As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. I noticed that this cache has been in need of owner attention for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

This cache hasn't been found since March 2013, could the CO please check that it is still there or else it needs to be archived.
I feel a bit reluctant logging this as a DNF but we did have a good look and came up with nothing. With two previous DNF's spanning over the past few months, maybe it is missing after all. Perhaps the CO could have a quick check. Thanks
Stealth wasn't so much needed for this one surprisingly on a busy Friday night. Was out playing Ingress and someone asked if the cache was still here while we were waiting. Went and had a look and sure enough there it was! TFTC
Thank you for this cache, which I found during my holiday in amazing New Zealand. Kind regards.
frenchfairy and I attempted this one about 2 years ago but didn't get close enough. turns out that public holidays are the way to go ! no one in sight today. easy. TFTC
Today on sunday not so much muggels around and with the hint no problem.

Relatively easy at 8am, hardest part was getting the logbook out of the cache

Good grief! The last one of a long day that had us close to giving up. Managed to perform a public service and direct some of the general public to another location on campus while we were there. Penangboy eventually sniffed it out, and we were able to call it a day and head home. TFTC
An awesome find! What a way to end our geocaching hunt for the day. Truly ingenious and challenging.
Came back to have another stab at this - I don't like doing high muggle areas generally. This time I lucked in - no special technique required apart from timing - at 8:30am on a Friday just three muggles about.
Remnant tatters of two over full logs here. Ditched them and put in a fresh new Rite in the Rain log.

We've been here over a week for the NZMEGA EVENT and had a fantastic time. This cache was near to our accommodation and still we hadn't searched for it. Came here in the rain and found the sneaky little blighter and managed to sign the log. LOG IS REALLY FULL so we just signed with initials AL. Sorry but I didn't have another nano log to replace this one. Thanks though wallaceDuo for a fun cache in a lovely area.
Today is my last day in Dunedin... I decided to grab a couple of caches this morning before heading back toward Christchurch...
Thanks to all the CO’s & the Event organisers... I've had an absolute blast...
Grabbed this cache whilst travelling and taking in the fantastic views & interesting sights around the area... What an absolutely beautiful country to explore and photograph...
Thanks For the cache & for bringing me here (Public Holiday helped)...

Time for a few early morning finds with the Walenators.
We wandered nonchantly through the grounds surprised at the number of students about. They must all be highly motivated then struggled at GZ. We were eventually joins by a few other cachers turning into a mini event.
One of them made the find where I had already looked even though my GZ was some 6-7 metres away.
Log is completely damaged and needs replacing
Thanks for the caching fun

Found on a cold and wet morning with the Earthbounds after attending the NZ Mega. TFTH...SL...TNLN
Last day of caching today with The Machman before he heads back home to Australia.
The weather forecast was for thunderstorms and 5degrees today. Whilst it was very very windy, no thunderstorms were seen, a little rain at times it was a little warmer at 7degrees maximum but with the wind we had our doubts at times, we did notice at one cache the car said it was only 3 degrees.
Stopped by to check out the nearby Earth Cache and just couldn't go past this one too. Sprang some other cachers on the hunt before Mr Felix located the cache where others had already looked!

My last day in Dunedin today before I head back home to Australia.
With this in mind FELIX prepared a list of the most "FAVOURITED" caches in the area for us
to complete.
The nearby Earth Cache was on the list but I just couldn't let this one go as it was so close.
This was my very FIRST nano I had sighted in NZ..... so they do exist !!!!
Delighted to finally see one !!!!
We came across some other cachers at GZ, so stopped for a quick chat.

We didn't bother with stealth as it was Sunday. There was a small number of faces on the other side of the glass and whether we entertained them, fooled them or they just didn't care we'll never know. Gunnie and I put on a bit of a show while we peered in under over around before I spotted the cache and then gunnie made the grab. The return was a bit more elegant.
Day 4 on our caching trip to Dunedin for the NZ MEGA 2012 event with Gunnie69, Kaisho53, Ozibags, Ghostgumsand MrMeccano. The morning was spent wandering the Flagstaff hunting in the mist & rain, rambling and plundering. After the CITO event, the afternoon was spent starting at the Octagon and heading through North Dunedin, around Forsyth Barr Stadium, University of Otago and heading out towards Leith Valley.
Sorry about the late lo but almost caught up now

Replacement worked out worse that extraction but we managed..

Oh boy, this was an uncomfortable grab today... The group arrived to find the nearby glass walls filled with observers from "the other side"... Trying our best to act "Nonchalant" we hunted around a bit but initially failed to locate the container...
After some stretching and twisting, TheFourBees spotted what we were after and advised me of the location. I swiftly moved in for the grab and brought the cache out for log signing... [^] All done, I think it was more difficult trying to put it back than it was to retrieve... Hmm, nasty place to hide a cache...
Found with fellow Queensland hunters Kaisho53, OziBags, TheFourBees, Ghostgums and Mr Meccano.
Cheers wallaceDuo.

Day 8 of our N Z Mega Event adventure - we awoke to another day just right for caching and sightseeing. We had no difficulty locating the cache and with the log quickly signed, it was now time to jump into our cache mobile to see what other caches we could find for the day. Thank you for having placed the cache wallace Duo
Caching with Ghostgums, Mr Meccano, Gunnie69, kaisho53 and fourbees while attending the NZ Mega. A special type of cache requiring great stealth technique.
I think half the library occupants could have seen us if they weren't so stressed out studying for exams Found by Kaisho53. TFTC WallaceDuo

A neat little find after attending the CITO Event and before heading out to the Mega Event site to check in. A very interesting spot to have a wander around, thanks for bringing us here.
Found with fitzy_1965, Winglen, ZsaZsa7 and our NZ caching mate Rextrex on our 8 day trip to NZ for the Mega Event. We visited many areas, found some great caches and had a great time.
Many thanks to all cachers for yet another find in NZ.

Part of my stealth cover was making a phone call back home to Australia, while others looked, tied shoes etc! Thanks wallaceDuo for a nice hide.
Nabbed this one as part of a weeks caching the South Island with SolDelune, RexTrex Mrs Winglen and Fitzy_1965. This one took way too long to locate, thank God it was a Sunday, even still there were quite a few people about to observe us "taking in" the art.
Thanks for another wallaceDue.

A shared find with my Aussie caching mates Winglen, Zsazsa7, Sol de Lune and Fitzy-1965 as a part of the NZMEGA2012 experience and our subsequent tour.
Managed to squeeze the team initials onto the log. Thanks WallaceDuo.

Now that the group was finally together after some problems with Flights it was time to start some serious caching ! We went for a walk around central Dunedin then attended the CITO. After that was over we headed around town to find some more caches. We parked nearby and walked into GZ. There were many people around so I just dived in and had one of those caching moments when the cache is in the very first place you look (feel). Happy with that ! Log full so just initials. Thanks again wallaceDuo !

Found as part of the Gangsters- The Rats, Farmer Frentzen and Big Matt and Shell- as part of our NZ Mega Event Tour 2012.
I always like a bit of artwork and this was another in that category. We made short work of the cache and it was lucky it was pretty quiet on our visit. TFTC!

Found this cache as part of the Gangster's Aussie assault on the first NZ Mega with Big Matt, FarmerFrenzten and steeba.
Heading down into town this morning we found the area quite deserted which made our trek around the Uni very easy. A nice quick find.
Thanks

Found on our short but Mega trip across the ditch. we flew in to Christchurch on Friday, drove to Dunedin on Saturday, cached on Sunday, drove back to Christchurch on Monday and flew home on Tuesday. Tiring, expensive and well worth it.
We didn't need to do too much here - there was enough activity that noone was very interessted in us and Wazza was onto the hide straight away.

Today it was just Suly1 and I to grab a few caches and learn and see a bit more of this beautiful town.
Despite the forecast, the weather held up once again, and we had a great day finding some clever and simple hides, but all were a joy to find.
Thanks again wallaceduo, tricky but achievable.
NB: Magnet is rusted and barely holding on

Found with bogonghazy whilst in town for the Mega Event. We had a great few days caching around Dunedin, and the weather was perfect, even though some places were quite muddy underfoot. My Thanks to the CO for the placement of this cache, and for bringing us here today.
Found during 'The Gangsters' trip to New Zealand, being Big Matt, The Rats, steeba and myself.
A nice quick find on a Sunday morning with nobody around.

1689th cache found by WazzaAndWenches.
Waz and the Wenches are in Dunedin for the NZ Mega Event over the weekend.
We joined with The Morris today then split our two teams into halves so we could legitimately cache in two places at once.
We arrived at GZ to find a number of muggles sitting just inside the huge glass windows. Like most muggles, they were totally engrossed in their own little worlds and didn't notice us walk up to GZ and snatch the cache away to write the log a few meters away. The return was just the same method.
Thank you wallaceDuo for what could have been a very serious challenge if more muggles were around the area.

This time it was a quick grab, but unfortunately the logbook was full so had to sneak our initials in a free corner. TFTC
Tricky little blighter this one! Got it in the end though. GZ seemed to be 'movable' according to my gps.
Was on my way South to the first Mega in New Zealand which was being held in Dunedin. Managed to work it out so that I was able to team up with fozzmiester and agcnz and go on an 8 day caching trip around the South Island, this was day 1 of the road trip.
After finding GC3978M - The Superman Cache (Otago), this was the nxt cache that we had on our list to find today, as it was getting a bit latter in the evening we thought that this would be a great time for us to attempt a few caches that would otherwise be very hard to get.
Read the cache discription and realising what was required we thought that we would get away without being muggled, after seaching the most obvious locations and coming up empty handed, fozzmiester was able to find the cache in a spot that we had search, , dont you love it when this happens.
This is definitely a spot that I would not want to attempt getting a cache in the middle of the day as it would be sheer impossible, thanks for placing this cache here and for the experience, really enjoyed the opportunity and we passed the test, TFTC TNLNSL (4968).

A night time visit with the area fairly deserted meant that extreme stealth was not required. I was very pleased to coax the cache from its hidey hole after the spot had aleady been searched by the others .
Found as part of an 8 day NZ Mega Event trip. Day 1 - Christchurch to Dunedin in the company of Yeetrees and agcnz. Thanks to the owners of the 500 + caches which I had the pleasure to find along the way and which contributed to a very fun trip.

Came here in the evening after arriving in Dunedin with fozzmiester and Yeetrees for the MEGA event. This cache had defeated me on a couple of previous night visits and it was fozzmiester who located it in a spot I swear I had searched very carefully before. Such is life... Signed log, TFTC
Stormed the castle because I thought the solace was behind me, poetically.
Better I get behind the solace, stealthily.
I was as nonchalant as a train crash. Tried to act like I was a) reading my iPad and b) admiring art. I looked like a tourist who was studying sculpture engineering.

Good to get this one crossed off the list. Log was full, and damp after all the rain this week. I added a strip of orange paper to the cache.
I know where it is and determined to get it but must go back when no one is around. Hmmm challenge...
Found but as for previous could not sign log. My phone had me way off and was about to give up when I thought "Where would I put it?". Spotted it in an instant. TFTC
Quick find after trying to act nonchalant in front of the two security guards patrolling the area.
Timing the muggles just right is an important skill for this one! Couldn't sign the log book as it's full and getting pretty raggedy. TFTC
Needed to be really stealthy as choose to do it in the middle of the day with many around when in the area doing leg work with Ingidayna for another cache. Excellent hide, love the saying about time. Log is full - needs replaced. TFTC:)
Finally found this one. Had a try at this one last time I was in Dunedin and we couldn't find it anywhere!! Found it this time no worries at all. Nice wee hide! TFTC
Have had a crack at this once before, with four of us searching, but despite the hint we didn't find it! Today however we were able to tick this one off the list.

#1098 Found while visiting from Oz enjoying this wonderful country. No subtely required as all the passing muggles were hurried rushing to the big Rugby game on in town and taking no notice of us. Spotted it straight away on approach so no earching required. Thanks wallaceDuo.
This is a bit embarassing. I displayed zero mastery in finding this cache; also no stealth techniques were employed whatsoever. In fact I didn't even find it. The truth is that it was given to me by a security guard.
I was nearby, obtaining information for a multicache and had just closed my notebook when the guard approached me and asking if I was playing the "GPS game". I replied in the affirmative and said I had found what I was after. He then said "No, you haven't; it's over here". At this point, he walked quickly to a nearby location and returned with the container. I thanked him very much, signed the log and provided a little more information to add to his knowledge of geocaching, which turned out to be not as extensive as I originally guessed it was. This was all news to his companion who seemed totally bemused by the whole episode.
I am not actually sure that I would have attempted to find this cache. The plan was to check my GPSr to see if there were any other caches as I visited the multi WPs. I can't be certain I would have remembered to, though.
Anyway, TFTC

The GPS was all over the place and we had to pretend to be looking for insects. The area was reasonably quiet until there was a sudden influx of people, looked like a large group of tourists. They weren't too interested in us but they were everywhere, and taking lots of photos!
Almost gave this one up but reread the cache page, spotted the free hint and cache soon in hand.

Took a lot of searching to find this one. Once Mum gave us the free hint we found it pretty quickly. TFTC.
Found by Oldest after dinner. Great time of the year to try this one. Managed to write very small in a bit of blank space. TFTC
The scroll was completely full and needs to be replaced. No space left to sign in.
Found but as previous posts have mentioned the log is very very full and I was unable to sign it.
Had a few goes looking for this one, Had no idea where it was until I had another look at the clue. Didn't get to fill in the log as it was full. TFTC
The 37th find for the day with ingidayna. A revisit to this one after being not successful last time. An easy find this time with the help of previous logs. The 99th find for the week with ingidayna. TFTC
revisit after a re read of past logs. Our 100th this week found with wethreefourdices was a late night and the locals looked at us funny as we were dressed diff to them giggle giggle. TFTC
Marked end of log with yellow marker as i have a bit of trouble with small objects cos ive my fat fingers lol.Went first light so no drama TFTC
Found 3 for the day. Took awhile. I am Chinese bike tourist studying art. Still lots of muggles walking through
Found at about 10pm on a friday night.. after waiting for about half an hour for muggles to go away. Quite entertaining though as there were 3 drunk students caught tagging (with chalk) the st david lecture theatre by the campus watch!! Log needs replacing.
Didn't worry about the code but once again Geojen found the cache in quick order. Lovely old buildings here but it seems a pity to me that they are largely hidden by the new ones in front. That's progress I suppose.
Thanks indeed.
