With some reasonably fresh air today I had the opportunity to go and check on this one but unfortunately it has not survived.
The road is now open, but alas the fire came right to the edge of the mill fence.
The trees have been obliterated and I dare say the cache also.
I could not find any evidence of the cache, and the trees at gz are either gone, or what's left of them are cut up.
Definitely need an owner visit here.

With fire in this area and the road still closed disabled until I am able to check on it.
Out on a cache run with my mate Sheppythekid, on a nice summer's day, that took us to the Latrobe Valley and up into the Strezlecki Ranges.
Learnt something new today, i thought the smell in the Latrobe Valley was from the power generation! it's not. it comes from here, the pulp mill. What a fantastic piece of industry! Want to see this one at night. TFTC, Cheers, BWBandit.

Our first New Year cache, in the rain. But we managed to find and log this cache without being hassled by muggles. TFTC
Kids very excited to check this one's contents out as they hadnt got to see one yet, so I smuggled to car under jumper and back again. Took a little snake and left a dragonfly pendant. Thanks

September Stroll was born earlier in the week with an idea hatched to head in a loop towards Sale starting from Moe. Heading north up to Heyfield, across to Stratford then down to Sale before arriving home late, it was a magnificent spring day to enjoy East Gippsland.
Parking the GeoRanger on the other side of the road, Trent was out quickly checking an obvious cache hiding spot, to come up empty handed. Katy made her way over spotted the likely geotrail, followed her nose and came up with the find.
Thanks for the cache wam78!!!

Wow the traffic is terrific along here. The mill is as smelly as it ever was, too . Found cache, signed and returned. TNLN TFTC.
Found late at night, and we have to say.. the lights made the APM quite spectacular to see at night! Such a huge place, the steady hums and rumbles were almost hypnotic too. We found the cache quickly. Took purple elephant, left fishing glowstick and animal dice. SL TFTC wam78
Great cache! Has that classic paper mill smell to it lol. Saw a crushed pickachu toy on the walk from the car. Took nothing, left a hefalump. TFTC!!
Found it on an early cache run before the heat sets in. Nearly walked into a spider and web across the track. So many logs.... SL TFTC
Took us while to find this one, trying to dodge cars and trucks. Not a lot going on at the paper mill today, still a great view though. Found with WyldMan92. TFTC.

Was just about to give up on this one, when I said to myself, hey why not just have another little look around, and bingo, right under my nose the whole time.

Visiting over xmas weekend so we diverted for some caching on the trip back home. Do we really use all that much paper? Nice quick find on way past. Thanks wam78
Found by TZL and others, had to pretend to be trees when muggles drove past. It was a fun find, TFTC!
Found at 1622h with Poiter.H

After finding somewhere to park, I made my way to GZ and soon found the cache. The scale of the activity at the site was amazing. Thanks for the cache.
Found with the squalids - love the smell of wood, and there's certainly enough of it here!

We were awestruck by the number of logs here waiting to be milled - and the mill itself is an impressive undertaking. We could smell fresh timber - not an unpleasant smell at all, better than the chicken farm! TFTC.
Quick, easy find on a road we haven't travelled for many years, despite living in the area.

I had to dodge cyclist Muggles for this find, however once inside it was well protected from passing vehicles. I didnt see travel ingot, (although I didn't have a good look either) I recently bought one of these from Iamapom store so I hope yours is safe.. TFTC Wam78 TNLN Find #849
Found on the way to the event with Spladem. Had to wait for some pushbikes to pass before retrieving the cache. The bikes seem to love this road. TFTC
Lots of big spiders in their webs here today. I seemed to manage to walk into all of them! Still managed to find the cache though. TFTC

Nice to visit an old haunt. I have seen this mill from many angles, including the rail siding where I drove many a train in and out on the regular run from Melbourne Yard.

Found this one at 16:25 while on the way down to Sale for a couple of days of R&R. A nice easy one and I didn't even have to take the GPSr out of the car . You've gotta love that .
TNLNSL. Thanks wam78.
PS: There was no sign of the Travel Ingot Geocoin in the cache.

#6 of 12 for the day.
We took a few wrong turns on the way, confusing me as to where we were trying to go. Eventually it seemed as though we were on the right road. Finally!
Soon enough we were getting out of the car to look for the cache. After a few minutes of searching, with pauses as cars went past in both directions, we spotted it.
A nice hide with the plant looking kind of mesmerising with all the lights.

A fairly quick find @ 18:30 in the company of the geowife and emeraldflame whilst trying not to raise the interest of any of the passing parade of muggles. As we had come from the other side of the mill we made a couple of false approaches on wrong roads - but got there in the end! The mill is certainly quite an impressive site - I hadn't seen it from this close before.

Fairly easy drive by in an open stretch of road. There was no movement at the mill but plenty of passing traffic heading into town. TNLNSL. TFTC. KeMs.
Found in quick time. Must have been knock off time as the road was very busy, then suddenly nothing for quite a while. Left a blue matchbox car, took nothing. Thanks for the hide.
Took a while at this one, due to fear of snakes and nasty's hidden in unforseen places.
Thanks for the GC

I always wondered where those logging trucks that constantly pass through my home town end up, and now I now. Huge operation – pretty amazing. The hide had me puzzled at first, although I knew I was close, and then suddenly there it was. Resorted to the clue – very helpful. On weekdays, this road seems to be quite busy with trucks and other traffic, and I barely had enough room to park my limo on the side of the road, safely open the door, and get out. If you’ve got kids, I’d suggest doing this cache on a weekend. Nevertheless, well worth while – thanks wam78 for revealing an industrial part of Morwell previously unknown to me. Left nothing, took nothing (except a few photos), signed logbook.

Found at 9.40am GAFF1. An interesting aroma around here on such a still day. This place is gigantic and so much timber lying around ready to be processed. Nice first cache - thanks wam78
Found on Easter Saturday. The aroma of recently sawn timber, or is that chipped, was quite pleasant compared to the smells that can eminate from the mill at times. No swaps but took the Queen of the Skies TB. TFTC.
Our last cache before dinner, while on a caching weekend with caughtatwork. This was a most indubitably interesting place. Glad we were upwind, as we've had more than our fair share of stinky cache sites this weekend.
Thank you wam78 for the cache, site and history.

A quick drive by for the 12th and last cache of the afternoon before heading back for dinner and shower (not in that order).
We were reminded of the loony tunes cartoon with the two chipmunks in the furniture factory. "I do believe I have found our tree".
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks wam78 for this cache today. A sensational amount of wood being pulped for paper. Go paperless
