As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

New container made, new location scouted, but a couple of attempts at placing it have been thwarted by persistently loitering muggles.
A night-time attempt at placing it will be made this week (weather permitting)

[We found the location where this cache should have been today. The] "awesome magnets" [are still in place, but no sign of any cache, neither the original nor the more recent plastic container replacement. Also ] due to recent reed planting and the placement of protective plastic mesh, this cache is now quite hard to reach without causing plant damage. [This cache needs some attention.]

28-Sep-09
Hmmm... might need to re-roll this one a little.

10-May-09
[We went there a few weeks ago... Visited two separate places before I managed to get the coordinates correct. (Thanks to having "the obvious" pointed out to me.) When we reached the right place -- council workers were planting reeds, working their way round to where we wanted to search.
So we went back today, since we were just passing by. Took a while -- almost gave up -- but finally found the cache.]

As the new reeds grow, it will be harder to reach...

Even after working at the casino for 21 years this one was a head scratcher.

More luck than skill, Its the casino all over.

Did this one in the company of AlliedOz. A cleverly thought out cache and gz was in a nice location. Thanks Bear_Left

19-Mar-09
Replaced with a small Systema, just a logbook, pen and stashnote (to reduce the chance of another muggling.)

Lunchtime on a sunny Autumn day is not a good time to attempt this one! I took me quite awhile to get a clear chance to replace it without being seen.

Ian,

The cache is gone. All that is left is a piece of tape and two washers. And the Ausome Magnets. Left my note to claim a find. It can be the start of the new logbook.

The travel bug could have been placed there. But no I have left it at the hotel for you to pick up.

Regards

Freddo

PS Looks like a jetty to me. Not a pontoon.

Found after a lot of searching on the web, much gnashing of teeth and scratching of head and even then only by ignoring the east coords and acting on a hunch. Sadly, the cach itself was easy to find once at the GZ as it was laying out from its home on the floor and open to the weather. However, there were stilll some trades inside along with a good condition log book and the "Sandy" travel bug. I did my best to put the cache back where it came from and removed the TB for safety and to move it on. TFTH.

We worked the location out for this cache whilst we were in the UK, stupidly I calculated X-1 powered by Y instead of X powered by Y. However I caught the mistake this morning before we went out. We parked up on the road to the south and had a quick find at GZ.

The odds of finding this one are improved with a little research. Cracked the puzzle and rolled the cache. TNLNSL TFTH

Another rewarding Bear_Left cache. A very pleasant place to visit on a beautiful Autumn day. TNLN. TFTH.

We had an opportune moment to drop in on this cache -- A Muggle free day made for an easy find. No swaps. Thanx for the great puzzle, what did we do before Google?

Arrived: "Sandy" who would like to make her way up to Monkey Mia.

Our second find for the day with about a billion muggles out and about enjoying the beautiful day and the follow up Anzac picnic. Everyone from young couples to multi generations of families and friends. What a great city we live in!!! Rode our deadlies in pursuit of this puzzle cache where we had done the research at home and ended up not where we had expected at all! Located the cache in an area that was relatively muggle free but Mrs Hallows then had a bit of a struggle to replace the cache because as Bear_Left indicates "it only fits one way when you replace it". Problem eventually solved and cache securely back from whence it came. Thanks for the chance to stretch the brain cells and the legs, Bear_Left. TNLN SL

We had been out here before for this cache but we are obviously not gamblers as we had a wrong number in our calculations. Bear_Left set us straight, we recalculated and today we found the cache after a wait for the muggles to disappear. Great hide. Retrieved the Travel Slug and Men of the Trees GC. Thanks 4TH and the puzzle.

Just dropping a coin into the cache on behalf of Bear_left.

In from the USA on business and thought I would log an Australian cache. Worked out the coords. with some friends and went out to look. Looked and looked but never found it. Maybe better luck my next trip down under.

29-Dec-07
Some calculation following some googling came up trumps! Got a little tricked by the word "payout" - should it be "odds" instead?
Amazingly there were no muggles here in this beautiful place on a beautiful weekend afternoon, so no problems with poking around.
TN Left $2 note and Travel Slug #3 TB. Thanks for a fun hunt, Bear_Left.

Found by Mary & David at 1205. Came here after a long morning tea chat with Everlasting and Varuna. Able to get a quick grab between the muggle lunch traffic. Another gorgeous day and we will be so sorry to leave Perth on Sunday. TNLN. Many thanks to Bear Left.

Dropped by at 8.30 am on way to airport to log the find. Hope replacement cache lasts longer than previous one - looks quite secure. Very quiet morning with no one about.

1530: Thanks goodness, there was no muggles in sight when I arrived at GZ on the dizzly day. Liked Bear_Left's style cache. No swaps. Thanks for challenge and the cache.

14-Sep-07
Temporary cache is back in the same spot, but not in the same form. Grab while it's easier to find!

09-Sep-07
Arrived at location at 8.20pm but could not find cache although found the likely site. Returned again at 9pm to recheck in case another cacher had removed to write up log. Cache still not in position as there is evidence of where it was. Looks like it has been muggled.

09-Sep-07
We are going to log this as a find even though the cache was not there. We did spend two weeks googling every gambling site to find answers. Our co-ords were pretty close and after a few minutes searching we found the magnets but the cache was not attached. Got to GZ at 8.20 pm and went back again at 9 pm just in case another cacher had removed to write log - but alas still not there.

09-Sep-07
Sorry to report cache was not attached to magnets.

Bugger! I'll leave this for a couple of weeks while I build a new container and, hopefully, give the thieves time to forget about it...

Found the cache at 12.05pm. Excellent one!!! Took geocoin. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.

Think we have it figured, will try it out on next trip to Perth.

24-Aug-07
Hint added (for placement, not puzzle)

22-Aug-07
I was on the right track, but a couple of slight errors in my calculations had me in the wrong places twice, so I went through my maths with a fellow geocacher and soon came up with the right numbers.
Found the cache yesterday on a very wet afternoon, which was great as there were no muggles around, and gave me lots of time to replace the cache in its rightful spot.
Took the Canberra Casino TB, Left CC Geocoin. Thanks for the fun puzzle as always!

Found it with mum. Took a couple of goes.

My co-ordinates were wrong but not by much. Another place close by to have a look and stumbled over it after the lunchtime muggles departed. Left a trackable as it is the closest it will get to the casino. Bub wanted to take the whole cache as she wouldn't let go when we were ready to put it back.

Catching up on the logs I missed when first found Red Face

Still haven't sent the bill for my dry-cleaning yet have I?

19-Aug-07
Although I didn't know it, I arrived and left the cache location before bariloche. I had trouble working out one of the coordinates and had actually searched the cache location on a hunch without finding the cache.

I then returned home and sent off a query to BL but before receiving a reply Viper pointed out a combination that pointed me directly where I had searched before so off we went.

On arrival I still couldn't see the cache but Viper eventually found it in a spot she had searched before. (She says the bill for the drycleaning is in the mail)

Unfortunately bariloche had found the cache by this time so we both missed out on the FTF.

Thanks for the cache.

FTF. A reasonably straight-forward calculation. When I arrived at the calculated location it was obvious that I was in the right place (for reasons I won't disclose). I looked in all the obvious places, but just couldn't see the cache. I must have walked around it on my knees (getting quite wet)about 20 times but still couldn't find it. I was ready to give up and record a "Can't Find" when I decided to walk off in the opposite direction a couple of hundred meters and approach from there. I was led exactly to the same place, had another look, and there, right in front of me, where I must have looked a dozen times already, was the cache - as obvious (now) as all-get-out. As PBL says, "it is reasonably concealed from casual observation". Another example of hiding things right in front of your eyes. Great cache. TNLN, TFTC.
