# 3820. We were staying directly opposite these red sails - pretty impressive. The CO and I visited WP1 and indeed it did seem to be missing. Over to GZ where it took me a long time to locate the very well hidden cache. Don't know what other people have been signing as the last one in here was Roostaman I think. Maybe there are 2 caches here. TFTC
This series has been taking up prime positions around Sale for too long. Time for something new for the locals to do.
Thanks to all the cachers who have helped with maintenance of this series over the years.

Bit of a nightmare at wp1 so just took a guess and found it instantly. I dare say this might be due for disabling if the first part isn't found soon. Tftn
# 5465 Found on a warm evening first trip around the middle of Sale.
Nice and quiet and no muggles around while I was here.
I had a bit of help from a previous finder here, and had a good search around at GZ.
It is well hidden and still very safely in place. Nicely done.
TN LN SL Thanks for the Cache Robmc,

While Mr X was working in the area I took the advantage of checking out a few in the area. I gave WP1 a good going over with out any success and then bought back MrX for extended look without any luck. I amazes us that you can guess WP2 from the name.
We will have to leave this for another vist.
We enjoyed the art work and the vistors kiosk was very helpful.

Interesting message at WP1. Previously we had found this but had difficulty reading the numbers, so missed finding WP2. This time someone has exchanged the essential numbers for what looks like a shopping list! Could someone who knows please check this for us!
Maintenance run through the Port of Sale.
Looked like the cache had been going down the river - wet log.

Travelling to Bairnsdale for a family celebration and stopped off for this one. Turned out to be a quick find although it was a clever hide. Took TB. Hope to send it overseas. Thanks for the cache- wish I was a kid again and then I could play on the paddle steamer.
found it but it was wet, couldn't write on log. it needs replacing, nice cache though
great camoflaghing of both caches! not a very good place for kids with all those spiders! we dropped off Bruce the Thylacine travel bug and picked up geocoin.
great camoflaghing with both caches! not a very good place for kids with all those spiders! dropped off travelbug Bruce the Thylacine and picked up a geocoin. The peice of paper at waypoint 1 was unreadable and it looked like a list of things to remember was written on it!
With some help from Robmc we gave this one another try and found it in no time! We understand what everyone is saying now about great camoflague, we've never seen anything like it but it's given us some great ideas. Thanks for the cache.

Eighth cache down during a day Caching in Sale Loved this one!!! Spent a while at the start looking in the wrong place for the first clue just cause we didnt follow instructions right but got on track and soon had it in hand. Brilliant Camo on both hides. TFTC
Found with the Earthbound Family on our way to Metung for the easter weekend. TFTC
This was tricky. there was an indian family here that thought we were mad. I'm sure they left because we we were wandering around and through the playground. We did have a 7 year old with us so I didn't think we were too weird. We found it eventually.
First waypoint was soggy so co-ordinates are fading. Got to GZ and EB Nano was delighted it took us a while to locate the cache. He figured it meant he had longer to play! TFTC
Found with HangFire7 at 4:50pm. So very well camouflaged! Loved how this one gave us the next clue to the next cache, then again so very well hidden.TFTC
Well we wished we left this for our 600th cache, we did not know how good it was.
It is our 599th.... And it was a great cache, fantastic camo.
Well done Robmc, I had no chance of finding it, Mrs Madstars took the honours.

Found By Bevfre 2.30pm This one like the hides in Bendigo TN LN SL Thank You Robmc & brotherinfuencne
We visited the Info Centre to find out some things to do in Sale for the rest of the day (unfortunately EuDes herself isn't overly enamoured with geocaching sometimes ) but this one was too close to pass up. We found the first WP quite quickly but did note that it is absolutely saturated, although it is still readable.
Off we headed to GZ for the search where, thankfully, the chilly weather had kept other kiddies well away but even so, the stash was proving somewhat elusive. Thankfully, EuDes herself's interest in the play area allowed me more than the usual amount of time for a search . Just as her interest was seriously waning and it looked like I might have to give it all up for a DNF, I found the very clever hide at 11:10. Phew [^].

Found the first location easily, BUT the second had us stumped despite the fact the two GPSrs pointed to the same place! The paperwork in the first location is very soggy and hard to read. Assume we had the correct coords.
On our way home today and decided to check this cache after a couple of DNF's - Cache is happy and hiding in its usual place.
In sale for the night, on way to work. Found first waypoint, found clue, but no luck finding GZ. Spent a while on my knees with my head in the ground. Will have another go when I am next back!

The family had stopped for info, and wanted to extend our holiday by another day but where - we wanted to camp somewhere on route to home maybe a little info could help us? So while the family way steaming away, I crossed the road (frogger style) and was off and sailing with the next set of coords at wp1 - back at GZ however I could not convert, I even got down on my hands and knees but no luck today - maybe on our next visit - now back into town for lunch in the park......

Me and my friends went out for lunch and they said "hey let's go find those containers you talk about" I think it's funny when we go because they get so excited when they find it and so frustraited when they don't. So off to the red ship we go... I looked straight at the thing 4 times before one of my friends said is this it??... Once we had that, we headed to our location, I think we were there for about half an hour before I actually decided to think about what I was looking at and then sure enough we got it!!!:) I swear that my other friend was just playing on the equipment rather than actually helping us look!! Tftc!!!
We found this cache as the final of 43 on our Sale or No Sale Tour with Alansee, Pprass and Acts2YouthGroup. All the others had finished their list but in passing this one on the way one, I got the opportunity to catch up by one more cache. Late in the caching day, it was now quite dusk and I received many unsolicited hints but after a big day out, I took them all on board so that we could head off to Traralgon for a pizza dinner. I have been looking forward to doing this series for ages and today, we got to give it a red hot go but I still left two behind so we shall return. Thanks from D B-A.
Had some fun with this one as we don't own a GC kid and there were none around to adopt so Mr B pretended to be a kid again (pretended?) and retrieved the cache whilst I kept a watch for muggles and fortunately there weren't any around despite it being a lovely day. Took the TB Tin Lid and will email Darkandstormy the number. TFTC
On the way down to the Stargate to 'see off' a TB, we (Mrs Biggles and I) thought we would seek out a few local caches and what better place to start then as you enter Sale itself! Parked the car further down the road and then the hunt was on! Pegged the final cache location without too much trouble although I must have looked like the village idiot to the few nearby muggles who were startled by an elderly child scampering around laughing maniacally. Anyway I had to wait until the area was clear before retrieving it so we went off and bought ice creams (Hmmm. It was a treat as I was good boy for finding the cache!)
Very clever cache camo and hides!
Mrs B took a TB but we didn't take any of the Pathtags that had been left there as they weren't attached to anything and we were unsure of what to do with them.
Onwards to the next Port of Sale cache!

Not too far from here is a great site for the Geokids to play, and while M went straight to the play ground I headed off to gather the clues. Interesting sculpture and I can see the resemblance to the name. I gathered M and we searched the GZ for about 10 minutes to find the hide. Very clever! Logged our visit and left Tin Lid TB. Forgot to write down the ID number so I cannot log the pickup or drop. Hopefully the next cacher to grab it can email me the number so I can log its movements and the photo's we took. TFTC. KeMs
Its taken 3 months for the Rocky Glen Grommets to return but we did - and this time we found the cache! We were happy with our find but we had to refer back to notes and previous logs to keep hunting. Thanks for bringing us here (twice!) - we enjoyed it.
Found after a few quiet ones on an overnight stay at the nearby caravan park. Took forever to get the bark chips out of my coat. Not required though!

Found the first hide really quickly, not so the final! It didn't take long to find a really good spot for it to be hidden, but a bit of tapping & prodding convinced me it wasn't there. As it turned out some time (and a hint) later, I was wrong! Enjoyed the vessels though.
Found at 0945 hours, Found WP 1 then proceeded to GZ, found after about 10 minutes searching, great hide.

Decided to finally stop and get this one after many trips past it.... Finding the clue was quick enough and returned us near to the parked car. But the final hide proved elusive until a last scope around which finally found it. Neat hide...
Dropped off GoEast geocoin (which has been nabbed and logged before I even got to! ) and took hi pressure's coin...

It's taken some time. Intermittent visits to Sale saw us taking a few minutes each time to tackle this one.
We found the details in the red ship after two tries several months apart, but time was the problem and we knew we had to come back to finish it.
Then another two tries to check for the cache itself. A difficult hide and hard to search properly with muggles about and no little kids to hide behind.
A quiet evening tonight, and a bit of luck and we had it.
A very enjoyable challenge. TFTC TNLNSL

This is a top cache. WP1 is very nicely done, the cache itself is a work of art. Howey and I thank-you for a job well done. TFTC.
GREAT HIDE, RobMc & BI have gone to a lot of trouble on this one. Wood not have found it with out the clues, Steel it was very well done. Sticking with the nautical theme Jimmymaff and I left fishing lure and took periscope. TFTC.
Cleverly Hidden! Found it on a girl day out, just in a nick of time too as Muggle children apeared just as we left... TFTC Brilliantly done.
Rocky Glen Grommets found the first stage but were unsuccessful in the second - came home and have reread ALL the cache notes and who knows??? may even get back to Sale tomorrow to check it out a bit more closely (unless Robmc want's to give us a clue?????) We will try again but it may not be this time round.

Found waypoint 1 in the company of Squashedfrog and her dog, Charlie. A nice easy find and onto the second waypoint. Thankfully we had no trouble with little muggles but some big ones eating luch a little way away must have thought we looked rather odd!
Charlie started the digging although we knew we didn't need to but we started getting a little frustrated after a good 20 min of searching. Decided to go but thought I would do one more sweep thinking a little more deviously and hey-presto found it straight away. [Had already pushed on spot twice already, should have thought about why those damn screws were there!]
Thanks for a very challenging and enjoyable (once I found it!) cache.

[Found WP1 okay, WP2 took a bit of searching. Lucky I had my kids to help, or it would have looked a bit weird spending so long on a kids play area.
As for the geocoin: I forgot about it when I found the cache. I don't think it is in WP2 though. Didn't really look in WP1 - just took down coords of WP2 and closed lid. Is that where it is? Might go back and look in WP1 again.
Possible spoiler alert:]
1. You don't need to go off the beaten track. My GPS initially had us trekking trough the creek.
2. You don't need to feel around anywhere for either. You can see them both. There are LOTS of spiders around this place, including funnel webs. Not really nice to put you hand up all the ledges.

I thought I had discovered the clues for WP2 but for every combination I ended up on private property and not where I expected to be. A revisit to WP1 demonstrated that I had looked at the waypoint object but failed to see it for what it was and had ignored all the clues and information in the script. Had some issues with muggles at the final WP. My pretence of doing a structual inspection revealed an element not necessary to the structure. A great hide. Swopped a hole punch for a whale.

WP1 was no trouble and approaching gz I thought uh, oh. However I am pleased to say that it gave up without a struggle when I saw something not quite right. A good hide and thanks to robmc and the maintainer.
Sorry, but I neglected to check for the coin. Perhaps the next searcher can do so.
Could the next team visiting this cache please confirm whether the Caught Red Handed microcoin is still in the cache. Thanks.
Wpt1 was found with no hassles, and the cache was found without many hassles too – but I’ll admit that we consider ourselves fortunate to have spotted it early in our search! Nice hide – no other people around GZ this afternoon, so we were able to search without interruption. TNLN & SL at 5pm. Thanks Robmc and brothersinfluence for the cache – we enjoyed the hunt!
Found at 9.30am GAFF3 (three in a row!). The first WPT was not too much trouble, although c-pprass found it after p-pprass had looked at that spot on arrival. The second WPT was not expected to be so well hidden and all sorts of thoughts went through our minds as to how it could have been muggled. After checking all of the easy spots we started thinking more devious and voila - cache was found. Thanks guys for the fun.
