Logs
It's with a bit of sadness that I need to archive this cache.
It truly is a lovely view and I recommend the walk to anyone.
With the recent muggle activity and destruction of the log and the cache lid too regularly - this one I am forced to archive it - as I would hate to see litter in the National Park on my account.
Thanks for all the excellent logs everyone.
Cheers

Completed this cache with Ace7 and Toadmister7. We found that the log book was blown all over the place. It was a nice spot and lovely view. TFTC
Arrived here to find all the log pages ripped out of the log book and strewn over the countryside. We picked up some that had been written on and put inside a plastic bag. The cache was not at the coords of GZ but under a bush on top. It was also filled with sand and we could not find the black widow TB. Cleaned everything up s best we could and returned the cache to GZ coords. Signed one of the pieces of paper. Sorry that your cache appears to have been muggled as it is a great spot. Thanks for bringing us here.
We thought we had it bad already, but the walkway up to Hat Hill was a miniture river!! We had our fronts and feet completely soaked, but managed to get to the top only to be greeted by a strong wind. Found the cache, but confirming with the previous finder, the log book is completely soaked! TFTC, no view for us due to the cloud
Halfway up the 250 metre trail to the rocky summit of Hat Hill in Blackheath, Mrs. pjmpjm and I were abruptly engulfed in a fierce rain-and-snow squall! We expected the increasingly spectacular view -- all the way back to Sydney, in fact -- but not the intense wind and cold, after a rather pleasant, sunny day. This was a warning as to what the Upper Blue Mountains can serve up to unsuspecting geocachers.
Then, after ten minutes, as suddenly as it began, the rain and snow stopped, and a beautiful rainbow appeared. The high wind remained, dropping the temperatures down to 7 degrees, but the amazing views from the top of the hill were well worth it. At one point, Mrs. pjmpjm was hanging on to the weather-beaten trig marker to keep her balance.
Published coordinates were pretty good but the clue is really all you'll need once you reach the top. I'd say that the cache is actually about ten metres from the trig marker and GZ was approximately 6-7 metres out from the published coordinates -- at least according to my Oregon 300's calculations.
Container was in good shape and the contents were dry. TNLNSL. The log book seems to have attracted a recent harmless muggle logging and the container was left well and truly 'au naturel' with a single small stone sitting on top of it. I replaced the convenient camo appropriately when I left it in its beautiful but windy hidaway.
Many thanks to mandaj for this one!

Last one for the day. With dark clouds coming over, it was a quick sprint up the hill, but a beautiful view of the valleys.. Found the trig point as well.
Left an Ubuntu CD (for the geeks).
TFTC
(PS, for the young players, read the description. We stopped the car at the closest point along the road and had no luck whatsoever.)

Nice walk up the hill for this one to be quickly in hand. Great view even though it was misty. Left geocoin for the next one along to gather. ( a nice redback) TFTC.
Found this one in the dark.
Was not paying much attention to anything but my footing and when I arrived at the trig station I looked up.
WOW. This must be great during the day but the view at night is sensational. Thank you for showing me this place.
Gather my thoughts and was lucky to have a quick easy find.

Hat Hill is situated in amazing location and a great place for a cache. Today was hot but the short walk and view from the top was the highlight of our day.
Thanks for showing us this place.

An easy climb and an easy find as we cycled back to town on the MTBs from the Anvil. Thanks for the Cache.
The smoke from the fire at the lower end of the Grose was easily seen from this trig.
I just wished I had taken a pic to log the trig on GCA. Next time !

First cache in a long day's walking, starting from Blackheath station. A great spot for a cache, splendid views, the gale force wind up there kept the flies at bay for a short while!
Really enjoyed this first cache today, took geocoin, left Yowie and Sydney Olympic pin.

Am wondering if we crossed paths with Rogerw3 today. Lovely views from a spot I had never thought of going before. Great rock formations and wildflowers. We took grandma out caching with us today. Nice easy find. Took glow stars left some beads.
After a very refreshing night of camping at Burralow Creek (-2°C apparently!) we thawed ourselves out and decided to move on to a different campground due to some unsociable noisy bogun campers nearby. After setting up again on this side of the mountains we then headed out to this cache and enjoyed this much needed peaceful spot with great views. Left geocoin, thanks,

Our first for the day. We have been coming to the mountains for 20 years and I never really considered that there was a Hat Hill to go with Hat Hill Road.
Great views (needl;ess to say) and a very good cache.

Every part of the Blue Mountain is a surprised to me .. on driving back before sunset, we thought we shall try to pickup this cache and true enough, it was easy and the view is just breath-taking .. TFTC
Managed to get this one in just before sunset. Brrr...it's cold in the mountains at this time of the year once the sun disappears.
Lovely spot and yet another reason to come to Anvil Rock.

It may be scenic sometimes but not when we were there. It was pouring with rain we were in cloud and we couldn't see a thing and got soaked - must be mad! TNLN TFTC and greetings from the UK
A quick walk to the top as the sun was getting low on the western horizon. The colours that were given off from the sandstone cliffs to the east were just amazing. Took heaps of photos but they just dont do it justice.
Found the cache without any trouble.
Second visitor for the day.

Having been to the Bridal Veil we were on our way back to Balckheath, but deicded to stop by this one first. Quick walk up the hill and an easy find. First to write in the new log book. Took sink staine,r left torch kit.
Have replaced the cache container and the log. The water should be kept out for the time being. Please take care of the container when replacing the camoflauge.
I'll need to go back soon to put the log in a sealable bag but if you are there before me and you just happen to have a spare snap-lok bag then please feel free to make that your contribution to the cache.
Cheers

Great day and a great spot. Was unable to sign the log as its soaking wet. The container needs replacing as the lid is broken. TNLN TFTC
I have enjoyed a backpack into the Grose valley which is very impressive (the valley that is). So it was good to get the perspective on it from this vantage point. Cache found easily enough but its method of hiding under large rocks has led to its cracking badly and it was very wet inside. Spent some time partially drying things and removing a couple of destroyed items, but this one needs replacing and probably removing to a better hiding method. (Under a ledge?) Great spot though and thanks.
Out with Krafty Charlie. Weather wasn't as cold as we expected it to be. Nice views.

Thank you for taking us to this lovely spot...parked the car, enjoyed the walk, and then stayed awhile enjoying the views even more...unfortunatley cache lid is cracked badly and contents getting wet..returned cache in a manner to try and help out until it can be repaired...TNLN, thanks again for a great cache
Our last cache for the day with probably the best view. The coords and clues were spot on for us making this an easy find. TFTC
Found this cache in the driving drizzle. Track was a water course. Had 8 geokids and 6 adults for this adventure. Took Geocoin, left soldier.
A quick one. Some months ago it looked like something unspectacular in the mist and I just ignored it. Today a 360 degrees panorama and an easy cache.

Dont let the darkness turn you off this cache. The walk up is still well defined at night and the view of city lights makes the walk worth it.

Went past the hat hill a bunch of times and never bothered to climb it. Thanks for taking us to the top. Got the cache pretty quickly. Took a pen, left StarWars action figure. We tried to hide the cache better than we found it as it was too obvious before and could be discovered by muggles. TFTH!
12:00 Excellent site for a cache with superb 360 views. With the added bonus of a trig point. TN, left Euro 1 cent coin. TFTC

An easy cache, well stocked, well hidden, and with 2 amazing views to take in depending on what direction you are looking.
Took the coin within.

Found this cache at 12:30 on a lovely sunny day, after some heavy fog in the morning. The path to the top was very scenic as was the end views on arriving at the trig point. There were lots of cicadas singing in the bushes.
Left: Green corded whistle.
Took: DVD. and Jarrah TB.
Thanks mandaj for the hide, great place.

It was very atmospheric up on top of this hill today with the low threatening clouds heading in from the west. As it turned out the promise of rain did not eventuate apart from a few sprinkles. The cicadas were very much in evidence - great to see and hear them despite their sometimes deafening presence. We had the place to ourselves and we tarried a little while on top enjoying the views and watching the clouds racing towards us whilst doing the cache duties. From the well stocked cache we took some cards & stickers, leaving a girl's necklace and some small karabiners. We also dropped off a coin and a TB. Thanks mandaj - nice cache.
What a fantastic location to end our trip. After parking the car we packed our picnic basket and after making sure the ginger beer was still ice cold we set off for the summit. There was one draw back and that it was cicadas mating time and the sound was deafening. On arrival at the summit a real size, well stocked cache was soon found and that was nearly too much for the system and I nearly fell of my perch.
Once the formalities where completed it was time to sit back and take in the awe-inspiring vistas while enjoying an ice cold glass of ginger beer. Unfortunately a cicada was using it for a spa. Tried a sandwich which seemed a bit crunchy and sure enough a cicada had ended up in that, it did not taste too bad so what the.
After trying to have picnic but between the deafening noise and horny cicadas mating on our heads we had enough and retreated to the car.
BTW Just because you put out a great cache in a terrific location doesn’t think we aren’t going to be lodging a claim for industrial deafness.
Took Dog stickers.

On a drive to the mountains for a bit of caching this was our first find for the afternoon. A nice quick walk had us at GZ in no time. The views were awesome. TNLN.

What a great location for a cache, 360deg views of the Blackheath beautiful vistas. I was up early so after a quick MTB ride from my place and a short walk up to the trig the cache was easily found. Well stocked with loads of goodies. Left a screw-driver & key finder and took the fridge magnets and the packet of tissues. Thanks mandaj for bringing me out to this great location.
We saw this one come just after it was listed. We thought we could go for the FTF or wait until the nest day and admire the Pretty Scenic Point and probably still getthe FTF on this one. Needless to say it was a bit of a no brainer knowing the area is just adorned with great views, so we opted for the day. We missed the FTF but the views from here more than compensated for that.
At the time we did get to doing this cache it was quite hazy, muggy and stormy, so the views were a little restricted, but they were still quiet good just the same. We would have to agree that this cache is well named as it is a Pretty Scenic Point. We have been past this spot so many times but never taken this very short deviation to see what was up here.
Thanks for giving us a reason to pop up there. We will be back.
Thanks for the cache.
Made no swaps on this occasion.
