Continuing our caching for a second day we set off in mild temperatures and bright sunshine.
Most of the questions we found the answers to and used "options" for the rest. A quick find after that.
Thank you for the cache.

08-Apr-23
Today I got up early and hit the road to see how many caches I could find between Christchurch and Springfield. The weather was quite good, not too hot and not too cold. I really enjoyed my time exploring the back roads of Canterbury. An interesting multi. I had a nice peaceful time exploring the cemetary and then finding the cache. TFTC, Biggles.

Nice wee cemetery, seemingly in the middle of nowhere.
Cyril Burns and George Polson were the hardest to locate for us. Latter one threw me off after he wasn't with the rest of the Polsons.

Kia ora! Paldies!

Fun one to solve!

28-Oct-20
I solved this one awhile back but today I finally had a couple minutes for a very peaceful walk to retrieve it. Thanks

08-Sep-20
A lovely day so packed a picnic to go find some solved smurfs and other caches in area. We enjoyed our walk around here and admit had to double back as missed one but all good. Went back to vehicle to work out co ords and then walked to the cache. Very impressive posy here. Thanks for this interesting Multi Kiwi Moose.

01-Aug-20
The Seagnoid went that way and I went this way to gather the info for this multi. Then we walked way way over there. This looks wrong and not part of the cemetery. So its back to recheck our numbers for another walk around . This time the numbers look a lot better. And yes got it this time. Cheers.

Its a long weekend in Christchurch, with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, and Star Gazing on the radar. Unfortunately clouds put paid to seeing stars but great event meeting up with the locals. Enjoyed visiting Halswell Quarry, Lincoln, Port Hills and running around after the Smurf family. Cool, fine days and NO rain made for an awesome weekend. Will be back again soon.

01-Aug-20
The first time we but the numbers together we we trying to 50m into the field out the back and further beyond. A quick recheck was needed - but where did we find those numbers?
This is the first cemetery multi of this style that I have ever done - an explore of every single gravestone. Gets a fav just for the different experience.

Came down on Thursday night with Taybeedragon for a three day geocaching trip and to collect a rare cache type - so rare that this will be the first ever for me - a 10-Year Celebration Event cache (now rejigged as Community Celebration Events). But that was yesterday alng with some adventure labs and Halswell Quarry, and I still have a whole day and a half to muck about in Christchurch before heading home. Time to smurf some more caches!

01-Aug-20
Was back in the area with Shannonp1 to mop up the Smurf series ticked this off on our way past. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.

27-Nov-19
Out for a bike ride and some caching.
We wandered around the headstones until we had found all the numbers. The cache was then a quick find.
Nice to give this one some love as it hasn't been found for a year. TFTC.

03-Nov-18

I recognised a lot of names in this cemetery today. I have worked locally for 23 years. Thanks for leading me to explore here.

02-Mar-17
Poured a cup of coffee from the flask, grabbed a sandwich and started to wander collecting the figures. One eluded me so I followed the hint (confession time). There it was! I just loved the peace and quiet of this area after our busy road at home, the maggies were in full voice today, I love their yodelling. TFTC and the journey. A fav. Cool

Had been collecting a few of the Smurf caches so decided to swing by here, I always enjoy cemetery caches, especially old historical one in country locations such as this. Cache duly found, good to get the paperwork completed. *TFTC Kiwi Moose, #8938*

It didn't take too long to gather all the information, it was nice to stretch my legs after a steady diet of park n grabs. The container was quickly found once GZ was worked out. Cheers and TFTC

Got a few hours to kill before kiwi nomads event so knocking off a few more caches nice quick multi went straight to it tftc

03-Jan-16
Have tried this to do this cache a few times but there have always been muggles around. Quiet day today due to the rain. Easy find apart from getting wet in the rain. TFTC

02-Jan-16
Another day, another random drive to cache. We set off after lunch to find a few in the wider area, to see how far we get and what we can fit into an afternoon/evening. The weather was perfect - drizzle the whole day, turning into rain at times, meaning a general paucity of muggles Big Grin A huge thanks to all CO's for their hides!!!

14-Dec-15
Out on a Mad Monday Mission with TG on this lovely Summers' evening. We decided to head out and collect some smurfs and grab what we can on the way. After mopping up nearly all of the smurfs (only one left for me). We changed plan and headed to this one and then go home via South Eyre Road. We made the stop and find in no time! Cool spot. I spotted a crane/heron coming to land in the trees just on dark.

Thanks for the cache Kiwi Moose.

This offset multi cache was in a very interesting place. This is the first time I had ever seen a segregated cemetry of Protestants. Really amazing.

Even with not finding one of the residents I was still able to locate the cache.

Cheers for the cache.

07-Nov-15
Found while out in Hororata for the Highland Games.
I appreciate cemeteries and this is a lovely one. Haven't done any work on our family tree for a while but noticed some familiar names (and remembered the cemetery names (Greendale and Mayfair)), so took some pictures while out there of the relevant headstones.
Really enjoyed this multi. We were respectful while looking for the information. Thank you for bringing us to this location. Gets a favourite point.

As I was making breakfast this morning, I was thinking about my plan for the day. And I thought to myself about how many unfound caches I have as I haven't really gone out caching (Excuding my one a day) in a very very very long time!! So decided, hey, let's do this.

Picked this spot as a good area to get a whole bunch of caches, and not too close to home to interfere with my one a day.

Sorry for the boring logs, but I have mega work to be getting on with now!! But all the hides were fun and quick, just what I needed Smile

A fun multi... I always find cemetaries interesting. Some very very sad stories to be told here. Two teenage boys dying within a month of each other, one girl called Sonia killed as a teenager, and someone born in the same year as me, died a few months ago...

Consec caching day #937

TFTC!! Smile

14-Feb-15
We got all the coordinates gathered last June but the cache had been muggled. Tonight we went straight to the spot. Lovely cemetery.

10-Feb-15
Out and about at night and getting pretty late. After collecting the Super Secret WWII Airfield cache I was going to start heading home (back to Dunsandel then along the main road) but my GPS tried to send me down a very vague, bumpy and dodgy 'paper road' (Illingworth) - my low slung car isn't build for those sorts of roads so after 500m I turned around and continued up and across to Bealey Rd - much more civilised.....and I found myself getting close to this cache...very late by now; but what the hay. Pulled in and gave this a bash. Took a while but got there in the end. Nothing like a cemetery late at night....at least no one lives close to wonder what that strange light is?! LOL
Cheers ears...

09-Jan-15
Nice walk around with the 15 month old.

14-Dec-14
Sevren found this cache before and we are here to find it for me. but Sevren forgot where is the cache hides so we start all over again. Finally we found it tftc

11-Nov-14
I love cemetery caches! Nosynel and I made quick work of this one rounding up the figures. Finding the cache took a little longer but Nosynel soon yelled out 'Got it". Lots of history here. TFTC

11-Nov-14
The final cache on my caching outing with CatMad9. Thankfully the magpies did not bother us at all.

18-Oct-14
Surprisingly easy find. Although the cache is near a magpie nest and mum was not happy. A well kept cemetery. TFTC

18-Oct-14
Mr Sharpe found the cache quickly however, it was under a magpie's nest! Mrs Sharpe and Victoriousone quickly grabbed the cache and signed the log before we got attacked.

27-Sep-14
NIce to get this one ticked off. Thanks for replacing the container.

20-Sep-14
Love walking round old cemeteries such a lot of local history in them. These tell you who the families of the District were and probably still are. Had a bit of a problem reading some of the headstones as the lichen is attaching itself but all good for these ones at present. Cache all good still and thanks for replacing it - FTS new book.

27-Aug-14
Yup, looks like it is missing. Replaced with a fresh one. Cheers

08-Jun-14
Had a great time searching for all the names. Harriet had us going for a while there. Found all the co-ordinates but no joy finding the cache. Could you please check to see if you can find it as that is three logged "no finds" and who knows how many not logged. We would really like to do this one.

08-Jun-14
Oh bother, looks like 3 DNF's in a row. Time for a gander.

09-Mar-14
No joy again, poo.

28-Sep-13
Spent a fair bit of time here figuring out the clues. Got the co-ordinate and promptly run out of light. Had a quick search around but couldn't see. A few trees down from the wind storm the other week. Hopefully its still there.

11-Feb-12
13/16 on the way to ChCh via the outskirts. A nice quiet stroll around this well kept cemetry collecting the required info and then a quick find. TFTC Smile

06-Jan-12
A beautiful little cemetery in a very peaceful spot. It was good to see so many monuments have been restored or at least uprighted. One of the 'clues' is split so the person's name is on one piece and his age on another, but this did not cause any problem.

12-Nov-11
A very time consuming multi but finished it in the end. Very sad state some of the headstones are in. TFTC (445)

04-Nov-11
Wandered around the cemetery in the rain searching for the specified headstones. Quite disturbing to see all the toppled monumental stones. Must have been a sight to see during the quake. Found most of the graves, and managed to deduce the correct co-ords from the numbers we had, as it was too wet for another circuit. Thanks for an interesting multi.

Its not often I look at every grave in a cemetery. If only they could took. There must be some fascinating history and some possible family links. A clever hide. Took "Australian Jake" TB. TFTC.

17-Sep-11
Spent a bit of time wandering the stomes. Managed to find 4/6 and used an educated guess for the rest. Thanks for the little bit of time travel. Left Australia Jake TB

Lots of fallen headstones here now. Neat little multi, the box was in plain view (again!) 3 months since last visit.Left a little red car and time is still passing in the box! Cool

26-Sep-10
Some headstones in the cemetery have been damaged in the earthquake. There are quite a few toppled ones, but also some that have shifted on their bases and are very unstable. Because of this, there is "Do not enter" tape on the gate. We decided that it would be safe for us to go in but other cachers beware, please DO NOT BRING CHILDREN HERE, until it has been made safe again.
We couldn't find one of the headstones, it may be one that is now lying face down, luckily it was the least significant digit, so after a bit of searching, we were most happy to find the cache.
TFTC.

(324) Was getting a bit late and cold.. Still a nice wander around the ceemetary.. One name was a bit tricky, but was soon found.. Nice easy find.. TFTC, SL.

23-Jun-10
Was a simple wander around the cemetery alright. It was just the 2 degree temperature and sleet that made it a little bit uncomfortable, but I'm not coming all this way to go home empty handed. Some very familiar names in this cemetery and I like the way each religion is buried with their own kind-you wouldn't want to go to the wrong God now would you? TFTC Took TB

07-Mar-10
Good afternoon for a stroll around the cemetery on return to Chch from a 4wd event up Rakaia way. Struggled to find one headstone but managed to track down the cache no problems - it helped that the cache was in full view. We replaced the cache in the logical location and hopefully covered it better. TFTC
