28-Sep-09
Well, done to Mollymop and WallyOne!!

We could not find this at all even though we checked both sets of co-ordinates. After a while the location reminded us of our great nemesis cache 'Bon Voyage' in Christchurch, so we decided to move on.

28-Sep-09
Great spot for a cache.TFTC.Smile

27-Sep-09
I thought this was going to be a dnf but was an easy find. TFTC

12-Sep-09
[Tried both sets of coordinates,] looked under the pine tree and the branch hanging down Also did a swift check on the coprosma nearer the bank.[ but still didn't find the cache. By the look of the vegetation, a whole army has been through here looking, too.
GZ for me was right over on the edge of the bank, maybe its been washed out to sea! - or maybe serious cache creep has occurred.]

Logging finds from ages ago....tftc

18-Aug-09
Well overdue for a logging session - will have to get better at logging! TFTC

18-Aug-09
Took a bit of hunting but found it in the end. The cache is a bit wet. We once again got doggled (being muggled by a dog) which seems to be something that happens a lot on the Johnny goes caching trips.

18-Aug-09
Found with Johnnys grew this one took a while but still found it in the end. TFTC

29-Jun-09
A nice drive down the coast on the way home from Dunedin. As with other comments the cache is damp, however we have put the log book in a seperate plastic bag.TFTC

02-May-09
Easy find with updated coordinates. Found at the end of another glorious Otago Autumn day spent at Brighton beach.

Cache is a tad damp and needs a bit of TLC.

TNLN. TFTC.

19-Apr-09
We were looking in the wrong area until we updated the cordinates, then it was quite easy to locate cache.
There was water in cache and log book quite wet.
Lovely spot and great view of beach with not many muggles about. TNLN Ashsal.

18-Apr-09
Easy enough find after we updated the coordinates, then the hiding place became quite obvious. Cache needs some maintenance, see our notes. TNLN. TFTC. Ashsal.

07-Feb-09
Although we weren't collecting the letters we managed to get quite a few during the couple of days we spent in the Dunedin area.

03-Feb-09
A quick drive up then a bit longer to get to GZ, got halted by something prickly trying the cacher line so took the long way around. TNLN Thanks.

02-Feb-09
Toooo much gras. Smile

24-Jan-09

Lovely wee walk, many thanks.

No probs with the find, though a muggle has found it, it seems.

TFTC

01-Dec-08
First you find the track that leads past the spot... removed an old pair of shoes and a beer bottle, so the cache camouflage stood up to some strange company. Ooh, an "N"! Lovely deserted beach this evening. TFTC.

16-Nov-08
Had almost given up hope of finding this one then happened to hit the top of cache what luck. TNLN TFTC

25-Oct-08
Took the straight line approach as I tend to do and can report there is a lot of blackberry in this area Red Face Found a nice track to walk back on though, think I got the feel of the area (ouch!).

2261. This is a lovely looking beach and the roar of the ocean was almost a soothing sound.

The cache and contents are a little damp but the logbook is dry.

Thanks

28-Sep-08
Nice beach. Christopher took out a monster, left a whistle and wanders down the beach roaring like a monster.

26-Jul-08
Easy find, should be "S for Soon be on the beach given the rate of erosion". Take large rubbish sacks, perhaps this is how the City is managing its waste disposal.

09-Jun-08
A quick and easy find on a dismal day. Suprisingly scenic! My first alphabet trail cache, TFTC!

22-Apr-08

We went for a climb up the heavily eroded bank.

29-Jan-08
This one caused us some problems despite the excellent hint. Eventually found it where I expected it to be, maybe it's time to take a trip to the opticians.

10-Jan-08
just completing routine cache maintainence and all was in order and has stood the test of time admirably. Also picked up the Smiley TB to take onto the next cache we visit today.

Thanks Bitsprayer

20-Oct-07
Found the Kiwi here but had to use the clue. Easy to find general location but well hidden. We got our 'N".

13-Oct-07
Oops, I should have looked at the cache page as some time elasped after printing it and going there and I didn't have the amended co-ords or the clue.

As easy find today and I can laugh at the spot where someone (me) has been scratching away a wee while ago near GZ.

04-Oct-07
Amended coordinates were spot on. A nice walk.
- finger puppet + paddlepop magnet from "Green Island". Also grabbed a letter.
TFTC.

09-Sep-07
Did a quick check on the cache and dropped in One Wet Kiw for a stay by the sea. All in order.

Hmm no luck here, I will return

Had report that potentially gone AWOL, but glad to say all safe and well. Extracted Mustang Sally TB as intending to visit a few caches over next few days and he is soooooo cute so will move him on within a few days. Added more letters. Left some more swaps in too.

25-Aug-07
Sigh, now I've no idea where its supposed to be, the co-ords the obvious tree somewhere else...

19-Aug-07
10m out for me too. Didn't take too long to spot. Cheers. TNLNSL.

12-Aug-07
Found it by using the fact that it is in front of different tree as GPS had us 10 metres away. Lovely morning before a change in the weather. Off orienteering after the find.

10-Aug-07
At friends in near by house, so took them along to find it. A very wind but warm night!
-letter, TFTC

08-Aug-07
Gorgeous day at the beach today. Knew where I was going having been here on Monday so didn't use GPS. Still took a minute or two to find the cache in the vegetation though. First cache located using my new "Cachemobile". I was becoming concerned at how caching was causing the mileage to rack up on my good car and my "carbon footprint" so have purchased a cheap little 850cc Daihatsu (NZ new, 2 lady owners, service history, only 33 000km!). Should keep the kms down on the good car and reduce my fuel use and emissions. And it's a ball to drive- reminds me of my first car which was a Mini but this should be a heck of a lot more reliable.

07-Aug-07
Thats more like it Smile Thanks for the quick fix Hexy
FTF, a quick find, the area had been well turned over since I was last there ! Grabbed a letter.

'N'ot so difficult this time! Spent quite some time watching the waves against the nearby sand face, great place. Thanks.

07-Aug-07
'N'ever even turned the GPS on today - went straight to the tree I had searched yesterday, and there it was.
I wonder under what tree the cache was hidden originally? I had checked them all in a radius of 20m. I could only see one other specimen like the one the cache is hidden under, well over 50m away - and I had searched that one, too!
There's some fresh dog poop marking the turn-off to the hide - fellow cachers, mind your step!
- Rolling Stone TB and fridge magnet
+ Mustang Sally TB and air-travel eye covers
Thanks for a cache in a beautiful location

07-Aug-07
Have to say dog poo not our responsibility! We are people who CITO where possible and seeing as we had cleared 2 bags of rubbish from car park after setting cache, we certainly would not be responsible for dog fouling. Felt a little wounded by the inferrance here!

06-Aug-07
No joy on the FTF here...off down the coast I go
Had a good look around, but not to be !

06-Aug-07
"Not on the Beach" and, I fear, "Not Anywhere Else". Arrived at GZ to find nofs on hands and knees. He had given the area a thoroughly going over (just thought, geocachers would be ideal people to perform search warrant turnovers for the police) but found nothing. Had a quick look about myself and concurred. So that's three DNFs. Fear there might be a problem Sad

06-Aug-07
'N'ot found. I was 15 minutes behind Nofs and U.N.C.L.E., and gave it a good search again after finding 'R' - 45 minutes all up.
Well, that's 4 DNFs for this cache now, I wonder indeed if there is something wrong. A spot 8m from GZ fitted the hint OK, but no luck Sad

06-Aug-07
We have visited the site this evening and followed the faithful GPS and what a surprise, it took us to the tree you have all been searching under!! The cache was actually around 20m away under another, Nerd part of Hexy has been severely reprimanded for lack of accuracy by Bossy Part of Hexy. Sorry for the inconvenience, cache is now where you should expect it. Accuracy circa 8 meters, [and there is a branch determined to trip you up, and it is somewhere around there!]

Sorry fellow cachers for the wasted trips! Surprised
