GENERIC LOGS FOR PATOG series! [8)][8)][8)]
Time to attack the PATOG series. [^] So the calls were made to find a group to take on the ride and a group of brisal5, Astro, WhiteDogGang and Featherwaite were available. So the acronym BAWF was formed to sign the logs. We chose Tuesday 8/6/2021 to make the ride but the forecast of a thunderstorm, continuous rain and howling winds caused the newly formed BAWF to balk and we delayed until Friday 11/6/21! [B)][B)] What a great day for a ride, overcast, a nice cool breeze and not a drop of rain to be felt. All caches were found in good condition except, one that needed a new cap (done) and one that needed replacing. (also done) Great day had but I felt like BAWFing by the end! [:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)]
This was the ring in along the way. I needed this one so a quick diversion was made and then a quick find was made also.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks calumphing_four for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Today after work I headed to Globe Derby again to pick up 4 caches on a circular walk. I had forgotten how pesky the mozzies are around here!

Out for a long bike ride with Uni and Medusa along the Northen Expressway and beyond. We parked a vehicle at each end and took the mountain bikes along the trails - 48.9kms and 115 caches in around 5 hours.
The bike trail allows one to see a lot more at 20kmh than whizzing past in a car at 110kmh. There is interesting WWII history in amongst the market gardens and salt flats. I really enjoyed the massive redgums and lushness around the Gawler River. On a hot day one would want to take plenty of water, there isn't a lot of shade or facilities along some of the stretches.
This cache was found at 9:22:00 AM and was 34 of 116 finds today.

Found while doing the new PATOG series. A group of us did the whole lot plus a few extras along the way in approximately 5 hours. TFTC The Calumphing Four
You can head your horse to water and you can also lead a cacher to a cache. nice to find something bigger than a micro for a change. cache fine.
Out with Tallbikestan, allister w, JJ52, azzo and mogni. Todays target was to do all of the PATOG Series using bikes or power assisted bikes. Getting dropped off at one end and getting picked up at the other end. The only problem we had was the one cache that needed a ladder, Tallbikestan's bike was just too short by about 1/2 foot. Easy found with the ladder deployed. i never got to complete the last bike trail, i only ended up finding about 11 of them. We even had a lunch break about 3/4 down the trail. A fun but tiring day out. All logs stamped as mystery randoms.

A big day out with sir_spectre, Allister W, JJ52, tallbikestan and azzo (and his Dad). Today we tackled the PATOG series and all caches were found, only a couple took more than a few seconds. This was a bonus find along the way.

Thanks for the cache Calumphing Four. I was out on a mission to achieve the 111 PATOG's and this one was just the ticket for a side find. A nice wander along the embankment with plenty of water in all the ponds nearby. The cache was found in good condition, and I grabbed the TB to continue it on its journey.
Out far further than i should be on my Deadly Treadly on this warm day after grabbing a solved Puzzle a bit earlier, there weren't too many green boxes on my map to grab so this one was grabbed, signed at 10:38 on Wednesday 20 January 2021.
Getting a bit dry here. The horse would have to go right out to the middle almost [:o]
All is good and dry within the cache....... {discovered the tb}.
Now for the journey back to Richmond 5033, sigh

My first time here, an interesting walk from the parking waypoint, I guess it would have been nicer before the freeway went in. Dropped a TB. TFTC.
This morning I decided to head north and collect a few caches around Salisbury/paralowie area. Made the nice walk around to this one, cache was easily found and is all good

This evening with looming COVID-19 lockdown impacts growing closer every day, I was still determined to head out for some fitness whilst we still had the freedoms. Hence, I planned some running about a few of Salisbury's wetlands along some of the running/cycling tracks. There were a few geocaches along the way that hadn't been found in quite some time, which also decreased any risk of COVID-19 transmission. A nice few nice areas that I would not have known about otherwise.
This was a pretty little area to jog around with, and there was a bit of birdlife around on the lake, like a group of pelicans. It was also nice jogging past the horses in the paddocks around too. Once I arrived at GZ, it wasn't long before I spotted the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks The Calumphing Four for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
I had a quick look at the Rock Quest waypoint on my return, but alas, the Berocca tube still remains hidden away there.

Nice walk, took awhile to find the cache, trees were playing havoc with the GPS.

Got to pat a friendly horse on our way back to the car.

Before heading up the LPT trail I thought I would stop by here and give the local mozzies a feed.

We were in the vicinity picking up some caches and decided to try and find this one on the way back to the car. Sat lock was pretty bad near GZ and the GPSr had us going all over the place. In the end the hint really helped and the cache was located. After checking for muggles, the log was signed and all was tucked away before continuing on the car after a pretty successful morning. No horses were seen, but there was a pelican nearby.

A nice Sunday afternoon walk with geohusband & geodog in the Whites Road Wetlands area to claim a few caches. Saw a few rabbits on the way here, geohusband spotted the cache without much searching!

We were out on a caching run with Team Scoobster and Tardis Trio and were targeting any caches that may be in the proposed connector route or nearby that could be closed off to access, so with a successful morning caching we decided to do the bottom end of the LPT series and any other caches nearby, quick find with three sets of eyesTFTC calumphing_four
This one wasn't as easy as your other one. Sat lock was proving difficult and the amount of leaf litter and debris from the surrounding trees wasn't helping us. No water in sight but a mountain of mozzies sucking us dry. Eventually Gwen located the cache and log book was quickly signed & replaced .

Poor horses would have gone without here today as no water in sight
Did not sight a horse but could here them in the distance
GPS was not doing us a favour here
Spent way too long searching for cache
Mozzies were attacking making it unpleasant also
Finally I spotted the cache closer to the trail than where we had previously been searching
This cache happened to be our 7000th find

Veni. Vici. Vidi. Scripsi. Working in the area and it was lunchtime and needed a break so decided to go find a cache or two. Nice day for a walk through the area. Arrived at GZ and as per the description the GPS was going crazy but soon spotted a cache. Retrieved, signed log and replaced. Didn't see any horses though. Gratias pro cache.
On a hot and humid day I was walking past on my way to another cache and of course I had to stop off here and grab this one. Not too much water here right now but there were millions of bull ants and mosquitoes so I tried to keep moving.

With the caching bug biting, I thought that I would clean up some of the caches I had in the general Salisbury area. I have needed to finish off the LPT for sometime now and seeing as I am cleaning up what better time to do it then today.
What a beautiful little wetlands, I didn't know that Globe Derby actually had houses, i thought it was only a trotting track lol.

We came back to this area to make amends after an unsuccessful visit here during the winter, hoping to have better luck with less undergrowth to contend with. That, and bringing another team member with us who is much better at spotting hides than some of us And so it was, a great start to our walk. TNLNSL TFTC
After braving the detour, Timotatus and Mattycat found themselves
washed downstream with nothing but a pen and a gps...
the bold adventurers continued, looking for a horse, some water,
or something else to lead the way.
Mattycat was just about to lift the lid on a big white box
with some words about bees written on the side,
when Timotatus called out, oh, it's on that side.
A lucky break.
No bees were harmed and sadly no horses were watered.

Our plan A for today had to be postponed, so CPWanderer & I headed out this way.
Having not cached this way, I readily agreed.
We decided to complete a mini loop to include this one.
CP had completed this one previously, but he helped me look.
No water today, but plenty of horses available for pats if I had time.
