Not sure about being an easy drive... it's in the middle of nowhere! But... found it, TNLN. It needs attention, though... it's getting REALLY wet!

1448 A+ and myself notched up our 2nd Marto for the day and our 101st GC cache. I was surprised at the good condition of roads and tracks in this area as when we went through a couple of years ago, they almost required 4WD.

A quick find and as recently reported, all contents very wet. Good bit of work Marto but a new lid and a portable hairdryer are sorely needed. TNLN, TFTC.

We decided to walk from the last cache 'Rocky Reef' to this one as it was within a reasonable range. A nice easy stroll through the bush.
A clever hide. Left Heinz TB- It's on a race around the world for 1 year so hopefully someone can move it along again soon.
A stroll back to the car and then on to our next Marto cache.

We found our 7th Marto 1600 cache at 5:40pm as the 19th of 24 on Day 3 of our "Where'd Bendy Go?" long weekend. Both TomTom and Tracks4Australia were once again useless in navigating to these caches from the south. Neither showed any good access and my best guess took us 3km up a shoddy dead end track. Eventually, we navigated to 650m east of the cache and we parked at the end of a good but dead end road about 200m south of the Rocky Reef cache. I made a bolt fot this one whilst the others headed for the other. I arrived and found in double quick time and almost disappointed that there were three perfectly good tracks heading to the cache that I was unable to locate (but I did locate the access later). Thanks for the cache from D, H & A B-A.

03-Nov-08
Found by Mary & David at 1430. Enjoyed some other tracks on our way here. TomTom would lead us on a merry dance if we gave him his head as he doesn't know about many of the tracks around here. Our thanks to Marto 1600 once again.

Spent a minute or two scratching around GZ before coming across the cache. Have read about this type of hide in before, and this was the first one I have encountered in the wild.

Retrieved 4 x TB, as they have been here for some time. Left 1 x TB.

Thanks!

#12 of 24 finds in company with acts2youthgroup on our Castlemaine/Bendigo cleanup effort. First of eight Marto_1600 caches in this pocket of bush whose tracks have apparently escaped the map surveys! We found this one at 1525. Nice to see a larger cache, after a string of micros in the bush. I took the opportunity of depositing a few Travel Bugs. Other than that, I made no exchange. Thanks to Marto_1600 for the cache. Cheers, dak.

Last of 9 finds on our Sunday of Marto Caches
Found with Chati and GeoLoch. Find # 238
Found after a extensive search. Co-ords were 15m out!
This would have eluded us but for a chance meeting with Derringer who noticed out car and dropped off for a chat at a nearby cache. We had arrived here earlier and searched for over an hour down the hill, but came up with nothing. Searched further, but missed the actual hiding place by mere meters!!
Found later after a short search, armed with some helpful advice!!

Found by Team Phetlern at 4.10pm
We teamed up for this one.
Both our GPS's told us that GZ was on the opposite side of the road to where we eventually found it.
Peter even moved his car in case he had parked over it.
We both found the cache to be 15m away from our indicated GZ.
Good to see a regular container, not a small one as advertised.
Thanks to Team Phetlern for their companionship during our 2 cache hunts together.

Found at 4.55pm GAFF2. The 23rd cache of our H & A Bendigo weekend. We approached GZ half expecting to meet up with Hondo222 from the logs of the caches we had previously done - and there he was with Ben! We had a long chat at GZ and then we started looking. We knew the co-ords were a bit out so we widened our search and then after a bit of a nod from Ben we found the neat hiding spot - so that is why it is Y and we thought it was because of the ...... 8.45am
Found by Roma and Max.
We called in on this one late yesterday afternoon, and being lulled into complacency by Martos accurate co-ordinates at all his previous hides, we failed to make a find. We photographed our determination of GZ and emailed this to Marto.
On our way down to Mia Mia on another search expedition this morning we called in again and widened our search area, together with some overnight thought as to the caches name, and made our find. We were only about 5km away when Marto contacted us to say he was at the cache. We returned and together took a number of readings with both our receivers and decided the posted co-ordinates were acceptable, if not as spot on as usual!
We left one of our usual Mondo Figurines for the cache and took a Beaded Dragon Fly as a memento.
Thanks Marto_1600, having fresh geo blood in this area will be appreciated by all searchers.
Romax.
