Came away for the Bunyas for Mrs Ambayu birthday and some family time. Couldnt resist stopping at the Earthcache to grab the information and to get this cache. Mrs Ambayu was not overly pleased that we were catching in her birthday but I promised I would be quick. In hindsight it would have been safer to take some more time as that slope was a bit tougher descending then I believed at first. But a quick find and a quick up the hill and we were back on the road to our break. There looked to be a route coming from the south that looked a little safer. So maybe worth considering for the next finders. TFTC
Headed off to this first thing in the morning looking for a nice big cache. Bit of a worry having to wade through thigh high grass not knowing what was in there or underfoot and then down the ravine. It was a bit hairy, quick find of a good container and came back covered in cobblers pegs, razor vine spikes and then found a few ticks on us as well. So, although it was a nice big cache and a good start to the morning it was not particularly pleasant. Good view though. TFTC
Had a fun hike to reach this cache. Took a better way back but still a tough trek, especially while wet and muddy. Tftc
No luck today. Got within 30m & our little one jacked up with the cobblers peg & Lantana. Husband realised he'd lost his Oakley sunglasses & a new search began. If anyone finds the sunnies, let us know.....
One of my favourite types of geocache. Great location and great hide. All in good condition.TFTC
Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka. It’s more than likely he’d found this one.
Targeting 4 LGA’s and some rarer DT today. Decent, scenic drive to this one and it’s neighbour to pick up Western Downs and South Burnett LGA’s.
Spectacular views from up here and with the hide being so off-piste it’s likely to last another 16 years. Cachers must have been tougher back then to rate this only a T2.
Thanks jg047 for adding to my day. Have a favourite point.

What a hike! Not sure we came at this the right way. Not for young kids or the faint of heart.
First stop on our way home from the Bunya Mountains. Made my way downhill once I figured that's likely where the cache would be, and had the sizeable container in hand soon after.

After spending the day in one of our favourite places, the Bunya Mountains, we grabbed this one on the way home. With L-Plater Junior LDavs at the wheel, he navigated the gravel track to the parking area, which as previously stated by the CO, is a worksite with some big gravel piles and trucks- however easily accessible and plenty of space for parking. Headed off to the GZ with EeePees leading way, JDavs was a little hesitant after reading previous logs of ‘bush bashing’ and ‘stinging nettle’. However was easier than expected and soon the cache was found, signed and replaced! TFTC!
Thanks for the cache and the adventure.
Greetings from Tassie.
Cheers, EPs.

Will add context to the log later, sorry!

Found! A bit of an explore /bush bash to find, but it was at the correct coordinates.
Long hard trek through the bush, didn’t encounter any stinging nettle luckily
After a nice bushbash through stinging nettle, lantana and prickly vines, we got through to the forest and the cache was found. TFTC
A day of bushwalking in the bunya mountains with so many spectacular views along the way. This was our first stop along the way before we begin our bushwalks further along this road.

Having a lovely drive in the Bunya Mountains today and stopped off here for the cache - what some lovely views across the valley. Hubby went off in search of the cache and he obviously went the wrong way because he was up hill and down dale but he got there in the end. All good with the cache, TFTC jg047
Called to check on this cache and grab the TB. The parking there at the moment is full of gravel ready for road maintenance so be careful when parking and keep a lookout for trucks.
Cache is in good condition.

This one turned out to be a little more than I'd thought. Parked in the nearby place expecting a drive by but soon realized not the case. After an interesting stroll through the overgrown surrounds I found myself plunging into the forest. Happily the coordinates were spot on for me and I had the find in no time. Dropped off a TB to continue it's travels. Enjoyed this one, a favorite point from me. TFTC jg047
It was a perfect day for the Bunya Mountains. Not too hot, not too cold.

Met up with RoddyC, Hatsoff and GrannySmith1947 who were on their way home from QOGM21, I had been to QOGM21 but came home earlier and now spending a couple of days in the Bell and Bunya region. Beautiful views from the car park but a hard slog into the cache. Log signed by all and replaced as found. Now to find our cars. TFTC

On our way home from Charleville spending a couple of days in the Bunya area before finally arriving home after almost the weeks away.
Found the best way in. All OK today. Cobblers pegs are mostly gone. Cut away the pesky lawyer vine.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 9:08 AM on October 4, 2021. TFTC, jg047

Travelling with RoddyC imbunda and GS1947 after our stay in Cunnamulla for the 2021 QOGM and some preparation for 2022 QOGM in Charleville. Targeting caches around Bunya and surrounds.
Saw some samples of the pencil orchid (in flower) and clamshell but sadly the were on the ground and most likely won't survive. A ground orchid was looking quite healthy.
Just stopping to convert some green dots to smiles.

After finding a few more caches in Bell early this morning it was time to head to Bunya Mtns and a few detours along our way with E_Smiley.
This was our first one to find on the Mtn, we made our way via the lowest point and up to the nice views and then down to the old cache where it was found quickly.

The terrain rating probably needs to be lifted a little. The grass is very long, lots of stinging plants just waiting to grab you and very steep as you near GZ. All part of the fun though.

Nice. Bald spots looking like they always did nice and green before the mountains dried up.nice misty windy sunny Bunya autumn weather love it.
I, for one, was happy to only have an 89m walk to GZ as every other cache I'd done today had been a minimum 2.5km walk to GZ. Yeah, it's a bit overgrown but I didn't have any significant difficulty and I made a quick find at GZ. Thanks for the cache
Found at 1:04 PM GAFF1.
Holy moly - that was the hardest 89 metres that I have done for a cache that was a mere 1.5/2.0. Getting down to the area before actually getting into the thick of things was tough enough and worthy of a 1.5/2.0!
Trying to then dodge the thorny vines and work my way to GZ was another little ordeal and then the cache was found in the first spot that I looked - thank goodness for a totally exposed container where you think it is where it is going to be!
Not much of a Bunya View from here - unless you want to see Bunya tree really close [:o)] The views were more impressive getting down to GZ.
Thanks jg047

This cache looked a lot easier than it was. Apart from the actual hide, the local council workers had set up shop right where you park to start the walk [:(!].
It was easier to go away and come back later in the afternoon. When we returned, we had it all to ourselves, so set off through the long grass for GZ. With only 20-30 metres to go, I looked into the bush and thought, "this is not going to be easy". After some hesitation, I walked downhill, skirting the ugly, thorny stuff and discovered GZ coming closer. Then an opening of sorts appeared and it didn't look so bad afterall [^]. In I went and after just a few spikes and careful footsteps, found the cache.
This business of old caches with original logbooks is one of the best things about Bunya caching. Even at 6pm I spent some time looking through the names. When I left, I went straight up the hill and discovered it wasn't near so daunting as it looked when I arrived.
Geez, I'd like a dollar for every time I've said that in a cache log .

Headed to this one with Mr LLJ - through many spikey weeds and cobblers pegs! Mr LLJ found the cache, signed the log and then we watched the sunset over the Western Downs - very pretty.
On my way down the mountains. Pulled in for one last Bunya find.
Happy to have more caches left up here.

Do not recommend for ppl with weak knees or ankles.

Awesome find once you get there but quite the track. Would definitely not recommend to people with bad knees as the terrain is quite slippery. The cobblers are also everywhere haha got heaps of souvenirs with this find!
Beautiful spot once you get here!! Not sure the terrain rating is accurate as there isn't a defined path any more. Lots of stick weed, thorns & long grass.
Wish I brought my trackable to pop in here.

On our way home and this is the last cache of the day. I headed into find the cache slipping and sliding in the leaves. Was covered cobbler spikes which took ages to pull out. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks jg047. All good with this cache.
Tricky little spot.
I would recommend decent shoes to find this one also long pants & long sleeve shirt. It is off the beaten track somewhat with stinging nettles & sharp thorny vines to contend with & the cobbler pegs were bad when I did it.

Up in Crow Nests for Christmas with the family. I had organise a caching day with my geobuddy Grannysmith1947. She had to cancel because family had organise family get together.
Then I got of to slow start because of my eye still playing up.
My aim for today was couple old caches and other caches for another challenge.
Grab 10 caches for today

Visiting from Perth. Cache was located a surprisingly long distance from the parking area. Thanks for the cache.
Little Scoob had fun scrambling to the cache. StephLego did not come all the way down. last cache before leaving the Mountain. Dropped a TB for the next finder
Got to gz once god settles and spotted an obvious tree to hide a cache after a scramble but no joy this time.... great view though
Was an interesting walk. Got a lot of prickles in my shorts, definitely wear long pants!
Wow... this was hard but fun for a beginner. I’m still getting use the app and navigating. We spotted a wallaby on the way... he led us in the right direction.
Im sure i looked for this cache around 10 years ago and gave up when we looked where it nay be hidden.
Ive down terrain 3 caches that were easier than this one although once you find the right way in its its fairly straight forward.
We saw 2 black feral pigs not far from gz.
Great views to the west.
Thanks

Don’t know how this is only a terrain 2, but we’re not complaining as it was fun regardless . We would recommend the wearing of sturdy boots and long pants when tackling this cache though. GZ was off by roughly 5-8m, so just make sure to have your caching hat on , but you’ll be rewarded with a very large and secure container. Took one of the golf balls and left a dinosaur . Thank you jg047 for the cache.
Found this one with Bugglewiff on the 1/6! What a trek! Think we went the hard way! Provided many laughs after falls down the hill and coming back absolutely covered in farmers friends. Was so satisfying eventually finding it!
Man what a trek! Hasnt been found for a few months and now i know why! Good trek, was slightly terrified but worth the mission.
Down there? It can’t be! There’s no views down there!
Slip sliding it is then!

Nearing the end of our day in the Bunya Mountains today, we decided to grab just one or two more caches before heading back for dinner and to our cabin for the night.
We pulled up close but not too close to this cache, as I didn't want to get the geomobile bogged in the mud here. Then we headed on over... and then it had to be down! Well the ground here was rather slippery with all the wet, but somehow we made it, and found the cache. Then it was equal effort to get back up again and off to the car.
Thos cache was definitely more than a T2 in wet weather that's for sure!
Thanks for the cache jg047.

With my new swag to test out, an overnight camp in the Bunya Mountains with plenty of bushwalking to find all the great caches on offer seemed ideal. After finishing off the answers for the nearby Earthcache, I wandered over the hill to find the GPS pointing me in *there*. I did some slip sliding before coming to rest near a gorgeous big tree, and there it was!

Day 3 of the Big Bunya Blitz
I'm on the quest to find 50 of Queensland's oldest and finest caches and there just happens to be 4 at the Bunya Mountains. What a shame, LOL! I've managed to convince the family and some muggle friends that we need to visit this beautiful part of the world, so we're going to spend the next couple of days doing quite a bit of bushwalking
The last of our Bunya Mountains caches - we actually visited this spot yesterday while we were getting info for the Earthcache, but we didn't have time to do both as we were going to run out of daylight. Today Geohubby and the teenagers waited in the car and enjoyed the views while I headed in to find the cache. I looked at where the compass was pointing. You want me to go where? . I have to say I went in the adventurous way and came out the easy way. I don't think this cache will ever get muggled . TFTC jg047, I had fun looking for it.

I had a quick look nearby this cache last year but I wasn't confident about what I was doing and so I left it to go find some others in the area. Back today and had my Wonder Woman outfit on underneath my thermal top, not that it was needed (the Wonder Woman suit, that is... the thermal t-shirt turned out to be a flippen great idea), and I parked the geo-kia and off I set.
I meandered forwards up the hill across the grass in case there was a nice easy geotrail, and finding none I cut across and down in the direction the GPSr was pointing. Wow, what gorgeous big old trees. Ooh here's a very special one, and a neat cache nestled beneath it! I signed the log and headed straight up the hill back to the car. Thanks for this cache, jg047.

Found with the geo-crew whilst driving up the mountain on a Sunday morning. Top spot and a good introduction to the day of walking ahead. Many thanks jg047
Spectacular views here, even the geokids commented. We drove & parked here for the earthcache & then headed back onto the main stretch for this cache. We quickly realised we needed to return to our original location to pick this one up. That is until we found it... should've parked lower & not upper. Tnln sl tftc xo
TFTC! Be prepared for spikes and stings and a high terrain rating. Grabbing travel bug to put in more heavily trafficked location.
Took me a while....,. Then saw what I was looking for! You know when you get that feeling and you see something from a distance....! Argh! Few cuts and scratches - woohoo! Mission accomplished! TFTC

After a fantastic day at [Rural Challenge 2016](http://coord.info/GC6FDQE) yesterday, Team Canyonero still had daylight to put to good use. With Fangsoki at the wheel and Crew153 in Command central the Powerful Purple Paj headed this way, and key to our journey this awesome morn was here. The views ... well the views are stunning. Windy and freezing cold, sure, but still the views were simply awe inspiring.
OK, to business. We found a way out of the wind, and ended up going deeper into the woods than we were expecting - but in due course a likely spot was located - and a cache was found.
Thanks for placing this cache, jg047. Found in good condition.

We had parked on the side of the road and then searched for an access route up the bank Pprime decided to take the direct route while Fangsoki and I walked up the hill and soon discovered that we could have driven up closer to the cache, Fangsoki walked back to relocate tie car while I continued up the track to join Pprime at the top.
We then headed off to locate the cache but found some dense bush and slippery slopes to negotiate to get to GZ. I don't know that there is an easier route but we certainly made it harder than a terrain 2 to get there.

I was in the area with Pprime and Crew 153 and we decided to drop in on this one.
I had always approached the Bunya Mountains from a different angle and never managed to get to this cache. Today was different.
So we failed on the approach. Pprime climbed up a hill - only to tell me there was a road that we hadn't seen. I went back and got the car and parked up in a more sensible area.
We followed our GPSr's toward the cache. Hmmmmm down there? I decided to go wide around the forest. It was looking good - I yelled out to the others. However, they opted to come down through the forest.
I'm not sure on the Terrain rating of "2" of this one - it's more like a "3" in my opinion - but we got there in the end.
After a search, I soon bought the beast to light. I took the trackable and we dropped in a few others. With the log-signing duties done, and the cache safely hidden, we were off back up the hill.
I followed the others up. Holy - she's a steep beast. We finally got back to the car and removed the obligatory cobblers pegs.
This one was a bit of fun - and a bit unexpected. But I enjoyed it. TFTC jg047

TG and I were enjoying a couple of days up here at the Bunya Mountains with other caching friends to celebrate the New Year.
We were out today exploring the local area and doing a few caches at the same time.
The views from the parking area were fantastic.
We made our way towards GZ battling a little long grass along the way.
With a few meters to go we were faced with a lot of overgrowth and trees.
Here it was a challenge to find a way through to GZ but we did.
Once through that we were under the trees and were able to move freely towards the hiding spot.
We soon had the cache in hand and our name added to the log book.
It was a bit of fun and a memorable cache for us so happy to give it a favorite point.

We are finally able to spend some time to catch up on logging our cache finds from over the last few months. After a very difficult 2015, we were spending the New Year weekend in the Bunya Mountains with an eclectic bunch of cachers. New Year's Eve was spent playing a silly game and after much hilarity and seeing in the new year with sparklers and very little sleep, we spent the next few days wandering along the various tracks.
We had a terrific time exploring this area and with our name in the logbook, we were off to find the next cache on our list.
Thank you jg047 for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Still more stunning views, still more vegetation to fight with, but well worth the effort.
Found in the company of our great geo-buddies during our annual escape.

Sat logging this whilst enjoying our picnic lunch at the car park near to this cache. What stunning views! Took a while to find the cache as the GPS didn't settle for ages. Got there in the end though. Surprised to see so many other finds today in the log book! TFTC!

We were in the majestic Bunya Mountains for New Years along with a group of friends, celebrating the new year in style! Today we headed out along with catscatscats22, Net88 and Captain Terror and this one was next up on the list for us We pulled up at the end of the dirt trail, and headed bush towards GZ. We spotted a few stinging plants, but eventually we made our way down to GZ and quickly spotted the cache, and added our names to the logbook [^]

Geodad and geoboy hiked through the long grass up and over the hill to get this one. Great views. TFTC
Out and about with one half of The Drovers from the South Burnett to Gympie areas for a couple of days caching. We found a variety of caches and containers along the way and plenty of different hides to keep us on our toes along the way and this was one of them.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches along the way.

Mr Drover joined up with Konie and headed off, for a 2 day caching & camping trip.
Drove from Caboolture to cache the hills, travelling 600 kms in a loop & back to Caboolture.
We found a variety of cache hides and containers, some a little tricky to find.
Thanks to the CO's for all the effort of placing and maintaining these caches, we had an awesome 2 days.
Many thanks for placing this cache, jg047, for us and others to find.

Another weekend caching adventure with Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and TCC, this time we were headed off to the Bunya Mountains. After camping overnight at Dundabah, Swellerfungus and I headed out to grab a couple of caches previously found by Crookedpete. We had driven past last night while grabbing another nearby cache and CP had pointed out the best parking spot. We returned bright and early this morning and found the location again before heading down into the abyss. Some careful footwork was needed to arrive safely at GZ before Swellerfungus managed to make the find. TFTC
