean route before going through Gympie. There were a few interesting seaside towns visited, such as Maaroom, Boonooroo, Tin Can Bay, and Cooloola Cove.
The road might be going nowhere but we are elsewhere and there is a road to somewhere. Nice.So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. I was out and about with Ian from Ian and Penny to find some caches in Maryborough today. I was not really too sure of the road to start with (I came in from the Teddington Road side) but the little car did well and got me to GZ where I quickly found the cache. I was not really sure why it was called Road to Nowhere ... but it made more sense when I got to the Bruce Highway end of the road!! TFTC.
Found It!Nice spot for a cache. Drove to the end of the road to nowhere then found the cache after a short search.TFTC
The boys were collecting a few older caches today so we took the Road To Nowhere and soon had our names in the log. Thank you for the fun
Undertaking a whirlwind visit to Maryborough. While here I was able to pick up a couple of caches I need for this month. And as the name states it resides at the end of a road to nowhere!
There is a bit of debris about GZ but it’s not obscuring it at all.

I was up in Maryborough and surround caching grabbing a few I need. This was one on my list. It was a long day today.
I had lots of fun today. Couple of the caches we Paf information.
The funny part I left few good D/T caches behind for next month or the next one after that.
Marty&Karen thank you for placing and for maintaining this cache for my enjoyment.

Another big day out in the Habanero Sport with Patrol14 & TMZ59…The plan/idea/couple of thoughts strung together, is to try and clear the map between Tiaro & Maryborough…
Seems like Maryborough was the place to be over Easter, couple more cachers and it might have been a Mega…
It’s not everyday you find a 16 year old cache with an original log book… and a container you’ve never seen before…
Thanks Marty&Karen

Out for the day with Peppa and TMZ59 and are caching around Maryborough and surrounds to find a few more caches.
Definitely a road to nowhere and happy to pick up this oldie and what an unusual container. Loved that the original logbook is still in use.

Very different cache. Awesome. Back in Maryborough area to grab some more caches. Out with my Geo friends, patrol14 and Peppa. What a lot of fun today has been. TFTC
Seffnjarah and I have planned a big day caching today around Maryborough, with the intention of heading towards Mt Walsh tomorrow. The early morning drizzle and rain wasn't going to stop us. After a quick breakfast, we fueled up and hit the road at first light.
We followed the road, which quickly appeared to be going nowhere. A short walk later and we had the interesting container to hand. Seff struggled to open it, but got there eventually with some advice. I have seen these container before, but never seen one used as a geocaching container. They are certainly well suited. Signed with the Bromance team stamp in the first available location in the logbook. Many thanks Marty and Karen

After other family arrangement for the break fell through, I was lucky to score a ride with Crookedpete for an Easter weekend geocaching road trip from Brisbane to around Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Mt Walsh and surrounding areas. We left Brisbane yesterday around 1pm and battled the early holiday traffic, arriving in Maryborough last night. Our plans were to camp beside the roadside somewhere and were carrying the appropriate gear. A check of the weather forecast on the drive up showed some inclement weather coming, with possible storms so we chickened out and booked some last minute hotel accommodation in town.
This morning we faced steady, drizzling rain for most of the morning as we worked our way through the various caches on our to-do list, but it had eased of by the time we reached GZ of this cache. Crookedpete was the first to spot the cache and handed it for me to perform the signing duties. Although I managed to open the locking device, my brain didn't quite grasp how to open the container. Crookedpete came to the rescue and showed just how easy it was.
The logbook was stamped with The Bromance team stamp (a slight liberty, with only 2 of the usual 4 members present on this trip, but we are hoping to avoid RSI with the number of caches planned on our itinerary ). TFTC

Out caching with CaptainVimes. We made a quick find. I've never seen a container like it. Thanks for the fun Marty&Karen
Some time after the falling out between the Fairy Queen and the King of the Elves, the Queen somehow tricked the Nac Mac Feegle. They rebelled, broke away from the rule of the Queen, and took up residence on the Discworld as free agents. They remember vehemently with the battle cry: "Nae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master! We willna be fooled again!"
Was not sure if the cache was going to be there as it is a road to nowhere. What a great cache nice and big and clean. It's much better than a micro in the bush. Fun find. A favourite point for us ..This is our 4500.find.ya
TYFTC wear good sturdy shoes. Lots of twigs and leaves so be careful. There is a small boggy area halfway along the track so we had to walk.
Rather embarrassing to suggest to my caching companions today that we should stop here and collect this oldie. Then there was silence after I was asked for the cache name, GC code and general location of the hide. I was then corrected with a, 'you logged this cache back in May 2022 . . .', with the same companions. It appears my admin skills are deteriorating. At least this admin error is now corrected. I wonder how many more I've missed!! Cheers Marty&Karen for the hide.

While staying up at Maryborough for a few days we cached around the district and further afield. This was a difficult cache to find and took far too long but we eventually got it. No snakes were seen. Log signed before replacing as found. TFTC
To to hard but to easy, through the logs and sticks look under things, on top of things and in things!
Accurate coordinates made this a quick find , all's good at gz . Thanks Marty&Karen
Not sure whether we found the correct way into this one, but we drove reasonably close and stopped before the bog hole. Walked the last 100 or so metres and thought we were going to be disappointed as there was a relatively newly pushed up pile of debris and logs right on GZ. We went round, and there was the cache right on the edge safe in its place.
Day 4 & 5 in Maryborough. We thought we would continue to look around town and spend our time caching here. It didn't quite work out as we thought as there were a number of caches in parks and reserves and we ventured wider as well. A good variety of caches and hides all in generally good condition. We had mixed results on a number of tree fishing attempts. Some we just couldn't spot, others we couldn't reach with our fishing pole. Will have to look at some further modifications when we get home! We did manage to get a couple though!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Marty&Karen.

Came at it from the north I think.
Cheers for the cache

Out at night continuing to cache with The Bug. The GPSr bought us in from the east which is not the best approach and the neighbour has a large dog on the loose so we doubled back to come in the western side via the highway. Things change quickly and on reaching a bull dozed section we thought the cage may have gone but we soon made the find and completed the signing duties. TFTC.
Collecting oldies whilst in the area! I was suffering cache blindness so had to call on my buddy for help!! TFTC
We are on our way to spend Easter in Maryborough with Youngoldfella.
We found the road to nowhere and a very interesting cache.
Log signed and cache replaced as found on April 14, 2022. TFTC, Marty&Karen

Took the opportunity to get away for the weekend to Maryborough. The roads are busy so it was good to take a break here and there for a cache or two.
Travelling & Caching with RoddyC and YOF.
Great to see these oldies still in play.

Up early and travelling, grabing a few caches of interest on the way though. A bit if zig-zagging up the A1 never hurt anyone! TFTC.

What a great cache. Well hidden in beautiful part of the area. Kids loved the uniqueness of the vessel. Thank you!
Very interesting container. The challenge is getting it open. Watch those fingers.
Driving past on a cache collection day. Can’t bypass an oldie. What an unusual container!
Very weird container in very good hiding place we even saw a goanna doing a poo and a dead kangaroo
I was on a mid-week work run up to Bundaberg and desperately needed to break up the drive. Actually what I needed was to offload some coffee and then find somewhere else that sold more coffee.
Surely by now I would have learnt not to start a road trip with a takeaway drink. It never ends well but but for some reason I keep making the same mistake…
Thankfully this cache broke up the trip perfectly although there was a crisis brewing. tftc

28/8/21 Find #4965
Today called for a spontaneous journey north with Fangsoki and Pprime. We decided to head towards Maryborough in search of a couple of archived caches before heading out to Tuan Forest. Along the way I checked and noticed a couple of older caches that I was particularly keen to collect as well. This was one of them.
Both the lads had done this one previously, so this was just a quick stop for me. Now my map shows this as a road that goes through, however the lads didn’t agree. We approached from the direction they knew and were soon at GZ. While I did the cache honours (man that was a tight seal!), Pprime scouted out the “road” from here. Turns out the road to nowhere actually does go somewhere!
Thanks for the cache Marty&Karen.

Heading North on a roadtrip, with a list of powertrails, solved puzzles and plenty of other caches to find. Now that's an original container, wonder what it's from.

Day four of our visit to beautiful Maryborough and continuing to work our way through finding all the local and a few outer suburb caches. It was extremely overcast for the majority of the day but the compass never faulted and led us to every GZ without any hassles.
Nice drive and a quick find for us here, good hint.

Heading to Hervey Bay for a few nights for my eldest daughters birthday. Day 1 found 2 caches, day 2 found 1 cache, day 3 found 29, day 4 found 56.
Few DNF's, and recovering from an MCL tear in my knee, there were a few I didn't even attempt, and some I shouldn't have attempted but did...and now sitting on the couch having a celebratory scotch, am certainly paying for it.
First off, I love this song. Some good old school music! Secondly, love a cache thats a decent size! None of this nano or micro rubbish! Although I did find plenty of them this trip. Jumped out of the car, and noticed the ever present geo trail which led me to the rough area. Found some suspicious rocks who wouldn't tell me what they were doing and after a bit of persuasion, they revealed the cache.
Thanks for the cache **Marty&Karen**

Had almost given up hope when we noticed the telltale slightly worn track through the grass! TFTC xx
We were looking for this one the other day, but we were on the wrong road with cane fields in the middle, today we came on the right road. Walked around then spotted the area, a nice big container. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to Marty&Karen.
TFTC,
After some retail therapy, we took the time between rain showers to grab some caches. Tried this one yesterday from the wrong side after a trip to the weir. Easy find today.

After a long weekend of caching as a group it was now time to depart and start grabbing a few of my own to fill in some blank areas of interest. Most of these were park and grabs or very short walk types. This was one of those, not an oldie yet but one it will be and seeing as though I had a little time left in the day I thought a short drive over to grab this one was in order. A drive down a dirt road to where it ends to find an old Optus cable pot as the container, very interesting. A quick park and grab and all good with this cache. With log signed and cache returned it was off to complete the others in this area. Thank you it for placing here.
We were able to drive to about 12 meters from GZ where we discovered to unique cache! Great one. TFTC
Another great day out caching around Maryborough mainly on side road in the forest. Had to finish on this one because we have a cache with the same name between Landsborough and Maleny. Most unusual container, signed log and returned all in good condition. TFTC Marty&Karen
