Such a great spot. Pity about the rain. Log book soggy and has grown a mossy civilization
We were headed into Melbourne, and we decided to break up the trip by finding a cache on the way.We have driven past this one so many times, and are usually in a hurry, but today we had time to make the stop. It is great to be able to break up the drive to Melbourne as this stretch of road is not the most scintillating of drives when you pop on the cruise control to ensure that you don't contribute to the revenue of the State Government. We were able to park safely off the road, grab the information we needed, and make our way to the cache.Unfortunately. we did not have our Geocaching bag with us today, so could not replace the quite soggy log.Thank you for this Multicache vp4.
Passing through Little River I stopped to view this memorial and gather the required information to calculate the final coordinates. This done and a quick find was made. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache.
Safe and sound at designated cords. Had to assist with a bit of maintenance, but look low behind a rock where the clue states. Also, give this one a shot if youre local or on way from Geelong. (Drive directly up the hill if your car permits!!!). Thank.
A nice quick and easy multi and a quick find to follow. Unfortunately the cache had no lid so we replaced the whole container with one from our repair kit of containers. Thanks for the cache.
TFTC! 2 December 2023 8:52:04pm 6462Last cache of the day! On the way home and made a quick stop. Been quite wet for the last few days so walked up the hill instead. Stunning sunset tonight. A quick calculation and find of the cache!
Out with Spiffy and this was a random stop. We managed to drive to the plaque and very close to GZ to make for a lazy find. Enjoyed the views.
Thanks to vp4 for the fun and the adventure.
Thanks to vp4 for the fun and the adventure.
Today Fleabag- wanted to finish of his D/T matrix but only with trads so the plan was to the You Yangs and do the lock picking challenge which was gladly successful.
On the way home this was the last cache before we hit the freeway and I would then have no opportunity to have any more random stops so we had to stop here.
We took the car right to the top of the hill and worked out GZ from the comfort of the car. Back down the hill and the cache was spotted in the first place I looked.
Thanks vp4 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

What a nice view from the top of the hill. I’m sure there’d probably be a huge turnout there on Airshow days. A fair bit of puddles and mud around at the car park, fortunately I came with hiking boots. Like previous cachers, there was no lid. So obviously overdue for some maintenance. The logbook is safe in a ziplock bag though so should be ok for the short term. TFTC
Arrived from Tassie today and explored this area and found your cache along the way.
An easy multi, a good view from the hill, log book was found near the post, replaced back in container, but no lid about..
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

What a sad memorial. It is a great view from up here. I stopped to find this cache on my way home from Geelong and, in signing the log, I've finally qualified for the LGA challenge. We're from the other side of town so Wyndham was the final area I needed.
Like others have noted, the cache is missing the lid. I was able to provide a new ziplock bag but not a container. The log was dry when I placed it in the new bag.

What a great view, and what a great find! That memorial would only be found by cachers, how sad. But thank you for remembering Kenny. Cache found, but missing a lid. Couldn't find it so maybe a new container may be needed as the log will get wet... like all of us atm lol!
Back down in Geelong once again to greet my new granddaughter into the world, so while there’s a brief interlude, what better to than pick up a couple of caches!
After a long frustrating morning, I needed to go a little further north to get back on the highway so that I could pass another cache to pick up a bit of required information for another hide. But before I headed out, I spied this hide on the way.
Always sad to read these memorials, but I just hope that it is maintained satisfactorily for the future.
Attained the relevant information, and made my way to the final GZ. Hide was quickly found and was in ok condition, but had no top and had a chew hole in the base and the snap lock bag has another chew hole(from mice or rats).

Nice easy find while waiting for a work colleague to drop materials to me. Tftc
Found It.......After driving past here for what seems like eternity we decided to grab this one on the way home from Melbourne. After pulling up at GZ we set to collecting the required info and worked out the numbers but before we set off to find the cache we admired the sunset that was silhouetting the You Yangs. After pulling up at the set of coords we had calculated a quick search soon had the container in hand. So with the log signed we continued our journey homeward. Thanks vp4 for the cache
I’ve travelled out this way many times before with family living in the area but never stopped to grab this cache. After a short trip up the hill, I had the information required and set off to GZ to make the find.
Initially I only found an empty container and a broken lid, but soon found the log nearby. Surprisingly the log is still in good condition, thanks to iTEEM’s maintenance at the last find. The lid is broken so I have replaced all back together as best as possible. This one could do with a CO visit.
Thanks vp4 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

I had some time before work, so swung by Little River to find some caches.
A quick find here, with no one else around.
The container lid is broken and wasn't on it.
Even though there was a little water in the bottom of the container, the log book surprisingly wasn't wet.
I put the logbook in a Ziploc bag to protect it, and replaced the container on its side to hopefully keep it a bit drier inside.

Decided to stop in and collect this cache on my way home today. Sorted the coords easy enough and arrived at GZ to find cache scattered all over the ground and lid has been smashed. O replaces it as best as I could but it definitely needs attention.
Thanks for the cache

In the neighbourhood for a bit of a caching day. came along from Lara, and then started to wonder.."Am I in Metro Melbourne?" Solved the puzzle quickly and found the container easily at the final destination so I could run back to safe territory. Lid on the container is now very cracked and broken and probably needs replacing.
Took a drive over the Westgate with the specific aim of finding this multi. I've passed it many a time but never turned off the highway on the way back home. I'm glad I didn't as I both needed a multi for today's calendar gap and am glad to snaffle the unlove.
The previous finder made the actual find back in December 2018 (have photos if needed) which makes the last find 14.12.2019. Amazing what a bit of a gap followed by a lockdown will do.

Stopped off here on my way back down to the coast. Only after I stopped did I realise that I had found this cache a few years earlier and must have never gotten around to logging it online. Finally getting around to it now, thanks for the cache vp4.
Road tripping from Melbourne to Adelaide with Lady membsec, wombles and 1MinnieMoo. This was day one of our adventure.
I’m glad we hired the 4WD! Made it to the posted coords easily to collect the required information. Then off we went to GZ. It didn’t take long to have the beasty in hand.

The day was finally here, our journey to the Great Ocean Road, a trip us girls had been planning for 12 months. And we almost thought we wouldn’t make it due to airline strikes. But make it we did, albeit slightly delayed.
Our second cache of the day, we made the journey up here and quickly had a good set of coords.
As we charged over to GZ we let our brains think for us all and wandered over to where we expected it to be before realising where the phones were telling us to be.
A quick correction and we soon had the cache, signed as QQ for the group of 4 of us (NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, membsec and I).
Thanks for the cache vp4.

We are on a road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide on the Great Ocean Road (GOR). Membsec from Tassie, Nyssaflutterby, 1MinnieMoo and Wombles and Co all from Queensland. We met at the airport, late due to Jetstar’s strike (4 hours delayed for the Queenslanders) and then hit the road. We have a good selection of caches that we really want to get, so many in a short amount of time.
We have signed the log as QQ to save time and space in the log book. That’s a nice hill which we drove up and packed close to GZ.

Seemed like the ideal time to look for this cache with no road workers being on site today.

Made this one into a quick drive by today on my way past. While the day is chilly, the views are amazing. Thanks vp4 for introducing me to this spot and the view. I have driven past many, many times and never aware of this monument or this view! The container has a small animal eaten hole in the base.

Have driven past this one so many times. Figured it was about time to finally turn it into a smiley.

my husband and I attended a wedding in Lorne from Brisbane and did some sight seeing and collected smileys on the way. as we were driving to the airport on our way home this one caught my interest and we drove up the hill to gather the info needed. . Love it . and love this spot. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
I too decided to stop and see what this monument was about today. I’m glad that they have erected it to keep work safe safety at the forefront of people’s minds. I did some maths as I left the site, but had to put wait a muggle at GZ. Soon the coast was clear and I was able to find the cache. TFTC vp4
Much like the CO, I regularly drive past here for work and for many a year wondered what was up here. I eventually came up and checked it out one day prior to taking up Geocaching, but never returned until today when I was taking this exit in search of some mystery caches to add to my mystery month challenge, so I figured I would pick this one up while I was here. A nice, quick multi which does exactly as the description suggests, breaks up the Geelong > Melbourne commute quite nicely without taking a large amount of time. Cache found in good order, signed and returned as found.
I thought I had finished my caching run for the day when I spotted this little multi just before i got back onto the highway. I was umming and arrrhing about if I would stop, and went why not! A steep climb but a great view and some interesting history and memorial. Calculations down and back down to find the little cache. TFTC

Found with sharkefan while on our way to "Come & Visit Parkville in November, 2018 - Geelong" event.
a short detour off the black top to visit Kenny's monument and check out the view from the top.
A quick grab was made in the end.

On our way to Point Cook to stay with some friends ready for some fun in the Otways tomorrow. Decided to go down early and grab some smileys in an area we don't often frequent. Driven past here so very often but always in a hurry on the highway. Today we have time to go slow. Beautiful day and some great caches. Thanks for bringing us here and the caches.

15:52, 29 Sept 2017, #363, On the way home we collected this one after stopping in this morning to get the info on the way to today's A-Zoo series. Once we had the info it was just a matter of working out the required details..
A quick find by Ali as Cliff5009 and myself had a quick look but knew where it was as I had just seen it, but left it for Ali as she was having a great fun day. The Log was signed and container replaced.
No Canola fields at the bottom of the hill as yet.. most years it is a sea of yellow... but as we were heading home on the freeway before Werribee there were lots of cars stopped on the side of the freeway with people taking pictures.. you would think they have never seen a field of yellow flowers before in their lives.. hmm maybe im used to it as we used to travel this freeway many times as kids growing up headed to the holiday house in Ocean Grove. TFTC. another one ticked off my to do and watch list.. ~:0)

Found while on way home from a very nice day out caching around the YOU YANGS, Thanks vp4, for placing this hide, I have had many occasions slept in truck within 20 metres of GZ as this is off the road and quiet
Well, after being spoiled with pressies from the kids this morning for Father's day we met up with my parents for Father's Day morning tea at Southbank.
After this the kids wanted to know what was next. I told them as it was Father's day it was my choice and caching it would be. I picked Little River as today's destination and off down the Freeway we headed.
This was the nearest cache after getting off the Fwy. Appropriate one to start at given I am also a Ken. Sad to find out why it is called Kenny's Hill though once we got to the memorial Plaque.
From the top we good see a storm was brewing so we decided we had better quickly find the final and try to do a few more caches before the rain came.
Thanks vp4 the views from up here are great.

As a grandfather you have certain obligations and when called upon, you dutifully come running. Today was one of those days and I needed to make the trip from the Yarra Valley to Geelong. So I left early, and stopped off in Little River to pass away some time. Poor old Kenny, he was born the same year as me. Thanks for this one vp4.
I got a knowing toot from a car while I was signing the log, I wonder who that was.

Last one for the evening before tea
Bounced the Geowagon up the wet track to find GZ
A nice view for a sad memorial
Got what was required and headed off to the final coords
Retrieved the cache but as I was about to exit the car to place the cache back in its hiding spot a car parked right opposite me
I waited for 10 mins then the decision was made to take the cache with me
I parked down the road made a phone call and hoped I was not going to be late for tea
Waited another 10 mins then went back to GZ hoping I was not going to have to take the cache with me
The car was gone so the cache was returned with much relief

Having had a really disappointing February (by my new standards) I had to get an early start for March, so on my way home from an Air Show Trade Day I made a point of stopping off to see how quickly I might find this one.
Didn't take long to do the arithmetic after visiting the posted cords and quickly thereafter found the hide.
The cache is in good condition.

Literally driving past this cache once again (I've lost count how many times now) and after our recent DNF and reassurance from several cachers that it is in fact an easy find we pulled up to our previously-calculated GZ and made the find immediately. *face palm* Honestly don'y know how we missed that last time! Oops. Nevermind, no longer shall this cache and its hill taunt us on the drive past. TFTC

I've driven past this hill so many times, but usually whizzing by on the freeway and thinking "I've really got to pick that cache up". Tried to grab it for my multi month challenge, but first time there were muggles parked at the bottom of the hill, and second a car drove past up to the top! I didn't realize you could drive up, so today we tried it. A bit scary but fun. Great views, sad story. Gathered the info, made calculations, made our way to GZ. Looked for quite a while and widened the search a lot. A couple of likely spots, but no cache joy. Noticed that it hadn't been found for a few months so not sure if its AWOL or just end of the day cache blindness. Thanks anyway; I guess this hill will continue to taunt and haunt me on my drives past for a while longer...

Took Mussie02 to show her how Multi-caches work. Nice view from the top, but watch out for all the garbage everywhere. Make sure to wear shoes, syringes and broken glass was scattered over the ground. TFTC
Now I also know what is up the top of that hill! Quite a lot of men have died during the constructions of various road and bridges that make up our roadwork system. It's good to remember them. Tftc.
This is another of those places that you just wouldn't have any idea was there unless a cache led you to it. We were amazed at just how good the view is from such a small mound. As it was getting late in the day, we were here just at the right time to be treated to a spectacular sun set as well. Thanks vp4 for bringing us here.
Turned off the highway here to head to the Its Puzzle Time series, so stopped to do this multi. Unfortunately today the view was extremely hazy so that the You Yangs were all but invisible. Will try to revisit to enjoy the view on a clearer day TFTC vp4
A little bit wet today an the ground was a tad muddy. I had no idea this memorial was here, thanks for the cache, and a fairly simple multi.
We had fed and watered after a long day and decided we could pick up a cache or two on the way back to Melbourne. We picked this cache up at 8:56pm. It was very dark by this time, but thankfully SirJ-Oz was very prepared and had a couple of torches.
SirJ-Oz and I headed to Ballarat to celebrate Pi Day with the locals and pick up some of the caches nominated for the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards that I hadn't gotten around to visiting before the awards. We joined in the events, did some walking and some paddling and had a great day before heading home via Geelong. Thanks for the cache vp4. This is my #10 multi for Multi March

Find #1770. Found @ 8:56:00 PM with LouiseAnn.
The plan for today was to travel to Bunninyong for a Pi day event, find some caches, paddle about in lake Wendouree, attend another event in Ballarat, then scoot off to Geelong for a third event, then head home.
This was the twenty-first of 21 finds/attends for the day, and mutli find #17 of my Multi-March adventure. We quickly zipped off the freeway to make this find, but parked in the wrong spot and hoofed it to WP1. I noticed on approach to WP1, that in the spill of the torchlight, the monument looked very ominously like a hunched person. Great, now I've slightly unsettled myself.
With GZ calculated, we decided to move the car to a better location. I was able to position us so that the headlights illuminated GZ to make things easier.
LouiseAnn made the find, as she happened to be on the correct side. As we signed, the wind was making a nearby tree-caught plastic bag flap and make noise (further adding to my feeling of unease). I'm glad it was just a plastic bag, and not the shuffling hooves of sonambulating bovines with dastardly deeds on their dreaming minds. With the logging portion complete, we returned to the car, and departed. It very soon afterwards started raining so that forced us to call it a night.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache vp4

Found this one today. I was looking for caches that had a bit of distance between them and the next cache. This one fitted the criteria and it also provided a great view today. As I approached I thought I wonder if the cache is there and after I had worked out the numbers voila there it was. Nice quick easy find and signing the log.

This is what I love about geocaching......I would never have noticed this cairn if you hadn't placed a cache here. Thanks for the opportunity to learn a piece of history.
What a very interesting cache that we had been going to do for sometime now and today in the 35 dregrees this was the day!! Great spot for a plaque. Enjoyed doing this multi and the 360 degrees views from Kenny's Hill were absolutely amazing. Had no trouble finding the cache as the co-ords were spot on. Took TB.
TFTC vp4 and bringing us here to see the plaque and the great views - much appreciated.

I can finally turn this one into a smiley today. I too, like the majority of cachers, never realised this little area existed. [?][?] A touching monument to such a tragic loss. A few short sums and it was off to GZ. Dropped off TB. TFTC vp4.
We were on our way past here and stopped in for this one, we were surprised when we arrived the the 1st waypoint, we had never even knew this place excisted, and never knew about the history here, thanks for bringing us here and showing us this cool and meaningful spot.
Have been intending to grab this cache for a while but never seen to have time to stop so today I decided to make the trip to find it. I haven't been here before but was happy to learn a little history, visit the memorial and enjoy the somewhat hazy view.
Thanks vp4 fit bringing me here !

Paid our respects to Kenny on a cold blustery day an way back to Melbourne from Little River in our motorhome.
i snapped a photo of this ages ago so that when i was back next i could track it down. today on heading up tp do some abseiling we came by here, i had put the coordinates into google earth so had a good idea where to find the treasure, sure enough the coordinates were out just enough to throw me but there are only limited places this cache could be so found it in the end. a great simple cache. thanks
Found! While going out for a shopping trip up to Werribee, this one was to be a quick stop before going back to the freeway and continue our drive. Pulled up the geo mobile just off to the side of the road and I made the trip up the hill. While grabbing the info I needed I started walking to where I think it would be. Calculations were done quickly and I was headed in the right direction. Once I closed in, the cache was quickly in hand and signed.

What a desolate little hill - and not much of a view today as very low level clouds. But thanks for sharing Kenny's story, and a simple calc led stright tot he cache. TFTC
#5315 This was our first cache of the Sunday on our caching weekend with Coruze. Dad noticed this little offset multi and thought that it would indeed be a nice break of our drive. Got to the starting WP and soon had the necessary numbers for GZ and a short while later the well hidden cache was in hand. Our thanks to vp4 for the enjoyable multi, cheers [^]
On a quick trip to Melbourne, caching all the way in the company of skullracing we stopped by this one as our first of the day. A nice quick multi that allowed us to keep moving with minimum fuss Thanks for the fun 'vp4'

After a short hiatus, Rebel Acts and I decided to take a night time trip down the west side of Port Phillip Bay collecting caches as we went. A good night, with lots of laughs. Thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements. Had this solved from home, just collected it today.
A big day of caching today with the aim of completing the G2Q bike trail of caches, which I managed to do. I had a ncie early start leaving home on the Mornington Peninsula at around 6:00 am and finding the first G2Q cache at 8:14 am. The next 17 hours I spent cycling approximately 70 km along the trail finding all types of caches and hides. Started heading back home around 1:00 am and headed back along the Old Melbourne Road to pick up a few caches before getting back onto the M1 and heading for home.
A nice multi to finish off for the cache run. Up the hill and some nice views of the M1 below. Some calculations and off to GZ for a quick find.
Thanks vp4.

The joys of geocaching. Never knew this was here and I go past it twice a day. Thanks for bringing me here and for the view. Log signed & replaced. TFTC & smiley face
Nice to have this one crossed off my list today. The day had cooled a little by the time i arrived here and i took the time to enjoy the 360 degree views before doing my calculations. I was pleased to note that the cache was not too far away.
I also didn't realise that the hill was named after a tragic accident.
