After camping the night over the road we drove across to say gday to the young lady looking after the small shop. After asking about this cache, she replied with a whats a geocache haha well we explained to her about how it works and after a bit of a look under the counter she came up trumps! So it was a yay from us and we carried on down the road towards our end goal, the cape. TFTC
After a bit of searching, and a very confused looking worker, the cache was discovered!! Thanks to the lovely staff member for persevering TFTC
Pulled into Jervois station purely to grab this gocache. I'd read the previous logs suggesting the cache was now under the counter at the shop so after stocking up on chippies and icecream, asked about the cache. The girl behind the counter was unsure whay we were talking about but soon found it and handed it over. Great to pick up this oldie in such good condition. Tftc
After a short and fruitless search of the tree I read the previous logs and headed over to the shop. Greater by a new mum with her 9 wk old baby who had never heard of geocaching but with explanation and encouragement a search under the counter revealed a very well maintained cache and we happily signed. Tftc
Thanks way-finder for the cache. It’s #1645 for us. We found your cache on 27 August 2022. Saw earlier log that it’s held at the shop. Asked and it appeared. Very cool place.
Stopped in to refuel and buy some snacks on our way out of the Hay River Track heading back east. The cache is at the shop - just ask for it. TFTC
Previous finds show the cache is at the station shop but the owner wasnt around and the friendly staff didnt know anything about it.
Day 25 of my solo camping trip north from Adelaide in search of some warmer weather (and a few caches of course!).
I travelled up the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through various areas in central and western Queensland, eventually ending up at Mount Isa. I’d left things a bit late in the season and it was getting a bit too warm, so instead of going further north, I crossed into the Northern Territory to Tennant Creek via the Barkly Highway then began to head south again.
As seems to be my way with these trips, I tend to get a bit distracted. I noticed two earthcaches that looked to be at interesting locations off the Binns Track well east of the Stuart Highway and north of the Plenty Highway, and another couple of older (by NT standards) Traditional caches only another 100 Km or so further east. A bit of a detour, but worth a look I thought.
I had read the previous log, so I went to the counter and asked for it. The woman there looked puzzled as she knew nothing about it. After some explaining she was able to find it and the logbook was duly signed and cache replaced under the counter.
Thanks way-finder for the cache.

Important: The cache is not at the co-ords, it is under the counter at the "Shop". Just ask for it, found that out by sheer luck. So, um, easy find.
This geocache was found while we travelled through Queensland on our around Oz adventure.
thanks

Traveling on the outback way trail with Crack n Lee Lee. TFTC we stopped and spoke to the new owner and her son. Lovely people, gave this one a favourite
We are on a geocaching holiday with 2beez with the Outback Way our main goal.
I initially looked at the posted co-ords but then remembered reading to see the owners. She was interested in what it was about as they had recently taken over from their parents.
Loved their kelpie "baked beans". He has a coat that looked like baked beans.
Cache in good condition. Thanks way-finder for the cache for us to enjoy.

We are heading off on an outback adventure with Mrs Just a Trifle looking forward to visiting Goodward Station in Boulia, which was once owned by her grandfather, and Mr Just a Trifle hoping to climb Ayers Rock before it is permanently closed to climbing
As usual, with responsibilities caring for grand children and elderly parents, we still can not take the time we would really like to explore this great land of ours so yet again it is mostly an express trip through some terrific locations.
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you way-finder for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Thanks! Make sure you chat to Denise at the counter she is the keeper of the cache.
A lovely friendly station owner pumped fuel for us and chatted away happily - she had super ice cream in a cone too! And she keeps the cache under the counter in the shop now because it keeps gettling muggled. So ring the buzzer next to the petrol pump ( It's LOUD) and she will come and help you. Ice creams are $3 what a bargain in this faraway place.
Over the past few weeks a group of us explored the Simpson Desert traversing along the Rig Road, WAA Line, French Line and the Hay River Track. Wow what an adventure we had out in the desert, except for the flies!
The cache is now located at the office at Jervois Station, the owner is very helpful and will hand over the cache.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We were the first to log for 2018! Maybe this is the start of the tourist season?
Looked for the cache and realised to try the office. Had a great chat to the lady at the office and a great stay at Jervois Cattle Station.
OK ,we did get this one, but not at the published co-ords. The station staff said it kept getting muggled so they relocated it into the shop. So you have to ask at the shop for the cache.
Signed at the station shop, the new resting place for this cache. Alas I didnt get the new coords for you.
TFTC Great place to stop and visit, would have stayed but too early in the day. We had lunch under the shade of the coolabah tree. Denise is very friendly.
After finding a great little camping spot east of Gemtree we awoke keen to see what the day held although we weren't expecting to find very many on this part of the journey.
We really enjoyed visiting this area and the information provided on the nearby sign. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the shelter but we did have a bit of a laugh about how times have changed and also had no idea of the low level rocket testing that Woomera was doing in the sixties. We arrived just within opening hours but you had to ring the bell to get the lady to come out but we didn't think it right to do that just for a cache when we had adequate fuel to keep going so we decided to leave happy with the information.
As we were about to leave a land cruiser pulled up at the bowsers and pressed the buzzer so we hopped back out and spoke to the very friendly lady after she had finished serving her customers.
So happily we added our name to the log book before heading off again.
Thanks once more for the cache way-finder.

Tagging along with the "Rats" on holidays has it's advantages, not only do we get to see our cool country but we also get to do a heap of caching as Dad just can't help himself and has to stop at every cache he can.
Heading across Australia on nearly every dirt road possible we stopped and found your cache as part of our adventure and for that, I thank you! Sorry about the log being a "cut n paste" but tthats just because we stopped at so many caches.

The Rats and mini rats found this cache as part of our Purposeful Meander across Oz where we visited every mainland state in 8 weeks.
Apologises for the late log in some cases but we are only just catching up on our logging now that we have arrived back home. Your cache makes up many of the great memories we now have from the adventure. The faceplate style log doesn't detract from the experience we had finding the cache.
Thanks

A fuel stop required, " chinwag" to the lady, paid , over to GZ. retrieved the note !! TURNED around and the lady was walking towards me ,big smile ,,and a container.Explained the situation , with many thanks ,and off !!! thanks way-finder...
Oops !!
I popped in for some fuel,
and pushed the button !! [:o]
The nice lady dutifully filled the geomobile up,
and I dutifully paid for me fuel
Then I wandered over to GZ to find a cache.
I found the jar with the note.
But I didn't have the nerve to push that button again,
and disturb the nice lady, just so I could get hold of the geocache
I'll find it next time I pass this way
Manners matter out here by the creek !!

A welcome stop on the long drive from Gemtree to Boulia. Found a jar in the coolabah with a note in it to see the kiosk. A friendly lady came out and explained a recent flood made them save it. Bought a pack of minties for their troubles. Thanks way-finder.
Hi there way-finder - today is Thursday - we left Gemtree this morning headed towards Queensland and Brisbane. The main event at Blatherskite Park is over but but our holiday is still on. .This is our find #4532 - thanks to way-finder for this cache.
6244 Found by baby&Mrs gopher in company with Hercs&Pinky at 1330. Needed a bit of fuel to complete the travels. Went and found the container only to find out the cache was in the shop. rang the buzzer and a lovely lady came out and handed us the log. SL Tnx way-finder

Early morning escape from Alice Springs, a long drive to Mt Isa with sobbingtons.
Took the Gemtree - Uramdangie route,. Lots of dirt roads and bulldust but a pleasant drive that was quite quick. Another find with sobbingtons and entourage.
Just have to love these places!
Note that the cache is in the store

Travelling around Australia and now super excited to be finally starting our trek to the Easter Geocaching Event at Alice Springs.
Found this cache on Day 2 of our Donohue/Plenty Hwy shortcut from Queensland to Northern Territory. Cache is in good order but now located in the shop open 7.30am to 6.00pm at the station. (difference of approx 45mts) They have placed a sign at GZ to redirect geocachers so you can find it. [^]
Travelling with our 23ft caravan so always wary of where we can pull over or what side tracks we take. No problem with that here though, we even managed to refuel. We crossed from Boulia to Gemtree in 3 days and without getting any flat tyres!

Long time ago my wife and me had the dream to drive the Outback-way. This year we fulfilled this dream. We know that there are long distances to go, so we decided to interrupt the long drives with the caches on the way.
I am at home again and try to log all the found caches. As we found over 100 caches within 4 weeks, I am posting the same log on many of them. When we have a detailed memory of a cache I will add more details. However, thanks all of you for placing the caches. We had a lot of fun!
For this cache we had to call the woman at the station a second time within a short period. But we had a nice conversation and talked about topics we hadn't talked about before. A nice interruption!

This was a nice easy container to find using the hint and had information inside it. We went and had a chat to the friendly ladies in the shop who knew about the cache. We told them a bit more about the caching game and were then on our way to search for the next one. Thank you way-finder for placing another cache along the Plenty Highway.
One of our team members stayed here overnight. Wonderful place to be. Thank you for this cache en greetings from the Netherlands
Found it, a great little place with lots of history. Station owner very helpful and informative, thanks for placing this cache here
Found no worries but didn't want to bother the shop again as we had just filled up and she had gone back in the homestead to answer the phone. thx way-finder for the hide.
This time it was an easy find although I did not knock up the shop as we were only passing through quickly, sign the paper in the cache.. Thanks
Stayed overnight at Jervois Station, had a great shower. Nice spot and nice people. Took Kookaburra left Kangaroo. TFTC

How exciting to be the first in the new log. Can confirm that it is up and running again - just persevere. Thanks to Denise for making sure it stays alive. For that and the history of the place it gets a favourite from me. TFTC SL TNLN
Can confirm that this one is no longer there. Had a good look but only found something that might have been in the cache.
Spent some considerable time looking for the cache in the hollows of "where the kookaburra sits" but nothing.
Spoke to the lady at the station to confirm it's location and was advised that it was there a couple of days earlier as she saw someone with it. Looks like it has gone missing [:(!] Hopefully i am wrong and i was just really blind.
Unfortunately i didn't have a replacement kit with me at the time.

This was the last cache for the day and we got in just before closing time to fill up with fuel. We met Missy the 3 month puppy who loves to chew thongs and sneakers! Also the cattle with calves that moo'd around the vehicle checking us out. We met a traveller who 'blew' 2 tyres on the road east of here (where we'll go tomorrow). Found the cache while the others started setting up camp for the night and this was the easiest cache I've found for a while. The showers were lovely and hot and we had a peaceful nights sleep. TFTC
Found at 10.10 with team trailor.

An easy find especially as you could see it a mile off, not hidden at all, so we made sure it was covered when we left. Had a chat to a lady and checked out the rocket bits, big aren't they? Another quick stop on our travels. TFTC

Nice easy find after stopping for fuel at Jervois and having a lovely chat with one of the managers, who bizarrely grew up in SA not far from me. TFTC.
Find number 2 for the day, and find number 74 on the tenth day of our month long trip to Warwick, Lightning Ridge, Boulia, Plenty Highway, Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Darwin, and home. Found at 0900hrs Qld time.
