Day 2 of our caching trip to Palmerston North area with HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, Keylev, and myself, signing in as SEAC or TEAM SEAC to save logbook space. A big thanks to all the CO's for cache placement and maintenance, making this trip the success that it was.TFTC.Razz

21-Oct-23
A nice quick find here following the hint and co-ords. A small group of us from Team SEAC consisting of Keylev, Stik-A-Crane, Uncle Sam and ourselves had come down from Auckland to spend the long weekend caching in the Manawatu area. The plan was to get as many as possible. Along the way we had some great adventures, many laughs, met some interesting people and found a wide selection of caches. Signed SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC.

15-Jul-23
A lovely walk to this oldie.

Out and about caching with Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri for a fun day caching in and around Palmerston North to cache and to visit friends at a board gaming day. Apologies for the late log. Not quite sure how we signed it -either with our individual names or 3W for the 3 Wellingtonians.

Kia ora rawa atu for the cache edvern.

15-Jul-23
Out caching with Itchyfeet2020 and NZ_B. This one was targeted as it fills a gap in my JASMER grid. A walk down the track until we reached GZ. Found after a short search. All good in container, although slightly damp. Tftc!

15-Jul-23
On a road trip with NZ_B and matagouri. This cache was the only cache on my 'really really want to get' list for my last visit here - and of course we never made it. At that time I was keen to fill a gap for a missing month. I managed to fill that yesterday (in case we didn't make it here again). But this time we got here - so great to add my name to this one. A lovely little walk. TFTC and keeping the older ones going.

07-May-23
Denomynator was sleeping in after watching Charles get ‘coronated’ last night, and my ride for the day was running late… so off for a brief sidetrack. Quick find of the nice hide, thanks edvern!

26-Mar-23
Found it!

Cache was well hidden and took us a few minutes to locate. The inside was slightly damp but not too bad

Out on a walk with the geohound somewhat local, we haven’t been down this end of the track before so thanks for the excuse Smile

+1 TB

TFTC quick walk and find.

17-Dec-21
I'm needing two geocaches today to continue my personal challenge of four times around the 365-day calendar. Plus these will be sufficient to reach the summit of My Denali.
All a bit wet around here with the copious unseasonal heavy rain this last week, but Maggie the geohound and I found it despite the map being out of sync with the ground layout. On the map about 25m away, but GPS says only 2.5m. All good here TFTC

06-Nov-21

Thank you for pointing out this beautiful reserve. On a mission to find other nearby caches which I hope are all as easy to find. But I will continue on this walkway around the loop tftc

20-Oct-19
This cache was on the list of caches we need to do by dates. We found it quickly but there was a guardian. Unsure if it was a giant weta or it was in the family. It was making some kind of scratching noises and guarded the hole. After a quick fright and composing ourselves we reached for the cache signed and returned. Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache. A clever little hide.

19-Feb-19
Searched for on a dot day. After initially looking at the wrong item near GZ, I discovered this great cache. A favourite point for the hide and thanks for bringing me here.

18-Jan-19
Finally found, what a great cache, the girls loved it:-)

03-Jan-19
Catching up with family in Palmerston North after the New Year and a plan was made to get some exercise and find some caches. This was our fifth find for the afternoon taking us back up to the main road. I remember when the area was all still farmland.
Nicely hidden cache in good condition. Impressive tall tree.
Thanks for the smilie

03-Jan-19
Out caching with BELLS3 and Kiwi Nomad. Really liked how this one was hidden. We tried to make sure it was hidden properly for the next finder.
Thanks for the smilie.

03-Jan-19
Neat camouflage on the cache! Thanks!

03-Nov-18
Another trip to Palmy to visit friends, gives me another opportunity to try to knock off a few more Palmy caches.

Parking up near the start of the pathway, a few minutes walking brought me to GZ where the Hint item was spotted. Making my careful way down to what I thought would be the location, I was initially fooled by an other completely random object found. I minute or two of inspecting it to make sure it wasn't a clever cache hide and then I cast my eyes about and spotted something clever nearby. Nice camo job!

All was fine with this cache and its contents. The log was quickly signed and then everything put back exactly as found before heading off to the next one.

Thanks for placing the cache, and for bringing me to a spot I've never been to before.

25-Oct-18
Be careful not to stand on any saplings!

22-Sep-18
Been a while since I have had a proper caching day. Headed over to palmy to grab some caches with D6NZ then weaved our way home via Hunterville.

No issues finding this one.

Cheers.

22-Sep-18
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will help me get closer to my goal

It has been a few months since Scoria and myself have teamed up to a spot of Geocaching
We come here to Plamy so Scoria could place in a new multi cache

Got distracted by something I thought was the cache but turn out that it wasn't the cache
so we continue to search and found the cache a few minutes later feely well hidden

Thanks for the cache

06-May-17
In Palmy for the weekend getting a few caches. There are a lot of great walkways here. Thanks for showing me them. The find was straightforward.
Unfortunately the log needs sanitizing, it has been 'trolled' and is no longer 'family friendly'.

14-Apr-17
Took us ages lol but happy cachers in the end!

12-Apr-17
Parked up at the supermarket. Whilst half the team went into the shop I came up to this. Knew straightaway where likely to be- however, after looking underneath tried a different tact and there it was. The water in the pond doesn't look that colour today- more of a yellow brown.

06-Feb-17
Awesome spot. Third find today yahoo

This one was great fun to find. We tried earlier in the day but no dice--brought the whole team back after dinner and found in less than 5 minutes. Thanks!

31-Dec-16
Perfect hint. Thank you.

31-Dec-16
In Palmy for the weekend targeting a few older caches. Found this no problem. Nice little walking track. TFTC

31-Dec-16
Second find in Palmy today, just arrived from Taupo for the long weekend. Targeting older caches, this one over 9 years old fits the bill. Nice location we like little reserves and walking tracks better than park and grabs. GPS had me looking a bit further along, but once I'd exhausted the obvious hiding spots there I extended the search a bit more and located it in the other obvious spot. Cache was on its side which may have contributed to it taking in a bit of water (?). Returned right side up. TFTC.

08-Dec-16
I am down to the final few caches I am yet to find in the Palmerston North area. Decided to take the long route to work today to look for this one. Pleasant walk through the bush to the GZ where I proceeded to eliminate all the difficult spots first, getting myself into a slightly tricky situation and a wee bit covered in grime.

After this elimination I check a very easy spot to reach more in keeping with its terrain level for the cache and put my hand on it. Cache is a bit damp inside but as the log is waterproof paper, it is still easy to sign. Tftc

This was a lovely walk to this one and I quickly found the cache. Retrieved a TB which was special - Elvis! My mum is a bit Elvis fan and will enjoy seeing this one before I replace in another cache. The walkway was dry and it was lovely and peaceful down here. TFTC

27-Aug-16
A gorgeous little walk to find this cache. There has obviously been a lot of rain. Enjoying our day trip from Hawkes Bat. TFTC Smile dropped TB

04-Aug-16
I was over in the Massey side of town and since I don't often come over this way I decided to grab a few caches. Today was a perfect geocaching day as the rain and the cold would keep most muggles away. Gumboots was definitely the footwear of choice today. Anything less and I wouldn't have been able to get most of the caches.
A quick find here after grabbing a few other caches nearby. This cache has always been on my radar as it fills a hole in my hidden month matrix.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

08-Jun-16

Great little cache. Kids had a ball

12-Jan-16
This was an easy find for me as I was with my sisters a few years a go when they found it. I wasn't geocaching then but now that I am it was time to find it and log it for myself.

03-Jan-16
#749 Thought I would spend a lazy sunday walking / running and picking up all the unfound caches around my home town. This was one of them, and was on one of the running tracks that I had never run before. Spent a bit of time looking for the cache, in all the less obvious spots - only to find it was in the most obvious spot. Had a man run past me three times, he must have wondered what I was up to.... TB out

30-Nov-15
This one took us a lot longer than it should have! I got into some very interesting situations trying to find it! Eventually I said to Mr Jamogen, have you looked there yea? Yea I looked there already, he said... Then he looked again and magically there it was!! I think he needs new eyes. Easy when you know! Smile Thanks for the hide! Day 25 of our streak! TB dropped off!

Just had time to pick this one up before returning to the holiday park to transport our basketball boys to the arena for their next match in the regional secondary schools tournament (they won and are into the semi-final!). Would have liked more time to explore the area more but not to be this time. TFTC.
